Wandered in thinking this was a fruit and veggie market and was immediately hit with the visual disarray, I realized it was grocery liquidation store. Since I was already there, I ventured through. Huge bags of shredded carrots, prepackaged bags of chopped salads and other produce nearing expiration date for just a $1. I grabbed two. Containers of cut up watermelon, cantaloupe as well as whole bananas and other produce very cheap. Picked up an onion to use for that night's dinner. Didn't want to buy anything I couldn't use immediately as these veggies are a day or two away from going bad. Shelves and carts filled with canned pantry items, cereals, breakfast bars all nearing expiration - good for families that go through these items weekly. By the checkout there were some Chocolove and Theo chocolate bars. These are high end chocolate bars that usually sell for $3.99 a bar and here they were just a $1 with an expiration of Dec 2021 so I picked up two. That alone was worth the stop! Items move fast which is why the store is in a constant stage of unpacking. Huge outdoor area with produce located close to street - don't forget to check it out. In addition to produce they had 6 packs of bottled water, huge containers of pretzels, bags of dog food and other items.. Very random, no rhyme or reason, seems like items are placed where there is room. Friendly owner and staff, everyone chatting with everyone; clearly there are lots of regulars. They take credit cards. Parking out front. I missed the turn into the lot so parked around the corner by the Goodwill and walked over. This store is exactly what it is. A market that takes in items close to expiration and liquidates on the cheap. It's not New Seasons! So as long as you set your expectations and you have a need for these type of items, it's all good. Dropped in after being gone a while, No carts or baskets available, nothing in the outside produce area was marked, nothing! Canned foods were a dollar a can. The apples ended up being $.79 a pound but you didn't know that till you checked out. I mean a card board sign tacked to a post is too hard to manage? I'm part of a growing number of grocery store employees known as "The Working Poor" so Im on the lookout for deals of any kind. I often frequent places like Grocery Outlet and such. On my first visit to everyday deals I knew it wasn't glamorous, but the prices are the lowest anywhere. The store is small, cluttered and the cashier is slow, but where else are you going to buy a box of wine for $6? Their canned goods, snacks, frozen food and produce are a real bargain. If you're on a budget then you should swallow your pride and visit this store. read more

YIKES. No idea what happened here.. such a bummer. Not to just be an echo chamber of other reviews, but this store is in complete disarray and is totally not what it used to be!! Old/nearly expired canned food, liquidated clothing and makeup thrown in boxes everywhere,.. it's as if someone went dumpster diving and then slapped a price tag on what they found. Half of the store is unruly and unorganized.. I mean, it's just sad. Also, the "deals" on produce are just about the same as Winco up the street, and the only "deals" are on the expired jars of food and expired dollar store makeup. Really bummed by changes under new ownership... much narrower and FAR more outdated stock. $2 boxed cereal and chips a year out of date? Severely dented cans of beans for $1? These are not deals. Extremely RUDE CLERK. I will never return to this store and recommend others stay away. The clerk apparently had an injured foot and was on a scooter. Well as she was talking to someone in front of her she started backing up without looking behind her. She was inches from me in my sandals and I tapped her on the shoulder saying "please don't run over my foot." Instead of any sort of apology, she got mad at me and lied about seeing me behind her and that there was no way she would hit my foot. I said "you should look where you are going" and she became irate. Finally saying "I work here" as justification for being rude to her customers. She started yelling "I quit, I quit" but then walked behind the cash register and back to work. I guess this store's position is: "shop here at your own risk!" read more

