One of our garage door springs snapped and disabled the door being able to roll up. This occurred on a Friday night after business hours so I searched on Yelp for a garage door repair company. We had previously used a different company that we were pleased with, so I posted a request for estimate on their Yelp page. Almost immediately I received a post from Safety Garage Door advising they could come out and give an estimate within two hours that night, and provided information about what their company could do for us. I heard from two other firms later that night, but nothing from the original company I asked. Safety followed up again the next morning, and I told them I was still waiting to hear back from the original company I queried. I never heard back from them, so today I asked Safety to come out and give us an assessment/estimate. They gave us a two hour window this morning, but called back stating their technicians were held up and asked if we could push back today's appointment two hours later. No problem. The two men showed up within that time frame, assessed the door and provided what I felt was a decent price for spring replacement. They also found rollers and bearings that were close to failing and showed me the evidence. They had the parts on the truck and were able to complete the job within an hour, in addition to balancing the door, checking the sensor and lubricating the rollers. They explained some other issues that might cause problems in the future but did not pressure us into replacing items that were still functional. Great communication throughout and they worked carefully while treating our property with respect. Overall I am pleased at the whole experience and would definitely recommend Safety to anyone needing garage door repairs or replacement. read more

Our garage door spring broke and we reached out to several companies on Yelp to come assess the damage and quote for replacement spring. One of their technicians came out and said we needed "heavy duty" spring for our door and it would cost 350 for spring replacement. They said " we can change now , we drove all the way here " in a passive aggressive tone. What's the point of a "free" assessment if you are going to pressure people to pay on the spot and act unhappy when they need more time to think about it? He was professional, educational, and answered our questions, while being kind and respectful. I requested service for a broken garage door spring, assuming it was a standard item. Matt arrived promptly at the time I booked. He was friendly and knowledgeable, and he was surprised to see my garage door and spring was not standard. He promised to get me a quote that day, and when the supplier didn't get back to him in time, he called to check in and let me know he was still working on it. The next day Matt escalated the job to Ammar, who brought a variety of rarely-needed springs to the service call and he was able to complete the job. He explained exactly what it was about my door that was so unusual (the previous owner had installed an exceptionally heavy door for such a narrow space) and made me feel completely satisfied that I really did require the heavier spring. Here's the best part: after he replaced the broken spring, he noted that the rollers were getting pretty worn and that the existing garage door motor was not optimal for such a heavy door, but instead of trying to pressure me into roller replacements or a new motor, he told me how to keep the rollers lubricated to prolong their life as much as possible and said there was no problem to keep using the current motor but just to be aware it probably wouldn't last as long as we might expect. Bottom line: these guys are honest, knowledgeable, dependable, and they're not going to give you a hard sell. Had my garage door opener replaced by Safety Garage Door today. The technician was courteous and knowledgeable. He balanced the door so that it stays put when halfway up in manual mode. The new system, although a chain type, is much quieter than I thought. Possibly because of the balancing fix. I misread their quote thinking the price included the whole opener system. Later the technician replaced the horizontal rail because the old one wasn't compatible and there was an extra charge for that. I was surprised because I thought the rail should be part of the whole system and not be charged as extra. The owner promptly called me and explained the reason. It turned out that they did have a note below the five quoted options. The note covers my situation where extra charge may occur if the existing rail isn't compatible. I thought the note applied to Option 5 only because it was right below it, and I chose Option 1. Now that I think about it, the quote is quite reasonable, there's no trick or anything. Anyway, I think this is a very good company to work with. No deceiving or anything. When my other garage door opener is ready for replacement, I'll hire them again. Shoutout to Sharif and also the person who called to schedule the visit. Sharif's work and evaluation saved me from buying a whole brand new door. He was able to fix and salvage the existing door, saving me thousands of dollars. Very happy with the knowledge, price, efficiency and friendly and reliable service! I used yelp to find garage door services that were top rated and close to me and Safety Garage Door came up first. On a Sunday, around 3:30 pm, while using the garage door, one of the panels popped and came out of alignment. I was concerned about securing the home. FYI my garage door was always popping and I was told that's as good as it gets for such an old garage door. Finally one of the panels popped out of alignment, making a gap in the door. I was concerned about securing the home. By 6 pm the garage door was fixed! All 12 plastic brackets were replaced with heavy duty metal, coils were adjusted and tightened and the track and gear were upgraded to lift a heavier door. Not only were the panels aligned properly but the door lifts more efficiently without popping. I've had other technicians look at the garage and told me that's as good as it gets, with the popping noise, or that the brackets were no longer manufactured and that I would have to replace the whole garage door.
