Booked an appointment on their website for a rear window replacement; my rear window was completely shattered so the car was not usable. I gave them the exact make, model, and even the privacy versus non-privacy glass that my particular Audi may have based on options purchased. They gave me a price and set a date, I paid in full. On Friday, the day before the Saturday appointment, they call to tell me the glass for my car is going to be ten more days, and it's also going to be another $250 on top of what I already paid because their system didn't have the right glass in it. So now I've let four wasted days go by when I could have been finding someone else to replace the glass, and my price is going up 29%. I ended up finding Rite Touch Glass who did the work for a lower price than the original quote. Once I booked with them, I called and cancelled with Safelite, and the person I spoke to said the credit would be issued immediately for the pre-paid appointment. That was a week ago, the person I spoke to has an extension that no longer works, I can't get anyone else on the phone there and they don't respond to their website contact form. So.... now I'm wasting tons of time trying to get them to credit me back before I give up and file a chargeback with Amex. Price-wise, they would have been making about $450 off the deal (their charge minus the OEM Audi glass price I found online across many websites). I have called their phone number multiple times and they want me to go to their website after they tell me on the phone they are transferring me to a customer service rep, a lady comes on and says "goodbye" What type of customer service is this. Note - I have a difficult truck (land cruiser) and it takes an experienced installer. Largo tech broke the molding pulling the window out. Stripped the rearview mirror screw, lost the wiper caps. They would not provide new molding or include it in the insurance request. In addition - they installed windshield crooked, and had to have it replaced. Avoid these guys if you have a complicated vehicle. Good news: The Safelite in Thonotosassa fixed ALL the screw ups. They installed new moldings ($350) at their cost, replaced window. Worth the 40 minute drive from Clearwater if you want someone experienced and great customer service to work on your vehicle. read more

So we had a rock hit the window on our Acura. USAA sent us to Safelite for the repair, got it scheduled and showed up early on a Saturday morning dropped the car off and then got called an hour later to be told that they didn't have a bracket they needed so we picked the car up and waited for the bracket to come, 3 weeks later we come and when we arrive we are told sorry we have the wrong windshield so have to head back home. They promised they would call when they have it. They called a few weeks later and said they were ready so we scheduled another appointment. I called yesterday to make sure we wouldn't waste our time again and was assure all the parts were there. Dropped it off again this morning and again we're told it would be no problem. Just got a call now that once again they ordered the wrong window and so we will have to come back a fourth time. Beyond ridiculous. Nothing other than saying "we understand why you are upset" I don't think they really do because they keep wasting our time. read more

A rock hit my windshield and so I scheduled an appointment through my insurance to get the windshield replaced through safelight in largo. Once scheduled, 5 days later they cancelled my appointment without letting me know and then proceeded to let me know the part would not be in for 3 weeks. A month later the part comes in and I finally get it rescheduled. I bring my car in and they are unable to fix it. Heather, the receptionist, calls me and is very derogatory, unprofessional and straight up rude. She proceeds to hang up with I ask to speak to Josh, the manager on staff. Heather was a terrible and unprofessional employee and will make me take my business elsewhere to actually finally get my windshield fixed. Josh was pretty knowledgeable but didn't apologize for the experience. read more

DO NOT SCHEDULE ANY APPOINTMENTS HERE. From the first moment I stepped in this place I should have ran. 1. Could not verify my insurance so i paid cash out of pocket and was told that I could file for reimbursement through their third party affiliated company. Went through that process and was told that they could not reimburse me because I do not have comprehensive coverage. Which is not accurate. 2. Front desk lady was VERY unprofessional. She could not type in my card information accurately to even run payment. Also, she could not even print me off an invoice after I asked for proof of payment. She said she would email it to me, which luckily I did receive. 3. After installation the tech came and spoke with me and asked for a positive review and told me that anything under a 9 was unacceptable. This was my first and last time to ever enter a Safelite. I had my windshield replaced due to a crack. The windshield was replaced but not sealed properly so a tech had to come back out to replace the windshield again. Now my auto defrost keeps coming on so I can't set my a/c to come through my dash vents and my rear view mirror fell off because it wasn't properly attached. I've been trying to get ahold of someone to get this fixed, but can't get past the automated system. There is no way to get ahold of a real person to discuss steps to fix these problems. Will never recommend Safelite to anyone. read more

First, the technician called with an earlier time which I would have taken except I wasn't home at that time. When he came on his appointed time, he started to do the job quietly and diligently, until he realized the replacement was the wrong one. He apologized, except I told him it was my fault because I didn't inform your office that I had a rain and humidity sensor, that was news to me! He explained he would need to reorder another windshield; I began to think that would take a few weeks before my windshield would be fixed. Much to my SURPRISE, he called me back the next day to set up another appointment because he got the right part. He would be able to install the next day, in total I waited 3-days after the initial mistake. I think that was GREAT! That's what I call professional service and great customer service. Safelite will NOT replace your windshield if you have sensors and cameras that need calibration and you have any type of leveling kit or lift on your vehicle. They will also tell you that their glass is the same as OEM glass and the only difference is the manufacturers logo on it. Absolutely not true at all. Stay away! read more

