    Mother's Day flowers
    Alejandra D.

stopped here out of convenience for flowers because I happened to be in the area even though I don't live near here. Come to find out that not all Safeway flower departments are the same and makes me appreciate my local Safeway even more. The girl on the phone was super rude when I asked why I couldn't just place a phone order. She said in such a rude tone that I had to come 'stand in line like everyone else' and didn't want to entertain my additional questions and said I could come in the store and ask. As if I live nearby. The saving grace was the girl who did the floral wrapping, sweet girl, and was able to hold my flowers in the cooler for me for a few hours while I ran my other errands in Elk Grove.

Our Starbucks Barista was so funny! He took our odd request for a layered strawberry shortcake drink and ran with it! Making a beautiful drink and making us laugh! He was fantastic! Great customer service!

I'm not sure If I or anyone has ever experienced grocery shopping and checking out without ANY acknowledgement or conversation...??? I put my items on the counter... nothing said.. Nothing said to how much my total was.. Nothing said about if I wanted a bag.. Nothing said when handed my groceries.. Guess my Safeway is a step up in customer service.. So sad! Guess I'll just go to self check out!

This Safeway market in Elk Grove is clean and comfortable. I enjoyed having my groceries shopping here. The Safeway in Elk Grove/Laguna Creek is around 30 years old. But they have kept up the store very well. It still looks pretty good in and out. I think they have done a couple of remodeling in the last 30 years. The store still looks up to date. I have no problem with the store layout. All items are in the place where I think they should be located. The meats and vegetables are fresh and reasonably priced. The employees here are helpful and courteous. I enjoyed shopping in this Safeway store.

    Deflated Ballon

This is my to go to Grocery Store besides Nugget/Trader Joe's. The prices at Safeway is descent and the employees are nice. I never really had a bad experience here. The reason why I took off 2 Stars is because the produce selection here is small. I rather go to the Safeway on Elk Grove Florin than this one. I came here to get berries like strawberries and blueberries but they didn't have either! I was really disappointed. In addition there was this deflated ballon that was displayed. It was blocking people way, I notice a lot of customers trying to hit the ballon so they can walk past the aisle. I'm surprise the store didn't get rid of the ballon. If I need produce skip, if I need other basic essentials I may drop in.

The berries looked beautiful -- fresh, bright, and exactly what you want when you're making something special and don't want to risk disappointing fruit. Produce quality really does make a difference, especially when it's the star of the dish. I also ended up finding a garlic olive oil I've been looking for, which felt like a bonus win. Nugget is great for those moments when you need something a little more specialty and don't want to drive all over town searching for it. The store was clean, well stocked, and easy to get in and out of, which I always appreciate when I'm just popping in for a few things during a busy day. It's one of those places where you can reliably find quality ingredients whether you're cooking something special or just grabbing everyday groceries. Final verdict: absolutely worth it.

The fresh baked bread here seems to be the best compared to other grocery stores in the area,…read morehowever it costs a lot more. The pugliese bread is my favorite as it is soft, fluffy, and taste delicious! The sourdough is also yummy and has a light airy consistency.  The sandwiches are made with the fresh baked bread and are delicious! Even though the store opens at 6am, the bread is not ready until 8-9am, therefore it is best to order a sandwich a couple hours after the store opens for the optimum selection of bread. I once made the mistake of ordering a sandwich at 7am and was only presented with two bread options: sliced bread or focaccia. I selected the focaccia and although the bread was tasty, it made for a very soft and ultimately soggy sandwich.  There is a large prepared/hot food section that is self-serve. On one occasion while I was selecting a soup to purchase I witnessed an employee wiping up the spilled food from the counter and putting it back into the large food tray. It was absolutely nauseating and I immediately questioned if I should even purchase the soup given the lack of proper food cleanup/handling.  The grocery items cost much more than other grocery stores for the same exact item. Nugget seems to carry a variety of high-quality ingredients and typical well-known brands. The cost of produce and meat is much higher than other grocery stores, although the meat is typically sourced from local farms.  During Thanksgiving Nugget carries a large selection of high quality turkeys. There are a few turkeys that are sourced from local farms that are advertised as natural, antibiotic free, and free range. When purchasing a Turkey for Thanksgiving it is always advised to call and preorder as the high quality turkeys sell out fast.

Right away this one felt a little harder to navigate. At the Land Park store, everything flows really well, especially the drink section where everything is grouped together. Here, it felt more like we were walking around trying to find things, especially the smoothies. It turned into a bit of a "where is it" moment instead of just grabbing what we needed and going. Once we did find everything, the selection was still solid and had what we were looking for, but the layout just didn't feel as intuitive. Helpful tip: If you're coming in for drinks or smoothies, give yourself a few extra minutes to find them since they're not all in one place like other locations....they can be found by the deli and fruit. It's still a good store overall, I just wish the layout was a little more streamlined because it would make quick stops a lot easier

The store is designed around produce--literally and philosophically--with fruits and vegetables forming the heart of the shopping experience. In fact, fresh produce is such a priority that it accounts for a significant portion of the store's sales and layout, reinforcing the idea that healthy living starts here . Food & Wine The variety is impressive. Whether you're searching for everyday staples or niche dietary items--keto, vegan, gluten-free, or plant-based--Sprouts delivers. Their bulk food section is a standout feature, offering everything from grains and nuts to candies and spices, allowing customers to buy exactly what they need. I stopped by the store this afternoon to get a few items. There was a shopping cart with various items in it, like mugs, s'more sticks, etc., and the shopping cart was labeled "75% off" for members. In the cart was also several small fruit cutting boards. I liked them, so I took three. There was no price label on any board. When I got to the register, I asked the cashier, Rachel, for a price check. The price came up as $14.99 each, no discount. I said I did not want them for that price, and that they were in the basket that said "75% off." Rachel responded that I was the third person that day to have them put back because the discount was not being applied. I told her that I really didn't want to put them back, and I think something needed to be fixed because they were being advertised as 75% off. Rachel asked if I'd like to speak to a manager and I said yes. She called the manager, Jason, over to help. He scanned the items again and confirmed that the discount was not being applied. He then offered to give me all three for $14.99. I said "Well no, because that would only be 66% off." Jason then looked at me incredulously and said "Wooooowwwww" as if he felt I was being unreasonable. Jason then rang the cutting boards up at $3.99 each (which is still not 75% off, but I didn't feel like pointing it out and being subjected to more attitude). Jason left and Rachel finished the transaction. Rachel then went on an on about how because Jason "did that for[me]" I could not return the cutting boards. I responded that I was not going to try to return the cutting boards, I obviously want them. She said "well someone might try and return them for $14.99 each!" and said it would reflect negatively on her because it was her register. I said to her again "I'm not going to return them," and she responded "there are cameras all around anyway." What was that supposed to mean?! I started to leave the store but the more I thought about it, the more upset I was with the experience. I turned around to ask Rachel what Jason's name was, because I didn't catch it during the first interaction. She told me his name and I said "thank you" but as I was walking away Rachel AGAIN said "You can't return them!" I did call Raley's corporate to tell them about it, and they focused mostly on the items not accurately reflecting the advertised discount. I reiterated that the main problem for me was the employees acting like I was being unreasonable for requesting the advertised discount. I'll probably continue to shop here because it is the most convenient grocery store near me, but I do feel like the staff needs a refresh on consumer protection laws and how to interact with customers who are simply expecting the advertised price or discount of an item.
