I had a windshield replaced which went well enough, but what really grinds my gears is what I believe must be their attempt at cheap advertising. They park their safelite van right on the corner of Grant and 28 in such a way that its nearly impossible to see past when trying to make a right turn onto Grant (to head south) from 28. Several times I've been at the red light trying to turn right and nearly got into an accident because their van blocks the view of traffic that is heading south on Grant. So, I guess I'd give 4 stars for the service and minus 3 stars for creating a safety issue with thier free advertising technique. read more

After an insurance claim (who sent me to Safelite), they proceeded to install a defective window (no defroster leads), claiming I would get a warrantee repair for free within a week or so, Months later, many calls, endless transfers and no window, nor any calls back. They are a franchise with a corporate office that has no control over the terrible service they give. No one ever calls back, appointments are just rescheduled, and complaints are not responded to. Just look at the feeble responses the owner gives to reviews. Save time and money, the national jingle is misleading. Use the Manassas Shop and you will deeply regret the mistake. I went there this morning I had a small crack in my windshield, they were quick & efficient!!

Would give it zero if I could. Got quote for windshield replacement. It was acceptable. Before the appointment, they modified the quote to include "camera recalibration" fee of $600. Tesla's have auto-recalibrating cameras and even a "recalibrate" button if you want to force it to recalibrate on your own. Safelite said they wouldn't do the service without that recalibration fee. I cancelled and found a guy who would did it cheaper then the original Safelite quote. Clicked the calibration button and 10 minutes later of driving it was done. Nice try Safelite. read more

They ordered or the delivered to wrong windshield parts twice and offered to do a mobile install to make it up to me and then the manager refused to honor the printed contract price for the windshield. After calling safelite corporate and they customer support personnel authorizing her to honor the contract (which is strange, why sell the windshield at the contracted price to say you can't honor that) She still refused me after having again contact the corporate customer service department, they finally forced the manager to honor the contract. This is my default windshield repair business under my insurance. I've had only great experiences with this staff. The shop is always clean, has popcorn/coffee/water, restroom is available, comfortable seating, and pleasant staff. This shop is in a convenient location in the center of Old Town. They take appointments and are accommodating if they have the time to complete the process. There is a covered garage to cure the sealants and their work has been satisfactory to me and my insurance company. read more

USAA referred me to Safelite for a cracked windshield that needed to be replaced. I made an appointment and was told it could take up to 2 hours for the entire appointment. I brought my car in the day of my appointment - I arrived 15 minutes early for an 11:00 am appointment. It was 11:21 am when they pulled my vehicle in to the repair bay. They completed the work and vacuumed the car - in about an hour. My complaints about Safelite - have nothing to do with the work that was done. I am dinging them over this physical location. It's a really old building that needs a major retrofit - and the place is tiny, including the parking lot. The parking lot is hard to get in and out - and there is very little parking. The waiting room has an old flat screen TV hanging on the wall - with a tiny amount of available TV channels - which as far as I call - were in standard definition - not HD. I was attempting to watch ESPN - and quickly found even these basic channels were unavailable. There is a WiFi network for customers - but it was so slow - as to be unusable. I had to disconnect from the WiFi and just use cellular to get anything done. #Safelite read more

What a bunch of clowns that work here. I made an appointment on 9/17 and set it up for the following Friday 9/24 at 10 am. I arrived on time checked in and was planning to leave the truck with them as I got ready to leave they stopped me from leaving to confirm they had the right windshield and it as not broken, well it was broken so no chance of replacing it today. This was not a problem as they at least stopped me from leaving the truck and calling me later to tell me they couldn't do it. Anyway, Jeffrey apologized and said they would get a new windshield in as they had 4 of them in stock and it would take about 5 days to come in. He told me that they would call me to set the appointment again when the windshield comes in. I told him that sounds good and he said just in case you don't hear from us here is the office phone number to call us. So on October 4th after not hearing from them I called, of course you have to call numerous times as no one answers the phone, after multiple attempts I finally get someone on the phone and ask about my replacement windshield and give him the Work order number, he sounds lost and confused about the replacement order and the future appointment and asks why I cancelled the last appointment and I tell him I didn't cancel it you guys broke the replacement windshield. He proceeds to tell oh okay yeah it's on order and should be here by the end of the week. Today October 12th I tried calling and could not get through as the phone either rings or you get a busy signal. So out of frustration I decide to log in to the website and see about my appointment based on my work order number and I see the appointment is completely cancelled and the money refunded back to my credit card, so I checked my credit card and see it was refunded back on 9/25 the day after the initial appointment. So for two and a half weeks I have been waiting for the windshield and was completely misled about the 2nd replacement window being ordered. Needless to say I will not be using them and would not recommend them. I have called the dealership and set a new appointment with a more trust worthy glass company. Safelite can also skip the response back to me as I won't be contacting you on your FB or whatever social media you want me to contact you on. Your fake concern plays no bearing on this outcome as you will not take any steps to fix your poor customer performance and will continue to degrade your customer base. I had an appointment with this location to have my windshield replaced. After about 30 minutes they called to say the windshield they had in stock was damaged so they would have to order a new one, but the warehouse they use was currently out of stock. I was told they would call me the following week to follow up on the status. Over a week went by and they didn't call me so I tried to call them a few times and was met with no answer. My insurance company also tried to call and no answer. I contacted a new company and had my windshield replaced the following day. I would avoid this location. Terrible customer service. read more

