I am so tired of this store being out of stock of common items. They know the area has grown significantly and they are the only grocery store for all of Milton and Edgewood, yet they still don't order enough products. I don't have time to shop multiple times a month and most don't. I'd like to get my groceries all together and not in piece mail. Also, where are the rainchecks online? At least you could make that easier for your shoppers and maybe I wouldn't be so angry right now. But I've been working on my online order for 3 days and now 6 of my 22 items are no longer available. It is Tuesday morning, you should not be out of stock. Not to mention, there are probably a lot less shoppers right now because of the gov't shut down, and you still are out of stock. Went to buy two items. Went to self checkout and there was a faulty card terminal at one that I was not made aware of. Lucky me ended up at said stand and when I went to put in my phone number it automatically applied my discount that I earned from purchasing other things at other times. Since the card terminal wasn't working, the lady told me it was having problems and that I have to move over to the next stand. I ended up having to pay full price AND losing out on my discount forever because it was not able to be applied to the second transaction and was lost during the first transaction. This was money out of my pocket that could have stayed there had there been proper communication. Instead, no proper communication and rather a bad experience. I would give 0 stars if I could. Absolutely the worst customer service from the older lady at the floral dept. I placed an order last year for 2 bouquets and had 0 issues and they turned out great but whoever this new lady is is absolutely terrible and I will never go to Safeway for flowers again! I placed an order for 2 bouquets one medium of white roses with pops of pink and I wanted the stems left long to cut to the height I wanted and the 2nd was for a bouquet of sunflowers with pops of blue (iris specifically but could be something else if they didn't get iris.) this lady charged me $77 for the tiniest bouquets of flowers I have ever seen! Not only that but they were nothing that I asked for. I had to make her remake the sunflower bouquet because it only had 1 sunflower in it and no blue at all even though I specifically requested all sunflowers and some blue and she just made excuse after excuse. Then the other bouquet that was supposed to be white roses with pink flowers and greenery she gave me a bouquet that had maybe 4 white roses in it and 2 pink flowers. That was it. No greenery. Nothing. I had to ask for baby's breathe to fill it and she didn't even give me that even though I specifically asked for it and I ended up having to go to another store to buy additional flowers just to make a full bouquet. She also cut both of them so short I could barely even arrange them properly and she had such a foul attitude when I questioned it. Never spending my money there again!!! read more

When I have seen criminals steal spirits and just walk out with NO enforcement! RUDE customer service too. Very costly and quality much worse than before. Bought a dozen ears of corn for a party tomorrow. In hulking them tonight we discovered they were very old...the silk sand top portion of most ears were rotten and slimy. A couple ears were rotted through, had to be trashed. Nearly all were beat up; smashed and bruised so we had to cut parts off. A big disappointment, we could pnly pare off the worst parts. No time to return before our guests arrive. Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service. I've been coming here for almost a year at least once a week. This time I decided to use pick up bc of my lunch hour. The woman takes FOREVER to bring me my groceries, hence, the point of pick up?? She then goes extremely slow and stops putting the groceries in my car to tell me a story! I tell her I don't have my ID I can come back and pick up my bottle of liquor. She conti us to talk and I tell her again it's OK take the liquor out of my car I'll come back I don't have time. She says ok ill put your name on it at customer service and bring your receipt. I'm off at 12. I come back with my receipt the self checkout teller gets the PIC who goes to find the liquor then says he can't find it....I have to go look for the liquor myself and find it right in the same aisle as usual. We go up to checkout and he asks me to pay for the liquor. I again have to explain the ENTIRE STORY bc he's not paying any attn or listening. He then tells me I need to call safeway.com in the morning. I took the receipt and walked out. A waste of my time and such a disappointment. Extremely frustrating and irritating. This isn't ok at all or fair and it's highly annoying to waste your customers time like this. read more

I am in the process of buying a house and used this Safeway for some money orders. Unfortunately the original register receipt was lost by me. Their Customer Service and Management Team went far above and beyond to get me documents supporting the fact those money orders did in fact come from their location. Because these employees did so much, and so many people helping I was able to keep my closing date and not lose my house. Great staff, great people. read more

