When I first contacted Safelite it took three tries to get them to actually show up. They canceled on me twice and when they finally DID show up the installer informed me because there was rust, they could not replace the windshield. I would have to have a body man remove the rust. Called my body man Rick and he advised me he could do it for me but not until after the 1st of the year Jan, 2026. Brought it to Rick the third week of January. had safelite come out to remove the old windshield so the work could be performed. At that time Donna, Ricks wife called me to say they wanted an additional one hundred and some odd dollars because they had to come out Twice which I had already told them they would need to do and that was what their installer had told me would need to be done anyway. So instead of wanting $266.02 they now wanted more money. She asked if I was ok with that and I said no way and had a discussion with safelite on the phone. The man I spoke with in a 3 way conversation with Donna said that was a mistake and I would not be charged and extra. Next Rick calls them to tell them the work has been completed the day after they removed the windshield and they claim they can't put a new windshield in my truck because they don't have a windshield to fit it? Why on earth do you remove a windshield if you don't have one to replace it with. By this time I've about had it with safelite and I tell them that I rescheduled the install for the following Monday Feb 9, 2026 and that they better show up and complete the work or I would cancel the job altogether and they would not see penny one out of it. Monday comes, Safelite tells me they will be there and I'm finally going to get my truck back. Guess again. They showed up alright but now they are claiming unless I pay them up front, they won't do the job. I told the installer I wanted to speak with his boss who has already blown me off two other times as far as calling me and I have finally had enough and told them don't plan on collecting a penny if you don't do that job TODAY. Boss never called me, just told his installer to leave and don't do the work. Got a call from Donna saying the kid packed up and left. read more

Called support the next day and "We are so sorry, your tech was running way behind and couldn't make it, would you like to reschedule" ? Yea right, stuff it! Windshield replaced in January ... crack showed starting at the edge beginning of February ... it was definitely a materials quality issue ... Safelite should have replaced the windshield without question ... Had it been a crack from the center or not clearly starting from the edge, I would understand ... Poor customer service ... Technician said they couldn't do the warranty work because there appeared to be another impact point. I just had the windshield replaced in January and there was not an impact since that time ... the crack started at the edge and has been working its way across the windshield slowly ... Extremely disappointed! The tech was supposed to be here between 8 & 12. He showed up at 12:30 (he was overbooked which was not his faul). Then he informed me that be it was an older vehicle, things could break, if there is rust underneath he wouldn't be able to continue. Then at that point we would need to tow the car to a body shop to get fixed. So in the end it was a complete waste of my time and the windshield didn't get replaced. This more of a "protest review" than a job review. I've had three occasions to use Safelite, two positive and one VERY negative. Safelite came to my house to replace windshields twice. Each time, a young man came to my house with the proper windshield and installed it. Everything was great - no delays, he showed up on time, did a good job, etc. No complaints. The third time, I had to replace a side window that was broken by a vandal. I stopped by their shop, and in pretty short order, had a quote to replace the window. Later, when I tried to schedule an appointment, I call their local number and got the NO-CUSTOMER-SERVICE phone tree, which will absolutely NOT allow you to speak to anyone. Every lengthy trip down the phone tree ends with, "go to www.safelite.com", except I was in my car trying to schedule things. You can't press zero, you can't say "representative", you can't do anything but use their website. Even worthless Cox Cable will allow you to talk to someone eventually! To me, this is the very opposite of customer service, and it points to Safelite telling me that MY time has no value, only THEIR time to maximize THEIR efficiency. The phone tree is actually programmed to hang up on you if you decline to choose one of their automated options and keep asking for "representative!" How's THAT for appreciating your customers? I owned a successful business for 35 years, and I always did what I could to make my business more efficient, but NEVER at the sacrifice of service to our clients, as Safelite has done. read more