They Ordered the wrong part despite confirming with them twice and basically said " so sorry, but we can fit you in 8 days from now" and oh your cost is increasing. Weak back office that is more interested in looking at Facebook than doing their job. They DO NOT care about the customer---didn't even offer to shrink wrap the broken window. I contacted this company on a Thursday through my auto insurance And they gave me an appointment for Tuesday of the next week because Monday was a holiday, they told me they would be there between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. I decided to give a courtesy call around 11:00 a.m. to make sure they were still coming since they had not contacted me yet, instead the customer service rep told me they canceled my appointment because the service person did not show up for work and they called and left me a voicemail. Number one. They did not call and leave me any voicemail number two. The reason why I called at 11:00 a.m. was because I had not heard from them yet and number three. They acted like they did not care. It was no big deal and had no concern over the fact that I missed time from work because of their promise for service. I had to give at least one star I guess for this to post. However, I wouldn't even give them that if I had a choice in the matter. I explain to the customer service rep for us people who are working hard to fix things that are in this case. No fault of my own, we have to rely on them for their services in good faith and this is what we get??? As far as I'm concerned. I can't say that this company sucks but I can't say that they are totally unreliable, especially when it comes to communication and I'm basing that on this one incident that goes a long ways. read more

made an appointment through my insurance to have my windshield replaced due to a large crack. cleared off a Saturday only for them to come and tell me they didn't have the machine to recalibrate, no problem. rescheduled to the following Saturday and once again they couldn't do the appointment due to the machine not working for recalibration. they came out to my office the following Friday and once again couldn't do the appointment due to not having the machine for the recalibration. now I haven't heard from anyone to reschedule or even apologize for the continued inconvenience. Used this company in the past at different locations, but had trouble with online scheduling not going through correctly. Spend 4 hours at the shop trying to figure out why I was told I would have to pay out of pocket and my insurance didn't cover the appointment. Had a booked appointment that had to be canceled and get rescheduled 90 minutes later for a new appointment set by my insurance company. Seems old software and miss communication are a major factor. Staff was friendly but did not provide a lot of solutions on the fly except me taking care of the issue via phone with my insurance. Would have hoped for a bit more assistance. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. Had the windshield replaced on my 2006 Silverado and couldn't be more disappointed. When I picked my vehicle up from their shop they said they vacuumed it. Clearly they had not as there were pieces of old silicone everywhere on the dash, floor and seats. When I brushed the seat off with my hand I cut myself on a piece of glass that was left on the seat. When I got in my truck I noticed there were two black trim screws in the center console tray that came from somewhere.....didn't know where at the time. I began to notice that every time it rains my passenger floor board carpet gets soaking wet which eventually runs into the back seat depending on the amount of rain. After spending a full day trying to figure out where the leak was coming from I found it. The trim pieces on the A pillar of the doors that boarders the windshield were each missing a screw in the area where water runs off the windshield and down the door. Sure enough it was the two trim screws they left on my center console. Why didn't they put them back, probably because they were a pain to put in correctly. I also noticed they broke the trim tab on the cowling at the base of the windshield on the exterior. Since the trim is broken off where the screw is supposed to grab it no longer fits perfectly flush. Now I have may carpet all pulled up and am drying it out again with fans and towels so it doesn't grow mold. Thanks a lot Safelite, your work product is horrible. In response to Safelites comment below, not sure exactly what you are going to do. I am certainly not going to allow you to work on my vehicle again. Your technicians are responsible for the problem in the first place. I assume you are not going to reimburse me for the damaged carpet, underlayment and labor cost that it required to fix your mess up, so spare me on the please call us for a warranty issue bs. I'm not going to waste my time because it will just be a haste and nothing will get fixed. read more

Made my claim through Geico on May 10th. They let me chose my appointment for May 17th. The day of May 17th, 2 hours before my appointment, I received an email saying they did not have my windshield replacement and they would contact me when it came in. Not sure why they would even allow me to make an appointment if they had to wait for my windshield to arrive? Weeks went by and I hadn't heard anything from safelite. It is IMPOSSIBLE to contact and speak with an actual person at the location about my windshield. I eventually had to reach out to geico a month after my original appointment to figure out what was going on. Geico was able to make an appointment for that week. I don't understand why no one from Safelite contacted me. I arrive and they tell me it was going to be a 3 hour wait after i told them i would stay and wait for the car. Slightly frustrated with that i went out to see if someone would pick me up. Tell me why a tech then comes out and gets frustrated with me?? He rudely tells me that it shouldn't take more than 60 mins and that i should relax. Why tell a customer 3 hours just to tell them to relax it'll only take an hour? The customer service was absolutely awful. If i need a windshield replaced again I will make sure I chose somewhere other than this location. read more

An unpleasant experience, I wouldn't use this company again. First - They advertise that they come during their appointment. What a joke! The appointment they gave me was 12-5! The first technician they sent couldn't even make THAT window, he showed at 5:30. Which brings me to my Second beef - It took three tries to get this done! The first time they brought the wrong windshield, the second time, the windshield was damaged. They finally got the installation done on the THIRD appointment. These people scheduled me for in shop. Did not tell me and then I had to call the day of to find out they need to reschedule now. That after waiting two weeks and fighting over getting OEM glass for a few weeks prior to this. Then on the reschedule, I said so you are SURE someone is coming over on Thursday from the missed appointment on Monday. Oh, yes Mr. Cox I scheduled it myself. So I cancelled an important meeting to get this done. They again did not show up even though I had an email from them saying they were coming etc. They couldn't even find me in the system with their own referral number. They didn't even call to cancel the appointment I had to call to see if they were coming...which they were not and they told their superiors that they had cancelled today, Thursday, but neglected to call me and let me know!!! These people are abysmal. Completely unprofessional. I would not allow them to do any business for me in the future. Now calling progressive to find another company to handle the business as Safelite can't get anyone but this Largo shop to do it mobile or even within the next couple weeks. Pathetic. read more
