I stop here out of convenience and rarely fill up my tank. Never had issues with the gas pumps. The air pump is a waste of money. $3.00 for the air pump to take air out of my tires instead of putting air in it. It's a wanna be fancy machine that allegedly pre-sets the PSI, but is useless. Only because the prices are good. There always something wrong withe pumps here. Sometimes it doesn't pump, or it's pumping slow as a turtle or the latch to hold up the handle doesn't work but it's always something. Next time? Great price for gas, the service is really lacking and it feels more like they are cashiers instead of gas attendants. I feel that they should have hired more people with gas station experience that can at least resolve issues before it becomes a bigger issue like not having pumps are out of order. Those are issues that can be resolved so that these lines aren't so long and the only reason people get gas because the prices are really cheap. I pay at the gas pumps and not go up to the cashier unless the you can't pay at the pumps or if I use cash. Overall is lack of service and helpfulness with value gas prices. This is more of a three and a half star place. Five stars for the price. Cheaper than Costco gas and even the cheap place in Orinda where I usually fuel up. Extra discount if you have enough points on your Safeway club card. Two stars for crowded lines, lack of line management, a poor parking lot design that spits out the exiting cars into entering traffic, and overall confusion if it's your first (or even second) time there. But... it's cheap, convenient, and makes for one less errand to run if you gotta go shopping anyways. read more

I had to go to Hurcules for a dental emergency today. My partner had told me that you can get cheaper gas in both Hurcules and Richmond because they have oil refineries. When I drove by, I saw that gas was $4.19. I don't know of a less expensive place to buy gas in the Bay Area. This is less expensive than Costco--Ibdo believe. Tip: if you are going to drive by Hercules while on 80--pull into Hercules to gas up. read more

For the past two days in the morning around 6am the inside of the gas station has been closed. This morning I happen to noticed an employee inside and a delivery person ( I spot a Lays delivery truck ). So I knocked on the door and asked if the inside of the station was open because I wanted to pay with cash for my gas and possibly get snacks. The employee by the name of Thomas responded saying "Yes, the store is open but while I was on vacation nothing was done and I getting things done now ". "But as a courtesy if you're paying cash I can help you now". The transaction took place with me standing outside and slipping the money through metal tray. Thank you Thomas for doing a courtesy as one of your main job duties. And a big thank you with inconvenience of not being opened during normal, posted business hours. read more

Hubbers and I have been waiting for this gas station to open up for the sole reason of comparing it to the Shell across the street. (Although they have awesome workers, Shell's gas prices are just incredibly ridiculous.) Hubbers said he's gone a few times and their prices are reasonable. And if you have a Safeway card with enough points, you might be able to avail a 10cent/gallon discount. I came through, finally, for the first time. I guess I was kinda confused or a little disoriented as to where to line up (or if there was one?) but I finally got myself to a pump. That's when I noticed I was facing the wrong way (okay, MY fault since I saw another facing the same way so I thought it was okay AND I saw the sign much too late. It would have been a lot more trouble trying to correct it.) But yes, their gas prices are much lower than its counterpart gas station across the street. A worker came up to me looking REALLY annoyed telling me I was facing the wrong way. I apologized and explained it was my first time and didn't realize it until it was too late. What irked me is how she rolled her eyes at me and walked away. RUDE. A good first run otherwise. Close to home, reasonable prices... might just be our favorite gas station. read more

Gas is a nice price compared to other gas stations in the area. One thing I strongly hate (and yes hate is a strong emotion ) about this place is their one way in one way out rule. If your gas tank is on the opposite side you have to stretch the gas pumps hose. They don't allow you to back in or anything they are pretty strict here about that stuff. That is the whole reason it got 3 stars instead of 4. But overall I'll go here for the good prices on gas. They have no bathroom here but they do at the Safeway store right across the way. They do however have a fountain drink , icys , and ice cream for a small store surprisingly. Be careful at Safeway break-ins happen 24/7. Thanks for reading hope this helps ! read more