A local news reporter did a "field trip" to Morrow Bros one morning and we just happened to catch it on TV, went there a few hours later. The entire place is clean, well-stocked, and the family owners are truly amazing. Don came to the register to bag up our purchases and was so excited when we told him where we were from and how we found the market. He couldn't believe we drove all the way from Tigard to Happy Valley just to shop at the store. We met Wendy while there also, very friendly and helpful. No complaints about customer service or how the customer is treated. My only complaint was that while the produce was mostly good, with a great selection, much of it seemed slightly like seconds. Case in point: the Honey crisp apples were an unheard of 99 cents a pound and I did find a handful to take home, but almost every single one I looked at had a tiny worm hole, dent or imperfection. Which is fine if you plan on making applesauce or apple crisp. The same with the bagged cherries, every single cherry in the bag I bought had a split or a ding in it. Again, not so bad since I used them in smoothies and a dessert. The one major disappointment was the asparagus, mine rotted in the fridge overnight so I never got to taste it. We also bought a few tomato plants that are thriving in our garden right now as well as a few potted herbs. Great selection of hanging plants, garden plants, garden ornaments, etc. I still believe it's a good idea to support these family-type of businesses but just be careful when choosing your fruits & veggies. This is a great place to find bulk amounts of produce on the cheap! We find this very useful for Juicing, dehydrating, or whatever other culinary projects we have lined up. Love being able to support our area with local produce selections. Be sure to check Groupon for little deals here and there! The staff is friendly, and helpful too! But as others have stated, you need to be a smart shopper. I occasionally will find an item that is expired, but there are signs warning you to check the expiration dates, so no harm done so far. We really enjoy the "Hazelwoods Habenero Salsa" they sell there. Its got a nice kick to it! This is a little gem on 82nd when you know how to shop with them. I love Morrow Brothers so much. They have some of the best produce in my area and for sure the best prices. We eat tons of fruits and veggies and go through them rather quick so this is the perfect place to stock up without breaking the bank and I can get organic! There are usually deals going on when I'm in. Unlike my other local organic stores close by, I'm not paying 10 bucks for a bag of grapes! Today, I scored 3 cases of tomatoes for 99 cents! Also, a cool little fun fact is that they sell a good little variety of beers by the bottle and you can get your growler filled with some great local brews!! I discovered Pyramids apricot beer here. So delicious!! Staff, for the most part, are very friendly and sweet. The vegetables seem to be on constant care. There is usually always some checking to make sure the shelves are fully stocked, veggies cleaned and watered and customers are doing alright. This has been a staple stop in my grocery getting for quite some time now, I'm almost always thrilled with what they have (selection rotates quickly). Today put me over the top, my daughter hit her nose on the cart, instant tears. They don't carry ice, but without thinking offered us a free bag of edamame from the freezer to sooth the pain. When this place was Morrow Bros, it was a GEM. Now that it's called Everyday Deals, it's truly horrible. The food is gross, moldy, way past expired, with random pallets and boxes everywhere. It's truly sad. I miss the old Morrow Bros! I won't go back. The word "unbelievable" isn't often used literally, but it describes how I feel about Morrow Bros. prices. I honestly struggle to believe they're real - especially given how often their items are organic and/or local. Here's a recent but completely typical example, comparing Fred Meyer prices to Morrow Bros: Organic Bananas Fred Meyer: $.89/lb Morrow Bros: $.39/lb Apples (Braeburn, Fuji, Pink Lady) Fred Meyer: $1.49/lb Morrow Bros: $.69/lb Organic cherries Fred Meyer: $7.99/lb Morrow Bros. $.99/lb It's that way all year round, with all kinds of fruit and vegetables. You can't necessarily predict what the amazing deals will be (it's a bit like Grocery Outlet or Ross in that sense), but any basic produce NOT on ridiculous sale will still be stocked at competitive prices. Produce aside, it's a small market, and prices on non-produce items are hit-or-miss. My family buys milk here since it comes from a local dairy in Salem, and today they had great deals on candy (I made a mental note to stop in before my next trip to the movies). However, I bought Bob's Red Mill flour and then later found it for $2.50 less at Freddy's. In summary, I feel like I'm losing money every time I DON'T buy my produce here. Even if you have to visit a different store for non-perishables, it's worth the trip to Morrow Bros. for fruits and veggies every time. read more

Awesome produce for CHEAP. They even have local and organic items. Check the stickers carefully though, some organic and conventional fruits and veggies get mixed up by careless customers. Today, I got 2 cases of organic mangoes, 18 total, for $6!!! For all the negative reviews regarding expired goods, the store has signs all over telling you to check expiration dates. I, for one, have never gotten anything expired. The only thing I wish they had was more of is organic produce, but that's probably not their fault. read more

I wouldn't bother buying anything here except local berries. Most of their other produce is gross or rotting. The watermelons were squishy to the touch... I've never even seen a squishy watermelon, much less at a produce market. Almost all the honeydew melons they had were moldy, the one I found that wasn't ended up being under ripe. I bought a bag of peaches that were stringy and bland - I ended up throwing the whole bag out. There is also no organization when it comes to checking customers out, the last two times I've been there someone has cut me in line because it's so disorganized and the cashiers aren't paying attention. I'm giving two stars only because I've had good luck there with summer berries. read more

