I loved how easy it is to schedule an appointment online and make a claim through my insurance. I needed my windshield replaced and recalibration. I was able to get an estimation of the cost for everything the day I made the appointment. I'm so glad I was able to make a claim through my insurance which saved me a lot of money. The shop is located near the airport. The waiting room was clean and a decent size. Their is free wifi, water dispenser, and coffee machine. The woman's restroom was clean which is big plus for me. I got to my appointment an hour early but I was still able to check in. I received text updates while I waited which it took about 2 hours. My technician did a great job! Quality people doing quality work! A weed wacker kicked up some rocks and nailed my windshield, so I drove up same day and walked in to see what they could do for me. Not only did they check out my windshield and let me know I could get the cracks filled instead of buying a new one, Ryan the best window tech on the island, stayed late for me to fix it! Great service, with a little waiting room that was simple and had everything I needed while I was waiting. Waiting room has coffee, TV, and a few outlets. If you're bringing a laptop, there is one table with the outlets next to it. I'd say get an early appointment so you can get a good seat. As the day went on, it got crowded. Be a good customer. Clean up the area they are trying to work on (side window, front, rear glass, etc.) and you should get very quick turnaround. This was the only place that had glass for my BMW on short notice so it was great. You will NOT get factory OEM glass, just OE equivalent. If you care about brands, then this is something you should consider. Moe at the shop took care of my car quickly and I'm glad I took it here. read more

They scheduled my Volkswagen 3 1/2 weeks out to put glass in. The car was not drivable, the day before the appointment, they called me to tell me that they did not have the glass and that they needed to schedule me another 3 1/2 weeks out because where they were ordering it from didn't have it yet. They scheduled us between 8am and 3pm that's fine, get a call at 2:30pm saying he'll be late but on the way eta 5pm not impressed but that's fine as well. At 7pm the tech says they brought the wrong glass after he removed and cracked the old glass leaving shards of glass everywhere in the interior. You are sitting on your toilet, struggling to take a crap because after getting up from a hard night of drinking, you discover that the ointment you thought you applied around your pooper was Preparation H, but was in actuality Super Glue. You park your GF's car under a coconut tree and an hour later she finds the passenger side, front car windshield is cracked. In her way of thinking: "I" parked the car under the coconut tree and therefore, "I" should be the one that fixes it ..... "Isn't that right, Honey!!" My advise to you men out there: To keep your girlfriend happy, you need to give her three things: love, affection and a new windshield. At first, I thought of trying to fix the glass with one of AutoZone's $15.00, DIY, windshield repair kits ..... but "Houston we have a problem!" GF: "I want you to replace the glass! Not repair it! YOU parked it; YOU fix it! ..... "Isn't that right Honey! .....Oohhhhh!" When I heard her say "....Oohhhh! I knew I had to call Safelite. I went on-line and entered all the info they asked, to get a quote for the glass replacement from Safelite. A few minutes later they send me their quote and an offer of a $50 discount if I booked an appointment at their shop or schedule their free and convenient curbside service. I waited five days to see if they would offer an even bigger discount to nudge me. You got to remember, I'm paying, so the cheaper the better. Seven days later, another email arrives and this time the discount offered was only $45. So I go back and accept the original $50 discount and make an appointment for two days later (Saturday). My GF lives in an apartment building, so the first thing Saturday morning, I move her car to the loading area so that their technican (James), could park his Safelite van next to hers and have about 3'-0" clear space around her vehicle. The whole process of removing the damaged windshield; cleaning and prepping the area where the old windshield was removed; installing new perimeter glass mastic; installing and cleaning the new windshield took inside of an hour. James said he's been doing this auto glass replacement work for 10 years. He definitely knew what he was doing and worked diligently and efficiently. He and Safelite give a lifetime warranty for the completed installation. I'm totally happy and satisfied about going with Safelite for this windshield replacement and love their free and convenient curbside service option. This was a five star experience for me. Really terrible service. Don't come here for your auto glass needs. Something fell onto my windshield while I was driving and I immediately called Allstate to get help. Allstate recommended Safelite and I went along with it because I've never had this issue before. Setting up an appointment was easy enough, but the earliest appointment was 1 week out. I got several emails and texts regarding my appointment in the week before my appointment. I arrived on time and checked in, paid my deductible and when I met with the person who would be replacing my glass, he told me by battery needed to be at 70%. Not once did any of the reminders say anything about my battery charge. If they would have said something beforehand, I would have made sure it was above 70%. I had to take off from work to plan to spend 4 hours at safelite, so I was pretty pissed. To make things worse, the front desk lady was rude, told me I didn't pay when I asked for my money back and would not give me any sort of receipt saying the work was not done and that my credit card would be refunded. Sounds like a pretty sketchy operation if you ask me. I called Ace auto glass in kalihi after my terrible experience at safelite and they were much more helpful. They also were able to accommodate me in a timely manner. Lesson learned: if you have Allstate and need glass replacement, ask to use Ace Auto Glass instead of the default, Safelite. read more

