I understand why Safelite as an organization is worthy of criticism. Their national website where I scheduled the service needs some work. I got to the part where I had to input which type of automobile I needed a new windshield on, and Toyota Sienna wasn't an option. Seriously, how can one of the top-selling minivans and the #1 rated minivan by Edmunds somehow not exist as an option on Safelite's website? So I had to call and schedule it over the phone. And it took a lot longer than it should have. After each question the customer service rep asked me, I'd answer and then there would be a several minute wait. When the appointment was finally scheduled, I was told that there would be a several week wait because of the popularity of the Sienna. Then a week later, I received an email saying that the replacement windshield was in, and when I called the number provided in the email, the rep told me that it was a glitch in their system and that they still didn't have the part. So, for all those people upset at Safelite, I feel you. And yet I'm giving them 5 stars? The reason is that the next email I received a few weeks later told me to choose an appointment time because the glass had arrived. This time, I was able to do schedule it online, and when I went there, they were wonderful. A rock thrown up by a passing 18-wheeler had shattered the back quarter glass on the driver's side in several places, and there were glass pieces everywhere. The service techs at Safelite were courteous, started working on my car as soon as I arrived, and did a fantastic job of thoroughly cleaning everywhere, removing the shattered glass, and replacing it. And I was in and out of there in a shade over 30 minutes. I just went to the Toyota dealership where I bought the Sienna, and when I explained to them what had happened with Safelite, they were actually surprised that I was able to get the glass replaced so quickly. They said that sometimes it takes several months for them to get the replacement glass, and then they distribute them to companies such as Safelite. So, in the end, Safelite in Quincy did a great job. The website problems aren't their fault. read more

no one answers the phone. Company is a giant bot. Scheduled a windshield replacement at home. Selected 8:00 AM. Received email at 7:00 AM on date selected, informing me that tech would arrive between 8 and 12. No further contact, so I left for work at 1:00. Tech called at 1:30 asking if I wanted windshield done. I called company and could not ever reach a live person. Don't waste your time. Go to one of the few remaining local shops so if there's an issue, you can deal direct. Safelite is building a monopoly based on a related company handling insurance claims and steering everyone to their shops and remote service. read more

My windshield developed a large crack after a rock hit it. I filed a claim through GEICO and was able to make an appointment with Safelite through the insurance company. I opted for the at-home repair and it was really convenient not having to go to the location. I got an ETA once the technician was on the way. Justin was a great technician; he was able to get the job done within an hour. I was very curious about the process so I stayed to watch. He did a very thorough job removing the old windshield and adhesives and carefully installing the new windshield. Everything was cleaned up and no trash was left behind. He even gave me new mounting strips for my E-ZPass transponder. I am not sure why other people have had bad experiences. There was a miscommunication when the service rep called saying a technician wasn't available, but once I called back, she cleared it up and apologized for the confusion. read more

Sat here and waited for almost 3 hours when I finally noticed my car was still where I parked it. Only one in the waiting room but secretary "Had no idea" technician taking a smoke break every ten minutes. This place is pathetic. while I was waiting another past customer came back in bc the windshield they replaced would not defog. No concern at all. do not go here. read more

I brought my car in to replace a broken window and while they did replace the window they left glass in the track the window moves on so now when I roll my window up or down i hear glass moving around, crunching and scraping. They also said I would get a phone call when my car was ready to be picked up and I was confident that was the case since the receptionist confirmed by phone number but that didn't happen. After 3 hours I assumed the car was done and sure enough it was. My car shows me the last trip stats which includes the completion time, which would be when they parked and turned off the car after replacing the window and it was only an hour after I dropped the car off. Better communication and attention to detail is definitely needed here. read more

Tree branch smashed my giant rear window (Gen 7 Celica). Using the online form, I scheduled the earliest appointment I could, which was 7 days out. 6 days passed and we were notified that the appointment has to be pushed a week due to a glass shortage. 15 days after the incident, they finally came. Omar, the technician to came to our home, was great. Very professional, courteous, and efficient. If you're assigned Omar, you're in good hands. While the wait for the glass sucked, it was quite understandable as my car is 22 years old - I imagine it isn't something they have on hand. Overall, good experience. read more

My driver side car window was smashed and I have a $1000 deductible for my insurance, which pointed me to Safelite. Safelite was going to charge me the entire $1000 deductible. I called around and found Masterglass, who got me an earlier appointment by 2 days, and will only charge me $230. Safelite is a scam. And the woman on the phone tried to make me feel like $1000 what a good deal by saying she had to pay $1500 for her broken window. Right. read more

So I showed up at this location and tried to fix windshield. They said okay bla-bla-bla and I left my car. When I came to get my car back they broke on of my trims which is going from the front to the back. So only 2 months of complaining and calling them 2 times a week I finally got it fixed. read more

I dropped of my Truck for a windshield replacement last Tuesday in Quincy, Ma on Hancock street. When I picked it up it was pouring rain I did take a real quick look at the truck before I drove away but like I said it was raining hard. When I got back to work and the rain let up I noticed a scratch that 100% was not there before I dropped off my truck and my antenna near my front windshield was un screwed from the base with plyers removing the black paint and scoring it up . I have Contacted safelight twice and sent them pictures of the damage. Contacted my Insurance company twice and they said they were going to send the the manager at the Quincy location a email and he will be getting back to me with in 24 hours it's been over two weeks! not even an email. When I try to call the shop directly you get a computer at the main office and it says to go online to continue. Such Bul$hit. I am now going to call The attorney general and channel 7 news . I am 100p% not done yet stay far away from this Company read more
