I tried this place out and seen the red flags , but I messed up , they charged a customer $150 to put headlights in his car no special tools needed, that was one, they have older customers, 2 they getting over on them, 3 one thing is wrong and they make up the next, a older guy went off, so my dumb ass let dem change my oil pressure sensor, being lazy and they come to me saying it was hard and $260 out my pockets,ok I said well its good now, bs ,next day my rear seal is leaking, a week ago I just had the dealer dodge check my charger for seals and etc. No problems ,how is my rear seal screws hanging out with oil leaking, so I call down to the shop they wouldn't put the manager on the phone , so I had to trade my vehicle in because it was expensive to drop trans and the dealer notice. I had a very frustrating experience with AYT Auto. While I will say the service was completed quickly and the initial price seemed reasonable, things went downhill from there. At the last minute, the price was changed, which was already disappointing. Even worse, my vehicle was returned to me with damage that was not there before I brought it in. When I called to address the issue, the owner, Henry, was extremely dismissive and unhelpful. Instead of trying to resolve the situation, he told me my only alternative was to call the police. He refused to exchange insurance information and would not allow me to review any camera footage from the time my car was in the shop. Overall, the lack of accountability and professionalism is unacceptable. Use at your own risk I would not recommend this shop. read more

I brought my 2016 Mitsubishi to have you put the 3 new spark plugs under the manifold and provide 6 ignition coils. I showed you the diagnostic code report. You accepted the report. The car was returned with a $1150 bill. I paid for the service. I returned because the car was still shaking and the Service Engine light remained on. Mr. Henry you looked at the car, ran a diagnostic saying that the car was ok. Two weeks later, my daughter returned to you because the car still shakes and the light remained on. You wanted to charge her an additional $260 for a diagnostic test. She said let me have my car. My neighbors recommended your service. Went to this location to get re-inspected. The owner and employees are very dishonest and dismissive. The service was terrible as the owner spoke back and forth with me over me being upset about the business not being upfront about what's required for a re-inspection. Would never go here again. I do not recommend this business to anyone. I was recently ripped off by this shop. I went there because my car was experiencing acceleration issues. I was told by Henry that my car did not have any oil and that my battery terminals were loose and that they had to do an oil change and secure the battery termials before my vehicle could be checked and get a diagnostic. I was charged $370 as way of ripping me off. I was told by Henry that the Mechanic checked the vehicle and rode the vehicle 70 miles per hour in route 301 high way and no acceleration issue was detected. I picked up my vehicle from AYT and was not able to drive it not even 50 feet away from AYT because my car did not accelerate and I ended up stranded in the middle of the street and nearly had a massive accident from the incoming traffic. My husband became very upset for their lock of professionalism and spoke to Henry whom disrespected my husband and I in a very disrispecful shouting match because he did not wanted to be accountable for his negligence. Overall that place is a complete scam where they deceive customers and their only intentions is to deceive and rip off anyone that enters their shop. Went to this location because I was hearing noise I thought was coming from one of the wheels, however they said a belt needed to be replaced, which they did and I still had the loud squeaking noise, so when I called Henry the manager he stated they had to order a belt from Infiniti, so he said he did I went back a couple days later, was in the shop no more than 10 min I gave my keys to this Asian lady that was at the counter, again no more than 10 min later, she call me to the counter and said it was completed and ready to go, almost home and the noise started again, so I went to Infiniti they stated the belt was never change it still had a universal belt on, I should of know not to go there another customer was Arguing with the manager stated it was his third time there and his truck was still not fix ! People if you choose not to have a headache please don't take your car there they are a complete rip off. read more

Brought my car in a month ago to get a radiator replaced. Had my car for a week because they ordered 3 radiators before they could figure the right one. Finally get it fixed and a month later I take it somewhere to get an oil change and they can't get my hood up. I bring it back to AYT because they were the last people to go under my hood which was working perfectly fine when I brought it in there. After checking it out they tell be I need a new latch and some cable bracket and of course they blame it on wear and tear. My hood had been working perfectly fine until they touched my car. A shop not considering that it could have been something they did, especially after several miscues in getting the initial repair right, is nothing new. Would not recommend and more than likely will not be back since this fix will fall on me. read more

They gave me a price over the phone , after I dropped my vehicle off they called me 2 hours telling me that I had the wrong part ( false ) and if I purchase theirs it would fit. So I declined the service so they wanted to charge me for taking converter off , when they never removed the old one off my vehicle. When I went to pick up my vehicle they put extra parts on my vehicle that had nothing to do with the service I took it in for and wanted to charge me for it and when I ask to speak to the manager ( oh he's out for 2 weeks ) They are very unprofessional and no one could answer my question about those extra charges or remove them read more