The good is you can get an estimate and schedule online. I scheduled my appointment for today and was told between 8am-5pm so be available. Now for the bad, we made no plans as we need the windshield changed. Hoping by 12pm we would get an update on arrival. No update until an email at 2:47pm that they rescheduled my appointment to a week later. No specific time so we have to wait between 8am-5pm again. The truck cannot be driven so we appreciated the mobile service. The amount that we are being charged we hoped for better communication. read more

Satellite is fast and convenient if you ever have a damaged windshield. They are able to come to your residence to do repairs as well. We have had a few windshields repaired here and they always do a great job. The wait time is not too long. read more

You can't best the price and the installer was very accommodating and tried his best to do a good job and have a happy customer. However, oem glass for my 100k car, which is 14 years old, is not the same as their "comes from the same manufacturer" glass. It may come from the same manufacturer, but the specs are different on the quality of the glass. My original shed water like it had permanent rain x on it and the glass looked liked like crystal if you just need a windshield on a car that you're gonna keep forever then go for oem. If you want to save over a $1000 then these are your guys. These guys are a national chain so expect to be nickel and dimed read more

I had a very mixed experience with Safelite. They were the cheaper option with the online coupon and I thought it would be easy. It was not.. more on that later but for the positives - my technician Pale was so friendly, helpful, and did an excellent job on my repair. His professionalism made the whole process smooth and stress-free--100% recommend him. BUT, the booking process was a bit of a hassle. The website showed same-day availability, but after booking, I called to confirm and found out the site wasn't accurate. The online call center rebooked me but couldn't apply a coupon and charged me full price so I decided to cancel and rebook after I couldn't get a hold of the local office. Had my 2012 Tacoma rear sliding window replaced by Safelite. upon completion of installation, I noticed gaps on the sides of the rubber trim. I asked about the exposure to water and if he could use a sealant to take care of it. His response was...thats just the way it is because the new glass is not an OEM product. I backed into a parking stall in a parking garage and whenever you do that, you better watch for the overhang from the upper deck or suffer the consequences.....and suffer I did. Take a look at the pics. The impact on the glass was if someone took a metal punch to glass....it totally spidered out and if I didn't have tint on the glass, it would have fallen all apart and I would have been left with a gaping hole. But I digress as this is a review of Safelite. I read all the reviews posted here....especially the bad ones, but I wanted to give it a chance because their online price quote system was easy to use AND they were open on Saturday. Their online system asks you the basic questions such as which window(s) are involved and what make/model of car you have. It also asks for your VIN so they can ensure they have the correct fitting window. Down I went this morning and was greeted by a young local wahine. She was talking to another customer outside but took the time to tell me that she would be right in to help. She got a technician for me and we walked to my car to go over the damages. He said they would call me when it was all pau. Under TWO hours later, I get the call. That was super fast. And when I went to pay, I was surprised by the price. It was less than quoted. Cheeeehooo! So to all the people who reviews and said this place was a rip.....it wasn't like that for me. The price was more than fair and the service was top notch. There is another local business that does glass-work, but for convenience, pricing and good service.....you can't go wrong with Safelite. read more

They don't do same day booking mobile appointments online. We got a confirmation text and email for my appointment that I booked early in the morning online. Waited a whole day from 8am-1pm. Called at 1pm to get an ETA and they said they dont do same day appointments. I told them I should have been notified of that and they shouldn't have sent me confirmation emails and texts and confirming my appointment. What a waste of my day. Please fix your booking online so other customers dont do the same thing I did. The lady on the phone was very kind and understanding of my frustration. As I stated in my previous review Safelite might have some bad drivers but they have KILLER customer service. Shortly after posting my one star review I broke the windshield on the Civic. I called Safelite because it was literally the name that everyone knows. From that call everything was just 1, 2, 3, done. They helped me arrange with my insurance, scheduled me into a slot and then pulled the glass and replaced it. Now, the 19 Civic does have brain damage so there was an issue with the forward radar that made the process take 2 days instead of 1, but that's not their fault. They kept me up to date for the whole process, managed to quench whatever demon was living in the radar and got the job done for only $500 (insurance downpayment). The new windshield has been serving us well and hasn't leaked at all. I would definitely come back and I can definitely forgive whatever driver was treating our neighborhood as the Nürburgring. Very, very happy with the process in and out. read more