I needed my driver side window replaced. could not for the life of me talk to a real person. tried everything nothing worked. they have the worst business model. they also sent email after email and text to schedule an appointment without even having a live person in the system. If this is their customer service now imagine when there is a problem. I passed on them, and went to a local installer instead that was an actual person, and the price was 200.00 lower. The worst experience! We dropped off our practically new vehicle to get a new windshield as something hit the glass while driving and needed it to be replaced. At 4pm my car gets dropped of to get worked on, at 4:12 my son goes back to take them the molding they requested. The technician Lance Garrison was breaking the glass. He takes a pictures of the vehicle and let's us know they have started. 5:30 they go to see if the car is ready and just wait there because they never got a call as they were told they would. (Mind you they were suppose to take pictures already since he started a lil after 4pm). The receipt was ready and stated the installation was completed at 5:25pm. We go get our car and it has a big dent on the hood with paint chipped of from the impact. The tech took pictures at 5:00pm of the dent on the hood " stating he was about to start the job! BS as he started at 4:12 my son has pictured of him hitting/breaking the glass with an object. He tried to say we brought our vehicle with a dent already and he wasn't responsible! they are denying it. The other techs, agreed that they saw the car and saw the glass and the frame chipped not the hood of the car and said he wasn't working today 3/27/25. It's a shame that their manager Abimael Gonzalez is trying to cover it up and not owning up that they did the damage just so they don't have to cover the cost. we have prove that we will be submitting to corporate with our lawyer. My windshield replacement was scheduled over a week in advance. They harass you with texts, emails, and phone calls up to the day before the appointment to make sure you're going to be at your appointment on time and hold up your end of the bargain. However, they don't feel as if it's their responsibility to ensure holding up their end. I was told an hour before my appointment that my glass was not at the shop, and I would have to reschedule. I explained to them how this was the only free day I had pretty much all month (they were refusing to do mobile replacement because to "recalibrate" my car after the windshield replacement it has to be on a flat surface and lord knows there can't possibly be any flat surfaces in all of Gainesville other than their shop). I was not given any type of solution, and they were neither helpful nor apologetic. Hope I don't crash my car in the meantime since I couldn't get my windshield replaced with Safelite, but it's not like they'd care anyways. Do yourself a massive favor and when your insurance company recommends Safelite, demand they produce an alternate option so you don't get your time wasted like I did. read more

Even though I had a little extra wait because of the holiday they were flexible when the car ended up in a different location. They were also willing to negotiate since my insurance didn't cover it. This was set up by my insurance company and everything went very smoothly. But driving home I noticed this annoying banding of the glass between the dashboard and the bottom of the glass. It's at this point I noticed the glass wasn't OEM it's some cheap aftermarket glass instead of Mercedes Benz. Guess I should have just brought it to the dealer. Now I have to pit up with thus annoying light gray bands that constantly catch my eye when driving. If you're not going to use OEM you need to tell the customer first! read more

Living in this area of Florida with agriculture, rock mining, constant road work, and big trucks that kick up rocks, all my cars and frankly all the cars I've ever owned, while here in North Central Florida have at some time or another needed new windshields. Oddly enough Safelite has always done the work. The Good: Making an appointment was super easy. I was making one online, but was sent to finish it via my insurance company. It took no more than 5 minutes total. In the past I have had them come to my house to replace windshields, but this time I decided I wanted to take it to their shop. I was not disappointed. The service was great, the office guys were super friendly and spent a lot of time talking with me. The Bad: Not really any bad here. It took awhile to replace the window, but they did it right, so no complaints. The Ugly: No Ugly on their part. Of note though: Their bathroom is in the waiting room and that wasn't good. A guy, not a patron, stopped in and spent a significant amount of time in there. When he left, we all did too... if you know what I mean. It was not safe to go back into the waiting room for quite some time. Wish the bathroom was located someplace else. - That is all. All in all.... I would, and living in Florida, probably will use them again. I am not sure how other companies compare, but this one seems to do it right. read more