The dude told us "your insurance needs to deal with it" and just drove off leaving us with a broken windshield. They came out to fix rock chip. was perfect chip to be repaired and was the day after it happened. the chip was 1/2 inch. 2 weeks later the crack is an inch and a half and they say they can only replace it now. so they do a crappy job repairing it and then hope to get the replacement because you're already contacting them. I'm not having a good experience with Safelite in Manassas. Friday I took my car in to see if they could repair a bad rock chip, or to replace my windshield if that failed. I was sent here by my insurance company, USAA. The repair did not go well and the technician agreed that a replacement windshield would be a better option. So, they replaced my windshield, I paid $350 and went home. When I took the tape off the top after an hours as instructed I noticed the gap between to top of the windshield and the car frame was now very large. I also noticed the windshield was not OEM, but was a Chinese aftermarket version. Since I have another car that is the same model, I compared the two. The gap should have been about .07 inches, but in the car with the Safelite windshield it was now .17 inches. Sounds small, but I assure you it is a very noticeable difference. I called into Safelite and was told they could send someone out on Monday to look at it. I declined and took my car back in on Saturday instead. The technician agreed that the gap was now too large and scheduled a warranty visit for Monday. So, now I have to go back and wait again on Monday while they try to properly fix my windshield again. I really wish I had gone somewhere else for this work. read more

Last week I made an appointment for them to come to my house and the technician didn't bring the correct windshield They have the make and model of my car plus my VIN number. I made a second appointment and it happened to snow this morning So I'm wondering if my appointment is even on. Got a confirmation email that thee technician will call. But come 1145am no one called. My appt was 8am-12noon. So I called the office and finally the technician called. He then asks me if I have a covered garage due to the possible rain etc. So I had to informed him that my survey before I made the appointment said "NO". Why does a company make you fill out the form if no one is going to read it!???!!! I'm not happy with this company. They used to be so good. Made an appointment, they had my VIN number, my license plate #, my make/ model everything and when I arrived for my appointment they said they had input the wrong glass into the system and that they didn't have the right glass for me. They then said OK we can order the glass and if you come back in two days and pay $700 (twice the quoted price) we will fix your glass. I think not! They couldn't repair the crack like they do on TV, and all that stuff about "safe, reliable" service isn't really what you're going to get. Update: Eventually got someone on the phone who says they will fix the issue- hopefully that happens! I have an appt. Monday. This company is impossible to get in contact with. Scheduled my glass to be there on the day of the appt and they call me 3 hours into the 8am-12pm to tell me they haven't received the glass yet. Had to take off work to make the appointment work and then I end up missing a day of payed work for nothing. But wait, it gets better! Ever since I had the glass replaced and sensors recalibrated I've had trouble with the auxiliary switches in my car and also the sensors are absurdly sensitive, slammed on the brakes for me while I was 7 feet behind a car which A) is not safe for the people behind me and B) not safe for me. Would love to talk to someone but my calls always go to a voice messaging system or the dumb robot lady that doesn't understand anything. -3 stars is my final rating, go anywhere else. read more

My husband got a crack in his windshield from a rock hitting it. He contacted our insurance who then set him up at this Safelite location because the one in Fairfax was booked out for weeks. After the windshield was replaced they said they couldn't calibrate his car and we would have to take it to the dealership. At the dealership they discovered that when Safelite replaced the windshield they broke the camera, windshield wipers, and didn't even install the windshield correctly. He was given a loaner so the dealership could amend Safelite's poor workmanship. Thankfully Safelite was found at fault and we didn't have to pay the additional $3k because they paid the dealership directly. But man, what an ordeal. If this ever happens again we will just go straight to the dealership and get reimbursed from our insurance because this whole thing took almost a month to repair. read more

