Absolute Nightmare Service - Lazy, Unprofessional, and UnsafeI had an incredibly frustrating experience with Safelite. The process was plagued by scheduling errors, gross incompetence, and a complete lack of safety standards.Here is exactly what happened: Massive scheduling failure: The technician arrived an hour early without warning. He never rang the doorbell, despite all my cars being in the driveway. I waited for four hours before realizing he had already come and left. I then had to wait three days for a new appointment. Refused to work: The technician claimed my windshield was unfixable because a tree branch was lodged in the frame. He refused to touch the branch. I had to physically remove it myself. I then had to send photos to the manager just to prove the frame was fine and get them to return. Wrong parts ordered: They ordered the incorrect rear glass for my vehicle. This mistake delayed my repairs by an additional week. Dangerous cleanup practices: The technician left broken glass shards inside and on top of my car. When I asked him to clean it up, he literally blew the glass shards directly into my lawn. Safelite refused to take responsibility for cleaning up this safety hazard. Poor craftsmanship: The glue used to secure the window has a terrible chemical odor that is still stinking up my car weeks after the installation. The Verdict: The entire experience was miserable. Willing to waste your time Took my car for windshield replacement. They told me before the appointment that if the new windshield was in any way damaged, we would have to reschedule. Very reasonable, though it seemed odd they wouldn't have checked the windshield before hand. Sure enough - I leave and an hour later they tell me the new windshield is scratched so we have to reschedule. Initial manager was very nice and professional about it, but obviously inconvenient. Reschedule appointment comes around, I drop it off and sure enough 40 minutes later "hey the new windshield is scratched, have to reschedule" Again I say "why in the world are you waiting until I drop off my car and am gone to check it?" The guy says "hey man we do 30-40 cars per day we don't have time for that..." Mind you I've not taken time off work twice, dropped off my car, uber home, have to uber back to pick my car with no work done. Total waste of my time. AND this is after they call, email, text a hundred times to confirm you're coming, again and again and again. Fool me twice as they say...never again will I go to through safelite. read more

had Davon come to my house and we was great and noticed the camera on new windshield before installing was crooked and that it would not calibrate so we had to reschedule. He didn't want the same type of windshield for the next time but the company sent it anyway. He didn't want to install but the office said he should. He installed it and it wouldn't calibrate again!! If you read the reviews for the other location in Springfield you will find that this review is just more of the same and that this company is severely lacking when it comes to courtesy, attention to detail and professionalism! I fill out an on line form giving the details of my car and schedule a mobile appointment for them to come to my home while I am conveniently on vacation. The tech arrives earlier than expected. Good sign. I leave him to it and to it he went for over an hour in the 90 degree heat only to summon me to the door where I saw my damaged windshield had been put pack on! He had the wrong size glass. He said it happens more often than he'd like to admit. WTF?!?! Why ask the make and model of the car if you're going to not double check the size before you send someone out?? Worst yet, I have to wait four days for the glue to dry before he can reinstall. That was on a Monday. I wake up on Thursday and realize no one, NO ONE from Safelight has reached out me. Not to apologize for the mistake, not to reschedule the installation. Crickets. I call and find out my new appointment is the upcoming Monday at 8:00 AM. First of all someone should have ASKED if that was okay with me because secondly I had to be at work and I had to drive my car to get there so obviously third I won't be at the same damn address. It took me almost 2 weeks to get an appointment, didn't send me a quote, then hit me with a 515 price tag as they were on the way to my house, which is about 200 more than any other place quoted. They came out and took my old windshield out and realized the one they brought was cracked even worse. The old windshield was now completely destroyed in the removal so I had to go with this new cracked 5-ways window. They told me they could come back in another week at the earliest which puts my car way out of inspection. I spent an entire hour trying to find some kind of customer service because I travel for work, I have two kids, and I park on the street so PPA sharks will find it and I don't want to get a ticket for this nonsense. I finally get the tech to give me the office number and they said they can't do anything except reduce the price to 325 which is still more expensive and will take longer than going to another glass company in Philly. On Wednesday Feb 