This is a busy shop. All of their employees seem to be well trained and know what they are doing. My cars windshield was replaced within the three hours they quoted me and I am happy about that. I chose not to have my windshield wipers replaced during the process because they were only four months old, the saving $60. Since this was an insurance claim against my comprehensive, I do not have an idea if the glass they installed was the same quality as the original manufacture for a new car. OP read more

They take no responsibility when they make the crack worse and just blame the unpredictability of glass. The technician never spoke to me prior to attempting the repair but then after he broke it he said it had been a higher risk to spread due to the original location of the crack. Had he told me that prior to starting the work, I could have made an informed decision. Instead, he broke my windshield to the point it needs to be replaced. Safelite actually benefits when they "accidentally" make the crack worse, because now instead of a $140 fix they want me to pay for a $1500+ windshield. I should have looked more closely at BBB complaints and other reviews before coming here. What a costly mistake. read more

I initially left a 5‑star review because the work appeared to be done correctly. A couple of days later, it rained -- and that's when the real story began. Water started leaking down the interior passenger‑side vertical panel, and my moisture‑sensing feature no longer worked. When I climbed up (the truck sits high) to inspect the windshield, I discovered that the weatherstripping along the entire lower edge had been destroyed. I contacted Safelite customer care and was directed to take the truck back to the shop. Prior to picking the truck back up, I called to complain about the poor work quality and was referred to Shawn Scobee, the manager at the Rocklin location. Instead of addressing the workmanship issues, he dismissed my concerns and claimed that "all Ford trucks have this problem" and that Safelite would not cover any portion of the replacement cost. Yes, these trucks have delicate lower cowlings -- which is exactly why a competent technician should handle them with care. Mine clearly didn't. The windshield wasn't sealed correctly, the moisture sensor wasn't connected, and the cowling was treated like it was being removed and reinstalled by a gorilla (with all due respect to a wonderful animal). I'm not claiming that every Safelite location is terrible, but the Rocklin branch won't see me again. Nobody showed up nor did they call or text to let me know. Even though I had my text and email confirmation. Not going to lie, I was pretty hesitant to come here after reading all of these reviews. But I'm all about giving people an opportunity to shine. I feel like that's exactly what I got when I visited today. I arrived to my appointment 10 mins early. I was greeted kindly. My car was pulled in and serviced on time. I was given an estimate of 2.5 hours for the replacement of my windshield and that was accurate. My car is only two years old and it's very stressful to have to have the windshield replaced already. I was very happy that Tyler, my technician, left my car as good as new. Outside of the obvious brand new windshield, I can't tell the car was touched at all. THAT IS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT!!! I won't be using Safelite again, ever. I've had two windshields replaced under my insurance. After getting a small chip in my new windshield I tried to contact the company and speak to a live person, not possible. I called their "customer service" phone numbers, only to be told my call couldn't be answered and hung up on. Then I tried their online "bot", worthless. I'll just go with a locally owned company to repair the damage because this company clearly doesn't care if their customers can get the answers they need and/or speak to a live person. Totaled our 2023 Acura due to crappy windshield installation. 12k in water damage to the electronics and Safelite said to just dry it out. After Safelite admitted fault, they offeres us 3k. Allstate agreed with us and deemed it a total loss and paid us out 51k. We have receipts. Prior to the Acura damage, the same Rocklin store with Mr Scobee the manager tried to hide the damage to our 2023 Mazda. BEWARE: they'll make your problem worse and then say it's not their problem. I had safelite out to repair a couple of small chips in my windshield. The tech arrived and began working on my car. Shortly after his arrival, he came to the door saying he had bad news. He said the chip became worse. The chip started out as maybe a little smaller than the size of a pea. I now have an about 5" crack on my windshield. I was told it's not their problem and I have to pay out of pocket to fix it. So they could basically have ZERO quality control and be cracking windows left & right and just say ooops sorry and have no consequences?? At no point prior to this service was I told by any safelite employee that worsening the chip was a possibility. They didn't say anything prior to and I didn't sign anything acknowledging liability if it were to crack. I've never had chips repaired before and had no idea this was a possibility. If I had known that there was a good chance of making it worse, I probably would've left the chips alone as they were hardly noticeable and now I have a massive crack in my window. I tried calling the local number and was given the run around by the guy who answered the phone. He blamed the crack on everything under the sun, despite the tech telling me it was their machine that cracked it. He tried to tell me I HAD to go through insurance to replace the window. He tried blaming the cold weather at night and it being 40 degrees for the crack (it was repaired at 12pm in the afternoon, it's a high of 72 degrees and not remotely cold today). They literally did everything but take responsibility and apologize. After I explained that I had no idea making it worse was a possibility, he agreed to take $80 off the cost of paying out of pocket for a new window which is still $400. What an absolute joke. This should be getting repaired at cost since the tech damaged the window and made it worse without explaining anything prior to the service. Beware if you use this service and they crack your window, you'll be SOL and you'll have to replace your window at your own expense. Edited to add: I spent 2 hours getting the run around on the phone with Safelite. They simply kept transferring me to Geico where I have to pay $500. They took ZERO responsibility for the failed communication/damage to my windshield and basically said tough $hit and kept transferring me. If there is a possibility of the repair "failing" YOU should be telling people prior to service and having them sign something acknowledging they were told. EVERyone I spoke to acted as if it was common knowledge, I had no idea, that poor communication falls on you. read more