The worst display of professionalism I've ever encountered, after purchasing a window that I had broken safelite installed a new one, weeks after,i used my max rear defroster an notice smoke inside my truck I immediately pulled over an soon after that my window exploded, after that I took it back to safelite,showed the employee's because a manager (mike) was not present, an a manager needed to be present to handle my issues, I then left bc he took to long an then he called me, without even seeing my truck he place blame on me to where I drove back so he could see it with his own eyes for the first time. He's then insisted that I broke the window, I quickly disputed that to, to where I realized I had to go up the chain of command, got corporate involve to where they told me i had to prove it was my defrost, took it to ford with pictures to where they could see a fire had started due the illumination in the picture,safelite agreed to fixing my window,but I had to pay the labor which made no sense but I agreed to it to hurry up an get my window fixed,weeks later I finally got a appointment to get my window fix, that was not at the same location nor the same city, upon safelite delivering my window to another location they said the window had been broken,the 2nd appointment that was made for me I called in advance to make sure that had the window on site an they did not,the 3rd time they tried to give me a different window that didn't even have the sliding motorized window 6 months later I'm still with out a window an they continue to give me the run around, do not have high expectations an make sure you check your windows out thoroughly. read more

We would certainly use them again! We have had Safelite replace the windshield and, two years later, the rear hatch glass on our 2016 Toyota Highlander. After filing a claim with my insurance company, Safelite contacted a day or two later to schedule an appointment to repair my windshield. When you set up your appointment for them to go to you they usually just give you a timeframe. On the day of the appointment, my technician, Jaimie, updated me throughout the day and gave me plenty of notice before showing up to my apt so that I wasn't just sitting all day wondering when he would show up. The service was very quick. Approx. 20 min. He told me that he wasn't happy with his work and that he didn't think that he had the tools to repair my windshield and it would be best for me to take it in to have it replaced. Usually, you get a service done and you later find out that it was done poorly but, Jaimie was very honest with me and I appreciated that he didn't feel comfortable sending me on my way knowing that he hadn't done the best job possible. He set up my appointment right in front me and took care of everything for me. The only thing I had to do was take the car in. I took the car in two days later and the technicians were extremely friendly and made sure that all my questions were answered. It took about an hour for my service. I waited in the lounge, they had coffee, hot chocolate, water, snacks and a tv which I thought was very nice. Once my car came out, again, the technicians were nice and respectful and explained to me exactly what they did. I have no complaints about my new windshield and I had a great experience with Safelite. read more

I absolutely LOVE my new windshield! I went to the Safelite auto glass repair on N. Main St. and had Dale as my service technician. He did a great job examining my current windshield and explaining to me how the new fit would look on my car as my old windshield was separating from the car. Dale also let me look and approve my new windshield before it was installed on my car. It took just over an hour for the repair and was able to get my car that same day. I loved my new windshield so much I told my mom she should get a new one. She wanted a new one so she came and got hers repaired by Dale as well. Moral of the story... you need a new windshield?? After having my windshield crack from stray road debris over the Thanksgiving holiday, my insurance company set up an appointment for me with Safelite. I had never heard of or used them before, but I just wanted the ordeal to be over with, so I went with my insurance company's suggestion. My appointment was going to be at my own house sometime between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM. The morning of the appointment, the technician assigned to me called me to confirm the appointment and give me a more accurate arrival estimate (between 1:00 and 2:00). This was really helpful in planning my day. The technician arrived between those hours too! He was extremely friendly and coureous; excellent customer service. He did a quick inspection with me before getting started. While he waited for the tools to fix the crack, he washed all of my windows and vacuumed the floors in my front driver's and passenger's side areas. I was not expecting this and thought it was a nice touch. After only about 20-30 minutes, the service was done. As I was expecting, the blemish isn't entirely gone (they tell you to expect that upfront), but the crack (and potential for spreading) is gone. Also, they guarantee the work they do for the life of the vehicle, so if the crack ever reappears or worsens for some reason, they will come back and fix it. This was one of the best experiences I have had with someone working on my car. Very prompt, courteous, and professional. Hopefully I won't have another glass issue, but if I do, I will be sure to check out Safelite again! read more

Window was replaced and the tech did put in the correct glass. It has rained heavily yesterday and no leaks could be noticed so that is good. The old glass was the original and shattered when it was removed so while driving now my dash rattles where it had not before and there is no amount of adjustment going to fix that. I think I shall have to figure out a way to try and vacuum the broken bits in the crease between the new glass and the trim but I have no real idea how to get this done the gap is less than a finger width. It is super annoying at highway speeds and tapers off under 45. The glass is good the rattle is very disappointing. 3/2021 read more