Interestingly I drive by this place everyday on my way to and from work. Today I needed to have a tire mounted and since I was working from home decided to stop by and see if I could have it done here. The young gentleman in the office was very accommodating and gave me the cost. He then told me to place the tires outside of the tire area and someone would come to help me. As Soo. As I step outside,I hear the same gentleman call over the loud speaker for Michael to come to the office. Shortly there after Michael walk over and I explain what I needed. It was clear to me that Michael didn't clearly understand what I had ask of him so I walk a bit closer to him to explain that I simply need a tire swap. While this is going on, a car pulls up with a guy driving. He gets out says something to Michael and asks me to step back. I have no idea who he is and why he's stepping back but, because I was literally one foot inside the working bay, I stepped back. The guy goes back to the car. As he's doing this Michael asks me another question about the tire, because he's now further away from me, I step back into the bay toward him but to him to explain that it is that I need. At this point the other gentleman is back in the car looking to pull into the bay. Instead of him waiting for a second because clearly I'm talking to Michael, he lays on the horn of the car and yells get the hell out of the way. The insane part is I'm not in his way. Once he gets out if the car I ask him what his problem is and was all of it necessary. As he blurtting something under his breath I ask him if he's the inner and he says yes. While my request wouldn't have made them rich, I immediately asked Michael to give me my tired back and refused to spend a dime in this facility. While customers aren't always correct, working in the service industry you need to respect your customers. If you have a pro Lem with people, stop working in customer service. read more

My tire went out as I was driving home from Brandywine. There was no good place to pull over and I am not really strong enough anymore to change a flat at the side of the road so I limped about 3/4 of a mile to AYT sure my tire was a goner. They helped me right away offering to throw the spare on for me so I could get to the tire place. Rather than making me drive the car closer to the bay, the mechanic brought the equipment over to where I had pulled in. He double checked the tire for me and found it was salvageable so instead of having to go elsewhere, I was able to get the repair done then and there. I was in and out in about 20 minutes. It was a positive experience and everyone was very courteous. read more

Brittany gave out incorrect information on servicing and availability. Based on HER saying that the car could be serviced, I dropped it off. She called back hours later saying they couldn't get to it. It literally wrecked everything and she was unsympathetic to the situation. After speaking with Henry, the parts for the car were on the way and he said it could be serviced by 9/10a the next morning. That would've worked, but it still put me at a disadvantage. Within five minutes, he called back and said they couldn't service it at all. This was baffling because I had called TWO days prior and asked if they could work on this type of vehicle, HENRY said yes. I called to see if it could be completed by end of day, BRITTANY said yes. So how did we go from being able to work on the car, to we don't work on foreign cars???? Very bad business, non-sympathetic, uncompromising...I'm VERY disappointed because I've been going to them for years for another vehicle, but my days of bringing my cars there has come to an end. Supply chain, COVID, resource shortages has NOTHING to do with CUSTOMER SERVICE. read more

I decided to give them a try, since my usual mechanic was not able to squeeze me in today. I arrived around 8:45 am to have them to take a look at what I wanted to have done, and to provide me a price. After close to an hour of waiting on what seems to be a NOT so busy day... I was told that there were some other findings and that I could go into the bay with the mechanic so that he could show me some suggested repairs. So we did just that. I decided that we wouldn't repair the suggested items at this time and that we would just take care of the items that I had originally come in for, one of which the mechanic informed me was more of a safety concern than the other 2. We verified that the parts that I brought with me were the correct ones because if not this place will charge you $100 per day until the correct part is in their hands. Nonetheless my authorization to do the work was given. That puts us at an approximate time of 10:20 am. Fast forward to 12:40 pm when they give me a call in attempt to gouge me for an ADDITIONAL $500 FOR ONE OF THE 3 ITEMS THAT I'D ALREADY AUTHORIZED THEM TO REPAIR. I respectfully decline and agree that they proceed with doing the other 2 repairs that we agreed upon one of which I was told was already completed. Knowing that they close at 4 pm... I made an attempt to call them around the 3 pm hour so that I can check the status but no one answered the phone. I immediately rush up there in fear that I had their closing hours mixed up. Upon my arrival I notice that my vehicle is still on the rack and so I ask the mechanic how things are going. Here's where it get really interesting. The mechanic informed me that he was not informed to do the remaining item on the ticket, and wanted to know if I could come back on Tuesday? Ummm Heck No! My vehicle has been here for 6+ hours already and you mean to tell me that this place wouldn't start by fixing the item that poses the biggest safety risk. By this time I am completely baffled. So I go and speak with the guy at the counter who informs me that the bolts were too hard to take off. This is an interesting statement because not even 2 minutes ago the mechanic stated that he hadn't even tried to perform the repair because no one informed him to do the work... so which one is it? Needless to say I was not compensated at all for wasting my 6+ hours of my day. This terrible experience is a reminder why I drive across town to go to my usual mechanic and have not patronized this place which is only a 5 minute drive from my home. I definitely do not recommend this place unless you are interested in attempted price gouging, work not being completed, and inconsistent communication between the staff and mechanics. I hope that this review helps someone who was considering having their vehicle serviced here. read more

