I had a rock hit my front windshield to give it a nickle size bruise. I called Allstate and made an appt for 9 am, first available was 2 weeks later. It was rough to the touch and I didn't think that it was patchable. But I was told that if it wasn't, Safelite would let me know and they'll schedule another appt. Received reminder texts and emails which let me know to be there about 10 mins prior to appt for checkin. Arrived 8:47 and was 6th in line .. 30 mins later, I checked in. Safelite lost a star because of this. They need to give priority to appts. The gentleman at checkin was calm, courteous and respectful to everyone he attended to. Repair wait time was about 30 mins after they got the car. Even though they have limited capacity, Safelite also had snacks, coffee and cold beverages available for their customers. How thoughtful! I've had them come to my home for repairs but this is the first time in their shop. The work was amazing.. I couldn't believe the difference. Will definitely use them again. read more

I had a crack in my windshield recently and my insurance company made it easy to make an appointment at Safelite for my replacement. The entrance is behind the building, so when you get to the address you just have to follow the signs to customer check-in. They were busy! It seems like a lot of insurance companies funnel folks here. Jeff at check-in was friendly and informational, he made sure I knew all the details and how long my service would take. At check out he made sure I knew not to go through a car wash and gave me all the info again. The full replacement can take 2-3 hours, my car took just around two. My biggest complaint about this location is the waiting room. It's just chairs. Waiting for 2-3 hours it would be nice if they had small desks or something else setup beyond just chairs. I ended up commandeering the mini fridge and setting my computer up there. It is nice that they have water, sparkling water, coffee, and a few snacks setup in the waiting room. Overall besides the waiting room setup my experience at Safelite was a positive one! Jeff was friendly and my windshield was installed on time! read more

Safelite Autoglass seems to be the company all the insurance companies use. I started my insurance claim on the insurance website then all my information was transferred to Safelite. They offer two options when scheduling an appointment. You can go in person or they will come to you. They are very busy so expect to wait a week or two for an appointment. I could have gotten in sooner to the Apex or Durham location. Maybe I would have had a better experience at one of those locations. When I arrived and was checked in service was friendly but did mention that after the repair the windshield might not look any better than it did before the repair. I was also bothered while listening to others checking out that it was suggested they leave 9s or 10s on the survey they may get. They need to leave an honest review on the survey. My appointment started 12 minutes late even though I was to arrive 10 minutes early. Lexi was my repair tech and did speak with me before the repair. I showed her the two window cracks and she said they could be fixed in 20 minutes. After she came back and got me, it did look ok with the angle of the sun at the time. But when I got in to drive away it didn't appear that it had been fixed. I was disappointed as it seems like just one of the cracks was worked on. Quality seems to depend on the tech you get. My fault for not reading the reviews first but I trusted the insurance company recommendation. If this repair doesn't hold or pass the NC inspection next month, I will find another glass shop for the windshield replacement. read more