Recommend Manager Stephanie has a refresher on her customer experience skills . Today when visiting this location to purchase things for my sick girlfriend, I had a question for the friendly cashier Cindy about the price discrepancy of the Vicks humidifier I was purchasing. The website showed this item should be $13 cheaper than the store had it priced as. Cindy quickly got her manager Stephanie involved, who instantly was dismissive and kept giving me incorrect information about why the price had a $13 difference. Instead of coming up with a solution she kept telling me if I ordered it online it would reflect the $13 cheaper price option. I informed her that I had already tried to order it this way, but once i went to check out my cart, the price would change. As a manager she could have easily corrected the price for me, $13 is well within her limit, but instead she talked down to me and belittled me. read more

You know what bothers me the most? The steady decline. First the produce began to take a nosedive. The stickers were strategically placed over the bruises on the apples. That's not an accident. Then the expiration dates seemed more frequently passed on the canned goods. Now I have to check the dates on everything. I used to be confident but now I'm skeptical. Today I got cranky. They DO NOT EVER have diet 7-up. I asked the checker if they planned to order any and she said she wasn't sure. I asked if they had any in the store ANYWHERE and she looked at the bagger girl and asked who the courtesy clerk was. Neither knew who to call so they didn't bother calling anyone. At all. I'm so tired of the poor service. I've been shopping here for over 20 years but it's becoming more apparent that they're just lazy. There are a few people who work here that still seem to care but so many who ruin it. I hate feeling like I'm inconveniencing them with my shopping needs. Seriously. I feel guilty for having to ask for help. I already hate grocery shopping and it's just more difficult to do now that they aren't helpful. I don't want someone to walk my full cart to my car. Just went here today. Heads up that you guys have an employee yelling at customers outside. I exited out of a the doors nearest to the Pet store. The doors were wide open so I didn't think twice about just leaving through there. Then an employee pushing carts yelled and told me I wasn't allowed to use that exit. This location is usually pretty decent, most of the staff are friendly and helpful. We did get a boneless steak once that ended up having a bone in it that seemed like it was purposely hidden by the packaging (but it might not have been on purpose, accidents happen) it was just a little irritating at the time. Being that Edgewood has only one grocery store, shopping at Safeway in Edgewood makes for a trying time indeed. Can management please schedule a check out clerk at every check out stand from at least 2pm -10pm or 12-8 or even 9AM until 9PM? This goes for all grocery stores as well. I bet it's been since 1985 that I've seen a store with every check out stand available to check out at. If twelve check stands were built and engineered into a store design there is a reason for it and should be utilized, especially at peak shopping hours and you're the only game in town.....a town that has outgrown our ONE grocery store. I dread going there as it smells terrible and just feels dirty. We drive across the valley and pay more fore food to avoid the shoulder to shoulder shopping and overall bad experience. For the second time in a few weeks I ordered delivery from this Safeway and they claimed they delivered my food, but did not. When we called to complain they stated that they did not know how that was possible without them confirming ID and they stated that there was no picture taken as proof that it was delivered. I have motion sensors and cameras on my front porch. Maybe you should fire whoever keeps stealing my food. read more

I've lived in Milton since 1989 and have never been treated the way I was at Safeway in Milton 2 days ago. I was in Milton Safeway around midnight. Got what I was in there to get went to check out and a Lady was buying 47 bottles of laundry detergent and returning 20. I get it, she was doing her coupon shopping I. The middle of the night when it's not busy. Sat in line for 20mins. The two people in front of me left their stuff on the belt and walked out. I said forget this after the two people in front of me left. Put money on the belt and started to walk off...checker said something so I turned around to ask what they said...the some 20yr kid popped outta nowhere wearing a beanie and with ear phones in, who never identified himself as an Safeway employee and said "you got a problem". Not, hi I'm the night manager how can I help you. I explained my problem and that it was ridiculous that at midnight we are standing in line for over 20mins, that two people had already walked out and that there was 8 people in line...and told him they needed another's checker. He said he could call the cops and get me kick out out of the store for trespassing...I said trespassing how, he said for having a bad attitude in a private building. There happened to be a cop in the store and I was charged with trespassing for having a bad attitude in a public building. Cops said I can not enter Safeway in Milton for a year? While talking to the police office he was laughing and telling me how sorry he was. I'll be speaking with the store managers Monday (either Dan assistant or Kevin Store Manager) and have already talked to friends and family that work for corporate. To get this resolved. This used to be a great store that really cared about its customers but after Albertsons close across the street they act like their shit doesn't stink since they are the only store in the city.....Sad, upper management should be ashamed for letting it come to this. read more

