Very Disappointed With Safelite's Customer Service We have used Safelite many times over the years and in multiple states, and our experiences had always been positive. Unfortunately, this most recent experience has been extremely disappointing. During a service appointment at our home, as the sun went down, the technician damaged our vehicle (lift gate latch and interior paneling cracked). The technician said the latch needed to be recalibrated by Dodge and the damaged panels weren't discovered until the next morning. We immediately began contacting Safelite, and initially a representative told us that Safelite would take responsibility for the damage and that we would not need to go through our own insurance. We relied on that assurance. Unfortunately, 18 months later, the issue still has not been resolved. We have contacted Safelite numerous times and repeatedly been told that the appropriate person has been notified, that someone would follow up, or that there is no record of our previous calls. We have spent far too much time trying to get a straightforward issue resolved. At this point, the lack of communication and follow-through is incredibly frustrating. It feels as though Safelite has simply hoped we would give up and consider the matter closed. We have not. We have been loyal Safelite customers for years, which makes this experience particularly disappointing. We expected the company to stand behind its work and take responsibility when damage occurred during service. I sincerely hope Safelite takes the time to review this situation and finally provides the resolution we have been seeking for the past 18 months. read more

This location is completely incompetent. First, I wait nearly 10 minutes for an employee to come out from the back and actually greet me. After that, I'm told they are "backed up" and it's going to be a "very long wait". What is the point of an appointment, if you can't even meet the general time frame? Then, it's suggested that I can leave the car instead of waiting. Some of us don't have that capability. How about you don't schedule that many appointments, if you are supposedly that "short staffed". It's just disrespectful to your customers. So because I can't sit there for 3+ hours, I wasted an entire trip to the location, and now have to reschedule my appointment (and inconvenience myself again). Find a different location if you can. Avoid this one if at all possible, because I guarantee that you will ultimately be disappointed. read more

The woman calling me to confirm my appointment was impossibly rude, constantly talked over me, interrupted me, unnecessarily belligerent and then hung up on me after I inquired about a discount the National Chain had promised. She refused to transfer me to a supervisor or owner. I ended up cancelling the appointment because I couldn't get a word in edgewise to ask for a second window to be fixed. I replaced my Jeep windshield in December 2020 at this location. In April I got a large crack on the right side of the windshield from a rock and because it was over a dollar bill in length, it was not covered by USAA. I was annoyed that it happened just a few months after the windshield was installed and I decided to wait. I'm glad I did because ANOTHER huge crack happened this time on the drivers side in July. That's 2 gigantic cracks in a brand new windshield less than a year after install. I've also only driven on Rt 2/4 for less than 4K miles since install. This isn't off-roading damage or excessive use damage. It's simple rocks on paved roads. I brought my Jeep in to get ANOTHER new windshield this week. It's only been 7 months since the last was installed. I asked them why my original windshield lasted 10+ years and this last one was less than a year with 2 large cracks. The Satellite Member told me they used an after market windshield and they tend to not have the same strength and integrity, and if I wanted the "better windshield" I could have paid for an OEM upgrade (manufacturer quality) window for an extra $200. I then asked them what they just installed and they said another aftermarket. So now I've paid them $900 for TWO aftermarket windshields they admit are not good quality. This is a complete scam. They admit they purposely install sub-quality windshields because its cheaper and most people just pay with insurance anyways. This is complete fraud and should be exposed! I'm not making any of this up either. This was all told to me by the Satellite employee who checked me out! read more

Other than the fact that I had to have my windshield replaced this was an exceptional experience. From reporting the windshield to my insurance company to having it completely fixed took only about 48 hours. The website was easy to use and it was easy to get an appointment. They estimated two and a half hours to fix the windshield which included replacement and a camera calibration. It actually only took about 50 minutes. I'm a happy customer. read more