Morrow's Has My Vote! Here we have the epitome of what a small local grocery should be. I'm just a huge fan of the is place, and every time I go I'm impressed with what they come up with. Fruits and vegetables are the staple here of course, and are always very fresh, local, and sold with the season. Living on my own, its very convenient to pop in and grab a fresh salad mix, some produce, heck I even buy some of my supplements here because of the value prices. The Morrow's hit on one very very important thing in business. They know their customers, and treat them with respect. I always feel very welcomed there, and they go out of their way to provide some nice extras for being such a small store, i.e. proper hand baskets and small carts, a growler fill station, and seasonal items. I've never been disappointed with anything I've tried here. I have seen some reviews that made some negative views of this place. I can understand in a sense. They do offer close out deals on some products purchased from other large retailers. I think it's important to understand that part of knowing your customer is understanding the neighborhood in which you do business. There's a lot of people living just off the lower 82nd Ave area that are low income and need a place they can get to on the bus or walk to that offers some cheap deals on food and non-food products, and a handy place where the Oregon Trail Card is accepted. It's important to remember that these are our neighbors too, and Morrow's is there for them just as much as it is for everyone else. Negatives? It's hard to find many, my only issue would be it's not a place to get dairy products. They have some good deals on things and carry some milk and eggs regularly, but for my diet I need a bigger selection that isn't close out items. I think it's a space issue here. I strongly recommend this place. These days the grocery business has become very cookie cutter with a corporate mentality, and the days of knowing your local grocer by name has gone by the wayside. Here some of that nostalgia returns, and they will gladly shake your hand, say thank you for shopping here, and make you feel that your money is going to the right kind of place. Our family loves this little place. We are excited there is small locally owned family run business where we can go to get our produce. I do most of my grocery shopping up the street at Trader Joes for my staples, then conveniently head over to Morrow Brothers for all my fresh produce and a few other great products. Their prices are reasonable and there is always a good sale. I love ghetto my perennials and other flowers here for my yard. I've never been disappointed with the quality of anything. There is ample parking and right off 82nd close to other businesses so you can get many errands done quickly. Their staff is pretty friendly and knowledgable. Morrow Brothers is a bit of a trek for me but I always come away with a boatload of produce and food for $15. Each time I go, there are different specials for them which can vary wildly! From gourmet marshmallows to a bin of apples that are a steal. You never know what your'e going to get! Most of the produce is fresh and local! A lot of times they'll run deals on produce that are past their prime so it can be tough to pick through the product. They have dry goods available as well and a section in the back for all the hottest deals (reminds me of grocery outlet) If you're a shopper looking for a good deal on a modest budget, this place will serve you well. As for the organic fruits and vegetables, very comparable to Costco and new seasons but with better pricing. The growler station it is really nice and completely unexpected and a little grocery store like that. After driving by this market a bazillion times I finally stopped in to take a look at their produce. Since I live near Happy Valley I am always on the lookout for fresh markets in the area. I was quickly disappointed. The produce was scarce and of poor quality. As I walked by a refrigerated area full of packaged lunch meat I soon noticed that the majority of their perishable items were not just expired but EXTREMELY expired. What great prices. They are always getting in local items and having specials - this last summer, I got some blueberries from Sauvie Island for $1.00 a pint!!! Just like most of the other reviews- I'm not sure what happened to this place once it stopped being Morrow Brothers. Went in yesterday to get some apples and I kid you not, the store looked like someone shock it around a few times and set it back- everything was disheveled, food looked old, lots of expired items but not by a few months, expired beginning of last year, lots of grocery carts full of random merchandise that just got in the way of actually being able to get around with my own grocery cart, only 2 gals working that looked like they didn't want to be there either. This place now reminds me of gleaners (if anyone knows what that is). Everyday deals probably gets everything from these distribution centers that take old/expired food from grocery stores and gives it to everyday deals who then resells the food. Horrible, will not be coming back here again. Sad what it has become. read more

This place is a definite hit or miss, but there always seems to be a good deal to be had. You most definitely have to check dates as well as use your produce within a day or two but being the bargain hunter that I am, I always seem to find something good. This produce market is very close to my home so instead of buying all my produce at WINCO on 82nd, now I shop by Marrow Bros. which is just a couple blocks from WINCO. Morrow Bros. has really great prices and I love the fact that I am buying local. I even found frozen wild salmon for 5.99/lb - wow! Their produce is wonderful. Yes some of the packaged products expired the day before or will expire the day you buy it, but there is no rotten or stale food. I got a 4-pack of Activia Blueberry Greek Yogurt for $1 - that's just a Quarter a cup, which expired the day I bought it. What a deal! Normally they are $1 each cup and they were delicious! I had one for breakfast each day. I'm munching on a delicious fresh strawberry I bought there as I write this! I always urge people to buy local. read more

I was very happy with my first trip here. After driving past this store often I finally tried it out. I loved the variety and prices on apples ($.89-$1.69/lb for the types I bought) and pears ($.69/lb) and they also had a lot of interesting types of squash you don't see in a regular grocery store. I meant to grab some kale (2 bundles for $1) as it was on my grocery list but forgot as I got distracted looking around and then paid double at Winco later in the day.