I had Ocala Safelite make an appointment for me since they did not have the glass I needed for my car with the appointment I had with them. They made an appointment, they said, for Thursday, 2 days upcoming, for between 1pm and 2 pm. I waited until today, the Thursday appointment time and the installer did not show up. I called the number he called me with in the morning at 8:15. After 3 calls, he finally answered my call and told me that the appointment was for 4pm. After going back and forth, I agreed to the time and he said he would be there to install the glass. His name was Sal and he never showed up or even had the decency to call. This Gainsville Safelite is the worst company I have ever had the displeasure to do business with. It is the second time I tried to do business with them to no avail with similar results. Go to a different glass installer. One that treats customers better than this company does. read more

BEWARE!! Back window was replaced from Safelite only to find out during rainy season that it was done incorrectly. Once we called to let them know that water was pouring inside the truck, they sent a technician out. This technician let us know that the installer did not use the correct materials to seal it, let alone replace the bolts. He told us that he was able to just push the window out with his hand, that was how bad it was. He told us the installer is no longer with the company if that makes us feel better. (I have also read now that training for Safelite is minimal so I'm sure this happens a lot.) They replaced the back window for us again without a problem. However, now the truck was covered in mold. Once the window was repaired we asked them how they would be taking care of having the truck cleaned as they admitted from the beginning it was their fault. The assistant manager let us know that they would definitely be taking care of the matter and that they just needed to have the manager come take a look first. The day the manager came, I was in the back of my property and was not called. He still decided to take a look at the truck in my back yard, pulling my hose out, not even a care to put it back up. I don't believe any of my things should've been touched without me being there but anyways! I call as I see him pulling out my driveway only to be told that it was not their fault and they would not clean the vehicle. This manager was very rude and after dealing with friendly assistant manager, I was quite shocked. Eventually after trying to communicate with Safelite in Gainesville, I called corporate, they apologized for the company and sent us to have the truck cleaned and let us know they would bill the company. The cleaning company we chose let us know they have had to do mold removal for Safelite many times before and told us exactly how they typically do their billing to them. WOW! That's bad! I am already reading the reviews posted below me seeing the same issue. I will continue to advise everyone to stay far away from Safelite for their own safety and because of the HORRIBLE management. So - a Safelite (2525 N Main St, Gainesville) Tech came out to my work to replace a cracked windshield in my car yesterday, and after he took out the old one, refused to install the new one (paid for by Geico). Claimed there was 'severe rust' in the channel, which there was not, only some minor surface rust (like every car in America). Left my car with no windshield. And refused to give me my old one back. Now, I don't know why but my friends all say they were probably angling for some kind of extra payment from me. Geico is sending out a new company today to do it, after paying to tow my car home. Called Safelite through my insurance agency for damage to a window on one of our work trucks. The 1-800-number folks set us up with an appointment at the Main St office in Gainesville the very next day; said if we got the work truck there by 11am, then we'd have the truck back by 5pm that same day. Great, right? Because this is a work truck, and it's costing me money every minute that it is not in the road. I got an emailed confirmation. Price is set. All good, right? So I send the truck for drop-off the next morning at 10am with another team member following in a 2nd car to carry both guys back to the office afterwards --- and the wheels come off: the Safelite rep in the Main Street location says they don't have the window in stock and they don't know anything about our appointment. My guys call me as they left the place, asking me to find another window repair place. I call the Safelite 1-800 number again. Spend 20 minutes on hold while they reach out to the Main St location. The conclusion: apparently the appointment info was lost & the window order wasn't made. Well, yeah - duh. This is NOT how you run a business. I'll take mine elsewhere. read more

My windshield was cracked had an appointment set for a Tuesday morning was called and told they had ordered the wrong glass or if they did have the correct one the gentleman who was to fix it did not have the correct tool needed to calibrate a part ( was never told which one it was) so was rescheduled for the next morning that gentleman was wonderful however he did break part of the windshield that the rearview mirror mounts to which is not a big deal things happen and I was told he would come out Friday morning to repair it. I got a text later that day saying I was being charged $ 47.00 and had to call to find out that it was for windshield wipers that I did not want, I work at a car dealer ship and would never pay that much for them. Was told they were not sure if they had been put on or not but they wouldn't charge me, I went and checked and had not in fact had them put on. Friday comes and I was scheduled for after 12 and unfortunately he was not able to make it to my appointment so I had to wait again until Tues which is now a week with no rearview mirror. The gentleman showed up and thank goodness a coworker seen him because when I went out there to greet him he was on his way to his tuck to head to camp Blanding for his next appointment over looking mine so I had to stop him and he looked back on his phone to see he was at the right place and almost skipped me. He did do a good job and now everything is good, They even changed my wipers at no charge, but am definitely disappointed overall that it took a week to complete. I have used them in the past with absolutely no issue so they should have had the correct one to begin with and they should have been pre paired with the correct tool from day one. read more