I love coming to Safeway gas station. The manager Nell does a excellent job with keeping the gas station clean and orderly. I gave four stars because my experience with a African American lady. She wears glasses and works the evening shift. Her attitude is horrible and rude. She goes out of her way to make people feel uncomfortable. I try my best to go in the mornings so i don't have to experience that lady. read more

One of the cheapest gas stations in town I've seen , the drawback is there's a long line he have to wait but the end result is he will be saving gas so it was worth the wait. It would be nice if more safe ways had gas stations available to bring down the lines. read more

Best gas prices on this corner. A ripoff Shell station across the street charging almost $1 more per gallon. Good job with the attempt at traffic control around the crowded gas station. This gas station has long hoses so it doesn't matter what side you pull up to. Pump was fast and the gassing area is clean. All in all a good gas station experience. read more

The gas prices are much lower than most places. At a time when gas is $4.99/gal, this place is $4.19/gal. The problem is how insanely crowded it is, and how extremely slow the fuel pumps are. There was one woman who was filling up her tank, and her car stopped for at least 15 minutes at her station. People behind were getting angry, thinking she left her pump unattended. I took a closer look and turns out it was STILL pumping. With the amount of time I waste waiting to get to a pump, I'd much rather go to a less crowded gas station and pay extra. At least there was someone to direct traffic flow, although I can't say he was polite either. What kind of customer service employee knocks on your window and yells, "What are you doing?! Go to that one!" when I'm waiting in line for a appropriate side pump. It was chaotic, they closed the whole station at around 8 pm for maintenance maybe? read more

An outstanding staff who helped me so much in a bit of a crisis.....this was the third gas station I tried to get air in my tires after the "low tire" indicator came on. Not a big deal per se, but this was the third station I tried. The first two either didn't have air that worked or equipment that worked or had personnel who were at the best very off-putting, not willing to help or answer questions. This place--and the guys working there--GREAT! The air supply is a very modern, easy to use and read machine that worked well. And when I wasn't sure about how much pressure I had put into the tire, one of the staff members (I'm so sorry I didn't get his name) came out and spent about 10 minutes helping me with all the tires to make sure everything was okay. Then he waited to make sure the indicator light went off AND that I was okay! He wouldn't accept a tip and just said, "It makes me happy to know you are safe." (300 mile drive ahead for me.) Now that's service! Can't say anything else about this store and I can tell you--these guys are the best! Thank you for making my trip safe and secure. read more

Went to get gas, the young lady african-American was rude and disrespectful told me I gotta move my vehicle around cause I'm parked in the wrong direction which I'm parked at the pump correctly. I have a broken foot a cast on my foot, and I asked the young lady can I please just pay and pump cause I can't move the car around because I have my broken foot. she was disrespectful and rude and told me no cause her manager says no I asked her please I have a broken foot can I just pumped please she started rolling her eyes huffing & puffing and had a attitude so I left and did not get gas and went somewhere else, I never felt so disrespected I never felt so horrible just try to get gas and the young lady can clearly see I have a cast on my leg she needs to be fired or retrain on customer service. I will never return to this gas station. I live in Pinole. This is my local gas station and I will never go there a day in my life again horrible experience shame on Safeway for hiring a person like that young lady. read more

Gasoline is okay but it's too crowded & don't even try to pump air into your tires because it will just make them more flatter. Never seen a air pump that sucks air out of your tires instead of putting air into them. Paid $2.00 and it made my tire more flat. Went from 33psi to 25psi. Please repair your tire pumps read more

I only gave this location one star because of the price on gas. If they didn't have good prices on gas I'd have given them no stars if Yelp would let me which it wont. The employees are EXTREMELY rude here. Ive had encounters with multiple of the employees and EVERY single one was very rude. Also their gas pumps take forever to fill up your car and it's always packed. One time i pulled in and an old African American man in his late 30s (he may be older) started to scream at me that they were closed and to leave. He then said "you don't see us blocking everything off?!" Which i didn't because i pulled in and got to the pump right before they started doing that. By the time he walked up to me i was already at the pump about to pay. I didn't even get a chance to notice that the pump said it was off before he came up to me and screamed in my face.
