I brought my vehicle in to have a small chip repaired on my front windshield. The chip was less than half an inch in size. My appointment was scheduled for 4:00 pm, I arrived at 3:30 p.m. Before beginning the repair, I was informed that the chip might not completely disappear and that some minor evidence of it could remain. I understood and accepted that, as I have had chips repaired in the past. However, the technician also stated that while performing the repair, the entire windshield could break. While I understand that this is a possibility, the way it was presented made it sound highly likely, which raised concerns for me. I asked about the chances of the windshield breaking and whether this had happened before during similar repairs. I was told that it had. I then asked about the cost if that occurred and was informed that I would be responsible for my $500 insurance deductible, with the remaining balance covered by insurance. After reviewing the chip in person, the technician again stated that when the machine is applied to remove the air from the chip, the windshield could break. At that point, I felt uncomfortable proceeding. Given the small size of the chip and the possibility of my window breaking, I did not feel confident moving forward under those circumstances. As a result, I chose not to proceed with the repair at this Safelite and reschedule somewhere else. Unfortunately, this experience ended up being a waste of time. * UPDATE: Went to the Safelite in Rancho Cordova. The technician informed me that after repair, the chip will be smaller yet visible and there is a risk of the crack getting bigger during repair process. No discussion about my window breaking and them having to replace the whole window or discussion of my insurance deductible. Gave him the keys and 25 min later my car was done. read more

Recommended by family members to go with Safelite Lodi. I booked an appointment on the 29th of December in the morning a couple of hours after their opening time. Not as busy as the Stockton location as I was told. I was greeted at the front desk with Alfonso who assisted me with the process of getting my windshield replaced, addressed my question about re-tinting my windshield replacement, and even bought my out-of-pocket cost down. The replacement took a few hours, but I was in and out nonetheless, and I got live updates on the progress of my replacement. Overall, the Safelite crew in Lodi did an excellent job on replacing my windshield and recalibrating the ADAS system on my 2024 Kia Niro. No leaking or any signs of water intrusion especially after the rainy week, and all the safety systems in the vehicle work properly. Horrible quality material used for their windshields and their lifetime warranty is also a scam! I got replacement and 2 weeks later the safelight windshield had a small crack in it I assume an acorn or something may have fell on it but not sure. Safelight won't warranty the windshield if something may have fell on it. At this point if a small nut or leaf can crack it tells me the product is very poor and I am not safe with it on my car. Getting it replaced by a different company. I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS UNSAFE PRODUCT. And takes forever trying to reach a live person. My first Safelite experience was a very positive one! The staff at this location was very friendly, professional, and efficient. They finished my windshield replacement and calibration in under the estimated time and didn't try to upsell me on additional services. From the time that I first scheduled my appointment online to their call to advise that my car was ready, Safelite made a point of informing and reminding me at every turn. I scheduled an appointment to replace my husbands car windshield. During my phone conversation with the gal scheduling it she had asked if we would like to purchase windshield wipers to have the technician change out at the time of the appointment. I declined. I was not present at the appointment, and the technician asked my husband if he would like to purchase windshield wipers. He declined, but then the technician told him that the warranty for the windshield would not be valid unless he did purchase the wipers. So my husband did. They were over $75. When I got home and my husband told me this, I was pissed. Either the gal on the phone that I made the appointment with didn't explain that to me, or my husband was scammed. Either of which is horrible. The technician also broke all the clips on the molding and didn't have any replacements. I was sent a survey after the appointment, so I completed it which is something I don't usually do, thinking that maybe someone from Safelite would reach out to me, but nothing. Crickets. I will never do business with Safelite again and do not recommend them at all. In fact I notified my insurance Company of what happened to me and recommended they do not list them on their list of referrals. read more

So after seeing all the commercials I was very excited to use this business so when a rock broke my windshield I decided to make an appointment through my insurance and go through Safelite auto glass for the repair. I was told to come in on Monday but never given the time I showed up at 1:30 PM and then the man behind the desk argued with me and told me that I would've been given an exact time to show up I tried to explain to him that I was not given a time he insisted I was supposed to be there at 1 o'clock either way off to a bad start they then took my car in and 2 1/2 hours later they said they were done. when my car was finished I noticed what looked like either black grease or black adhesive all over the pillars by the windshield and then ask them about that they got a wet washcloth and started to wipe it off I'm not sure why you would want to give a customer their car back dirty but it seems like they were not concerned about it. As you can clearly see in one of the pictures or multiple pictures the molding around the windshield was never replaced Properly I asked them about that they told me not to worry about it and it would not affect my windshield whatsoever and I was told that that molding was a different size than normal and that's why it did not go back on properly that honestly does not make any sense to me it should have fit perfectly the way it was when I brought the car in. I have a monthly pass to a local car wash so after five days of letting the windshield finish adhering I decided to go to the car wash only to my surprise in having water streaming down the center of the inside of the windshield during the whole process of the car wash which was very upsetting. At first I was very excited to use this company but after this experience I can honestly say I will never go through them again to have anything glass related fixed on my vehicle because if they cannot properly install a windshield at their own shop with all the proper tools I don't know what makes anyone think they would do it properly if they came to your location. read more