The store is very busy all the time. customer service is great in the main part of the store. Lately since a the change in Pharmacist the service and quality had gone down hill it is awful. Mess ups! I got someone else's script , and wrong qty. It took 5days to get 2rxs right that's just one example. Moving to another Safeway or compeditor. I now standing waiting for a rx that was to be done 3 days ago I've been here 45min and waiting I'm not the only frustrated customer here! Safeway Online - delivers out of the Milton Store to North Tacoma. Delivery is hit or miss, regardless of what you scheduled. If you are lucky a driver will call to reschedule. If you are lucky you will get your groceries delivered. And when no groceries arrive, with no explanation you will then need to fight for a refund. Just before Halloween I was sick with the flu and running out of groceries - the delivery didn't happen - no calls, no apologies and my card was billed, so no more grocery money. There is only one phone number to contact the "online people" and sometimes they might answer. They do not respond to emails to "deliverysupport". The manager at the Milton store "doesn't deal with online services". It is now Thanksgiving and Safeway still has my freaking grocery money! Stay away from Safeway Online Services. read more

I shop here very often. It's the closest grocery store to my house. I normally have a good experience and everyone is very happy and helpful, but today...today was a different story. It was the FIRST time that anyone has EVER given me flat out attitude. I don't know if the lady in customer service is racist against tan people or if she's always that rude. Maybe she was having a bad day, but I shouldn't have been her target. She got my request wrong and then blamed me for her mistake. I'll definitely be asking for someone else to help me next time I need customer service. "SUE" should NOT be in customer service if she's going to be rude and blame the customer even if she's the one who rings you up incorrectly! I like this Safeway. 1. The location is convenient for me and it's close 2. I have never had to wait in a long line 3. They have good customer service, the workers have always been friendly and helpful/easy to find if I needed assistance. 4. The prices are reasonable and they have a decent organic selection. They do these Just For You coupons. You have to go online for it but it gives you great deals :) Check it out and don't forget to try a sandwich from the deli, my favorite hot sandwich is the ham swiss and cheddar panini :) read more

Nice well stocked store. Seems clean as you walk through. Sometimes it gets a little over the top with displaying of food at the entrances. Other then that, the store is okay. I use their App and get the U-Scan deals to see what the sales flyers show and what additional savings I can get with the customized deals just for me which are better then just your regular club card deals. If you're already buying that item, why not save a little more? When you are trying to save a little $, it pays to take time to look in the app. Sometimes they offer a freebie of something (a yogurt for example) and extra fuel rewards points with a minimum purchase amount or when you buy gift cards, but you won't know unless you check right? You'll have to learn how to navigate within the app, but honestly... it's easy. The wifi in Safeway isn't good like most stores since it's like a cave towards the back. So turn the wifi off and use your mobile connection. I'm pretty sure it will be better. The meat, deli and hot food areas are nicely kept. I've noticed that the hot food prices like the Chinese food deal price has increased. A few years ago, they made a change to their select sandwich options leaving me less fond of the hand made sandwiches, so I don't buy them anymore. The bread choices are horrible now. This is 1 of 2 'go to' stores for me. Like most stores these days, they have a Starbucks inside with a seating area close-by. I'll be back when I need something. read more

I have always preferred Safeway - perhaps since we shopped there in New York as a child. It is convenient Took them down a star since again they wanted me to do their job and load my cart. Also could not find anyone on the floor for help except the contract help who are not help. For a while ever employee use to greet you and offer help - those days appear to have left with the new look. Also - when they opened a new lane - they would always take the next 1 or 2 people in line. Twice now they open one and everyone from the end of our line rushes over - both of these reasons took them form 4 down to 3. Their prices are comparative but I hate their on line system where if you want the coupon specials you have to go on the computer - it seems like every other day - and select the items. This store is poorly maintained. Three weeks ago I purchased some food from the deli and ate at the counter in the same deli. I noticed that the counter was dirty,food on the wall and when I was there 2 days ago the same food stains and filth was STILL THERE. The bathroom was nasty.Very dirty,paper all over, dirty bowl..
