    Rude Karen

So I come here a lot, I buy most of my groceries from this Safeway, always I was waking in to the self check out area with my one item,, I stoped in front of the self checkout cash register to pull up my Safeway card number, because I just changed my number so I wanted to make sure I wasn't going to put in the wrong number, then different customer said "excuse me' because he was trying to get a beverage underneath the cash register I was at, so I said " oh sorry '' and I moved out the way,, then it said ""its okay"" mind you I couldn't have had been there for longer than 30 seconds, then the old prude self check out monitor Lady said very inappropriately to all of the 10 people in the whole store "" SOME PEOPLE JUST DON'T NO HOW GET THERE STUFF AND TO CHECK"" she said it with a rude attitude,, I don't know if she's worked here for 90% of her life but I just think that's disrespectful,, I could completely understand if I was in the middle of the checkout when I wasn't, I could understand if I had a lot of items, but I only had one, I could understand if I was being rude, but I wasn't, I honestly feel like her behavior was inappropriate not needed. Especially because every time I come in here, I've been nice to her.

Grab and go grape and cheese cup, handy, healthy snack, but when you don't wash your own produce it might come with dead moldy spiders.
    Happy Go Lucky D.

Think again on those handy prepared meals! Grape cup may come with spiders. I called the store and they offered to refund/switch out. I said no, I was calling to let you know you should probably pull them off your shelf.

This Safeway's Bakery and staff are awesome! I called last week to see if they made personalized cookie cakes to order and they were extremely helpful! They made us a gorgeous cookie cake that exceeded our expectations, for only $12! They always have unpersonalized, gorgeous and delicious options as well. Highly recommend!

My steaks are brown and I bought them today. That is not good. I guess the special is old meat. Walmart doesnt even sell brown meat.

My Albertson's closed down so I had to find another store, that one closed too, so I had to find another bakery.

He's…read moresomewhat right as it has a similar feel, but the portions aren't giant and the prices on many things are indeed competitive. The big attraction here is the Bulk section that has many options - rice, pasta, beans, grains and more. My frequently visited bulk section is the pet treats area. scored chew bones for the pup here at a great deal and less packaging than if I go someplace else. I like how they target us consumers with literal signs showing the price comparisons to the likes of Safeway, Walmart and my personal favorite Fred Meyer which is my main grocery shop and even some prices at WinCo beat them. At the same time, not EVERYthing at WinCo is a deal, or if it is lower, it is negligible. Sticking with the pet food, a 6 individual cans of Purina One, (my preferred) dog canned food is $1.85 here, down from $1.99 at Freddies, I'm all about saving money and frugality, but I couldn't imagine going out of the way for that. Alcohol here is actually more expensive that Freddies or otherwise here at $12.99 for Georgetown 6 packs, compared to $10.99 at Freddies. These are but a few measures, so I know there are deals to be had, but it pays to be a savvy shopper too. My hang ups here are they don't take Credit card. I'm sure that's to help cut down on their expense and middleman, etc. but that's annoying. Also I don't know if it's me but it just feels even more cramped in here than the already cramped markets, we all frequent. I felt like I was constantly blocking somebody even with my cart pulled all the way to the side. Beyond that WinCo is ok.

The prices are insanely high, they are even higher than PCC for many items. The people that work there are a mix, some are super friendly and nice, but there are a couple weirdos that work there that make me turn around if I walk in and see it's only them working at the registers. Their names are Jimmie and Sam. Sam sells chocolate bars he makes at the store, or the store sells them? Any way, I don't eat chocolate bars or dairy and they are made with milk chocolate. And they are $7. I think it's great to support people, but I won't eat the chocolate bars and the store is already too expensive, so I'm not going to buy it and there is SO MUCH PRESSURE TO BUY THE CHOCOLATE. And Sam has a major attitude because I don't want to buy the stupid chocolate bars. Very passive aggressive. With rising costs everywhere the last thing I want is to be pressured to buy something I don't want at a grocery store when I'm just struggling to survive. And Jimmie is just a major weirdo. There are also a few older ladies that always have an attitude for no apparent. I'm a very friendly and polite person, but I'm also the customer so I shouldn't be the one greeting them and telling them to have a nice day while they basically tell me to f*** off. It's very much a small town vibe and I feel like an outsider the shouldn't be there. I am very grateful for Grocery Outlet opening near by so I mostly go there for last minute items and I avoid Thriftway at all costs because I don't want to be pressured into buying the stupid gross chocolate or deal with weirdos with attitude.

It was actually nice that it was the first and closest thing to me when I walked in the doors. The cold section, where they dish you up the amount of food you want, was a little smaller than most delis but they had all the key, typical food that you would be looking for anyway In fact they had two chicken salads that you don't typically see in deli's and they were both delicious. The cranberry and pecan chicken salad, as well as another one that I now can't remember. Both employees were away from the counter working but we're paying close attention to see if customers approached the counter which is really nice since often times at delis they have a tendency to kind of ignore you until you can somehow get their attention or they decide they're done with their current task So one of the employees came right over. I needed to know if the two salads had any gluten in them and he did not know since he said he doesn't typically work at the counter but he offered to go and find out, which he quickly did and was able to actually print out the ingredients so I could also see for myself and not have any doubts. He was so extremely and genuinely friendly, and happy to help. Such a nice change from most customer service these days. I complimented him on his service and told him I recommend he actually work at the counter because he was so good with customers. The other nice thing was that he was quick and everything that he did rather than just taking his time like many deli people do. Which I appreciated since I was so so so hungry I wish I would have gotten his name so he could get credit for his customer service and attitude and efficiency and effectiveness. He was very tall, white, thin...oh and he had a tattoo under his left eye of two arrows. That should help someone know who he is and hopefully give him kudos. So I was able to quickly use the self check out and be on my way. The deli area was also very clean and organized. So I would absolutely return just for the deli itself

It was a mistake; this particular cashier was not helpful when I asked a question regarding the sale item, and when she was done inputting items, she turned to face a bag girl (who bagged without asking me if I had a bag & argued with me) to make an unpleasant facial expression! It's puzzling what I did to deserve that kind of attitude. If she can't deal with ordinary people, this is not a place for her to work because she is ruining a lot of people's day!!! This experience will take a while to erase from my mind!!!