I scheduled an appointment for my driver's side front and rear car window to be replaced a week in advance. They had the nerve to call me the day before my appointment to say they didn't have either window. One would have to be shipped from Georgia and wouldn't be here til Monday. The other has to come from the dealership and would cost almost $200 more. They had a week to get this right. Thanks for ruining my plans next week. I won't recommend Safelite to anyone, at least the one at Meridien Dr in Raleigh. They changed my windshield, but the new one had a scratch on a corner. I reported the damage and someone came to my home and said he need it to place a new order. Well, one month passed and no one had contacted me, so I had to call. The weird thing is that whoever answered the phone didn't see anything about it on the computer, so she went to ask the head of the mechanics/technicians, he didn't know anything about it either. I asked to speak to a manager, but she was already gone for the day (hint, my call was around 4 pm) so , no manager around, and the head of technicians didn't know anything about my order either..total chaos at that branch. Two days later they called me to schedule a new appt. While waiting for the technician several hours, they called and rescheduled the appt to the next day between 1-6 pm. Well, it was close to 5 pm and no one had called me to give me an estimated time of arrival, so I called. The technician sounded as he was not even prepared to come to my home, and said that he could be at my home at around 5:45 to take a LOOK. I immediately told him that his trip was to change the windshield , not to take ANOTHER LOOK. By the way, this guy didn't know anything at all about the job that the first technician had done. So, a couple of days later, we got lucky and got to talk to Mendy, the store supervisor, and she arranged for a tech to come today Monday, November 18. The technician is outside my home now, and asked me to go outside to explain to me that the new windshield he just brought is also scratched! What a "COINCIDENCE!" The first and second windshields were scratched! I'm starting to think that Safelite buys second hand windshields somewhere and deliberately replaces seriously cracked windshields for those with scratches. The technician couldn't do the job, neither he could communicate with anyone above him because Mondays is the bosses' day off. . Granted that the technician has some fault in it too, for not checking the materials before loading his truck. Safelite needs to provide a laptop to their technicians to write a report and have access to info about previous jobs. It's been 7 weeks since this job was started and has not been done properly. At this point I just need the money returned to my insurance, so I can look for a professional to do what Safelite has not been able to do in 7 weeks., I don't want to know anything about Safelite ever again. But of course all the shop did was tell me the same thing they told me the day they couldn't get the recalibration done and still no one has reached back out to tell me anything. We went to satellite ONLY because our insurance instructed us to go there but it was such bad service. I dropped my car off at 0800 on Saturday, left and did some errands and when I didn't get a call or text around 4:45 I headed back to satellite, there was two guys guy behind the counter and they both told me they were recalibrating my car and that it would be "super quick." I told them I'll wait in my car and if they could just call me when it's done and I'll come back in. An hour and a half goes by, so it's now 6:30, I walk back inside and I see my car through the building sitting in the back lot, not even being worked on or "recalibrated. " I got really frustrated and the guy said they're gonna start it now and it's AGAIN going to be "super quick." The guy was very apologetic and said they were "slammed" and if I wanted to I could pick it up on Monday, but how am I going to afford a rental when I already paid out $500 in the first place for them to finish it the same day. Took him about 1 hour and the windshield is centered perfectly. They even used the authentic, Mopar windshield with the Jeep decals, etching etc...not some generic windshield. Synopsis: New windshield in, quick service, amazing tech, and convenience when you need it most. After taking a rock to the windshield on 540, I went to my insurance company about replacing the windshield and was forwarded to Safelite AutoGlass in Raleigh to do the replacement. Went through the claims process through my insurance and ended up snagging an appointment at my location only two days after the rock incident in a six-hour timeframe. Was kept informed all along about the process, my claim (ultimately turning into me paying, but we figured that), pricing, and details on how it would happen when the tech came. Had to pay the deductible, but everything was straightforward and not shrouded in secrecy. Drive away total was just over $500 for the new windshield and new some wiper blades just in case. Service tech - My technician, Joshua, was incredible. Called me earlier in the day reminding me about the appointment, and picked up when I called him back letting him know he would need to come in a certain timeframe in order for me to be able to have access to my vehicle and move it to a location that would be best for service. On top of that he had my windshield replaced in under 40 minutes and had my Jeep looking new in now time. Cannot hype this man up enough--he stole the show and is the reason I am writing such an emphatic review. Ultimately this experience was everything I needed the replacement of my windshield to be and the results you hear about through commercials or other people. So this is very frustrating to have to rate a company that did not give me the service that I made two appointments . I had a lovely chat with a person on Monday about replacing or repairing my windshield only my appointment never happened. I was fine with that I got another appointment for Friday today, no one came to even look at it. I received a phone call at the time of my appointment stating they didn't have my windshield at the facility, and it had never left the warehouse. I would have respect for the company to tell me ahead of time about my windshield; then, I could have gotten it fixed elsewhere. Rock hit our window on the highway causing about a half inch crack in the windshield. Contacted Safelite to see if they could repair the damage instead of replacing the whole thing, was quoted a price and scheduled for next morning. The person who arrived saw the crack and told us it was about a 50/50 chance that the crack will repair. Ultimately it turned into a 7 inch crack and here is where ALL the failures of Safelite came in. The repair tech told us not to worry about paying him since he was unable to repair it and he would contact the shop to call us and schedule. Well, no call came (Fail). My wife called and scheduled for the next morning herself. After arriving, the Manager at the front desk said the repair tech should have still billed for the visit even though they couldn't fix it and would now have to bill us the deductible for replacing the windshield + the repair charge, but explained we will be refunded the repair (Fail 2, your repair tech should know the policies). Car was "ready" 3 or so hours later and available for pickup. Drove my wife back to the location which is an hour round trip mind you. After leaving, she noticed that the windshield wiper fluid wasn't working. Called the location and was told they would call back. Well, no call came again or the next day or the next day (Fail 3). We then refilled the fluid just to see and sure enough it all came leaking out. Opened the hood again and found that not only was the line not reconnected (Fail 4), but a piece of the car was actually MISSING (Fail 5) and the seal around the windshield was coming off. By this time, we called the insurance company and provided them with pictures. Next morning to no surprise of ours, the Manager contacts is and asked my wife to bring it back in so he can personally look at it and apologized for not calling us earlier because they were busy (horrid excuse). Another hour round trip later and he was able to confirm the line wasn't reconnected and reconnected it. Said he will now have to order the missing part and will personally come to our home to install it. Also states that the seal coming off is "just cosmetic". No talk of compensation for our frustration, time and/or money. Failure all around Safelite. read more