My windshield needed replacing so I went online to see how easy/hard it would be to get it done. the website was fantastic! I was able to put in my insurance, book my appointment, and know how much it would cost me within 5 minutes. My technician (I think it was Justin) called me to give me an estimated time of arrival and was at my house promptly. Before he put my windshield on, he inspected the replacement and found there was a scratch at eye level on the driver side. He had me come look at it and asked if I would like to get a new windshield ordered in. He explained they could get it as soon as the next day or it may be around 3 days depending on how fast they could get the order in. We decided to order a new one and he was able to come back and replace the windshield the following day! I was so thankful he took that extra step in making sure I was happy with their product instead of just installing it and hoping for the best. He was a great technician and I would highly recommend their company! read more

We first took our Ford F-150 pick up truck to Safelite and I sat there and waited for hours. No one came out to tell me that they accidentally broke the glass putting it in and after sitting there for hours I finally ask someone and told them I needed to go to work, I thought it was very unprofessional that they completely was blowing me off. We used Safelite again as it looked like a stress fracture crack had occurred but of course we could not prove it, so they billed our insurance company for this replacement. Then recently we were driving the truck and the windshield just cracked, nothing hit the window and we called them to come out to look as we believed it was a stress fracture again. Of course the guy shows up and tells us "No, it is not a stress fracture". We believe these people are a rip off, they do not know how to put in a window that will last and we have had nothing but problems from them. They will not admit it if their company is at fault. Not happy at all with Safelite service. We called and schedualed an appointment for a damaged windshield on 12/24/2017. Safelite made an appointment for 12-27-2018. they showed up with a damaged windshield. Safelite reschedualed for 12-29-2017. That time showed up with the wrong windshield. At this time they reschedualed for 1-3-2018 or we could drive to Gainesville on 12-30-17 and have it replaced. My wife had to take our vehicle to there shop and wait for almost 3 hrs to have our windshield replaced. We waited and made arrangements to be at home for a windshield replacement 2 times and still had to waste a day and drive to there loacation to have this done. This all being done during a holliday week when we should be spending time with family. [[Also paid full price for repair. When their advertisement say's they come to you.]] read more

My truck had the windshield smashed when a huge turkey vulture flew up in front of me. I needed the windshield replaced right away because the vehicle was unsafe to drive and I use the truck 5 times a week. First I would just say "mobile glass repair" does not mean mobile. It means "mobile if you can sit around and wait for 5 days. If you can't wait that long you have to go to them. Second, if you are using your phone to find the place then be aware that Google will send you to a totally wrong address and the people at the Gainesville location could not be bothered to mention that fact to me. Then third, when I called them for help finding the place they could not bother to answer the phone. Fourth, they have a gouge gimmick: purchase new wipers or else your warranty is void. The young man who did the work did a good job but the company as a whole is not mobile, not honest and not even courteous. I recommend you go somewhere else. read more

I called the 800 number on 1/09/19 and talk to a person about my replacement windshield on my ram 1500 and was told they had the OEM windshield. They said that it would be shipped to Gainesville store before my appointment which was 1/14/19. I got a call on 1/14/19 from the Gainesville store and they needed my vin number, after he got the vin he told me that the OEM windshield was on national back order. I told him about the windshield coming from Alabama and he said that he is not allowed to get the windshield from Alabama. That's when I told him to cancel the work order. The main street store then called me back the next day and completely forgot that he talked to me, and tried to get me to have them install a after market windshield which I refused. This company has no clue on what they are doing and would not recommend they at all. (BEWARE)!!! read more
