This is the second time in 2 years that a rock hit and cracked the windshield on my SUV, so I needed it replaced. Sigh. But both times I got linked with Safelite through the State Farm app, which was an extremely easy and seamless process. They came to my house and fixed it for free both times! And both times, they got the job done quickly, with excellence AND walked me through / explained every step of the process. So, to be clear, I've never stepped foot in a Safelite location (and therefore can't review the FVH or any other location), but I am extremely pleased with both the outcome and how we got there for my two experiences with them. Made an appointment for my window to be replaced on the website. Everything was easy and straightforward. Billy my tech was awesome, communication was great, services provided were professional and quality, and he was super quick. Insurance didn't cover so I paid out of pocket and they aren't quite the cheapest but for them coming to me and I didn't have to leave and wait somewhere I'd say it's an even trade off. Hopefully I won't need another window but if I do I will be using Safelite! read more

The man who showed up basically refused to change my windshield although he was given several options of a flat service to recalibrate my car. He rescheduled me for Friday. I received my confirmation email and I also have him on my home surveillance telling me the day and time. He never showed up. I missed two days of work because of these people and my car isn't fixed. read more

You go through the process to fill out forms set an appointment, make arrangements to be able to leave the car and get back . Quote you a price then when it's close to your appointment . You get a different price and they tell you "we even excluded a promo code to bring it down . " From 400 to 600 + is not bringing it down , have the nerve to ask am I ok with that . I'm giving this Safelite location 0 stars. This is the 3rd time we have been cancelled upon. 1st time: No Show 2nd time: "technical issue" with their system, however we received confirmation from a tech, again no showed. 3rd time: No show. We received confirmation from their store owner Wesley Pennington that they weren't able to get the service done again for the 3rd time. We are suppose to be going on a family road trip however now thanks to Wesley Pennington and his Safelite location and a MONTH of cancellations this won't be occurring. I would avoid this place at all costs. read more

They screwed up repairing a routine rock hit on my windshield. The night that they fixed it, it began to spider from the exact spot they "fixed". When I called then they wanted to charge me the full cost to replace my windshield. In the US the average replacement cost is around 210 to 230. The costs should fall between 100-400 for sure. And these idiots are trying to charge me 450 to replace something that they should have fixed correctly the first time. I do not reccomend ever using safelite. You might as well try the self repair stuff from autozone and if that doesnt work then you aren't paying to fix it and then having to turn right around and also pay to replace it. The least they could've done is remove the cost I paid for the repair from the cost of the window replacement. They are low quality techs at crazy high prices. I will never use them. So when you say you guarantee the work it's just a sham because you can claim that it was the glass not the shotty work. So you never really have to guarantee anything. Seems pretty unethical to me. read more

So many errors made by the staff in st Louis Corp office, to the actual store is mind boggling. Basic, procedures, follow up and communication are nonexistent. Wrong orders, lack of communication on messages, and excuses run rampant. I thought their was hope after their efforts to correct the situation, but alas...more time=more screw ups. read more

Bad experience. No one showed up for my appointment and no one answered the phone when I tried to call the local office. Had to wait 3 additional days, only for the technician to finally come out and not have a replacement windshield with him, he thought it would just be a fill in. You would think in that huge van he would bring one just in case, but anyway. Was told I needed to wait THREE MORE DAYS for another technician to come out. Ended up driving 40 minutes with a busted windshield the next day for a walk-in appointment at the local office. The technician had the nerve to call me because I was 5 minutes late, like buddy I've been waiting to get this fixed for 4 days so you can wait 5 minutes. After all that aggravation, it was finally fixed. Unnecessarily stressful experience. read more

After dealing with Safelite on three separate occasions, I can honestly say I will never deal with them again. The first time was January 14, 2016. This time was relatively painless. I left my car at home while I went to work. I came home and the job was done. However, I keep a lanyard on my rearview mirror. When I came home, the lanyard was not taken off, and because he kept it on when he reattached my mirror, he left the lanyard on. So there was an $18 lanyard that was ruined. Almost exactly two months later (3/5/16), my windshield cracked again. Great. So I called Safelite, and they came out to fix it because the windshields come with a lifetime guarantee! AWESOME! Nope. This wasn't covered because the crack was not caused by a defect in the windshield. Of course. So, the guy told me he couldn't fix it then. Keep in mind this was at 4:30 on a Saturday. Being the procrastinator that I am, I didn't call back my insurance until 5/4/16 to get it replaced. Safelite was scheduled to come back on 5/5/16 between 12 and 5. So, since I knew how this story goes, I took off work early. Luckily I made it home before the guy got there. He got there, started the job, and I breathed a sigh of relief. But lo and behold, there was an issue. (See a pattern here?) Apparently when the guy from January reattached my antenna, he put some serious muscle on it, and this guy couldn't get it off. So i was given two options: 1.) try to take it off myself (yeah, right) or 2.) take it to an auto body shop and have it removed. SERIOUSLY?? These were my two options? For a problem that was THEIR fault. So, I called customer service and talked to a super nice lady. She tried getting a hold of the manager from the Fairview Store, but he had already left for the day. I guess this is common practice, because this wasn't the first time I got poor service near the end of the day. She said she would send him an email detailing the whole situation and asking him to call me first thing on Friday morning (the next day). Well, Friday morning comes and goes. When I got off work at 2:40, I called customer service again. This time I was finally able to call and talk to the manager! Can you say rude? I was never offered an apology, compensation for my time and trouble, NOTHING. The solution was to send two guys to my work on Tuesday (4 days from them) and fix it. Great. That still doesn't fix the problem that YOU caused. I cancelled the appointment today. I will go through the dealership from now on. Don't waste your time. read more

During my recent move from Florida to Illinois I took a rock to the windshield which resulted in a crack that couldn't be fixed. My insurance set me up with Safelite for the repair. When I looked up the location for the repair shop that would be coming out I realized they were more than 90 miles away from me. I called my insurance agent and said that there must be a mistake since the repair shop was so far away. My agent assured me that it would be fine. So I called the Safelite folks and explained that I was pretty sure that there was a mixup and did they have a closer location. The nice lady on the phone found a closer location to me and set it up for him to come and replace my windshield. During the time the appointment was made and the scheduled date something came up and I needed to change my appointment but it was not Friday night after hours so I went online and was able to change my appointment with no problems at all. The technician called to let me know he was on his way and I was even able to watch his progress to my home on the link they provided. He was very polite and did an awesome job on my windshield. I couldn't be happier with the whole experience!! read more

Excellent service. Got me in quickly. Was told you may not even be able to see where the chip was but my concern was that it not spread. You can barely see where the chip was in the windshield and so far it has held up. Staff is courteous. They will come to you if necessary. No complaints read more

I had my windshield replaced at the Fairview Heights, Il location. I set it up online and arrived at my scheduled time. The technician checked out the current shape of my car and said some of the rusty spots might cause a problem. They then proceeded to replace the windshield, even calling me to ask if the windshield they got in would be okay with me as it was slightly different, it had a tinted area. I said it would be fine and they did an excellent and timely job of replacing the glass. I would certainly recommend them to my friends or any one I hear of who needs auto glass. read more