I set an appointment over a week out to fix a windshield chip. They didn't show up, but sent me a customer survey by 3. I called the office and they put me in hold to check in the guy. They told me he was finishing up with the last job before mine and he was about 30 minutes away. He never showed and they never let me know he had to cancel. The cutoff time was 6pm, an hour after their office hours, so they don't answer calls then. So, not repaired, lost my day off appointment on Veteran's Day, and no contact. Just rude and unprofessional. What now? Do I have to wait 2 more weeks? Should I even trust them to set up another appointment? They seem too untrustworthy. Probably not, ever. Reality is as they just comment on yell if another review sites to mitigate damage but don't ever follow up. they wanted to negotiate the pricing for the damage even though I gave them direct costs No markup and even cleaned up the car myself. fast forward they haven't paid anything and radio silence. these guys are the absolute worst. I can't even believe they're able to manage scheduling in the Raleigh office they are a disaster But now that I think about it they screwed up my schedule a couple of times too. I had a small crack (less than 1/2") in my windshield. I went to Safelite to have it repaired, which was the 3rd car we've used Safelite for. Despite having less than great experiences, I decided to try them one more time. In the other experiences, they claimed they couldn't repair the crack so had to replace the windshield. In this recent experience, they warned me they could crack the windshield during the repair process and had me sign a waiver. After an hour, they called me up and told me they cracked my windshield. Now the crack is 3 inches and the windshield needs to be replaced. They were indifferent when telling me the news. Rather than spending an hour and $0 for a repair, I'm now looking at a $500 deductible and half a day of my time. They are in the business of replacing windshields and will do everything to make that happen. Never use these guys! read more

The perfect service experience... I booked through the Safelite link my insurance agent provided and scheduling through the website was simple. Upon arrival, the waiting area was clean and the staff were all very professional and friendly. I received a text when the car was ready as well as an email with a detailed receipt and a certification letter that all the radar equipment was performing to factory specifications for our 2020 vehicle. The simplicity of billing was easy and all I had to do was pay the $250 deductible, Safelite billed my insurance directly for the rest. I waited all day and even called the company twice to confirm the appointment. When I didn't hear anything back by 6, I called and found out that the technician lied and said that they came to my house and nobody was around. They also lied saying that I never answered my phone! I am quite upset with the experience received at the Safelite facility at 3070 Business Park Dr, Unit 114, Raleigh, NC 27610. My first appointment was supposed to be a set appointment; however, when I arrived for my appointment, I was informed that my appointment was not at a specific time and was a "walk in" appointment which meant it would be worked in throughout the day. As that was not my expectation, I was rescheduled for 2 weeks later. At my 2nd appointment, I waited in the lobby for an hour before they came back to inform me that they couldn't complete the repair because the replacement glass was broken. I was rescheduled; this time for a week later. Now today was my 3rd appointment. I waited in the lobby for an hour before a tech came out to tell me that they couldn't complete the repair because the replacement glass was broken......AGAIN! This is absolutely ridiculous! I can't imagine a worse experience from any company on the first visit (7am first appointment) the car isn't even started or any car for that matter until 8am. It takes three and a half hours. But wait it gets better. Allegedly they test drive the vehicles after service to make sure things are done properly, never done and proof in that is that inside the vehicle it sounds like a wind tunnel. Make a warranty appointment for 9am, the car again doesn't move for nearly an hour. One would think that after completing botching the job a manager/company would make the remedy a priority. WRONG! Not only was the vehicle ignored for 45 past the appointment time(that time would have been greater had I not complained) then the vehicle was merely parked in the bay. 9am appointment vehicle done at around 1:30pm. At around 11:20 they offered to uber me somewhere which was the only conciliation in this horrible experience. Bottom line is You have a choice even though your insurance may work directly with them, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Then right before they closed Justin calls me and left a voice mail to call and confirm the appointment. By time i got the message it was little after 6 so I called and the representative said there was NO Appointment scheduled for me. Not only this when you call you can not get a live representative with Safelite unless you chose option for broken glass. So they only care to schedule new appointments in which they turn around and delete anyways. I then asked to speak to a manager regarding the deleted appointment and was put on eternal hold. Finally I get John from the Raleigh office at first he says the appointment is still on hold they just put on hold but i could still come get it replaced. Then i told him Michelle just told me the glass isn't there. Which he didn't check it first before telling me I could still make my appointment. Then he comes back and says they don't have the glass and it would be Thursday before they could get it. At this point i have no confidence in what anyone is telling me at this point. read more