My service technician, Anthony Carter, contacted me before his visit, arrived ontime for the appointment, and provided exceptional customer service. A large flying turkey buzzord flew into my window 2 days before the visit - my front windshield shattered and caused little pieces of glass to land in my vehicle. Anthony took his time to remove the shattered glass and insert the replacement windshield. He cleaned my windows thoroughly and managed to complete the job in approximately 35 to 40 minutes. I am very please with his service and professionalism. I really appreciate the mobile service Safelite provides -especially during COVID19. WOW! Was bummed that my new car got a rock chip in the windshield but my insurance waives the comprehensive deductible if it can be repaired with the injectable stuff. Driving through the area a truck kicked up a ton of rocks. A few bounced off, but alas the last rock to hit left a nice gnarly 20 inch crack right at eye level on the driver side. (I'm sure the few other cars in front and to the side are probably sporting cracks as well). With a crack that large, I was replacing the entire windshield. I called the Safelite service line and they were able to set me up with an appointment the very next day at this location. I was surprised they were able to source my windshield so quickly as it's the kind with the dotted 3rd visor in the middle and brackets for the various sensors. I was the last appointment of the day and intended on leaving my car and returning just before closing. When I got there they had the windshield in the garage area and the two workers were ready and waiting. I was informed they'd probably take 40-45 minutes to do it and so I ended up sticking around. I walked over next door to kill some time in the NAPA auto parts store came back and watched a little TV in their waiting area. True to their word, 45 minutes later I had the entire windshield replaced and my car was pulled around out front waiting for me. I paid for everything, they informed me of their warranty and gave me the contact info to the manager of the location should any issues ever arise and I was on my way lickity split. read more

First install, the windshield alignment was so bad - one side was touching the driver side A pillar, the passenger side gap was so big, the resin bead was exposed. On reinstallation, the paint was damaged, the tech tried to hide some of the damage by putting what seemed like white-out on, and the black resin was smeared all along the exposed vehicle paint in the gaps between the A-pillar and windshield, and is now hardened and will need professional work to fix. To add insult to injury, they left debris all along the dash and caused an electrical issue to the car's driver assistance functions that will require a visit to the dealership to fix. DO NOT choose this location to work on your car glass. read more

Do not use the Prince Frederick, Maryland location. I went to the store to setup a mobile appointment. The lady took all my information and said my appointment would be the next day between 8am and 12pm. No one showed up during the scheduled appointment time. I tried calling the store but the automated service says no one is available and hangs up. I then drove up to the store to see what the issues was and the lady behind the counter immediately gets rude with me and say the tech tried to come to my house 3 times. I asked why the tech didn't call and she states my phone is out of service. In the end the lady took all of my information wrong when I initially made the appointment. My phone number and my address were both wrong in the system. The lady was extremally rude and unprofessional. 4 hours wasted. read more

I am not impressed with the quality of workmanship. 30 minute job took over an hour, I was told after I noticed and question why it was cut, a cord to my remote start was in the way so they trimmed it without informing me befor doing so. But they tested and made sure that it still worked after reconnecting wires, and I made sure to test as well. After completing the install. And after they left, I noticed on the right side of the windshield towards the bottom, about a inch gap of rubber seal was missing. I wasn't not happy. I gave them a call back and they cut a peice of rubber and put it in the gap. The rep rold me it was cosmetic?! So an inch of rubber seal on my windshield is cosmetic?! Get the job done right the first time! Apparently all of us who expect top quality service, high standards, We are setting the bar to high for these companies?! I wouldn't go with them again. Took in my limited edition Shelby for a back glass replacement 4/17/2017. They did a quality job and the car left without a scratch! I was nervous when I had to take the car in because the first tech that showed up at the house felt like it was beyond his scope to do this job by himself. They made a Saturday appointment for me and blocked off the time. Store lead, David Shafer was respectful and understood I was very picky about everything. Yeah, it's their job to be good, I was "that guy" who had to watch them with my car. Not that it would help, but it made me more comfortable. The only reason for 4 vs 5 stars is the parking lot around the store was littered with sharp objects as a by-product of the industry. They seemed indifferent when I told them. I was concerned because the one off size tires for my car is very expensive. I'd go back to them for future glass repairs. read more

Came here for an insurance-covered windshield crack repair and had the best experience. They had me out of there within 25 minutes, complete with an interior vacuum and cleaned all the windows on my car. Fran was so nice, he made sure I knew the risks of doing a repair (I would probably still be able to see the crack, repairing it might make the crack bigger, etc.) but I literally can't even see where the crack was once they were done. Bonus: they have a legit coffee bar, WiFi, and cold water available while you wait. I'll keep coming here, insurance or not :) read more

It was quite annoying because I live 45 minutes away, but they reduced by bill by $75. So that is a huge pro.