My insurance required me to use Safelite to fix my completely cracked windshield. After the windshield being replaced and my front cameras re-aligned, my windshield wipers don't work on the auto-detect function anymore. What's more frustrating is that I paid for the service however, the shop called me back weeks later saying that I never paid for the service. After figuring out my fraud prevention kicked in on the charge, I've called their location nearly a dozen times in order to straighten things out, but not a single answer to my calls. A few months ago this company was called up to fix a windshield. A few months later, it cracked. The company was called back and offered to fix it for free. The first time, the guy came out and did not have the correct windshield. The second time, the same thing happened. The third time he was supposed to come between 12-5 and by 4.45p hadn't shown up. The fourth time he was supposed to go to my mother's place of business (it was for her SUV) and he "got lost" (ie; he didn't show up). They had someone from the office call the next day to see how the experience has gone... they must be really out of the loop if they didn't know a windshield replacement had been scheduled FOUR TIMES yet had never been completed... Don't bother. I set up my appointment at this location through my insurance, and when I arrived, I was told they were not going to work on my car. They said they had "after-market" glass and that my dealer (which would need to recalibrate the sensors with the new windshield) wouldn't touch this so-called after-market glass. Never mind that I had to come to them (they brag so frequently about coming to a customer's home but that wasn't even offered as an option - how convenient). First: if they knew I needed manufacturer's glass in order for the dealer to handle the sensor recalibration (which is what my insurance agent told me my car would need), WHY WOULD THEY ORDER AFTER-MARKET??????? Don't act as though poor planning on your part is an emergency on mine, Safelite. Second: the guy didn't even have my correct name. I never mentioned the other person on my auto insurance policy to anyone, but the person from Safelite that arranged the appointment never once referred to me by my correct name after my multiple attempts to give him my name, and the person at the appointment called me by the wrong name. Hello - my name is CHRIS. It's not that damned complicated. Third: they said they left a voicemail. Never got said voicemail at all until an hour after the appointment time, so that's just technology not working. But it does not save them from their incompetence. They called early in the morning on the day of the appointment and did not give me any information that they could not work on the car. If there is something wrong with the appointment, that's the detailed message I needed - don't just tell me to call you back! And they still didn't have my name right. That's exceedingly unprofessional and unacceptable. Such ridiculous excuses for customer service does not deserve a single star. When you run up and down I-95 as we do in NoVa, you learn to expect the unexpected. On a recent Richmond run, I had a rock kick up from a Benz that put a nice chip in my windshield. My insurance company recommended, this place. They got me in and out in 40 minutes. The staff was professional and friendly. I would highly recommend them as well. These jokers are incompetent. One would think that they replace everything that you have back in your window as they found it. These jokers failed to replace my community's parking pass and my car was towed. I had to pay $160 to retrieve my car and could not find the visitor's card. Anywhere in my car. When I return to the location, the worker immediately found it underneath the passenger seat which I had checked and it was not there. These folks are cruddy and when I sent in the review and asked to be contacted to see if I could retrieve a portion of the $160 or the entire amount. No one contacted me. I have had Safelite repair my windshield before and provide excellent service so I wrote a glowing review about that back in 2019. So I asked State Farm if I could use them again. Today was the complete opposite experience and nothing like the ads on TV. I had an extended wait (a week?) for the day of install. Stayed home for the 8-12 window. Repair truck showed up around 10:30. Good. No sooner out of the truck than he says he has the wrong glass and it will take another eleven days to get the right one. Had lots of excuses for why it wasn't there, offered contradictory reasons and tried to sell being there on time as meeting good customer service. When I said that being on time is good but not being able to provide the desired service doesn't qualify as good customer service and does not match the prolific TV ads about Safelite's service, he said that that TV is "just media and this is reality." Wow. Meanwhile he is on the phone with a supervisor telling him that I am not going to be happy. What kind of response did he think I was going to have? I don't blame the installer, just a system that doesn't work like it is advertised and customer service training that doesn't apologize or admit when they make a mistake that eats up your time and your plans. I initially scheduled with a local company, Mr. Cee's, but they never showed up which I found out later (after my appointment window 10-12) that it was due to them not receiving the glass yet. The lack of communication and organization of this made me decide to pay a little more and schedule with Safelite. I was happy to find out that my experience with Safelite from scheduling to the completion of the work was organized and went well. I showed up 30 mins early but they took it to the back right away and finished in 45 mins! The employees at the Manassas location were friendly and worked fast to finish my windshield.
