I was able to get an estimation of the cost for everything the day I made the appointment. I'm so glad I was able to make a claim through my insurance which saved me a lot of money. The shop is located near the airport. The waiting room was clean and a decent size. Their is free wifi, water dispenser, and coffee machine. The woman's restroom was clean which is big plus for me. I got to my appointment an hour early but I was still able to check in. I received text updates while I waited which it took about 2 hours. My technician did a great job! The bad...0 stars I made an appointment online for the mobile service to come to my place to replace the cracked windshield on my SUV. The mobile service is only available for Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. I made the appointment for Monday 7/27. They tell you that they'll be there between 8am-5pm, which means you have to wait the entire day. Monday came and no call no show. I called customer service on Tuesday. They apologized and said that they would come on Wednesday 7/29 and give me priority. Wednesday came and no call no show. My husband and I were ready to look for another company to do the job. On Thursday 7/30, they sent a text saying that they would come on Wednesday 8/5. On Wednesday 8/5 they finally showed up at 2pm. The good...5 stars The tech they sent to replace the windshield did a really good job. You can't even tell that it was replaced. It looks exactly like the original. The job took him about two hours. He told us to leave the windows down for half an hour and to not remove the tape until the next day. We're really happy with the job he did. The total came out to $918 with tax and recycling fee. Worst Experience Ever! Unacceptable Incompetence and Property Damage. I am writing to express my absolute outrage over the appalling service I received. As a fellow business owner, I never leave negative reviews because I understand operational challenges. However, after being openly mocked by their staff via text message, I feel an absolute obligation to warn the public. We ordered a rear glass replacement in MAY. It is almost AUGUST. Since then, Safelite has forced us to return to their Honolulu location FIVE SEPARATE TIMES including today, and we still do not have the glass. Living in Kapolei means each trip requires a massive logistical effort. Every single time, I had to coordinate with my family to drive a second vehicle, waste hours of our time, and burn gas driving across the island only to be notified an hour after drop-off that they ordered the wrong glass for the fifth consecutive time. The staff repeatedly blamed their "Head Office" for sending the wrong parts, while looping us in a ridiculous cycle of admitting they don't have the part but offering to order it again. To make matters worse, the "temporary glass" they installed LEAKS severely when it rains, causing active water damage to my vehicle's interior. They have literally damaged my property while failing to fix the original issue we paid for months ago. I rightfully demanded a full refund because a sixth trip is completely out of the question. While the team apologized and assured me a refund was processing, an employee named Brandi decided to turn our nightmare into a joke. At 9:40 AM, Brandi texted me from 808-850-5832 to say the part didn't fit. I replied immediately. She read my message at 10:00 AM, ignored it for over five hours, and finally replied at 3:20 PM with "Hahaha". To Brandi: I dont know what part of destroying a customer's car interior, wasting their hard-earned money, and stealing days of their family's time is funny to you. Your complete lack of workplace ethics, horrible customer service, and decision to openly mock a paying client is a fireable offense. If I ran my business the way you conduct yourself, I would be bankrupt. You are an absolute liability to Safelite and don't see how you should be working there another day. I am uploading the screenshots of Brandi's "Hahaha" text message alongside our five Safelite appointment confirmations to prove this utter failure of a business. If Safelite employs people who think damaging a customer's vehicle and laughing at their distress is acceptable, it explains their total inability to perform basic auto-glass repair. Broke my rear hatch glass and made an appt. for a tech to show up to replace it. Took 1 week for the earliest appt. and was given an appt. window of 8am to 5pm. Tech showed up a hour late and called to ask if still wanted to keep the appt. after I had waited at home all day not knowing when they would show up. Tech shows up at 6 and proceeds on the job but then tells me that he needs a part and won't install the glass as the part has to be ordered before the glass is installed. Apologizes and I then have to make an appt. for the following week. Same 8am to 5pm window. One week later, they call me at 10am to say that the part has not arrive and that the work needs to be done in shop. Earliest they can take me another week out... this is now 3 weeks. Finally take the car to their shop and leave it for the day but was told again that that the washer motor has not arrived but they can install the glass AND the tech should have been able to install the glass on the first onsite appt with no issues. Paid my deductible and was told that they would call when the part came in and it now over a week since then and no call. I called the local shop number but it gets routed to the mainland and then the operator has to then put me on hold to call the shop to talk to them. Both times, put on hold for 15+ minutes and then hung up on. The glass has been installed no problem and ironically the wiper does work which the tech claimed has been disconnected but the water doe not dispense. Today, I've spent over an hour trying to see if they will fix the washer fluid dispenser and both times hung up on. I will never use Safelite again. read more

