Despite having to make a return trip for something out of Safelite controls, my experience with getting my windshield replaced was great. From the moment I walked in for my appt (running late that day due to unexpected road closures), they were eager to get me logged in and started so I didn't lose my appt. They kept me informed with the status as I left shortly after and when we learned that the lane keeping assist system was acting odd, they did a lot of troubleshooting to help resolve. In the end I later learn it was a combination of the aftermarket glass and camera system that was odd. All of this was handled between them and my auto insurance company so it was easy for me. I appreciated the way they worked towards a solution. read more

Ranked #1 in wasting your time. I took the morning off for a 7am-11am appointment. 10:50 call to say they don't have my glass in stock. You called me yesterday to verify I would be here. Maybe you could have checked your inventory then? Never again Safelite. You lost your trust. Called my insurance and switched to a different company. read more

they told me 1 1/2 hours and i kept check on my vehicle throughout the hour and a half. for the first hour my vehicle sat there un touched. then just like last time they do not know how to calibrate my windshield. this is the second time ive used this company and had nothing but problems. i can assure you this will be the last time i use them. read more

I feel like it's important to have balanced reviews for businesses and not only see complainers coming on here giving a skewed version of businesses. Yelp often times feels like public health. When public health is done well, no one knows about it. But when a once in a century pandemic hits, everyone is cursing public health. Often people come onto Yelp to complain, which is fine, but how about write a good review when you get good customer service and products? I've used Safelite multiple times when the cracks in my windshield can no longer go unnoticed. Once, when I lived on the rez up in Chinle and very remote, Safelite sent someone out to replace my windshield while I was at work. They did an excellent job and I'm thankful I didn't need to drive off the rez to get my windshield replaced. Since being down here in Phoenix, I've needed my windshield replaced twice and both experiences were great. Easy appointment set up online, bring in vehicle and windshield replaced in about 90 minutes. Staff professional and courteous. Waiting area clean with complimentary wifi. No complaints here. Will come back again when I need another windshield. I wish I didn't have to come back, but no choice out here with rocks hitting my windshield often. And I'll gladly bring my vehicle here again. I have had many chips repaired over the years. I know what they should look like. This was a basic chip that does not look filled AT ALL. It just looks like glue smeared on top and not injected. The fact that this business would try to justify that shoddy work instead of asking to see it is further proof you should avoid them. Three visits, misinformation, and two extremely poor windshield install attempts with the SAME aftermarket (Fuyao) windshield...now they just want to reimburse my insurance and ship me off to any other glass company but them. Zero accountability at this point. If you want details, keep reading. I have a 2024 Honda Civic Type R. * 4/21/24 - a large rock impacted the drivers side windshield. * 4/23/24 - I took the day off work and dropped the car off at Avondale's Safelite located at 1595 N. 113th Ave Ste 100 in the early AM. A few hours later they were done and I pick it up. After arriving home, I inspect the job further and notice the rubber seal along the bottom of the windshield does not stretch all the way across. Safelite left a large gap for water and dirt (pictured) to invade on the drivers side bottom of the windshield. I immediately drive back, show them, and set up an appointment for them to replace the windshield after the tech Giovani, who installed the windshield, admitted fault and said the windshields come with that already on and will have to replace it. Fine. * 4/25/24 - I take another day off work and bring the car in for the windshield replacement. This time I stayed three hours in the waiting room. They finish and I check the windshield for the gap and repaired. The tech also explained to me that they took the windshield off and simply placed it back on after moving the rubber piece over enough to cover the gap. I didn't know they would move the rubber piece over since the previous tech said the windshield comes with the rubber already attached. But it's fixed and I wanted out of there so I let it go. I get home and look at the windshield closer and it's still not done right. I traded a fix for additional problems. The glass is not flush to the car. Upper left of the windshield is sticking up. You can see the top middle of the windshield is not flush. The vertical rubber molding on the left side of the windshield is bunched it in several places. And on the inside of the car you can tell the windshield is off-center. On the right hand side there is a slit where light is coming through that shouldn't be (pictured). So I'm done with Avondale Safelite and make an appointment for Safelite's Chandler location. * 4/27/24 - I arrive for my 1:30pm appointment at the Chandler location (6625 W Chandler Blvd). Dustin greets me, I explain the issues and he inspects the installation. He agreed this install was not acceptable and stated because my car is a 2024 an OEM windshield should be utilized. The Fuayo aftermarket brand is clearly not fitting properly. Dustin goes behind the counter while waited a few minutes and then he popped back out explaining the OEM windshield has been approved and ordered. I was to wait for a call to get scheduled once all set. Great, I'm finally going to get this done correctly (didn't happen). * 5/6/24 - Nearly two weeks later I show up for my expected final appointment and resolution at the Chandler location, 8am. Another tech comes out, I present the issues, and once again confirms the installation is not acceptable. However, I'm told that they don't have the OEM windshield. Even worse, it's not even approved. My 3rd day off work and still no resolution. Jeri Ann at the front desk explained to me that the information I received from Dustin was incorrect and showed me on their monitor that the OEM was not approved. She intended to escalate it to get it resolved, but explained that my insurance my not approve the OEM (Esurance who is contracted with Safelite). I left not knowing if I was getting OEM, if they were going to reinstall the same windshield, or if they were going to order another aftermarket to attempt. Within ten minutes of leaving the Chandler location, Jeri Ann from the location called me. She explained that because I'm upset with Safelite, they would like to reimburse my insurance so I could go to another glass company. I explained that ultimately all I care about is getting the correct fitted windshield for my car. I ask if they do get approval for an OEM windshield, if she can promise me a correct installation. What she said next was appalling, "No. No tech or manager will make that promise to you.". So a company that specializes in windshield repair and replacement can't promise to do their job correctly. Outstanding. Jeri then reiterated that they could reimburse my insurance company and I could go somewhere else. This bothered me for several reasons. One, they refused to promise a proper windshield installation. Two, they just wanted to make the problem go away by shipping me off somewhere else. And three, they simply did not want to take accountability and resolve the matter themselves. I told Jeri it sounds like they are just trying to get rid of me and make the problem go away to which her reply was "You can interpret it however you'd like.". Kind of insane that they'll happily replace the windshield on a 2024 Camry and leave out the fact that they don't have the technology to recalibrate it. $450 out of my own pocket later, 10+ hours of work taken off, and two dealership service visits later, and I FINALLY have my car recalibrated. Thanks for leaving that tiny little detail out, guys. When the Safelite worker I was dealing with finally broke it to me they can't recalibrate my car, he had the audacity to go "Have you had any mods installed? Sometimes those will set off these codes." ........he says to me with a completely straight face, while I'm holding the keys to a bone-stock, brand-new 2024 Camry. Mods? Are we being for real right now? You were digging around in my car for 12+ hours and have been all over the outside, you KNOW it has no mods. Love the blame shift, though, fantastic customer service. If you have a 2024 Toyota, do NOT bring it to Safelite, seriously. They CAN'T recalibrate it, they literally don't have the tech for it, they WON'T tell you that ahead of time, and that is EXPENSIVE to do out of pocket. The guys that finally WERE able to recalibrate my windshield literally told me "Yeah this is a super common problem with them". WHAT LOL?? Insane that they didn't give me a heads up on that, and I had to find that out after the fact. read more

