This review is specifically for mobile installer, Jose, who came by my workplace to replace my front windshield. The scheduled time window for arrival was 12n to 5pm, however, Jose did not arrive until 6:40pm, which was okay for me since I had planned to work late anyway. To Jose's credit, he did keep me informed on his ETA a couple of times during the day. My job was his last of the day, following 5 or 6 prior appointments which I think is too many for a mobile installer to do in this 100 degree weather! (Again, this review is for Jose and not so much the Safelite schedulers who should have taken into consideration the summer heat for their mobile technicians.....pretty tough to work outdoors in the blistering sun/heat installing vehicle windows which could take 2 to 3 hours each!) Jose is extremely courteous and does an excellent job explaining the work to be done. Hardworking and professional, he got the job done in about 2 hours -- the new window installation looks great with the seals all done correctly. There was an issue with recalibrating the camera/safety system, but it was due to limited daylight as it was getting dark as well as the mobile calibration equipment being new technology. Jose helped to secure an appointment onsite for the next day, which I went to ..... I was in and out in about 40 minutes with my vehicle safety system restored. It now works as it should, giving me peace of mind on the road. Jose is a great mobile tech with a wonderful work ethic and disposition - I would not hesitate to use him again in the future! read more

About 8 years ago, son let the top down on the convertible with the splitter down. Shattered the rear glass. The jingle.. "Safelite repair, Safelite replace." Great ad spot. Called them. They came to my home, replaced the glass. Fast forward to now, the glass is leaking. I do not expect a free warranty repair, but I do hope they can repair the work they did that failed in so little time. Drove to this shop. Person at the counter must be sales, because she tells me they can't repair it, only replace because the glue might not whatever. Um, remove glass, clean window sill, remove all old glue, reapply your best stuff today. Nope, with tax, over a hair under $800. I asked her to ask a tech to look at it. No one would. Told me I can go try a "Mom and Pop" shop." I had an awesome mom and pop, so I will. Drove about 2 miles to Autoglass Xperts. Not only could they repair it, explaining they could strip all the old adhesive, and reglue it, for a hair over $200, or replace it for $519 all in. Both of their options together still cheaper than Safelite, and the honesty that yes, it could be repaired. So what I paid for with Safelite, was the jingle, the snazzy commercial they couldn't even stand behind. You say the word "REPAIR", first in your ad. You couldn't even repair work you did and goofed. Your adhesive failed, yet you couldn't take the time to have a tech walk out to my car, in your parking lot to look and see, just had the person up front push for a sale of a new glass, then tell me take it or go to mom and pop. Mom and pop didn't have a lie of a jingle, and the money they saved me didn't jingle either, it folded to the tune of $300 over your price to replace. Now my glass is replaced, I saved a few hundred because you sent me elsewhere, rather than stand by your commercial, and repair the glass you installed. Save your money people. Autoglass Xperts are as mom and pop. They aren't charging you for ads they don't honor. They are charging you for glass and labor only. No bells, no lies, no catchy commercials. Have great lives in this gorgeous rainy day. If that rain is leaking into your car, don't bother with Safelite. Trust other ratings here. read more

Went in to get a 4mm chip repaired, walked out with a two inch crack. Front desk, who is guess is the manager, responded with "well, I told you it may get a little bigger when we repaired it". I suppose I should have quantified what "a little bigger" meant. They could not care less about their shoddy work and damaging my windshield further. Offered to replace the windshield at my cost. They use cheap glass. First one stress cracked within 48 hours. They replaced it and the second one cracked the same way. But they refused to warranty it the second time. Will never use them again. read more