7th, the tiny chip (THAT COULDVE BEEN REPAIRED IN 35-40 MINS ACCORDING TO SAFELITE TECH AND CUSTOMER SERVICE) turned into a crack across my entire windshield, from the cold weather. I am now stuck paying $1000 deductible for an entire windshield replacement, when the windshield could've been repaired FOR FREE (repair was fully covered), but because their scheduling services couldn't get a tech out until more than 3 days after making my claim, I am extremely dissatisfied in the lack of accountability by a company whose motto is "Our purpose is to make a difference and bring unexpected happiness to people's everyday lives." On top of all of this, I was given extreme attitude by one of the scheduling agents over the phone, with her leaving a sarcastic voicemail for me afterwards. I ALSO ASKED TWICE TO SPEAK TO MANAGEMENT and was told I am not allowed to contact management directly myself, but that they would pass along the message for someone to reach out. I called to replace a window on Saturday 9/21/24, and after watching many Safelite commercials I thought they would be at my location quickly. But the earliest they could come was Monday morning, so I canceled my doctor appt and waited for Safelite. They called a few hours later and told me they didn't have the glass in stock. I had an appt to take the car to the dealership for other service so I scheduled Safelite for Wednesday. Me dealer was running late so he suggested they come to the dealership. I tried to get a human being on the phone to see if this was possible. I spent 20 mins trying to get to a human being, but no luck. I started an on-line chat and they said they could change the location but couldn't guarantee it would be the same day. I asked Alysa on the chat if I could speak with a human being and she told me she was a human being, but I wanted a voice conversation with a human being, and she told me that was impossible! Finally I changed the appt for Thursday morning when I would have the car back. Now, it took from Saturday to Thursday to get my window replaced. Had terrible experience with Safelite. went to delaware location for service, they done a terrible job with the replacement windshield. I go back, the lady gives me a hard time and declines my service. They burnt my windshield. I called the manager Amadio Barlow and customer service, he was no help resolving the issue. Derrick was one of the techs who reached out and did the best he can do, so I will applaud him. I had to travel to springfield location where they done a good job replacing my windshield they had to order a piece that the first location broke off my windshield. took the place 6 weeks to contact me back that the piece came in, just to go there and it was the wrong piece. they ended up gluing the old piece on my windshield. terrible work and length of time pf service. Appointment window 1:30-5:30 pm. 3:30 on the day of the appointment, I received a text cancelling the appointment. "Hello this is safelite letting you know that unfortunately safelite tech will not be able to make it today. Sorry for the inconvenience. Reschedule is available online from the link we sent you. I should have read the reviews and perhaps it would have saved me from the horrific experience with this company. Had a small crack in my windshield about a 1/2 inch now it's about 20 inches long. After the crack spread then the tech says oh "by the way this could have happen, I'm sorry I didn't mention that, and gives me this disclosure. Went from a $157 repair to a $1200 replacement. The manager was very dismissive and could give 2 shits about the situation. I manage a hotel and would never treat my guest/customers in such a way. I would give a negative zero if possible. I'm not sure about the mixed reviews but my experience was nothing but positive. About a week or so ago got a small ding that turned into a crack that spread right away. Went on their website and requested a quote. The quote was basically the same price as if I went to an auto glass shop that I have used over the years. The only difference is that the shop doesn't have hours that work from me and Safelite will come out to me. I waited a few days so I could check out other places but they were higher. In the meantime I received an email from Safelite with a promo code for about $80 total off. It should be mentioned that they charge you $40 to recycle your glass. Well, for a windshield anyway. The offer was too good to pass up and I was able to schedule an appointment at my place in 2 days. They either have morning or afternoon appointments-between the hours of 8:30-12:30 or 1:30 and 1:30-5:30 with them calling you when they're on the way to you. Whatever. I work from home anyway! I scheduled for the afternoon slot. I received a call and voicemail the next day that my windshield came in but it arrived broken so it was pushed back a day for the same timeframe. No biggie it happens. Today, my appointment date I received a call around 10:30 and the tech Xavier said that he was actually in the area and he could come now if I was available. He arrived about 15 minutes later and I met him and he was personable, professional and I could tell immediately that my car