When I'm in the area, I usually shop at this location. Unfortunately, after today's experience, it will likely be my last visit. As I pulled into the parking lot, I noticed it was oddly empty and wondered if the store was closed. After parking, I saw a few people leaving, so I headed inside. Before entering, I looked around for a shopping cart but didn't see any except one that was in use by someone else, so, I headed inside. Once inside, I still couldn't find one, so I asked the first associate I came across if there were any available and his response completely caught me off guard - "they're hard to find." We stood there in awkward silence for a few seconds because I assumed he would follow up by offering to help me locate one. Instead, I had to ask, and he reluctantly agreed. I watched him walk over to two other associates, and although I couldn't hear the conversation, he eventually told me that someone would go find a cart. While waiting, I noticed several customers walking around carrying their items by hand, while another customer had managed to find a cart and was checking out. I decided to use the restroom while I waited, and that's when the experience took another turn for the worse. The odor was so overwhelming that I nearly tripped rushing back out. Not only did it smell awful, it was filthy to include the trash can appeared not to have been emptied from the previous day. At nearly 6:00 p.m., the overflowing built in receptacle clearly hadn't gotten the way from just today's trash. When I made my way back to the front of the store, I asked my husband, who was with me, whether anyone had brought out a cart. He said no. I then saw the same associate, two additional employees, and someone who appeared to be a manager, identifiable by his white collared shirt casually talking, but appearing oblivious to the numerous customers walking around with items in their hands and not in carts. At that point, I had enough and decided to leave. Between the filthy, foul smelling restroom and the complete lack of follow through in something as basic as providing a shopping cart, I no longer wanted to shop there. This was especially disappointing because I've never had an experience like this at any other location in this chain. In fact, it's usually my preferred place to shop (which is why I marked maybe instead of no), regardless of where I am, outside of specialty stores. read more

Not a very shopper friendly experience. Lack of carts, i've had to hand carry everything one trip. You have to scan your receipt to unlock a gate to leave the store. The door has been broken for at least three weeks now, is it too much money for you guys to fix that, or is that on purpose? One time there were no paper bags, and the manager seemed like she didn't want to give me one when I asked. I was ringing up my produce manually and the manager condescendingly says i can scan the barcode... Umm? Not all the lemons have the sticker on them, they do fall off you know... Sale items don't ring up, employees don't want to help with that either. At least the produce is decent. read more

Wish that I knew what has happened to this store. It seems very depressed. The shortage of carts is outrageous. Recommend checking expiration dates, especially on cold items. The one checker seems like a newbie or pulled from another area. Mistakes being made in pricing. twice now. Moldy bread on a recent trip. That has never happened. And, where is the cool music? i arrived at the store at approximately 11 and there were no carts that were easy for an 83 year old to push. Iwas told that people take the carts, and leave them in places that others needed to find. their reaction seemed to be that if patrons couldn"t take care of the carts, there wouldnt be any for others to use. If I could give this place zero stars I would. I came to shop today 4/15 at 6:00pm and they have NO shopping carts. Mind you the lady that work at the front desk said they are being used for throw backs, three of them, and the entire store is out of shopping carts. Unbelievable!! This place is ridiculous! And they wonder why people go to Giant and other places to spend their money. This place has gone down hill. I will be looking up the Store Manger's name and CEO and report this. read more

On 06/05/2025 at approx 4:30 pm, I was shopping in this store and was walking in the back isle by the pharmacy when a man drove his shopping cart into my leg. I protested and the man began to yell at me to "shut the f up " stating that he would assault me by slapping me and beating me up. He told me that I should have moved to the other side ,not in his way. He was told calmly by me that he was not going to slap me or make me be quiet. The man repeated this two more times . I looked at him like he was crazy. He told me that he didnt care if I was "old" ( I am a senior) . The pharmacy staff did nothing, the man stood there and then must have calmed down and thought about his actions and walked away pushing his cart. It seemed apparent that this man may have been one of Safeway's anti-theft team, that goes to various Safeway to apprehend shoplifters. I contacted Safeway corporate office twice and was told that I would be contacted by management. The customer service person stated that they have video surveillance footage, and they would review the footage and contact me. No one called or email. If you are a senior , I suggest that you dont shop at this store. I will no longer patronize this store. It is my opinion that Safeway knew the unidentified man, and can not verify that they employ him . DO NOT SHOP HERE. read more