Raul was my mobile technician for my windshield replacement today and he was super pleasant to work with, he did a great job with the removal and install of my windshield, and he even put my dash cam that was on my old windshield back and hid the wires better than I had! I recently had a poor customer service and communication experience with the Fort Worth Safelite branch. I made two attempts to have my windshield replaced, but both ended in failure: the first due to the windshield cracking upon installation; the second due to the discovery that the replacement windshield arrived flawed. Both events were actually understandable events. What was quite disappointing was the unsatisfactory communication regarding the invoice cost, difficulties reaching customer service reps at the specific store via their phone system tree, rude customer service at the front desk, and evasiveness regarding a discussion of potential partial compensation following the second failed install attempt. An offer of compensation was ultimately made, but the amount was insultingly small given the amount of time that had been invested in Safelite. My vehicle is a 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan. A later search of Volkswagen owner pages indicated a possible trend in problems encountered by Volkswagen owners who attempted to have glass repaired by Safelite. It's advisable for Volkswagen owners to research reviews before utilizing Safelite as a glass repaired source for their vehicles. In a broader sense, I think anyone who values good customer service and communication should closely evaluate their alternatives before utilizing Safelite - particularly the Fort Worth shop. My own experience did not suggest a strong commitment to customer care. The corporation is large and the marketing is robust. However, please remember there are many local options for windshield repair. If clear, honest communication and attention to the customer matter to you, please select carefully. read more

Will be using someone other than safelite in the future. They failed to install the rear view mirror correctly and I took the vehicle to the dealer thinking the mirror itself was broken. They told me it was just not mounted to the windshield correctly when the windshield was replaced. This company previously replaced a front windshield on my truck and refused to replace that windshield under an insurance claim because the windshield had a "previous leak". When confronted with the fact that they replaced that original leaking windshield, they would not honor the "Lifetime Warranty" for workmanship on the leaking windshield. I was told that that they did not want to do the replacement due to the fact that it may be rusted due to their poor workmanship. Quite literally the worst experience I have had with a company in a long time. I took my Tesla in for a windshield replacement. They replaced the window and called the same day saying they can't re-program the Tesla computers. They advised me to come back to safelite (45 minute drive from home) and take it to Tesla service that same day to have them do a simple "5 minute programming" and it would be "good to go. " stating this happens with Tesla occasionally. Tesla advised it was in fact not a simple 5 minute fix as it is supposed to automatically re-program on its own. And if it wasn't there were other underlying problems. I scheduled servicing at Tesla and was hit with a $600 repair bill. Directly related to Safelite damaging my GPS antenna located on the window mirror they removed. Safelite said they would pay for the repair. THEY LIED! They did not pay for the repair. The general manager promised for a check to compensate me for the repairs. I've received nothing months later. Never again Go to another place. Especially if you have a Tesla read more

There is no way to get in touch with someone live in their custom care dept unless you already have been serviced by them. This meant there was no way for me to gauge what the "technology portion" of the bill would be for replacing my windshield. I feel this is intentional, as the charge beyond the windshield replacement would likely be prohibitive. I will search elsewhere a company who has an actual human available to talk to and get a reliable quote. It's a shame as I would have considered Safelight otherwise. read more