I never write bad reviews but honestly wish I could give 0 stars. Paid the extra for the mobile service. Scheduled an early appointment between 8 and 12. Took a half day off from work to get a call at 1130 that they were running late and that they could only come later that day. I had to leave my keys in the car and get a ride to and from work(I expected my car to be done by 2) when I returned home my windshield was "installed". Every piece of trim that was removed was either broken or the fasteners to hold them down were completely missing. My car was covered in shavings from the old glue. And I also found a lot of my cars paint shavings on my dash. After watching the footage from my house cameras I could see the men using a grinder on my windshield. I understand this may be necessary but without resealing over the exposed metal mixed with the fact that the weatherstripping nor the trim that helps keep out water out were installed correctly it's very possible for my windshield frame to now rust. I contacted customer service with no reply. Then they sent me a survey which from my responses asked if I'd like to be contacted which I replied yes. I still have yet to be contacted. I paid over $400 for this simple window installation and now the damage that has been done to my car might even cost more. And the lack of professionalism with the unnecessary mess that was left. The new windshield wasnt even clean. This was unacceptable and I wish I went somewhere else. read more

Terrible workmanship! The technician left glass all over the seats and floor - after claiming to have vacuumed it up. When I called him to come back to vacuum he said "We are not a detail shop." Really disappointing to see 100+ pieces of glass pieces large enough to be picked up by your fingers, not to mention the finer particles everywhere. He seems like a nice kid but no one has taught him to consider the question of 'Is this the way I would do the work for myself?' In addition, a piece the window detail was broken during the window replacement. Safelite has ordered a replacement and will install it when they receive it. I had to use them because of AAAs contract and I would have happily given a 5* review BUT. The rear view housing unit was not put back on correctly and it fell off. I tried to put it on but it's awkward and couldn't do it. Not a big deal until I took my car to the location to have them put the housing unit back on and after I told them, I tried their worker know-it-all Paul told me that I probably broke it. One guy went out to fix it and when I got in and touched it, it fell off again. So this time, "know-it-all Paul" did it. I showed him my text to the company the day after the install letting them know that I had texted "for record" and he told me that I texted the wrong number. I understand. He then started to argue with me in the parking lot and told me he has a photogenic memory. WTF ever Paul. Grow up. Your interaction was super disrespectful and disappointing. As long as Know-It-All Paul works there, I'll never go back and I'll never recommend this place. BTW, getting accused of breaking something when I didn't was not cool. And it wasn't even broken but you were prepared to pass the blame to me. No point in calling to complain because nothing will happen. Get Paul some customer service 101 training. read more

Scheduled appointment for my truck for the front windshield to be replaced on 8/12. This was a Preferred Service Provider (PSP) that was on State Farm's list of service provider they recommend. Due to my busy week, I scheduled an appointment for Saturday 8/17/24, between hours of 11am-5pm, for their mobile service. So needing to get this done ASAP, I cut short a business trip in Las Vegas and drove back Friday 8/16 in order to be there for this appointment in the morning. So, it's now Saturday morning, at about 9:30am, I wake up and see a missed call from Safelite with a voicemail. They say the tech called in sick so they cancelled my appointment with no others options such come in to the shop location to get it done today or alternate day or time they could do it. Just a stupid message they cancelled it and to call a number back to reschedule. I called the number and dealt with a very rude individual who didn't care about the inconvenience they caused me and was told all I could do was reschedule and that there was nothing else they could do or would for me to help make this right. What a joke! Like they had no options for me to go to the shop today, as they had the glass there because the tech was schedule to come out and could have squeezed me in or even a "sorry we wasted your time". All they could do was tell me to reschedule! Sorry ass company with lazy horrible employees and customer service! All Safelite is good for is feel food commercials of how great they say they are or how they care, but in reality they are nothing more than a large corporation that does not give a shits about its customers or the inconvenience they caused. I decided to give my money and business to a local shop that actually cares and relies on referral and local customers to keep them in business. These large corporations don't care about anything but their bottom line. The Safelite Autoglass process of scheduling an appointment and processing a claim online with my Insurance company was fairly simple. The technician arrived on 2/9/22 and replaced the windshield on 2 vehicles. Unfortunately he broke the defrost wiring harness that attaches directly to the windshield on my 2021 Jeep Rubicon. The technician notified his supervisor, Jarome Jacob, who reached out to me right away. He requested I go to a dealership to get a price quote for the part and then he would have a technician install it. The part was $32 so I ordered it. It was on back order. By the time the part arrived I already had another crack in my windshield. So I went online and scheduled another windshield replacement with Safelite. I called Safelite to let's them know the wire harness would need to be installed when they changed the windshield. Jerome was not available, but that guy on the phone assured me it would not be a problem. He asked me to have the technician call him if there were any questions. When the technician arrived today, I explained the situation to him. He said that in his almost 30 years he had never replaced this type of part. So I called back to Safelite and was able to reach Jarome. I told him I would be taking the vehicle to Jeep to have the part replaced and that I would provide him the receipt for reimbursement. He told me that he would reimburse me for the part but not for the labor. He would rather I bring the vehicle to their shop and let one of his technicians replace it. At this point I was so frustrated, how was scheduling a mobile installment to save time worth any of this. In the mean time the technician left. So the damage wire harness was not replaced and the windshield was not replaced. When I asked to speak to the person Jarome reports to, he gave me the name Mike Archer, but would not provide a phone number. He said that he was not sure that he would want his number given out. He will have have Mike call me. I understand trying to save some money. But if you damaged my vehicle, I think I have the right to have it repaired by a factory trained technician. read more
