I DO NOT RECOMMEND SAFELITE MACON TO ANYONE!!! Safelite did not use an OEM windshield on my car. The technician also left the windshield wipers unattached. I didn't find this out until a week later when it rained and I could not use them. TERRIBLE! I should have received an OEM windshield on my 2023 vehicle and I'm extremely disappointed. fast forward 9 months to 10/20/2025: Rear view mirror came off. Took the car to the shop in Macon and they said they could not make the repair that day, that they would come the following Monday morning to my home and we chose the 8-1 window. We were told if the repair could not be accomplished, the windshield would be replaced again during that appointment. Fast forward to Monday, I get a call from the technician (Ricky, oddly enough the same technician that did the original work) around 9am, saying he'd be here at 5pm. What happened to 8-1? He also said he had no glass to make a replacement if it was needed. 5:30 pm rolls around and still no Ricky. I call him and he says "it going to be closer to 7pm". No sir, that's not going to work. I told him to have the store manager call me first thing the next day, and I have yet to hear from him. My husband reinstalled the rear view mirror. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! read more

This doesn't pertain to this location but Safelife in general. They're is absolutely no way to contact them by phone. The chat session, AI, says it cannot connect me directly. We are 30 minutes from the shop so it's not a quick drive. Simple question.... we did stop by this week and they are ordering the windshield and said it would take an hour to replace. The appointment made online days 3-4 hr. Which is it? Need to schedule the time accordingly and make arrangements to be able to wait. On 10/1 a technician came to my home to fix a crack the size of a small pea. However, when the machine was put on my windshield it created a crack about 4 inches long. The technician stated that it was because the vehicle had been sitting in the sun. So, if the why put a machine on it if there is a possibility it will create a problem. The technician can his supervisor who ask me to bring in vehicle on Friday 10/3 at 10 am and it would be taken care of. I got there and explained to Stephen and he said it would cost $1100 to replace. I expected to pay something but not $1100 since it was due to the negligence of the technician. read more

This has to be one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a business. I had 2 side windows broken and scheduled an appointment with this company to repair my glass. After 2 no shows, I went directly to the Safelite location and spoke to the manager. She promised to take care of the situation and rescheduled the appointmnet. Well, they were a no show for the 3rd time. They claim the glass came in damaged and it needed to be re-ordered. A week later, they called and told me one of the technicians dropped the glass and broke the new piece. They are a sorry excuse for a business and i have wasted countless hours waiting for them to show up. Don't take your car there if you want it repaired properly and on time. I had my wind shield replaced on June 6th, 2024. The wind shield does not fit my vehicle. It does not fit where my rear-view mirror attaches to the windshield. My wipers do not work properly. Safelite sent a tech out on July 3rd, 2024, and he could not correct the problem. He said it is an aftermarket windshield and sometimes it will not fit correctly. He informed me to contact the Manager at the Macon, GA facility. On July 5th I drove 25 miles to the facility and spoke to the Manager Stephen. Stephen looked at the vehicle and stated that the brackets do not line up and said he will need to order a special windshield from GMC. I informed Shephen that the wipers do not work correctly, and I was driving on the highway, and it started to rain and when I turned on the wipers they would not come on. I told him I had to pull over because I could not see. I was driving 70 mph on the highway and could not see. This put my life in danger and my $75,000.00 truck in jeopardy. He had a tech look at the windshield and he made a correction, but the wiper still do not work correctly. I explained to Stephen that I would be out of town for about 10 days, and he could order the windshield and I would bring the vehicle in when I returned to town around July 15th, 2024. I called and could not get in touch with Stephen for over a week once I returned to town. I called Customer Service, and they connected me with the shop and Stephen on Monday July 22nd. Stephen said he will look into the problem and call me back tomorrow. Stephen has not called me back as of today July 24th, 2024. This has been a nightmare; my vehicle does not work properly and my rear-view mirror just hangs and I cannot use it. I have been trying to get this resolved for almost two (2) months, all I get is the can kicked down the road. read more

Safelite came remotely to repair my windshield. They scratched my hood, chipped the paint, installed the windshield wipers upside down so that they did not work, and left the rear view mirror wobbling. I have never left a negative review in my life but this one was warranted. They did send out another repair tech to fix the mirror and wipers, but have not addressed the paint iI have called and emailed Safelite with zero response. My windshield was hit with a rock and was spidering up the glass. My insurance company recommended this company to replace the windshield. I call and set up and appointment for the next day and was given the time frame of 9-1. I took the day off and was called around 11 and was informed they didn't have the windshield. They apologized and rescheduled an appointment for two days from the original because there was supposed to be a new shipment. I was given a ridiculous time frame again and decided to have them call me an hour before so I could just leave work. I never received a call from the tech or the company. When I called them, they said they still didn't have the windshield but there was a shipment coming that night. I just canceled the appointment and went to the Auto Glass Guy. I don't mind waiting until the windshield is in the warehouse, but don't give me the runaround. Just say you don't have it in. read more

Phone staff were VERY polite, helpful and understanding. I had 2 no call, no shows. The first time my glass was in to replace my windshield but it was not the correct glass, I had to call in at the end of my time frame before I found out. I was told the shop manager was going to call me to get it rescheudled, a few hours later I called back and spoke to a rep in store, who again was VERY polite and apologetic. Her manager told her that he called me (which never happened) but they rescheduled me for the following Monday and changed the address as I would be at work. I called the day of my second appointment (today) with an 8-1 time frame, the rep I spoke to said my glass was received and that I was on schedule, I was the 2nd person scheduled for the day, after a few hours, I called back wanting an ETA and was told the tech did not have my glass and he was calling the shop to get it worked out. They said the tech would call me back in 15-20 minutes. It has now been over 2 hours (1 hour PAST my scheduled time) and still no call from company or the tech. I canceled my appointment due to no contact. I understand things happen and scheduling gets mixed up but my frustration is not with that, it is with the lack of communication. 5 hours is a long time frame to wait when there is no contact that it's not happening. I canceled my service and have gone with another company that was not only cheaper, but better with communicating. read more