would be in and capable hands. He told me I could actually just leave one front door window down and take my keys if I wanted and he would let me know when he was done. Said it takes about an hour and a half maybe two hours and it was completed within that time frame. You couldn't tell that my windshield was replaced because he did an excellent job. I had the standard service with the promo which included new wiper blades. Once he was done he let me know. I looked at everything and it was perfect. No issues of any kind and all looks good. I mention the standard service because when I went back inside, I remembered that I didn't ask about the wiper blades. When I went out to look the same old ones were still there. I called his cell and he answered and was very apologetic and said to give him about an hour and he will return and put them on and I didn't have to be there and he would let me know when it was done. Now, he could have just as easily said that he wasn't around the area, etc and offered for me to call the shop or some other option. About an hour later he calls me and says all done. The wipers are replaced, and they were. If you're fortunate enough to see Xavier as your tech on your appointment, then you're in luck! I can't say enough positive things about him and also for my experience with Safelite at the South Philly location. I say this with the best possible intentions; I hope that I never need them again! BUT if I do I will definitely look them up first for my auto glass needs and you should really consider doing so yourself. read more

I have had a very poor experience with Safelite and will avoid using them in the future: Two of my windows needed replacement: both on the right side of the car. I took a Monday off from work to get to a Safelite location (they did not want to come to my house as the forecast called for rain) only to find out once there that they had ordered only 1 replacement window, and it was for the left side. I took another day off work on Wednesday to go back to the Safelite location and that day, once I got there, they told me they had only received 1 window for the right hand side, the other one had not come in. I then scheduled a technician to come out several weeks later to do the last window replacement and in the process of the repair he broke my passenger door handle where it now won't open from the inside. The worst customer service and scheduling, although the tech who did the repair was very good. Even the customer service supervisor was arrogant, obnoxious and unhelpful, with stupid, trite and meaningless answers when I wanted an explanation of why the tech wasn't here when I was told he would be. Wasted almost a whole day waiting for service. I have a lot of experience in customer relations (including in the auto industry), as well as a college degree in Consumer Affairs and a law degree, and can readily tell when a company doesn't care about its customers and doesn't properly train its representatives. Safelite falls into that category. If my insurance company hadn't directed me to them, I would never use them. The tech who came to fix my windshield, Parker, was a great guy and very efficient. ****CONSUMER BEWARE****ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!!!!! 97% success rate...... yeah at destroying windshields. Had a chip smaller then a pea for 6-7mos on my lower windshield, wasn't changing decided to leave it alone. A stone ended up hitting up near my rearview mirror which did leave a slight crack, afraid of it spreading went through my insurance for the repair. safelite tech came out repaired the chip/crack on the work order. The tech suggested that the old nick be filled in as well to prevent further spreading.....well guess what folks that smaller then a pea size nick, which had been fine for mos. is now about 18" accross my windshield. Oh but rest assured theres a warranty on their work . Geico will get back their 65.00 for Safelite F**king up my winshield and I'm left with a jacked windshield. I highly recommend Safelite Glass Repair at 709 Washington Avenue. Chataki, Karlton & Gerald were totally awesome in servicing the car that was needed. They all went out of their way to be as helpful as possible. The only downside was, because of this location, I passed it 3 times before I was able to find it on Washington Avenue. It's tucked back behind a tire place and is extremely small. I just felt the need to mention that because it was a hindrance at the time. Scheduled an appointment today at 10:30 a.m. . Waited 1 hour for someone to look at my car. A customer walked in the door and the tech looked at her car within 1 minute. I made the appointment because I had things to do and was told it would take an hour or an hour and a half at most to fix a chip. I had a little extra sealant installed on my windshield about 3 years ago and he says that he can't remove it and I would have to have a body shop remove it and then he could install the windshield. He even had his Boss co sign in that BS. I had Caliber Auto Glass come out today and install my new windshield. He had no complaints about the extra sealant and was on time, courteous and gave good instructions. Don't use Safelite unless your desperate.1 star read more

