Just came from the lunch Buffet at Saffire and it was great. My Wife's first Indian Restaurant and I am so glad we went here. The servers were personable and took time to explain and answer questions. The food was perfectly spiced. Wish I could have had the room for a second plate. The decor is pleasing and not overdone. I can't say enough great things about this place. The food was outstanding, service was fantastic, clean and perfect for large groups or events as well. It wasn't loud so we could actually enjoy our conversations and they didn't rush us when we sat for 3 hours just enjoying our time together! They were so lovely and now a favorite spot. The chicken tikka masala had just a few pieces of chicken, not even enough to share, but the sauce was delicious. Shrimp Kadai were tiny over-cooked frozen shrimp and the sauce was just ok. For $28.00, they could have splurged and used decent-sized shrimp. The "vegetarian" biriyani only had a few peas and a lot of bell peppers, but no cauliflower, broccoli, carrots or potatoes. The "onion" kulcha bread had no onions at all, only dry scallions and was tasteless. The truffle rosemary naan bread was completely dry, so we had to add melted butter to it, just to be able to eat it. Does your kitchen have ghee? The lemon zest cilantro rice was also very dry and tasteless! Never going here again - Time to go back to Curry Club. read more

We have been here twice and each time everything was delicious. Appetizers that we have ordered include Samosa Trio and Paani Puri. Main courses were Lamb Biryani, Chicken Korma, Duck Breast and Seekh Kebab. The drinks are very good too. I ordered a Tito's with mango purée in club soda. It was both delicious and refreshing. My husband loves spicy food in the owner was kind enough to give him one of his hot peppers to try. There is no doubt that once my hubby makes his hot sauce, he will bring some for them to sample. We live close by and there is no doubt that we'll be a regular customer. read more

Tried this new South Asian spot on a whim, and it was wonderful! The food was exceptional -- we loved the cauliflower appetizer, samosas, tikka masala, and garlic naan. The service was also excellent. Nikki took great care of us and made us feel so welcome from the moment we stepped through the doors. We tried this on Christmas eve. The food is delicious!! Our server, Nikki, was so knowledgeable about the menu and guided us through. The decor is gorgeous as they kept the original beautiful marble floor of when it was the steakhouse/seafood location. As far as ambiance, I think the restaurant would benefit from some walls separating parts of the dining area as, while it was nice, seemed sort of cafeteria-like and wide open. I imagine if it gets really crowded, it may be difficult to hear because of that reason. But, the food was amazing. The Tikka Masala was traditional with hints of the butter chicken. Delicious. I had the chicken vindaloo and it was good but the chicken TM won out. Also, the rice with lentils and coconut was delicious. I don't like coconut but you can't even taste it! So that was good for me. Apps: samosa trio was good; tandoori chicken skewer was only one skewer with 1 bite portions - they should make that two; a shrimp app my husband enjoyed. We came to Saffire to celebrate my Mother's birthday on a Wednesday evening. The bar was busy, but the dining room only had one other table occupy when we were seated. The hostess and our server were very nice and friendly, but unfortunately the good part stopped there. Overall the service is EXTREMELY slow. The drinks took about 15-20 minutes to arrive, the appetizers about another half hour and the mains about the same after the apps. The desserts took even longer. A couple who was seated right after us waited an hour and 10 minutes to get any food at all (they were livid!). The food was beyond mediocre. It lacked any of that strong spiced flavour Indian dishes should have. I want to bring the owner's attention (if you will be reading this at all) to the Shrimp Chatpatta appetizer - what chef ever put it together and thought it was a finished dish that desereves to be a menu item??!! It is 5 pieces of small dry shrimp with an absolutely tasteless dry sauce that looked like brown toothpaste on top of the shrimp. We also ordered Papri Chaat which usually my favourite Indian appetizer, but here it was terrible - again, no flavour. Plain yogurt, crackers and flavourless chickpeas, no seasoning at all. The Amritsari Fish was really good, but it is just fried fish pieces, so hard to mess that up. My goat in Saffire Fire Sauce was mostly bones and it was not as spicy as the waitress was warning me it will be. The best dish was Goat Tikka Masala. The Vindaloo goat was mostly potato, barely any meat and , once again, lacked flavour. The desserts were absoltuly atrocious. The carrot pudding was just little chunks of carrots mixed with a little bit of chopped nuts and maybe a little sugar, that is it. I have had this dessert at other places and it is not what it is supposed to be! The rice pudding was horrid - boiled rice in some milk with a tiny bit of sugar. Both tasted more like baby breakfast food, not desserts. Overall, like others have mentioned, I don't think the place will last more than 6 months with this quility of food. read more

This is the best Indian restaurant in this area. The chili cheese & Garlic Naan's were excellent! All the curry dishes were amazing & you can tailor spice levels. The spicy rice & the coconut lentil rice were delicious. Make sure you try their Mango Lassi! Glad this place opened so we don't need to go to Hicksville for good Indian food. read more

Great lunch buffet with a wide variety of food--lamb curry, butter chicken, saag paneer, naan, rice, and some other dishes. It's served fresh to your table. It's all you can eat but I can't imagine needing more than one round since there's so much food. The ambiance is very classy but relaxed. Great service, food, and atmosphere. read more

We ordered the samosa trio and papi puri along with chicken korma and their titular Saffire Fire curry.