I came in for a windshield repair and everything went great, no complaints. After my repair, I was getting ready to leave and my brake fluid light came on and my brakes stopped working. This had nothing to do with the guys working at Safelite or the work they had just done on my windshield, just a crazy coincidence. All of a sudden, my car became undriveable and I was stuck in the Safelite parking lot. Keep in mind, I am a 21 year college student who knows absolutely nothing about cars and I started to freak out. The guys working at Safelite saved the day. They immediately came out and started checking my brakes and looking at the brake fluid. One employee (I don't know his name) even went so far as to hop in his car and pick up brake fluid, put it in my car, and recheck everything. The brakes still didn't work, not his fault, but we determined there was something else wrong with my car. I started freaking out even more because now I was going to have to figure out how to get my car out of their lot. The guys working told me not to worry, I could keep my car in their lot for as long as I needed, even multiple days, they explained everything I should do and gave me amazing advice. Long story short, I would recommend this specific location to everyone. The customer service here is impeccable and they go above and beyond for their customers. I will definitely be coming back for any auto glass repairs I need in the future!!! read more

Thing is I never opted into Drop and Go from the start. Wasn't offered your FREE service for the free tint whatever it it that you offer either. Also, if a real live person sets the expectation IN PERSON, what else am I supposed to do? I signed up for the 930am appointment. Drop and Go was NEVER discussed. A rock hit my windshield and the crack started to spread. I have USAA and was able to make an appointment through their app with SafeLite. I got in about 2 weeks from the crack happening. My car has sensors on the windshield so I had to come to the shop to do a recalibration. The front desk receptionists were very kind and explained to me the process. Then I was given a pre inspection by Tony Gonzalez. Throughout the process I was being notified updates via txt by SafeLite and Tony came to check in with me about where they were in the process as well. I appreciated that so much! Tony was very professional, knowledgeable, and kind. It was an estimated 3-3.5 hour process that only took about 1.5 hours. I had a great experience here and would recommend to anyone. I hope I don't have to return for another cracked windshield but I know where to go if it happens. Thank you to everyone's assistance at this SafeLite location! read more