had my windshield repaired and I thought everything was fine, but there was damage done to my fender and I could not open my door all the way the gentleman that fix the car did not even tell me anything and when I called them, they decided they were gonna come back out three days later after I had the service done to check the damage, but I couldn't let it go because I could not open my driver side door without damaging it or open the door all the way so I had it fixed. I took pictures to someone on the phone about it and they said they cannot reimburse me because I had it fixed and said that the gentleman took pictures before he did the work , that's impossible because my car did not look like that before he didn't even say anything to me about the fender being bent so he had to have taken the pictures. I said something to him now I will not be reimbursed. but that's OK. I will never recommend or use this company again. Very poor customer service because you making the customer look like a liar when they know what they car looks like. I'm a supervisor I was at work at 5:45 in the morning, I know what my car looked like before he started doing the job, I do not recommend anybody to use this company but if you do make sure you check your car and take pictures before hand. for all $500 to have the damage that I had to pay an extra $400 just to get it fixed. He tried again at 12:37pm. I texted him and had my husband call no response and voicemail was full. My text message said will be available at 1:30pm my husband is home please call him. No response!!! Voicemail not set up so could not leave message. Called at 1:37 no response. Call the Safelite number and spoke to a ride customer service agent. I asked for a phone call from a manager. How you can be a Store Manager of your business and do not know who is doing what or doing the order for parts! I am very understanding person and know that things happen I get it. But why lie to your customers saying that the part got there broken, when actually the parts was never delivered in the first place. Then what makes it worse have your receptionist getting confused with the story and told two different stories. Furthermore, I asked for the manager because the story was not adding up or making any sense. The manager got on the phone and I said I am not trying to be rude or ignorant. However, be honest with my because I am hearing to different stories was my part order yes or no. The manager first said no, then said we did, but the manufacture never got the order, then oh I don't know who did the order for you last week??? I was confused the order was done at your location and I spoke with someone at your location and you don't know what's going on in your store? When you are the store manager. I even got an email to come in today to drop off my car and the email is down below! I have to pay someone to take me to work to Philadelphia and back to then to be lied too be more professional. If you do not have the part ok not a problem the problem you lied and trying to make it seem like you was not the problem or like no one in your store failed to communicate with each other. Lastly, it is not my fault that I went to your place of business to get my windshield repaired and it was not installed properly then to get poor customer service later to get it back repaired. The Cherry Hill branch said it was a home office issue but those turds sent me back to the branch - get the picture. ABOLUTELY CRAPPY CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The home office refused to acknowledge that they caused the problem even though the C.H. tech admitted it to me. AND THEY NEVER DID FIX IT!! Had called to have my windshield fixed by the mobile service with several phone calls that they were still coming out but were backed up. They called me back and said I was Next. Then calls me back to send pics of the windshield and then tells me it doesn't need to be fixed. I explained that I just took off from work to have this fixed and would like him to come out still. No return calls and turned off his phone. Here is his text to me Hey this is Gerald with safelite, getting a little backed up might be after 4 If possible can you send a picture of the chip please no return call or follow up. Who ever Gerald is should be fired for making your company look like shit. No call no show and 100% unprofessional. What a disgrace. Your tech cost me a days work. When I got there I was told it would take 3-4 hours. I had already taken time off from work based on what was told to me over the phone, but could not afford to take 3-4 hours off. So, I rescheduled. I arrived today - again having taken off time from work. And was told upon arrival that the replacement windshield had arrived but was cracked, so they needed to reschedule. Another day of my limited vacation, wasted. I understand that mistakes happen, but I was offered no accommodation after these two safelite errors. VERY DISAPPOINTING for a company that markets itself on convenience. On the positive side, i the person i spoke to at the location (same person each time), was very kind and apologetic.
