From start to finish this was a very positive experience (other than the chip in my windshield!). I went to the Safelite website and after answering a few questions I was provided a rough estimate of the cost and allowed me to immediately schedule with either the nearest location or a mobile visit to my house. The mobile repair is exceptionally convenient however there is a surcharge of approximately $20 and availability is several weeks out. I chose the in-store repair. I was pleasantly greeted and offered a seat in their comfortable waiting room. My car was immediately serviced and both the price and the estimated time to complete the repair were right on target. Now that the repair is done you would not even know that I had damage to my windshield. I am confident that the tiny dot on my windshield won't expand into a big crack and a more expensive problem later. Highly recommend Safelite auto glass to help you with any windshield issues. I paid extra $220 for OEM glass on my two year old Explorer Platinum. They gave me a non tinted windshield which is OEM on Platinum @Ford. While the work they did was great, the end product not so great. This was North 90th location in Omaha NE. read more

We utilized Safelite with insurance for a glass repair and couldn't be happier with the experience. They contacted us within 24 hours of placing the claim and had us scheduled for repair within 2 days. The only reason we couldn't do mobile repair was due to our specific vehicle type requiring recalibration for the safety features on the dash/glass (cameras, auto cruise control, etc.) but that was explained before scheduling. Communication was great throughout the day of repair, both through phone call and their mobile website tracking. The glass repair cost was comparable to other places we checked before going with insurance. I will never use Safelite again. I had used them in the past to have a rock chip filled and had success. We recently had another rock chip that was smaller than a dime. They came to fix it and gave us a small warning that sometimes the machine can break the glass but it rarely happens, the machine broke the glass about a foot, all the way to the edge of the window. Their story turned into that it happens often. We did some research after the fact and saw that in fact this does happen very often. They then asked us if we would want to schedule our $700 window repair with them. They offered no help to help cover the glass they created a large crack in and we had to pay $500 out of pocket to reach our deductible and have fixed. read more

Misleading price quote. They take all your personal information to get a price quote. Then when you go to checkout on the website, it automatically adds a $39.99 recycling fee. That fee should be disclosed in the price quote since you are required to accept it or disposal of the old windshield. Shady business practices and horrible customer service. read more

A different company had done a good job replacing the windshield a month previously -- it wasn't their fault we needed a new one so soon -- but could not fit us in for several weeks. filed an insurance claim to have a rock chip repaired, after waiting a week the tech gets to my house and runs his finger across the chip and accuses me of already having it filled and then states there is nothing that he can do and that it shouldn't spread. What? first of all why would I have it filled twice? typically once the work is done it is covered by that company. Funny thing is this is the company that put that windshield in my car in the first place after a chip spread a year ago. I called my insurance company who called safelite and she proceeded to tell me that maybe it was chipped when I bought the car or fixed by a dealer And that I could bring it down for a second opinion. No thanks, I mean I don't know how many times I have to say that it happened while I was driving the car a week or so ago when I scheduled the original appointment. My windshield took some abuse last week and stopped a projectile from entering my vehicle on the freeway, probably from a large truck. I shopped around to find a reasonable vendor that could install a replacement that was not a standard glass windshield. Safelite ended up being the selection. I found an online coupon which helped. Calibration was an extra cost for my vehicle and I also had an after market camera recorder that needed to be resealed on the new windshield that they performed without any extra cost. Even though they requested 3 hours, it only took less than 2 hours. The waiting area was clean and I could have waited there but chose to drop off and return after the repairs were completed. I had the worst experience of any repair business I have ever used. Had an appointment to fix a small gravel crack in my windshield. The service person said it was a failed attempt. The crack is now bigger than before, the manager was not in, and I have been unable to reach a local number to talk to someone. Took my car in on 12/30 to get a new windshield. Picked it up a few hours later. Today noticed there was tape on the top of windshield and on the top of the car. Called the office. They said it could be removed. I said I was worried about it damaging the paint. They AIA it would not. I carefully tried to remove the tape and paint came up. Contacted Michael​ Conove, Store Manager, office 402‑676‑319, Michael.Conover@safelite.com He said it was my fault for leaving the tape on for over 4 hours. He's unwilling to do anything to fix it or assist with fixing the situation. No information was given about the tape being there or how/when to remove it. Our windshield had received a stone chip and we took it here to have it filled. It looked fine initially, but it soon spread into a crack. My insurance did not cover the cost of the repair so I was apprehensive about what it was going to cost us to replace the windshield. No worries. Safelite applied the money I paid for filling the windshield pit to the new windshield. They really went out of their way to get it approved due some insurance complications with my insurance. I was also pleasantly surprised in that the technician that installed the windshield brought the keys to us and explained the whole process and the dos and don'ts of carry for it. The technicians name was Jeffery and he was wonderful. The whole replacement took under an hour even with having to recalibrate the safety systems. I would highly recommend them. read more

I had an appointment that was set up by my insurance company for Monday, July 5, 2021. The reason the date matters is that when I got there I was 5 minutes late. I did not see this as a problem since I was looking at 4 work bays that were all empty when I drove up and very few cars in the lot. My appointment was not only to replace a broken windshield it was to realign a camera behind the windshield for driving lane alignment. I asked and every told my no problem, they can do it. When I got there I was told that in the last 5 minutes my appointment had magically been given away and I would need to schedule later in the week. I don't know if everyone wanted to go home early because it was the day most of us were celebrating the 4th of July or if the only guy who could do the work didn't show up or if they just didn't want to do the work. Regardless I was treated very unprofessionally. I am a business owner and I appreciate that sometimes things don't work out but I never look at a customer and say, sorry you are five minutes late so you need to reschedule and by the way get out of here because I have a cup of coffee that I haven't finish. I would have accepted that someone didn't show up or if I was called before driving 2 vehicles the shop to drop off the car, and simply asked if I could reschedule. I am going back to the drawing board and finding a more reputable company to do the work. I can't trust the them to do the work correctly and if there is another problem, I can't trust them to tell me the truth. Had my windshield replaced here after it had initially been cracked. They then replaced the glass again under warranty, but I still had to return to the store and waste more of my gas and time. After it had been replaced the second time I assumed it would be good, I was wrong and the glass cracked 3 days after installation. I once again had to waste more time and gas to have my glass replaced. I am hoping this time it is good. If I was you I would not come to this store and look for somewhere else. They had also shown up late to an appointment scheduled 12-5 and ended up showing up at 6. Please don't go to this store. read more