Stopped in on a Tuesday afternoon to get some essentials I needed for the week. It's a average grocery store. Most of the time it's pretty well stocked. Could use a little more attention as far as keeping the store clean and organized. There is a Starbucks located inside of this location. I recommend checking all of the expiration dates on your groceries before you check out. When I looked through the yogurt before I put them in my cart I noticed some where set to expire within a few days. Prices are in the higher end. Normally I would bring my coupons but since this was a spur of the moment trip for only a few items I didn't feel the need. I noticed some decent sales. Not my main go to grocery store but it's good to stop in here once and a while. read more

If I could give less then 1 star I most certainly would. At this Safeway they have an issue with customers being able to checkout quickly and efficiently. Today is Saturday just before noon. Why were 4 self checkouts open and 3 required assistance with no one in sight to help. There was only 1 checkout with a cashier. An additional lane did eventually open up which I quickly transitioned to. I Am not sure if they're having problems hiring people, people are calling out or what's going on. What i do know is it's very frustrating for the customer. Safeway you have got to do better!SN: The staff they do have are generally friendly and have good customer service. read more

As I often do, I purchased cheap chicken Monday for 6.99. I've been purchasing this deal since it was 4.99. You get 8 pieces of chicken. However today I only received 6 pieces. It wouldn't be a big deal if I don't have extra dinner guest tonight. I have tried calling the store and was on hold for 14 plus minutes and still never talked to no one. So I know we should only be coming out to the grocery stores for "essentials" but I'm sure the mayor would agree that ice cream is an essential food . There was no line outside to get in like a few other grocery stores I passed before landing here, but the social distancing signage was all over the place and everyone appeared to be following the rules. I had no problem getting in, securing the dessert and getting out in no time, the longest time was me trying go figure out what flavor ice cream I was in the mood for. The selection was surprisingly plentiful...they knew my heart! So although they weren't my intended destination, stopping in worked out way better than I expected. I can't complain about this location. I was about to go to Wegmans down the street but thought that I would check this place out. I was pleasantly surprised. Ok, so it doesn't have the variety of products that wegmans has, it has the basics plus. I was surprised with amount of organic produce that this place carried, it was more than my 'higher end' grocery store that I normally go to. Everything was well stocked and they did have a decent gluten free section and even some items that other stores are frequently out of. Organic coconut milk, gluten free noodles, organic avocados.....I was more than happy to be here. Maybe the employees weren't the friendliest but they were ok. The parking lot is huge and if you go at off hours its not too busy. This place is A-ok in my book. read more

They need to add more people on cash registers and maybe also in the bakery. Above those two things I have no issues. Floors clean, staff friendly, good stock at all times. And everyone seems to like each other very important, cause if that wasn't the case then things would look jacked up. No one would smile and flow of customers wouldn't be an issue. I go to this Safeway because it's close to where I live. It's just okay, in my opinion. I'm a club card member, but a lot of the items that I purchase aren't even a part of the club pricing. I guess it's that way in other markets as well, because I'm mostly purchase produce from there. The self- checkout is very glitchy. It always beeps and goes off and it takes more time to get through self-checkout than it does if you were to just go to a human cashier. read more

Safeway, what can I say? Ugh. It has what Target doesn't have or carry. It's up the road from me and I can't complain. Oh, wait ....it has a Starbucks!!!! I'll add a star just for that. The distinct odor is not only at the AMills location. It is not pleasant, so I just keep walking and get to what I went there for. We only go here for yogurt and some produce that I would need at a last minute. Produce is fresh and well stocked. Long lines at time, staff is just around. I've never been there long enough to really need to ask or interact with cashiers. I have to say that the guard is very polite, friendly and helpful. The girls at Starbucks are nice and my drinks are always good. It gets the job done. In and out!! read more

