After my original post, Safelite contacted me and advised me that the wrong windshield was ordered. Fortunately, they have the original OEM in stock, but they could not get it in time to install the same day. So I'll have to go in for a fourth time. In fairness, they were able to calibrate the aftermarket, and that allowed me to take the car on a road trip with all safety features in place. Regarding their reply about trying to do better, it is my belief that their policies are the root cause of the issue. As a provider for the insurance company, it is their job to make me whole again. Since using aftermarket equipment could cost me money when the lease expires, they should give the customer the option up front. Using OEM glass probably would have calibrated more effectively, not caused me the multiple trips, and I would not have run the risk of financial loss for failure to properly repair the leased vehicle with OEM equipment. Now, after all that, the staff at the shop are friendly and professional, and were very easy to work with. Just that their hands were tied by corporate policies. read more

DO NOT RECCOMEND. Established name brand, but very poor service. The workers are not very professional and do not appear to take their work seriously. Several problems: 1. Bait & switch price quote. If you have a newer vehicle with safety features, the online quote only shows price for the price for the glass ($800). After you book the appointment and get your receipt, they show you the additional cost of the "recalibration fee" ($400). After I complained, the representative agreed it's a problem, and others have also complained. But at that point I was stuck. 2. After replacing my windshield the first time, the technician CRACKED the new glass when reinstalling the rear view mirror. I had to come back 2 weeks later to replace it again. I had to drive without a rear view mirror for those 2 weeks. 3. After the second replacement, I noticed a plastic part around the rear view mirror was missing. Upon closer look, it had been cut with a saw to appear "clean". I had to go back to the representative and ask. They acknowledged that the part broke during the first replacement. Only after I brought this to their attention did they order a replacement from the car manufacturer, and I will now have to go back a THIRD time for them to replace this part. 4. They also chipped the glass on the rear view mirror itself, but I didn't notice this until later, so I likely won't be able to get this fixed. 5. I had to beg for a discount for the inconvenience. I eventually got $100 off my $1,400 dollar bill, which does not feel worth it. 6. While sitting in the waiting area (for a combined 3+ hours), I heard the workers talking about other incidents where they've accidently cracked glass. Another woman came in to complain that her windshield has been leaking ever since the replacement. Overall very unpleasant experience, and I genuinely did not feel like anyone cared. Their attitude was very "sh*t happens" if you know what I mean. If you want someone to pay attention, do quality work, and not screw you on the price - go elsewhere. read more

Was extremely disappointed with satellites service. My back windshield was shattered last October. We contacted them to come and replace it. While doing so they broke the spoiler as well as the windshield wiper. While they let us know about the broken spoiler, they failed to mention that the windshield wiper was broken until we turned it on and it fell off... We were told to take vehicle to auto body shop to get an estimate to repair the spoiler, which we did. 11 months later we just got the money to reimburse the spoiler. Two months after the windshield was repaired, while awaiting funds for repairs to be reimbursed, the entire electrical system went on the vehicle. While this could have been very much from vehicle use, it could have been related to the windshield wiper electric system being exposed to the elements. Overall, very disappointed with the service and quality of customer care. read more

I'm sitting in the Whitehall diner hoping my safelite situation would be remedied. I was there on Monday to have my rearview mirror reattached for the second time only to be told I need a whole new windshield installed so I schedule with the receptionist to have it done today ...,Thursday. I noticed on my email from safelite reminding me about the appointment that it was generated by the Harrisburg location. I get to the Whitehall location and there's no appointment. The same receptionist from Monday says I don't know how this happened . Well you made the appointment! She takes my keys and says 2 hrs. Shortly after sitting down for breakfast at the diner I get a voicemail saying the glass isn't here please call. Btw the Whitehall diner is very good. I would give safelite negative stars if I could . Avoid this place like the plague. I will have to schedule another appointment because they already have my funds. read more

Wow. Not the greatest experience. Two cracks on my windshield fixed. The tech that came out was miserable to say the least. Not good at customer service. Not AT ALL Sooo snippy. Had a 20.00 tip for him but decided against giving it as soon as he opened his cocky mouth. I actually stopped him and said to him "listen you dont have to fix this for me today." Booked a out of pocket glass replacement on my truck. The price seemed cheap, I even questioned that they confirm the price, which they did. Scheduled two weeks out on a Monday 8 am to 1 pm. Received a call the morning if the install stating that they had to reschedule because they were short handed. We rescheduled for a few days later. On the morning of the new install date I received a call from a technician stating that they were not allowed to work on my truck because it was a pre 2000 model year. I tried to call the store manager, they would not answer. Completely aggravated I called customer service. The rep stated that if the vehicle was in the system and they had the glass that there should be no issues. I was connected to the branch manager to straighten things out. Now my vehicle was to tall because it was a Ford f600. I asked if they would do the install if it was a f250. She said, "yes". Well the f250 is taller. When I tried to call customer service my phone number must be flagged because now when ever I call from my phone, no one is available. I called from my son's phone, this time the response was I don't recognize your phone number. Please enter the work related phone number. When I did, all of a sudden no one was available again. I called Payless. They installed the glass the following day. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!! read more