This is the second total failure with this shop. We needed an emergency replacement for next day drive to Chicago for my son'd funeral! Drove to shop, they took the car in & 2 hrs later I'm called by front desk to let me know they won't replace the windshield because the mirror screw was stripped. We had to take care of that ourselves, they couldn't do it themselves. What? WHO stripped it? That was an original windshield & original mirror! "Not their problem, we can drive the car safely". Says who? The clueless gal, busy filing her nails responds: "My manager says so." End of conversation. But they were busy opening a claim with my insurance before they stripped the screw, although the replacement cost was less than my deductible! My agent was outraged when I called him and asked not to pay them anything. Previous replacement: they brought the wrong windshield, tried to install regardless but had to give up. 2 days later, another technician comes, correct windshield. Car after installation: oozing glue all over the board, car was ruined, mirror hanging. WHO/WHAT ARE THESE PEOPLE? Why are they still in business? I will NEVER use them again if they were the last shop in town! Go to a mom&pop shop instead. THIS LEVEL OF INCOMPETENCE & lack of accountability is shameful and should be illegal. read more

Tech was a no call/no show after waiting literally all day long, 8am-6pm, at my place of employment with my wife's minivan! I waited well after my working hours and called my Wife to see if she'd heard anything from them. Well considering that you can't get an actual person on the phone EVER, she called the tech (almost 7pm) whom said that he had tried to reach out to her via text (LIES) and let us know that he was still on another job almost 2 hours away and that he wouldn't be able to replace her windshield because it was dark outside by this time! Safelite claims that they don't service our area where we live (10 miles from my job) but I know that's another lie! My Wife had made this appointment way in advance and we had to change all of our schedules, borrow another vehicle, Wife missed work, etc just to get our windshield replaced! The office had already confirmed our appointment 2 days before and the tech had confirmed just the day before! So instead of making things right, Safelite only wanted to reschedule us for a whole week out! The absolute worst!!! read more

I had a rock that hit my windshield and put a nasty chip in the glass. I went online and filed an insurance claim. Most insurance companies cover a chip repair if you have comprehensive. Safelite had an appointment available for the next day so I took the van in and the repair was done in about 15 minutes. The chip didn't totally disappear which they explained is normal but it is way less noticeable and now it has a much lower chance to spread to a large crack that would be cause to replace the windshield. I made an appointment and my appointment window was 8 AM to 1 PM. At 2:30 PM I called because I had not heard from anyone yet, the technician called me back. He told me that he was overbooked for his morning appointments but would be here as soon as possible. Then he told me if I wasn't in a covered area he wouldn't be able to fix my windshield because of the rain. He apologized that nobody called sooner to reschedule my appointment. I had to replace my windshield and these folks were absolutely fantastic. It took around forty minutes to completely replace my windshield, and the bill came in about a hundred and fifty dollars lower than the estimate I'd gotten when USAA arranged it over the phone. I used these folks because they were the ones that USAA sent me to, but I'd strongly recommend that if you have any choice at all, you go with these folks for any window- or windshield-related needs. read more

They did an amazing job on my windshield in my 2004 Toyota 4Runner, they came to my job and had it done within an hour of me getting off work. I had an appoint , showed up 5minutes early, had 2 beg 1 of the 3 people sitting around to help me! When 1 did finally help, they kept pushing me from 1 person to the other just to finally tell me the guy I was there to see wouldn't be back for a couple hours if not more. Horrible service. Booked an appointment. Was out of town when the glass broke, so I needed to be serviced so I could return home. Was told my window was from 1-6pm. No one showed up for 4 of the 6 hours. We received a text that said our technician was "on the way," but when they never showed, we were forced to call looking for them. At that time, we were informed that someone called us this morning to inform us of a last minute cancellation.(I work in a area where there is no cell service.) They didn't leave a voice message. They only called once. We never received any updates on our appointment status, and we were still getting texts expecting the technician. Safelite blamed us not answering their call and not being notified of the cancellation, despite them not following up with that notification to ensure that we were made aware correctly. They were not apologetic. They didn't offer me anything for my 6 hour wait. The best they could do was send the tech out the following morning. I will fulfill my appointment because I need to get my window fixed, but otherwise I wouldn't use this provider. For a company who touts speedy service and the efficiency of their deliver option, this location is not up to par. Very careless and unprofessional, 0/5, do not recommend. I will be demanding a discount for my time and the inconvenience. read more

I researched windshield replacement online and decided that the rating and price that Safelite offered suited me. I placed my order online and accepted the somewhat lengthy wait. I do live 30 miles from their facility. I had the choice of immediate installation at their facility or wait for them to come to me. Since the installation was absolutely NOT urgent, I chose for the home installation. The service was performed exactly when they said and was completed without delay. The whole experience was satisfying and without stress. The installer was personable and courteous. He explained the entire process along with their warranty and completed the installation efficiently. He called me ahead of time to let me know exactly when he would arrive and afterword encouraged me to contact Safelite if I had any questions or problems. read more