Clean and friendly market. However, after searching for seedless grapes and not finding then, I asked a young lady that works in the produce section for help. She explained "we no longer carry them and we can not order them anymore". I don't know about you but my fruits and vegetables should have seeds. Called the deli ahead of time to make sure they were open, I was told yes they were open until midnight. Drove 30 minutes to this location only to be refused by the deli to make my sandwich because they're "sandwich person isn't here today". As if it's rocket science. I've been coming here a long time, as I work in another shop in the plaza. The only time anyone has been kind or even seemed like they noticed me in any way is at the Starbucks counter. One time I was quite literally standing next to an employee putting some items on a shelf, asked her where to find something in the store, and she didn't even look at me, let alone answer me. Nothing. A few days ago I bought 2 items with my co-worker. One wasn't scanning at the self check out (which is where basically everyone has to go to check out. I've NEVER seen more than 2 registers open, and more times than not its 0). Anyway, the light was blinking and the lady helping over there just stared at me, making eye contact. So I just stood there wondering when she'd take 4 steps away and finally come help me. She scanned her card and walked away finally. My item still didn't scan, and the same thing happened again. She just stared at my co-worker and I now, and my co worker had to walk up to her and say I still needed help. The employee didn't even acknowledge my co worker and continued to just stand there! She finally made it over to me, took my item and made it $1 (which wasn't the price) and she literally THREW it in a grocery bag and walked away. I also thanked her both times for helping me, even though she THREW my fragile snack in a bag, and of course she didn't acknowledge me at all. I almost asked for her name, but I know nothing would be done anyway when you're running a store where employees are allowed to act like that. This place has a decent selection of food but the employees are GARBAGE. I received food poisoning from their bakery's pre-made cake slices. Turns out the slice I picked was out of date but for some reason it was still on the shelf. And the service is not great either. I highly recommend you check the dates on anything you buy here because they do not check their shelves often. read more

Although I love the location( 5 min from my house) and the selection of fresh flowers I tend to avoid this location. Terrible produce selection. All food and drink are overpriced too. Always a long line to checkout. I prefer shopping at Sans club, Aldi and Giant. Better values and fresher food. read more

This is the WORST store in the history of stores. It looks nice inside, but it stops there. They are ALWAYS under staffed. Long lines. Rude employees. Their pharmacy is always out of prescriptions and takes days to order. Their baker takes valuable days off...no baker on Fridays. Really? No custom birthday cakes to kick off the weekend? Once I waited in line for customer service to buy Power Play. The customer service representative took off to "go look for something" for the person ahead of me and was gone for 45 min! There was a huge line of us. Even the person she was helping was annoyed. I can't say enough about how BAD this store is. I will drive 30min to Hunt Valley Wegmans before going to this store. I would have given ZERO stars. Prior to Wegman's opening nearby, I shopped here often. I still occasionally return, and when I do, I am continuously amazed by how bad the service is. In particular, the managers there have been especially rude and hostile. If you complain about anything, they'll argue with you and make you feel like you have no right to suggest improvements. Also, I think that every time I have been there, there has been an error on price (in their favor). It's just par for the course (so be careful and check your receipts). Frankly, I'm surprised they're still in business. I have complained on their website at the corporate level, but no one has ever bothered contacting me. Pathetic. read more

My 3 concerns are.. sometimes items are marked on sale but don't always scan sale price. So I'm forced to return to store after checking my receipt. Also already twice now, I've seen them wash the donut containers...they spray product directly on the containers, while donuts are still in there...I'm sure some of that clean product goes on the donuts cause there are openings. Long lines of course too. Other than that the store is ok. It's clean and they keep their produce fresh. This store is a joke first they removed all hand baskets which apparently were all stolen. Then they have only the express line or self check open and there is always at least one not working out of the four. Today there were three then only two started working. I told the cashier and security guy that when the wegmans opens next year they will be out of business and he agreed with me. read more

Today I had the opportunity to not shop in peace at the above store location where I felt as though I was being profiled not once but twice. Once where I was pushing my cart with a few items near the produce department and a 1090 (African American) male associate asked me did I need a cart. I was puzzled being as though I did not have anything in my hands but he also saw me pushing my cart. The second time was at checkout where a 1091 (Caucasian) male that I see often first stated "That's a lot of paper towels why do you need so many?". Then I had five detox bottles that I decided to scan one bottle five times and skipped bagging (because the screen will not continue if you do not place items in the bagging area - which is already a headache) and the machine prompted for assistance. I then stared at the associate staring at me as if I do not need any help and as he clears the screen I place the remaining four bottles into the shopping bag. He then stated in a loud tone "OH NO YOU HAVE TO SCAN SOMETHING FIRST BEFORE PUTTING THEM IN THE BAG" insinuating that I was under ringing my items which if he was paying attention to the screen he would have seen all five items accounted for. I felt offended because I shop at this store often. However, I did take the time out to speak with the manager on duty Dwayne who stated that he will have a talk with the associates. This situation made me feel very uncomfortable and I will not step foot into that store again. read more

I'm originally from Columbus, Oh but moved to the area recently. This was the most convenient grocery store I could find. It has some decent prices but I couldnt find a lot of things that were "normal" to find in grocery stores. I ended up having to go to another store. Also, the workers have been so-so. I came in one night around 10pm, 2 men were working and signed me up for the "club" - they were friendly. During the day, it was busy and cashiers were not as nice. Overall, it's OK. read more