No show. Appt was scheduled for between 12 & 4 to have a few dings fixed in windshield. No one showed and when I called I was given several reasons why (including it's been raining all day!?) and then the person on the phone hung up on me. I scheduled my Safelite Auto Glass windshield replacement online about a week or so prior to the day of my appointment 6/22/2020. I arranged for the replacement service to be done between the hours of 12 noon to 5PM. I was very pleased with the communication I received through Safelite stating when my technician Edwardo would arrive. I was made aware Edwardo was running ahead of schedule and that he would arrived at 11:45AM. PERFECT! I didn't have to waste an entire afternoon waiting! Edwardo was very respectful and courteous, stating he would be finished in approximately 45 minutes. Once Edwardo was finished he went over them warranty information and they do's and don't's I need to be aware of over the next 24 hours after replacing my windshield. I had a pinhead size chip in my windshield, had an appointment at Safelite to repair it. Manager came out and said, no problem we can repair that. 10 minutes later a young man pulls my car out of the bay, and I have a 6" crack and he tells me I need a new windshield. i Asked him what happened, he said the crack grew, not his fault. I tell him there was no crack before, he said there was. I go back to the manager and he tells me sometimes it happens because it is under pressure when they are repairing it. I say it was a pin size chip, and you said you could repair it. He says it was the size of an eraser, and it sometimes spreads under pressure. If I had known about the possibility of it cracking I would have fixed it myself. A no cost repair cost me $450. I guess I learned a lesson. I would like to know how much pressure their machine and anchor was applied to the window, and is it adjustable? Could the tech have made a mistake! I'll never know, but I do know both guys lied to me. read more

I took my car to then to get a side window replacement, the window didn't match the others , the tint was lighter, they also broke my rear passenger window switch . They said they would replace it and call me within the week. It was two weeks past so I called customer care corporate,, they said there was no notes about the switch or that it had been ordered!! I asked multiple times before I left if I needed paperwork, they didn't give me an invoice and blew me off saying that no worries that they would take care of it ! Well 450$ worth of a horrible job ! I could have bought the window myself self fro the dealer and replaced it myself and not have broken the switch!! Nice to blow off any future business from me by not replacing a 35$ switch . This experience cost me money. The technician put another driver's inspection stickers in my car, forcing me to get a new inspection months before I was due. Safelite has no customer service program. Multiple calls to a robot system ended with no response. Cannot reach the shop directly. AVOID SAFELITE AT ALL COSTS. read more

I had to pay $399 with Geico comprehensive for my rear window. I thought glass replacement is free. This review is fishy. If i select 5 stars, it created its own write up fake story. So i select 4 stars and write what i want to say. The guy was okay. But i didnt get the knob that holds the rear glass in place. So when i drive, i hear air noise and is not water proof. Should my glass be free from Geico or am i being takkng advantage of? Should safelite provide the knob for the glass? Is my job 100% done or not? read more

Set up an onsite appointment through my Allstate app on Wednesday after a tree went through my windshield. Was confirmed a 12-5 appointment on Friday​. Received an AM call saying they may not have the windshield for the install (yet the still schedules the original appointent​ with no windshield available​). Received a 4:00 call canceling​ the call. Promised a 9:00 Monday​ install... we shall see! Next time I will find someone local who can actually tell me if and when they will have the windshield instead of having me wait 5 hours​ for a no-show. On 12/15/14 I had my Windshield replaced at the Safelite location in Whitehall, PA. The installation was smooth and the employees were friendly. After the new windshield was replaced I now can hear a whistle coming from the drivers side when I am traveling between 35 and 45 mph. This is very annoying. 12/23/14 Update: Safe has contacted me to resolve this issue. 12/29/14 Update: Mobile Service Tech came to my house to try and fix the problem. Before he worked on the car, he pointed out that the moldings did not look like they fit snugly to the car anymore. After he inspected the car to try and eliminate the whistle, he commented that the moldings do not re-attach correctly after it was serviced. I contacted Safelite with this information and am waiting on a call back from Safelite to find out how this will be fixed. 12/31/14 Update: Went to the Safelite location in Whitehall again and they were able to reconnect the moldings on the sides of the windshield after bending a few clips to get it to fit correctly. In regards to the rubber seal where the mobile technician said the crimp-marks were from when the moldings being removed, the technicians in the store said that it must have always been like that and there was nothing they could do. The Whistle/Wind Noise has been reduced, but is still present. read more

God help anyone who needs to reschedule an appointment if there is an issue. I've been running in circles the past hour to try and talk to someone and it's just not happening. Their live chat CS isn't on the same page as their "live" CS and they could not schedule me an appointment for some reason (why even have this option when they can't do anything). Just an awful CS experience all around. Mind you the recalibration for this system was 600$, more than the windshield itself, and I understand that sometimes it doesn't take at first, but to make it impossible to talk with the people that worked on your car is infuriating and a huge time waste. I want to thank the wonderful technicians that took care of my 2014 Subaru Legacy today at the Whitehall location. They were so understanding and professional. I was driving to see my daughter in college, when a piece of ice flew off a truck coming from the other direction. Hit my windshield straight on. Thankfully I was not hurt. I drove my car to their location. They fixed my windshield in about a hour. They clean out all the glass from the inside of the car, it was like it never happen.