Terrible experience. I would highly recommend that you take you automobiles else where for service. I had my water pump and thermostat replace there and 11 months later I was informed I needed another. I returned there to have them replace since It should've been under warranty but was informed it was not. After they quoted me $750 to replace both I regretfully agreed. When I arrived to the shop to pick up my truck they informed me my total was $1200 and not the amount i had agreed upon when quoted. Terrible experience! I drive a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland Summit. The TPMS is connected to a rubber valve stem for this model. The valve stem had a slow leak causing very low tire pressure. I stopped by this "place" to get the valve replaced. I explained the situation and at first was told it would be $35. I chuckled inside knowing the job would only take a knowledgeable mechanic 10 minutes. Also if you call Auto Zone or any place that sells parts you would know a valve stem is $4 at the most! The guy, didn't catch his name, tells me that he has to balance the tire and all this unnecessary stuff I don't need, and you don't have to do. We walk out to my truck, he then boldly tells me it's going to be $100! I need to leave my truck there for at least a few hours because they were so busy and the job was going to take at least an hour....It was one car in the garage. I was so disgusted that this guy would blatantly lie and try to take advantage!! I looked at him asked for some air in my low tire, in which he obliged, for free. And hurried away from that bleep! I would only send my worst enemy to this place because I know they would be sitting on the shoulder as I blew passed them cackling!! Simba you see that dark area, you must never go there!!!!! I stopped by Tire World, Laurel, MD and they fixed the problem in 16 minutes for $10!!!!!! read more

I took my car to AYT in Upper Marlboro, MD certain that my primary issue was the stop lamp switch. I was asked if I wanted them to still do a diagnostic for an additional $90. I agreed, thinking perhaps they might discover other issues to avoid another surprise repair in the near future. I was told that the stop lamp switch was the only issue. It was replaced to my satisfaction. After driving less than 75 miles, my vehicle became disabled again. I took it to another AYT close to the emergency on West Virginia Avenue in DC. I am thinking, "Why should I have to pay $90 again for another diagnostic so soon?" It would seem that whatever went wrong should have been checked the first time. I was told that my car needed a thermostat and radiator hose. I believe these are basic items that should have been inspected during the diagnostic that I had already paid for. With the second diagnostic and the new repairs I incurred an additional expense of more than $300, which I believe is quite unfair. Besides, I did not get the AAA discount I was promised. I suspect that the first diagnostic was never done, and I am due a refund or some service worth the $90 I paid. I never received any documentation of what was checked or any recommendations of any issues I should repair other than the issues that I suggested needed when I first brought my car for service. I hope AYT can make this right. Otherwise, they have lost me as a customer. read more

Before the ownership change, this was a solid repair shop. Now it's horrible. They did a simple oil change and managed to not put my oil cap back. Instead they rigged up something that caused me to have problems later. I like the close location so now I'm in the market for a new mechanic. Ugh!! read more

I've been taking my car there for several years now and had nothing but the best service. Henry, the manager, is absolutely the best! It is so nice when you always can speak to the same person, he knows my car and definitely knows what he is talking about. The mechanic has never failed me. One time a belt was squealing after replacement and they took care of it immediately at no charge. I always feel I get a fair price and they thoroughly check over my car which gives me great comfort. I live close by and one time I needed a jump start and they came right over and helped me out in a pinch. It's really nice when you have a mechanic who you can always turn to. read more

They fail on both professionalism and technical competancy: A) In a phone call discussing work & prices, I was given three quotes by two people - then they tried to charge me the highest quote when it came time to pay. If I hadn't written down names and prices I'd have had to shell out another $130. B) They recommended I have a part changed, but when I asked them to point to it (the PCV valve) nobody could do so and their manual said "doesn't have a PCV valve". C) Their price for replacing the fuel injectors was reasonable, but $300 to replace spark plugs, wires & distributor cap? $25 to check transmission fluid level? D) The prices on the wall have been there for at least five months (the time between my first & second visits), but after I was charged more then was shown I was told "they're old prices". I eventually paid the lower price, but that's called "false advertising", people. E) Finally, the oil change advertised a check of the lights & fluid levels. They said everything was fine, but I've got both a brake and headlight out. I'm never going back, and I suggest you never start. While they were polite and - after being shown written records of who said what - quite willing to charge what they said it'd cost, I no longer trust them to actually *do* the work. They certainly didn't in my case. read more

Please do not come here for anything. They lied, they stole and they will destroy your car. I m 80 year old. I brought my car to them, they put used parts. Of course, my car broke down less than a day. Afterwards, they wanted 1800 for new part. They kept my car for 3 months. I had to get the police involve to get my car back. They wouldnt bring it back to the shop but agreed to drop it off at my house. When I got home, I almost had a heart attack. They stole my front suspension components and carburetor. They didnt give me a refund and threatened to watch my back. Please take my words and find someone else. read more
