I DO NOT RECOMMEND SAFELITE MACON TO ANYONE!!!…read more Safelite did not use an OEM windshield on my car. The technician also left the windshield wipers unattached. I didn't find this out until a week later when it rained and I could not use them. TERRIBLE! I should have received an OEM windshield on my 2023 vehicle and I'm extremely disappointed. fast forward 9 months to 10/20/2025: Rear view mirror came off. Took the car to the shop in Macon and they said they could not make the repair that day, that they would come the following Monday morning to my home and we chose the 8-1 window. We were told if the repair could not be accomplished, the windshield would be replaced again during that appointment. Fast forward to Monday, I get a call from the technician (Ricky, oddly enough the same technician that did the original work) around 9am, saying he'd be here at 5pm. What happened to 8-1? He also said he had no glass to make a replacement if it was needed. 5:30 pm rolls around and still no Ricky. I call him and he says "it going to be closer to 7pm". No sir, that's not going to work. I told him to have the store manager call me first thing the next day, and I have yet to hear from him. My husband reinstalled the rear view mirror. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

I would rate the mechanic work a solid 4, and the customer service also a solid 4 (assuming they are not in cahoots with the location owner vis-a-vis usurious fees tacked onto your service). I had an oil change on the same vehicle today (8/20/25) on which I had an oil changed performed on 5/15/25. I brought my receipt from the 5/15 service to ask- it seemed a little high. When I questioned the $4.50 "Shop Supply Fee," I was told it was to dispose of oil. This seems odd, and a bit high, considering many local car shops will take your used oil for free, and that used oil is typically worth between $1.50-6.00 per gallon. The "Shop Supply Fee" on 8/20/25 had increased to $10.24. That is a 125 percent increase in a dubious (aka "bs") charge over a period of three months. The fees charged for "State" and "County" are also different, and I'm not sure how they change an annual tax rate between May and August. In other words, this location will add and change prices at their whim. The prices advertised are lower than the prices they charge. It's called "fraudulent inducement" and "detrimental reliance" under the law, but I don't have the time or desire to pursue it legally, so I figured I would warn everyone about these tactics before they go so they can make an informed decision regarding their car maintenance providers.