In June 2026, I walked into Safelite to get a quote about a windshield replacement. The scheduler Brandy quoted me over $1100 for a replacement but the Safelite online quote I received, based on entering my Honolulu zip code was $842 for replacement and recalibration. Brandy took advantage of me and my situation and would not honor the online quote I received from the national Safelite website. I'm a struggling mother of three. Every dollar counts. Not only did they check out my windshield and let me know I could get the cracks filled instead of buying a new one, Ryan the best window tech on the island, stayed late for me to fix it! I have had safelite replace the windshield on several vehicles in tye past, the work was good. Lately they prices have just exploded. I recently had a my windshield on a newer vehicle replaced and the glass replacement was 400 dollars. Not to bad if you stop there, but there was also a non optional camera calibration costing 750 dollars. If you lookup the procedure to "calibrate" the camera take about 15 minutes and most cars have self calibration. This is not optional you cannot opt out and just have the glass replaced. In the end with all the extra cost, it's was cheaper to have it done at the dealer. Seems like they found a new type of insurance scam. Driving up cost. read more

Great service, with a little waiting room that was simple and had everything I needed while I was waiting. Waiting room has coffee, TV, and a few outlets. If you're bringing a laptop, there is one table with the outlets next to it. I'd say get an early appointment so you can get a good seat. As the day went on, it got crowded. Be a good customer. Clean up the area they are trying to work on (side window, front, rear glass, etc.) and you should get very quick turnaround. This was the only place that had glass for my BMW on short notice so it was great. You will NOT get factory OEM glass, just OE equivalent. You get a letter from the IRS saying that your $2,370.00 Federal Income Tax refund was a mistake and that the recalculated amount shows you owing $23,700.00. You are sitting on your toilet, struggling to take a crap because after getting up from a hard night of drinking, you discover that the ointment you thought you applied around your pooper was Preparation H, but was in actuality Super Glue. You park your GF's car under a coconut tree and an hour later she finds the passenger side, front car windshield is cracked. In her way of thinking: "I" parked the car under the coconut tree and therefore, "I" should be the one that fixes it ..... "Isn't that right, Honey!!" My advise to you men out there: To keep your girlfriend happy, you need to give her three things: love, affection and a new windshield. A lot of times, when I browse YouTube, I see a commercial of that guy carrying a baseball bat with his kid; and his kid says "Nice shot dad! Oohhhhhhh!" ...Safelite repair; Safelite replace! At first, I thought of trying to fix the glass with one of AutoZone's $15.00, DIY, windshield repair kits ..... but "Houston we have a problem!" GF: "I want you to replace the glass! Not repair it! YOU parked it; YOU fix it! ..... "Isn't that right Honey! .....Oohhhhh!" When I heard her say "....Oohhhh! I knew I had to call Safelite. I went on-line and entered all the info they asked, to get a quote for the glass replacement from Safelite. A few minutes later they send me their quote and an offer of a $50 discount if I booked an appointment at their shop or schedule their free and convenient curbside service. I waited five days to see if they would offer an even bigger discount to nudge me. You got to remember, I'm paying, so the cheaper the better. Seven days later, another email arrives and this time the discount offered was only $45. So I go back and accept the original $50 discount and make an appointment for two days later (Saturday). My GF lives in an apartment building, so the first thing Saturday morning, I move her car to the loading area so that their technican (James), could park his Safelite van next to hers and have about 3'-0" clear space around her vehicle. The whole process of removing the damaged windshield; cleaning and prepping the area where the old windshield was removed; installing new perimeter glass mastic; installing and cleaning the new windshield took inside of an hour. James said he's been doing this auto glass replacement work for 10 years. He definitely knew what he was doing and worked diligently and efficiently. He and Safelite give a lifetime warranty for the completed installation. I'm totally happy and satisfied about going with Safelite for this windshield replacement and love their free and convenient curbside service option. This was a five star experience for me. Really terrible service. Don't come here for your auto glass needs. Something fell onto my windshield while I was driving and I immediately called Allstate to get help. Allstate recommended Safelite and I went along with it because I've never had this issue before. Setting up an appointment was easy enough, but the earliest appointment was 1 week out. I got several emails and texts regarding my appointment in the week before my appointment. I arrived on time and checked in, paid my deductible and when I met with the person who would be replacing my glass, he told me by battery needed to be at 70%. Not once did any of the reminders say anything about my battery charge. If they would have said something beforehand, I would have made sure it was above 70%. I had to take off from work to plan to spend 4 hours at safelite, so I was pretty pissed. To make things worse, the front desk lady was rude, told me I didn't pay when I asked for my money back and would not give me any sort of receipt saying the work was not done and that my credit card would be refunded. Sounds like a pretty sketchy operation if you ask me. I called Ace auto glass in kalihi after my terrible experience at safelite and they were much more helpful. They also were able to accommodate me in a timely manner. Lesson learned: if you have Allstate and need glass replacement, ask to use Ace Auto Glass instead of the default, Safelite. read more

