I realize that my essential tremors are difficult to understand me whenever I am stressed. It isn't easy. People need to be patient with me when calling with bad news. This morning I was advised they are working on my meds so it really didn't make any difference. I am grateful they let me know my insurance plan had been cancelled. I didn't know and was able to get into another plan starting Feb. Seniors on Medicare need to enroll every year during enrollment period. We arrived early 10:45 am, trying to be responsible and prepared, only to be told by staff that we were "too late" and needed to reschedule. Reporting we were to be there 10:30 a.m. for an 11:00 a.m. appointment. This response was frustrating, to never be told to come in 30 minutes early for the appointment is unacceptable. This experience made it feel as though our loved one's pain doesn't truly matter at this facility. The staff's being dismissive was disheartening, especially considering how long we had waited for this appointment and how much pain my loved one continues to endure. Patients shouldn't feel turned away or inconvenienced due to staff's mistakes. Now my whole family has to pay for this mistake while our love one waits in pain to be rescheduled for that next appointment. This experience was very upsetting and, in my opinion, unacceptable.

To maintain dental health, it is very important to have regular dental exams every 6 months. This helps to identify any dental issues early on, and hopefully avoid the need for extractions, crowns, etc. I had been a client of Pueblo Del Sol Dental for many years (about 12+ years) and the care and customer service was EXCELLENT. But it seems that something changed somewhere along the line. I had a permanent bridge installed by Dr. Trujillo and was told at the time that it was essential to maintain my dental hygiene or the bridge would fail and I would need a new bridge installed, which is a very painful and expensive procedure. At the 6 month point for my bi-yearly dental exam, I called to schedule my usual exam, and was told that it would be more than 6 months to be able to see any hygienist or dentist. I explained that I had a bridge installed by Dr. Trujillo, and it was my understanding that if I did not keep up with my regular exams, it was likely that the bridge would fail. The scheduler/receptionist did tell me to keep trying to call and they would see if they could get me in sooner as I was a long-standing patient. I did finally get an appointment a month later, and saw a hygienist who was EXCELLENT. (I wish I could remember her name!) She carefully showed me the optimal oral hygiene sequence for my bridge and actually let me try it while she watched and clarified anything that I had missed. She was wonderful! But when it was time for my next 6-month apointment, I called to schedule my next 6-month appointment with the hygienist, so that there wouldn't be any lag timem abd was told that the earliest appointment with any hygienist would be in 12 months (a full year away) Sadly, after being a long-standing patient for more than 12 years, I had to quickly find another dentist or risk jeopardizing my bridge. I was able to find another dentist's office that was able to schedule me with one of the dentists without a long delay, and then with a hygienist shortly after. I am very sad that Pueblo Del Sol no longer provides the care that they once did. I had been going there so long it almost felt like "family" I don't know what happened, but I truly hope that they can somehow regain their integrity and care for patients. The reason for the 4 star review is that for many, many years this office was excellent and caring. I don't know what changed and I hope that somehow the excellence and care that this office had demonstrated years ago will return. This review is partly regarding the many years in the past when this office showed care for their clients, and partly regarding the experience I had with the scheduler almost a year ago. I hope that things have turned around at this date, and that patients are treated with more care and concern at this time. And I am thankful that I was able to find another dentist's office that provides excellent care in a timely manner. Otherwise I may have compromised my bridge and have had to have another one, at a cost of around $6,000.

Just say you are not accepting new patients at this time! Called another well known dentist and was scheduled within the week. Not a patient, so I cannot comment on the care, but the front of house definitely needs some adjustments.