After getting six text messages telling me to be on time, which I arrived a few minute's early, they could not stick to their time. Really if they could have been honest in the first place I would have planned different, and not be upset right now. They told me a hour and a half to change my windshield. At a hour and 45min someone came out and said it's almost done. At 2 hrs someone came out and said they just got the glass out, and "old truck usually take longer", but it will be 45 min. At 3 hours they finished. I said it would have been nice to know that it was going to take longer in the beginning. Since "old trucks always take longer". I also said someone shouldn't have came out and told me it was almost done, when they hadn't even gotten the glass out yet. He just looked at me and asked how I was paying. I called the main office to check where the individual was was told they couldn't find them they gave me his text number asked me to find him. Replaced my windshield on my 2021 Audi SQ7 in January of 24 just for them to leave a part off of my windshield that should've been put back on. Called them about replacing that part and they scheduled a home repair which I was fine with. Was supposed to be done in the morning but instead I waited all day until about 4pm for the guy to show up. He didn't call me to let me know he was there I just randomly looked outside and he was there. He tried to replace the part and completely shattered the corner of my windshield and cracked the rest of it. Gave me the excuse that the original window was not put back in properly and the drivers side windshield had bubbled and that is why it cracked. I had to wait a whole week just for them to replace my windshield all over again and put the part back on. The absolute worst customer service ever. I had an appointment scheduled for 08/23/2022 for a windshield replacement. I called on 08/22/2022 to confirm my appointment. No one could confirm my appointment nor if the windshield was in stock. I am calling again today and no one knows what they are doing. The customer rep said that I am now scheduled for a repaid and not a replacement. I advised him that the windshield is not repairable. This place is awful. I've reached out multiple times since August 28. Trying to get OEM glass for my car since the aftermarket didn't work. I've left multiple messages for the DM- Joe Jones to call me so we can get this resolved but apparently in the last two months he hasn't had the time to pick up the phone and make a phone call. I took my car in for a windshield replacement on a Saturday. All went well and the team was friendly and, at least appeared, to have done a good job. However, Sunday morning upon walking outside to take my car to got to the store, I noticed one of the "brackets" (not 100% sure what they are called) that holds it in place had popped loose, making the car unsafe for driving. After calling the shop just to find out they were closed, I finally reached someone via the Safelight website chat message. They basically said sorry, but we can't get anyone out to you until Tuesday. Given I work an hourly wage job, it looks like I'm going to miss 2 days of work b/c I cannot drive my car, no one is available at Safelight on a Sunday (even for emergency service), and they can't even provide help until Tuesday. Looking forward to seeing how this pans out, leaving some similar feedback on social media, and finding out what my options are for monetary compensation for missed work. Also, I'll be contacting USAA (my insurance provider) who recommended Safelight to me. I'm sure my situation isn't common, but it is well deserving of a 1-star review. Was told by 3 emails to expect the repairman on Tuesday. Tuesday morning bright and early he called and told us he would be here later in the day. We waited until 6:30 and called the company which had a recording saying they only answered calls 8-5. Called the # back to "David" who had called us, no answer and no voicemail set up. Next day called the company and they had no idea why, or what happened. Said they may try to fit us in the following day. At that point we were done. Sat home all day for nothing, and was not going to do that again! They sounded good, but they have horrible customer service. read more

The glass itself is great, but the interior of my vehicle was damaged at some point during the install. My dashboard now has a sharp indention into the material near the glass. It's small in size, maybe only an inch big, but as someone who purchased this car brand new, I take pride in up-keeping my car. I took photos before I dropped my car off at the location in case something like this happened, and afterwards to show where the damage is. I am disappointed and expected my car to be returned to me in the same condition it was dropped off in, aside from the glass of course. I provided feedback and someone from Safelite was supposed to call regarding my bad experience and never did. I'm not about to call and gripe over the scope of things with what people are going through in this pandemic, but it's still disappointing because something hit it hard to make that type of indention--so the technician definitely knew it happened and didn't mention it. On top of this I had to make two separate appointments on different weekends because I was not explained how choosing after-market vs. OEM glass would affect my future services, should I need any at Honda. This was frustrating because I live about 45 minutes away and my vehicle was there for a while before I was called back to get my vehicle to reschedule and order OEM glass. After investing $1,700 into this service and windshield with this outcome, I will not recommend this location for any windshield services to any of my family and friends as a result. read more

Scheduled an appointment more than 10 days out. Got a call an hour before window closed saying technician could not make it. Fine, things happen. However instead of providing timely reschedule, they said they couldn't reschedule mobile service for 2 weeks. Absolutely horrible customer service when you screw up and do nothing to try and rectify the situation. If you screw up, own up and fix the situation in a timely manner. read more

My truck was hit by a large rock so I used Safelite online report. It was easy to follow and they handled the insurance claim. The gentleman came like they said to my house and replaced it he even called me when he left is other appointment to say he was on the way. I quoted my windshield glass with safelite. 2017 Ford F-150. They quoted over $550 for the windshield and $350 for calibration. Over $900. I called other places and found many under $500 complete with calibration. All charged $150 for calibration and one was even at $99 (if necessary). Total job was $416.00 and no need for calibration. Safelite is a ripoff and should never be sued for auto glass replacement. read more
