I need it working as soon as possible and Capitol Auto told me they didn't do transmission repair. They referred me to another business but they wouldn't be able to take me for over a week. I found a place that said they would take it that day and areanged a tow. The tow truck driver told me it wasn't a transmission problem which was good news. Still, I sent it to the shop I had made arrangements with. They took my truck in and called to tell me that it would cost, "at least $3,000" because they were going to have to rebuild the whole back end. It was Friday and they told me they would give me a better estimate on Monday. On Saturday, I received a quote via text for $1,600 which included a $300 diagnostic fee. Anyway, I paid the $300 and had my truck towed to Capitol Auto. They checked it out and found a cable that had come loose. They connected and secured it and road tested the truck. They found no other problems. I asked how much my bill was going to be and they did not charge me! Who could ask for more! Capitol Auto is simply amazing! I plan to continue using their services for many years to come and highly recommend them.

Today, I took one of my vehicles there and the guy in the main office said he didn't have anyone doing inspections today and then was very condescending and decided to educate me on why I should call before hand to make sure they were doing inspections that day. He told me I should go to a different place if I just want to walk-in for a safety inspection. I've been in Hawaii for over a decade and have several vehicles, every safety inspection I've ever done has been on a walk-in basis. I get it, people have bad days, emergencies happen and people have to leave work, ownership can change. It just doesn't sit right with me when one person is saying I don't need to be calling and another is lecturing me on why I didn't call and telling me to go somewhere else.

I brought my modified 2026 Tesla to Derrick at Island Brake & Alignment, and he absolutely nailed it and knew what I was talking about when I mentioned the issues. He found the alignment specs were not as I was told after putting it up on his rig. He also pointed out the fast wear that was occurring even though it was supposed to be aligned properly. After Derrick worked on the car, the steering wheel is straight, the car tracks perfectly, and the car drives smooth and straight. You can tell Derrick cares for his customers and their cars. Ed took the time to see why it wasn't working correctly & I had shared with him that earlier in the day I had removed my spare. He noticed the wires weren't connected properly (from the place I just left) allowed me to reconnect so I wouldn't "fail" inspection & have to take another day to come back to redo it. My suggestion, if you're in a hurry in the morning, you're better off coming at 530am to be at the front of the line. I arrived at around 630am and I was the 5th car in line waiting. I waited till about 845am before it was my turn. So if you're thinking it'll go by quickly...it does not. So dedicating a good portion of your early morning to get your safety check done is a must. There's only one guy who's able to do the safety checks so being patient will go a long way. I believe the only days they don't do safety checks are Wednesday's and Sunday's. As long as that one uncle is in working, they're able to do it. Been going to this location for years and have no complaints about this specific service. $26 and they take both cash and card. Also please be aware of the curb in front of Hi Runner's next to Oil Changers. I seen a few people drive over it and scrape the underneath of their car lol.
