I had a misunderstanding with this business. I sent my wife out to get the safety check done on our 2013 Toyota Sienna. She was denied because the insurance card was expired. I printed it at home that night, and she went back to them and said they wouldn't take the new card. I started to get really irritated cause every time my wife goes out to do something like this, it ends up being harder than what it should be in my opinion. My wife was telling me that the card that I printed out said that it was only considered valid if it was viewed through the app. My wife tried explaining it to me, but I got more irritated because her explanation didn't make sense to me. I decided to go there in person after my wife left to find out what was going on. I drove all the way from Kailua to the shop in Ewa and was honestly steaming mad cause the whole reason I asked my wife to do it was because I was busy with our business affairs and was trying to delegate some of the workload and now it was getting messy--again. Anyway, I walk into the door and am greeted by this really sweet girl. I tell them that I am the husband of the lady with the white sienna. I wanted to know what was going on so I asked what the deal was. They explained that me texting the picture of the card was ok, but the printed copy just wouldn't work. It was a very simple explanation that I understood. What really stood out to me is that there wasn't one moment while I was in there that the owner in the back or any of the guy workers or the girl at the front lost their composure. They remained professional. The girl kept smiling the entire time, and I was just unable to stay mad anymore. Fire in me...poof...gone. Strangely, I walked out of there just overall impressed with their responses despite me walking in there with "Asshole attitude" stamped all over my face. I've also been talking our vehicles here for a number of years to do safety checks. I find it a valuable service because they are always quick and friendly. First time coming here for my safety check and it was a smooth experience. I went during the first week of March on a Monday morning around 9am. Checked in at the office and was second in line. Paid the lovely lady managing the front with a credit card and total was about $25 for the safety check. There are a few chairs inside the small office if you need to wait, but I didn't have to. After paying, I drove my car to the front where three guys were ready to do inspections. Rudy helped me and he was friendly, fast, and efficient. You stay inside your car while he walks you through what to do, which made everything easy. He also noticed a nail in my tire that I had no idea was there. I really appreciated the good eye because I was able to get it fixed right after. Once my car passed, he placed the safety sticker on and handed me the inspection paperwork. It's that time of the year again that I needed safety check as service. I notice cost was better than what my dad stated where he goes. Haha well, I Went and did a walk in after I picked my kids from school. Front desk said it'll take 5-10 mins u til I'm next and that I can wait in the van with my kids and they'll come and get me and direct me what to do. Normally I drop my keys off and walk around but this time I wasn't with the hubby and I had 4 kids with me (2 elementary kids, a toddler and an infant) and not much places to walk around since longs closed. Anyway, I waited in the car about 5 mins and they came to direct me to the front. The worker did his thang in such an orderly fashion which was fast and easy. It was really less than 5 mins from start to beginning. He slapped the sticker on my vehicle and off I went. I broke down one day, dropped my truck off and went to work. They called me and said my battery was shot and they had to change battery, serpentine belt, and the belt tensioner. I pick up my truck and the bill is $1600 for those three parts. I broke down two days later electrical problem. Wouldn't recommend them to anyone! read more

Specifically came to Ewa Beach Auto Repair for my car's first safety check inspection. Found this place from a Google search and a Yelp Reviews inspection. Located near the end of Ewa, on the right side of the shopping center that has a Longs and McDonald's, but nearest to the Ewa Beach US Post office is where you find this shop. Parking might be a bit hard if the area is busy, but its required for you to park in a stall in check in for your safety inspection at their office. Proof of insurance and Car registration is required and I paid about $26 and change for my mid size SUV. Receptionist was very nice and welcoming. Everyone else in the shop was nice since the office area is small, the other workers where walking back and forth helping other customers but we're very polite while walking between me and 3 other customers waiting in line for their safety check check in. Once your documents are verified and you paid, you can then roll your car around to get in line for your safety check inspection. It's all walk ins and you get to stay in your car! They ask you when to roll up, when to turn on certain lights, windshield wipers, etc. With me being there from beginning to end and them helping me with 5 customers in front of me, I was there for about 25 minutes. I also did come mid day on a weekday mid month. Definitely recommend this place for a quick and efficient safety check inspection. read more

Hardest part of having car safety inspection done here was showing up with the correct paperwork! I usually leave all the car stuff to the other half to do. However this time I didn't have a choice. Come early for inspection with CURRENT car insurance for the correct vehicle (I had the wrong insurance card for the wrong car) and your car registration. When they call your name, drive up, have them "inspect," your car, pay and drive away with new sticky bling. The line may seem intimidating especially towards the end of the month but it moves quickly! read more

The efficiency of this place needs to be studied. I waited til the last minute to do my safety check (I'm just a girl ok). I called around asking about availability, This was the 4th business I called -- I'm based in Kapolei so I tried everyone in Kapolei first. No luck. Next best area is my hometown. The receptionist was quick to answer on the second ring, unfortunately she didn't mention her name so I can't credit her ): but she was kind and told me the wait was 20min. Seriously, this used to be my favorite garage to go get all my cars, and jetski inspected because it was quick, simple, very efficient, and the inspectors were very professional. Even the ladies at the desk were friendly and professional. Unfortunately, they have a new inspectors who tend to be anal and nitpicky regarding having stickers in your back window. Although my truck has passed countless safety inspections with a current sticker "veteran", I was wary about paying the money for the safety inspection and then have them say I have to remove the sticker. Therefore, I elected not to even attempt to get the safety inspection. I would rather take my business elsewhere, than to trust their judgement of these safety inspectors. But it is kind of ironic that these inspectors can determine whether a sticker on back window limits your sight visibility from the outside of the vehicle, and not from the inside while sitting in the drivers seat? Also, another issue is all those parking stalls in front of post office being illegally blocked with cones, thus causing traffic issues. Shoutout to this place. My normal shop I go to for safety unfortunately closed down. So had to find a new spot. Other places I called around and either you need an appointment or other places are limited times like from 9am-2pm which I think limits their bussiness. Oh wells. Anyway, came upon this spot since I yelped it and wanted to give it a shot. Other places I called and looked on yelp said they have 1-2 hour wait sometimes all day like for a safety check? Maybe they have one person so everything? Not sure but that's not how you run a bussiness specially if you want to have money coming in. Hire a special person just to focus on safety checks! When I called, lady in front was very prompt to answering literally half a ring and picked up. Which is great and I liked instead of ringing for 5 mins like other places. When I came to the shop, GPS took me right to Texaco gas station. I had to call to ask exactly where they were. Lady told me by post office right across which is funny because I go to the post office all the time and knew this was a car shop place but never knew the name of the shop. Now I know. Service was fast. I was seen right away. In and out since they had a couple people doing safety checks! Gave the front receptionist small tip including the safety guy who did my car! That's how I like it, speedy, fast and professional. If other places was like this I would go to them but this will most likely be my to go to place for safety checks for my vehicles. Went in for my safety check. The wait was a little less than an hour, but I got comfortable in my car and it went by quickly. Granted it was the end of the month and they let me know what the wait looked like when I gave them my information and paid. The tech was quick and apologized for me having to wait.