This review isn't about their work but their poor customer service. We had 2 appointments scheduled but they never happened. The first they said was never in their system despite me calling 3 times and getting confirmation. The 2nd was definitely confirmed with multiple text and email reminders, but then being cancelled 15 minutes before their 4-hour window closed (we were told they would show up between 1-5pm, and at 4:45pm was texted a cancellation notice without any explanation). Everything from technical knowledge to customer service. So I took my 2021 Ram 1500 in for front windshield replacement! I was driving and a rock hit and crack my front windshield. I had made an appointment and was waiting in lobby when after about 45 minutes a guy comes in and says they can't do the job! ??? I'm like what? Yes we are getting these codes when we run the diagnostic's . I'm like HUH? Yes it's telling us your Driver Assistance module is throwing a code so we will not replace the windshield because we won't be able to re-calibrate it! You have to take it to dealer and get the codes cleared before we replace it! . What do I know so I drive directly to dealer and they are super good and run the diagnostic's and tell me there are NO ACTIVE CODES! I call them back and speak to Manager and technician and both argue their codes are right and they have to be cleared before doing job! So I go back to dealer again and they say we can clear codes (inactive codes- NONE ARE ACTIVE) but they hate to charge me $275 for clearing nothing! Long story short, I take it to ACE AUTO GLASS in Honolulu! They tell me it will be a couple days to recalibrate, OK problem. They call me 4 hours later and tell me JOB IS DONE AND I CAN COME PICK UP MY TRUCK! FORGET SAFELITE, these guys are HUMBUG! Go ACE AUTO GLASS! AND they recalibrated everything! read more

This is the second vehicle that had a chip in the glass. This one was worst than the previous vehicle as there was a slight crack and not just a chip in the glass. We were the second customer so the tech (06593-933, Ryan?) came early so we didn't have to wait long. He did an excellent job, I can't even see where the crack was. All I have to say is "I am one happy Customer". I was told that the technician (Tony) was going to be contacting me on the day he's scheduled to do an on-site replacement of my windshield. Of course the weather wasn't cooperating, at which time I didn't know how we could work around all this rain, so Tony asked I wanted to bring the car to the shop. I was more than happy to bring the car in; yeah traffic was bad, the weather was bad, but I didn't want to reschedule the repair. The customer Rep at the front desk was friendly, and didn't waste anytime getting things rolling. Tony came out, we went to the truck so he could see what he was dealing with, I turned the keys over to him, hour and a half later, I was on the road heading home. The waiting room was clean and presentable, complimentary coffee, water, and snacks were available. Wifi with password, and a TV to watch while I waited. While driving home in the rain, I realized that "ALL" my windows and mirrors were cleaned. How's that for service? Reviewing my experience with Safelite: I booked a same day appointment online to have our windshield replaced and paid for the early bird option. So that way they could arrive sooner rather than later during the 8AM-5PM timeframe they provided. I received an email confirmation that our work order was placed and assumed everything was taken care of. Out of curiosity I decided to look at the reviews this company had on Yelp, which I wish I had done prior to scheduling our appointment. I did notice that other people had issues when reserving online, so I decided to call Safelite directly to confirm that my same-day appointment was still happening as planned. I was routed over to the company's main call center and spoke to a lady named Brenda over the phone. I let her know that I wanted to confirm my appointment and she told me that no one would be able to come today as no one was routed to my scheduled appointment. She let me know that their website has a flaw in their system with allowing people to reserve same day appointments and not being able to fulfill them due to the local shop not having enough staff, materials or time within the day. I was very concerned as I had already paid for this service and needed it to be completed so that we had a way to pick up our children from school. Brenda called over to the local shop and was unable to get through. So, she sent a message on my behalf for them to call me right away. She also gave me the local shop number as well and asked for me to give them a bit of time to get back to me. A couple hours later, I received an email notification that our scheduled appointment was changed to tomorrow and we would be charged an additional $53 dollars. Concerned, I went back online and changed it back to today's date. The site allowed me to change it back and it seems that they are also crediting me back for not honoring the early bird time frame. Right after, I called the number for the local shop and spoke with a lady named Tia. She was completely friendly and helpful over the phone. I let her know of the situation and she was able to confirm that someone would be coming on the same day to assist us with our windshield replacement. I was absolutely relived to hear that and thanked her for help. Shortly after that, I received an email that James will be assisting us, so I'll give an update later on that as well. Although it was no fault with the representatives that assisted us. Had I not followed up, I don't know what type of predicament we'd be in. The upper-level team leaders need to fix the flaw in their online reservation system to have it in sync with the local shops. Otherwise, you leave customers under the impression your services will be honored and then upset when it's not. Then having those irate customers taking it out on your underpaid staff who had no control of the matter to begin with. I hope this review is seen by the company and fellow yelpers. There's definitely room for improvement. I gave 3 stars for the mixed impression. 5 stars for customer service. But 0 stars for faulty online system. read more