The Tech himself was very nice and quoted me a price of approximately 600 and some change and said he would get to work. I got a text on my phone that the work was done but the price was 1k+ Apparently they needed a different windshield than I was quoted but never told me of the change. Just installed it without my knowledge or giving me a chance to change my mind. They did offer me alot of discounts and the Tech worked hard to get it reduced as he was unaware of the difference in cost as well. Got id down to 800ish. Still 200 more than I was quoted. Safelite was friendly and showed up the day they said they would. I had a friendly gentlemen show up from Safelite to replace my glass. Once they removed the glass; there was some surface rust that could be easily removed/sanded and primed. I use to work in a body shop a long time ago (so I know). To my surprise, Safelite said they could not put in the new windshield. Safelite rep. said they could not sand the surface rust and prime (which I do not understand). That should be part of replacing a windshield if necessary. Worse yet, they could not install the old window shield either. So, the tech literally taped my old windshield back on, advised me to call a tow truck and have my vehicle towed to a body shop, have the surface rust sanded and primed and then Safelite would replace my windshield. I was left with a hood half open with my windshield wipers underneath, the original windshield in worse condition, and a vehicle that was undrivable. I called a competitor of Safelite and they immediately knew what to do, that the problem was not that uncommon, sanded the rust down/out, primed, and put in a beautiful windshield. On top of that, they were significantly cheaper than Safelite. I hope no one else goes through this. I couldn't imagine someone being at work and facing this at the end of the day or an elderly person trying to figure this out. If I could give them 0 stars I would. I recommend going with a local (non name brand) company if you need a windshield repair. Good luck. read more

I wasted an entire morning here. Was told my car would be ready in 1.5-2 hours and ended up getting out 3.5 hours later, exasperated. They offer to Uber you somewhere but you are responsible for ubering back, so it's a veiled courtesy. Location is pretty remote with nothing to do for miles. When my car was finally ready, I found a workman's hammer and garbage in my car. I had to chase after the guy because he forgot to give me my keys. And then on the highway headed home, got to enjoy crazy loud air noise like I was driving home in a space ship. So I get to spend more time fixing their mistakes. If your insurance gives you the option to choose a different provider, I'd strongly consider it. It is neither convenient or effective to take your car here. Update: I called immediately after noticing the air noise coming from my windshield upon leaving the shop and was scheduled for a mobile repair appointment. They never showed up. read more

Got the runaround. I was given an appointment to come to their site, then once there after almost an hour told I would have to make another appointment with their mobile division on another day. During the initial appointment I was told it would take about an hour and a half. Once at the site I was told it would take six hours due to the age of my vehicle. The windshield was installed in 34 minutes. The age of the vehicle had no impact on time to replace. This caused the cost to increase, and the initial Hour drive a waste of time and money. I was nervous getting my Toyota FJ Cruiser windshield replaced due to all the horror stories that riddle the Facebook groups and message boards. Mostly due to the odd trim pieces and clips that tend to fly off at speed if not attached correctly. I chose to bring it in to the shop instead of having them come to me to minimize the chance that the tech won't have everything necessary to do the job properly. I have to say that this location of Safelite was efficient and professional in every way, along with an excellent installation of my new windshield. All my trim pieces are solid and secure. The plastic corner panels at the base of the windshield by the fenders feel much more secure than they used to be and the white trim along the top of the glass is new and is confidence inspiring in its feel and is 100% dead when tapped.