I definitely won't be using them again. They broke my chrome, trim around the window and tried to glue it. We didn't notice it till later when it got hot and the glue came apart. The plastic cover behind my rearview mirror fell off within the first week of the install, they came back did a crappy fix and then it fell off again recently, they told me it's out of warranty. I had a very disappointing experience with Safelight Auto Glass in Rocklin. I scheduled an appointment for a windshield replacement, only to be told that the mobile technician could not replace it in my 2021 Jeep Gladiator because the factory doors had been removed. I received a text message from the service tech(s) as they drove away. I texted the service rep's mobile phone and called his phone. Then, I called the office in Roseville and canceled my windshield replacement with Safelight after verifying that Jeeps do not need doors installed to have a windshield replaced. Safelight did not attempt to send another installer out that day or the next. Don't let your insurance company make you believe this is your best option. You can still choose any window or auto-body shop you prefer. read more

We've been to this location of Safelite many times. My wife drives on I-80 a lot and her windshield gets dinged, our insurance pays all but the deductible so it's convenient. That is unless they don't do their jobs which is what happened. In March, I had planned to go away with my golf buddies for a trip to Bandon Oregon, about an 8-hour drive. My windshield was cracked so I took it in the week before I was supposed to leave. I get the car back and they tell me that none of the safety features, the reason I bought the car, function because they screwed something up and didn't notice until after the windshield was on. Shouldn't affect the cruise control though. It, of course, did. They couldn't do the work to fix it before I left because it takes 10 days for the windshield glue to set or it'll be a mess getting it done. Took it back after I returned and amazingly they fixed it. I get mistakes happen but this is what they do day in, day out and you'd think stupid stuff like this wouldn't happen. Fast forward to July when we took my wife's BMW i3 in to get the windshield replaced. During the replacement, they damaged one of the trim pieces and "melted" it back together to put it in place. Sweet! They promised us they'd repair it, ordered the part and we waited for the call. My wife drives away and there is a very noticeable buzzing coming from the trim on the upper driver's side of the windshield. We called to follow up on the trim they damaged and told them there was an installation issue with the windshield. We bring it in for warranty assessment and "Lee" takes it for a test drive. Yup! There's an issue. Real rocket scientist here. He assures us, "No worries, I'm on it. I'll make sure this gets taken care of. Okay, we got someone who looks and acts responsibly. Looks can be deceiving, as we found out. Last week, I got a call. "Hey, we've got all of your parts. Bring it in." I made the appointment for a week later. My wife calls back and asks them if they are sure they have the parts. "Oh yeah, we're all set." We dropped the car off this morning, fingers crossed. We took two cars and I wheeled around to park in front of the store to pick my wife up and the "calibration specialist", who was probably the guy who screwed up my car in the first story pulls up behind me in a Tesla, yells at me from the car to move then blares the horn at me. I've been there for literally 2 minutes and I'm leaving in 1 minute when my wife comes out from dropping the car off. He gets out of the Tesla and rudely tells me "You've got to move your car, this isn't a parking spot." No "Hey, I've got to get into this bay. Could you please pull forward a little?" No, just a rude f'ing attitude. Nice! "Chase" was his name in case anyone from Safelite HQ cares about customer reviews. We get a call about 30 minutes later. "We found out what's wrong with it. We've got to order the parts." My wife was livid. Absolutely livid. We know what's wrong with it. You called us and told us you have the parts. We called you back and confirmed you had the parts. This wasn't a diagnostic or warranty appointment. This was a fix for our F'ING car appointment! I absolutely teed off on anyone within earshot. I've written the regional manager about this issue but honestly, I'm not hopeful. Sean the new manager was nice enough. He's got his hands full with that group of idiots, no question. Beyond getting this issue fixed, we will never go to Safelite again, ever. We've had enough. We'll take out business to local businesses who care about the work they do and don't jack around their customers. Do business with this store at your own risk. As Safelite has wedged themselves into preferred carrier status with most insurance companies, they're approaching monopoly status pushing themselves further away from acceptable customer service. I would give them ZERO stars if this were an option. First of all, they've created a complex phone network to navigate serving to funnel you away from the local shop (can't even look-up a local direct phone line to Rocklin location) which consistently directs you to schedule, review your information, etc. on the website....sometimes you just NEED to speak with someone (like will the part arrive by tomorrow's appt?). I made THAT call just prior to my 2nd appt which was a week + 1/2 after the 1st one was cancelled (after waiting about a month for the 1st appt due to a 'supply chain issue'). During this call via customer service with a transfer to the parts dept., I was told that unfortunately the part would not arrive by tomorrow morning's appt., however would arrive in the shop in the next 24 hours, but we'd have to reschedule..... Fast forward to this week....phone call early this a.m. just before I was to leave....same story....part not in, but in the next day or so...have to reschedule. I mentioned paragraph above, did someone lie to me?? Was the part really on its way? The guy said no one lied to me. How can that be I said when parts said it would arrive within a day?? Said he'd follow up....I have LESS THAN ZERO confidence something will change. Another appt next week...maybe if I'm lucky. Oh forgot to mention that NO one called me after my 1st appt was cancelled with a status. I actually had to schedule 2nd appt online...... Safelite is poster child for scaling too quickly....if you have a choice and/or if this is an insurance claim, I highly recommend exploring more options.
