My husband and I stayed at the Chase Suite Hotel while we were in El Paso, and it was a lovely…read morestay. We had stopped here before on a previous visit and so were looking forward to returning. Our room was really spacious (a studio suite with two full beds) and had all the accoutrements (including a fully equipped kitchen), with a wide bar and seating to separate the kitchen and living areas. The furniture was new and attractive, and the beds were comfortable. (Note: if you're used to sleeping in a queen-size bed as a couple, you may prefer each occupying a full-size bed, as they are definitely smaller.) Everything was clean and neat and very welcoming. The cost of our room was very reasonable, even including the pet fee for our cat. Every single person on staff was extremely friendly, especially Sal in the breakfast area (5-star service!). The free hot breakfast every morning was delicious and a great way to start our day. We do wish the breakfast area could institute sustainable practices in the form of reusable cups, dishes and silverware. Every room has a recycling container as well as a trash can under the sink, so the management is aware of sustainability needs. The layout of the buildings is peaceful and calming, and reminiscent of a small apartment complex. The landscaping is xeriscape and attractive. Despite its location (right off Montana and Airway), the area is very quiet and safe. We did encounter a few small issues: a loose outlet at the bar; low water pressure and a faulty diverter in the shower; lack of handy information about the property (e.g., location of the gym, line-up of TV stations); occasional difficulty reaching the front desk by phone; and no lighting at the desk where one might choose to work. But these were just small issues and certainly did not pose any problems. Again, we had a delightful stay at the Chase Suite Hotel, and we look forward to another visit the next time we are in El Paso!

When we were done with the evening, we hopped on the events streetcar and were entertained by the lovely notes of Adriana Nevarez. She sang a variety of songs for the occasion. It was pretty awesome. Liz and the kids were dancing, I got into it as well. We were distracted with the Nevarez tunes, but I know that the Wi-Fi was up, if I needed it The streetcar was clean and the riders were super respectful - all there for a good time. We tracked our cars with the Sun Metro app. Love the EP Streetcar.

After brief research online and in El Paso tourist magazines, we discovered GeoBetty Tours and gave Don a call. We're so glad we did! Don has recently turned his lifelong passion for the outdoors into a business, and we were so grateful to him for dropping everything to accommodate our last-minute request. When we called Don, we asked him about a mountain biking tour of the Franklins, and he customized an outing for us, taking our skill level, interests, and time frame into account. He communicated back and forth with us as he firmed up plans, and even when a major biking event was rained out and rescheduled for the day of our tour, he bent over backwards to ensure we'd still have bike rentals and rearranged his day for us. All we had to do was show up at the park at a specific time. Don reserved and picked up our high-quality mountain bike rentals from a local cycle shop, and supplied helmets, gloves, a Camelbak, and everything necessary to have a great day on the trails. And what a great day it was! We're pretty sure no one knows more about El Paso, the trails, the park, or the nature than Don. Don's a well-known local guy who leads bike and hike tours in many parks in West Texas. He led us at our own pace through the park, providing just enough challenge for an adventurous day for us novices. We learned so much and had a lot of fun! Our hours spent with Don were worth every penny. Next time we're in El Paso, we'll definitely go on a bike or hike with Don and GeoBetty Tours.