Update: 6/12/2023 I dropped my BMW off at an authorized BMW repair shop. They diagnosed it and it came back that the motor in the steering wheel is faulty. This motor causing the steering wheel to vibrator when you are too close to the edge of the lane / road. Based on that I am changing my review to 4 stars. Updated: 6/9/2023 Someone at Safelitte monitoring this accounting privately messages me asking for a work order #. I provided that and they respond that they forwarded my concerns to the local Safelittle location. In the meantime, I will be dropping off my car at an authorized BMW repair facility for a 2nd opinion on the work completed and the issues that have not been resolved. STAY TUNED !. I had my 2019 BMW 740 serviced here. Ever since they replaced windshielf (early 2023) my lane departure and blind spot sensors are going off. I dropped the car in again to have them recalibrated the sensors (warranty claim on their works). NO GO. It did not work. Sensors still going off. I will be having an authorized BMW repair technician looking at this. If the sensors do need replacing and are bad.. that is one thing. But if the safelitte location damaged the computer (in the rearview mirror) then they will be getting a bill from me for repairs. I will come back and revisit this review, but as its stands right now, I wouldnt recommend Safelite for repairs. read more

We took our Subaru Outback in for a windshield replacement as Safelite is unfortunately USAA's preferred vendor. First time they installed OEM glass.. Fine not really an issue to me. However, they said after installation that they were unable to calibrate the cameras. This happens sometimes with OEM glass and they would order Subaru factory glass and replace it but now we would have to wait a few weeks for the install to cure. We waited and the glass was ordered. After then messing up the appointments and sending my wife to Casa Grande vs Chandler and then having to reschedule again at the Chandler location the Subaru glass was installed. This glass was damaged and they tried to tell my wife this was "an acceptable defect" and if she wanted it replaced again she would have to call USAA and file another claim. She had not even left the parking lot of Safelite at this time. All this time while they were still unable to calibrate the cameras and that we now needed to take the car back to the Subaru dealer. So we then truck off to the Subaru dealer and they tell us the camera was damaged by the windshield replacement and that was why it couldnt be calibrated. So now we were left with a damaged windshield and broken cameras which had disabled like half the car! Back to Safelite for the new glass again which I had to go in since for some reason when my wife tried they blew her off. Very annoying that she was treated this way. So we have the new glass ordered and the cameras fixed by Subaru since we dont really have a choice to get out car back safely on the road. The issue is now Safelite refuses to cover the broken cameras. So many trips to Safelite, a broken car, and damaged paint. Oh yeah I havent even started in on their tape they used when it was 118 out that baked its self to our car and they had to scrub it off... In short this has been a very disappointing experience and I will never use nor recommend Safelite in the future. read more

I am giving this location five stars. After the Tempe location did a botches job replacing my daughter's windshield (took the tech 4 hours and we ended up with glass shards throughout the inside and outside of the car, trim falling off, a bad leak that ruined the headliner, etc) Luke was sent out to replace the bad window install. He was able to remove the poorly installed windshield, fix the windshield wiper transmission clip that was knocked off by the previous tech, install the new windshield and trim in a timely manner and left the car clean whereas the previous tech left the windshield so dirty with smeared handprints, etc it was difficult to see out of the windshield until the car could be washed. Still waiting on the headliner to be repaired. read more

TLDR- 2020 and beyond apart from remounting camera, no different than typical replacement. Tesla says post service if car acting weird you can reset in settings, if issue persist, then you'd need service center. For liability reasons, from their call center rep, that company policy allowed waivers in the past but not anymore. I never signed any waiver the first time. They won't change windshield unless you agree to stay 3-4 hours to get that done. Do not waste your time with safelite at any locations if you own a Tesla and here is why. If you want to know why it's always a fucking hassle getting your car into the service center you can blame it on the fact that they have to waste time doing minor things that could be done elsewhere. For one they don't understand the cars they service. They are under the impression that all of them need camera recalibration so a replacement that should take one to two hours like all other typical cars then becomes 3-4 if not more. Talk to Tesla and they reconfirmed AGAIN that cars 2020 and beyond do not need anything "special" unless the recalibration in settings doesn't work. My first replacement was different location in 2021 super seamless. The appts I've had since either the "special" Tesla trained technician wasn't there so had to reschedule or they ordered the wrong glass (even though that location had done the first one flawless). The second replacement was nothing but the total opposite experience between multiple rescheduling to then a "problem" connecting to Tesla technology for that super special recalibration. You end up just wasting your time. If you're lucky hopefully you don't show up to the appointment to be turned away. I thought maybe the first place had a change of manager/workers explaining the clusterfuck so I was going to try this location. I thought since being Chandler this location would have experience seeing more teslas. So regardless ill probably have to spend 3-4 hours and then waste time submitting receipts to my insurance. At least at the service center there are things around to kill time and it gets looked at for any recalls. read more