They scheduled us between 8am and 3pm that's fine, get a call at 2:30pm saying he'll be late but on the way eta 5pm not impressed but that's fine as well. At 7pm the tech says they brought the wrong glass after he removed and cracked the old glass leaving shards of glass everywhere in the interior. You can't best the price and the installer was very accommodating and tried his best to do a good job and have a happy customer. However, oem glass for my 100k car, which is 14 years old, is not the same as their "comes from the same manufacturer" glass. It may come from the same manufacturer, but the specs are different on the quality of the glass. My original shed water like it had permanent rain x on it and the glass looked liked like crystal if you just need a windshield on a car that you're gonna keep forever then go for oem. I had a very mixed experience with Safelite. They were the cheaper option with the online coupon and I thought it would be easy. It was not.. more on that later but for the positives - my technician Pale was so friendly, helpful, and did an excellent job on my repair. His professionalism made the whole process smooth and stress-free--100% recommend him. BUT, the booking process was a bit of a hassle. The website showed same-day availability, but after booking, I called to confirm and found out the site wasn't accurate. The online call center rebooked me but couldn't apply a coupon and charged me full price so I decided to cancel and rebook after I couldn't get a hold of the local office. I backed into a parking stall in a parking garage and whenever you do that, you better watch for the overhang from the upper deck or suffer the consequences.....and suffer I did. The impact on the glass was if someone took a metal punch to glass....it totally spidered out and if I didn't have tint on the glass, it would have fallen all apart and I would have been left with a gaping hole. But I digress as this is a review of Safelite. I read all the reviews posted here....especially the bad ones, but I wanted to give it a chance because their online price quote system was easy to use AND they were open on Saturday. Their online system asks you the basic questions such as which window(s) are involved and what make/model of car you have. It also asks for your VIN so they can ensure they have the correct fitting window. Down I went this morning and was greeted by a young local wahine. She was talking to another customer outside but took the time to tell me that she would be right in to help. She got a technician for me and we walked to my car to go over the damages. He said they would call me when it was all pau. Under TWO hours later, I get the call. That was super fast. And when I went to pay, I was surprised by the price. It was less than quoted. Cheeeehooo! So to all the people who reviews and said this place was a rip.....it wasn't like that for me. The price was more than fair and the service was top notch. Had my 2012 Tacoma rear sliding window replaced by Safelite. upon completion of installation, I noticed gaps on the sides of the rubber trim. I asked about the exposure to water and if he could use a sealant to take care of it. His response was...thats just the way it is because the new glass is not an OEM product. They don't do same day booking mobile appointments online. We got a confirmation text and email for my appointment that I booked early in the morning online. Waited a whole day from 8am-1pm. Called at 1pm to get an ETA and they said they dont do same day appointments. I told them I should have been notified of that and they shouldn't have sent me confirmation emails and texts and confirming my appointment. What a waste of my day. Please fix your booking online so other customers dont do the same thing I did. The lady on the phone was very kind and understanding of my frustration. As I stated in my previous review Safelite might have some bad drivers but they have KILLER customer service. Shortly after posting my one star review I broke the windshield on the Civic. I called Safelite because it was literally the name that everyone knows. From that call everything was just 1, 2, 3, done. They helped me arrange with my insurance, scheduled me into a slot and then pulled the glass and replaced it. Now, the 19 Civic does have brain damage so there was an issue with the forward radar that made the process take 2 days instead of 1, but that's not their fault. They kept me up to date for the whole process, managed to quench whatever demon was living in the radar and got the job done for only $500 (insurance downpayment). The new windshield has been serving us well and hasn't leaked at all. I would definitely come back and I can definitely forgive whatever driver was treating our neighborhood as the Nürburgring. This review isn't about their work but their poor customer service. We had 2 appointments scheduled but they never happened. The first they said was never in their system despite me calling 3 times and getting confirmation. The 2nd was definitely confirmed with multiple text and email reminders, but then being cancelled 15 minutes before their 4-hour window closed (we were told they would show up between 1-5pm, and at 4:45pm was texted a cancellation notice without any explanation).
