That's why my recent experience at this Walgreens stood out, but also why I feel this review needs to be balanced. We actually transferred our prescriptions here from Safeway a couple of months ago, hoping that a larger pharmacy would be more reliable when it comes to keeping medications in stock. At Safeway, we often found ourselves scrambling to locate another pharmacy because they simply didn't have our medications in stock. Unfortunately, even though we've only been at Walgreens a short time, it has still been a stressful experience. It's very difficult to get through by phone, and there have been multiple times where I've been on hold for 20 minutes only to have the call disconnected. Prescriptions are not always ready when expected, which adds to the stress. We've had moments where we're close to running out of a medication and it's still "in progress," leaving us rushing to the store at the last minute. There also seems to be some kind of disconnect between their fulfillment system and the pharmacy itself. To be fair, this doesn't seem unique to this location. Many pharmacies these days appear to be short staffed and dealing with medication shortages, and it's clear the people working there are doing their best under difficult circumstances. I truly don't believe these issues are the fault of the staff, but rather a reflection of how these companies are being run. That said, the reason I'm giving three stars instead of a lower rating is because of Grant, the pharmacist. He truly went above and beyond to help us with several prescriptions. He was not only knowledgeable, but also incredibly kind and genuinely sympathetic. Instead of rushing through things, he took the time to really understand what we needed and jumped right in to help. It was such a refreshing experience and made a stressful situation so much easier. Grant is absolutely the shining light at this location and honestly the reason we're willing to stick around and hope things improve. His level of care and willingness to help is something you don't come across every day, and we're very grateful for him.

Most of the other aisles looked understocked as well, giving the store an overall sparse vibe. Only one employee was visible, working the cashier, and they didn't seem very enthused. But I get that, sometimes it's just one of those days. They still offered the usual services like photo printing and a pharmacy, so basic needs were covered. My vet prescribed two different pain meds for my cockatiel. This company was very fast in asking…read morefor payment but very slow (4 days from payment to receiving meds) at delivering the meds despite only being about 25 minutes drive away. I let it go since I was a new customer and they didn't have my credit card on file. As a second-time customer, this time waiting for two very crucial uric acid lowering meds, the shipping time left much to be desired again. They called on Wednesday while I was out of town, asking for payment. I authorized payment. They told me I'd receive the meds the next day - Thursday. I did not receive the meds until Saturday evening. That means my bird missed 5 doses of those crucial meds (2 doses on Thursday and Friday each, and 1 dose on Saturday morning). What's more aggravating is one of those meds requires refrigeration. It was packed with a small ice pack but because the shipping took so long, the ice pack was no longer cold, and the medication was room temperature. I called to ask about the efficacy of the medication and was told it was ok. Would they be honest with me if it was not? I doubt it. And who knows? Because between missing 5 doses and questionable efficacy, my bird passed 5 days after I administered the meds. I would never use them again and I'll request my vet use another company in the future. From my experience, this company is more interested in collecting payment first, and then taking their sweet time sending the meds. This would be fine if they were not in the business of helping to save animals' lives. I was out of town or I'd have driven to get those meds. Also, they close early and aren't open on weekends. I also gave them feedback that the volume of liquid meds is so small, their container so tall/large, and the syringes so short - shorter than the container, which makes extracting the meds into the syringe a challenge. Have these people even tried using their own packaging??

The scale of this pharmacy is the same as any other inside a grocery store, small but also tidy and neat off to one side. At this location, there is a large bin to deposit unwanted medications. There's also an automatic blood pressure measurement device. They do flu shots too. I typically find they are not too busy with short wait, so that's a plus. Parking is easy, underneath the store.

My experience at this store was always mostly just average... until my last few visits. I see they now have new management and quite a few new hires and it is already so much better! The newer young blonde Ms. in the photo department is always super nice and eager to help me, even when there is a line & its obvious she has multiple orders to fill she is never overwhelmed or rushes our interaction as I've experienced in the photo department before...she takes her time to help me with a smile on her face and a nice attitude. Im glad they have new management its obvious they're making some changes for the better. Now the pharmacy..... well that is another story. I stopped using them a long time ago because they were just so unreliable... but with all these new hires & other changes I've noticed I hope to see the management make the pharmacy better to and I will definitely consider using their pharmacy again!

However, I usually don't need to wait for a long time when I come here around 2-3pm when it's slow. There's a Starbucks next to it, so you can grab coffee/pastry while you wait for your med if it takes forever. I think the longest wait that I've had there was like 15 minutes, but it was killing me already... I have finally found my forever pharmacy!…read more I had been a customer of Bartell's for many, many years, and was bummed when Rite Aid bought them and more-or-less put them out of business. It took a long while to find a replacement pharmacy, especially one that would honor my insurance. (The latter bit ended up being surprisingly difficult!). Anyway, no problems transferring my prescription to their shop. Their staff walked me through the process and were very helpful. They honored my insurance, so my regular prescription cost me nothing (as it had at Bartell's). Staff was helpful on the phone and in person. I think a lot of people are transferring prescriptions to Katterman's since the pharmacy staff seemed slammed when I went in. But no problems, they took the time to help me. Only confusing bit: you pick up the prescription at a counter at the back of the store, where the pharmacists work. You then take it up to the front counter to "pay" for it, even if you have no co-pay. I think I understand the process now, but the two-step process seemed a little odd (since, again, I owed nothing). But everyone was helpful, so no worries! My new pharmacy! What a relief to have one, and for it to be a nice little local shop.
