    Mango Lassi

My husband wants to try out this Indian restaurant for our belated Valentine's dinner. I didn't realize it was a chain until I started searching online for food pics. We parked in the parking lot a block behind the restaurant. 6pm-8pm were free parking. And with little walk to the restaurant during this winter cold weather. First impression when I arrived, this looks like a mom & pop shop. It seems quite small. So i would suggest maybe making a reservation ahead of time would be ideal. Service was excellent! Food was pretty good. Both my husband and I enjoyed our meal. Although both of us agreed that another Indian restaurant around our house tastes better, but this place ain't too bad. We ordered 2 mango lassi once we arrived. Before my husband placed the food order, he already pretty much kill that drink off. It was just good!! Definitely worth a try. Note: For $30+ if you pay with cash, there is 10% off your subtotal.

The food and staff are amazing at the Ambler Saffron location. you can't go wrong with anything that's on the menu, especially the chicken and lamb dishes. I have never had a bad meal. The good has so much flavor to it and is filling. The staff is amazing and is always attentive! I have been coming here for years and will continue to do so!!! Highly recommend!!!

Boti Kabob Masala w added veggies

Saffron is definitely an unexpected gem right on Butler Ave in downtown Ambler. I'm glad that we decided to go in person instead of ordering delivery. We ate right on the street and their presentation was fantastic. We started with two veggie samosas that were really good (so good, in fact, that I forgot to take Yelp pictures of them). I got the Boti Kabob Masala and added veggies. My girlfriend got Chicken Tikka Masala and a Mango Lassi. We split Aloo Naan and got basmati and raita to share with our main dishes. For ~$80 this was more than enough food. My favorite part of the meal was that the dishes were served family style in their own bowls and you could mix your dish however you wanted. Everything seemed very fresh and was delicious. PRO TIP: Sometimes "medium spicy" can be too spicy at an Indian place but the waiter here offered "in between mild and medium spicy" which was just perfect. Definitely try this place. It's different than the American/Italian places nearby.

Masala Zone - Horsham, PA Rating: 2.75 out of 5…read more After seeing all the positive reviews, my family and I came to Masala Zone with pretty high expectations -- and we arrived hungry, which usually makes any meal taste better. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case here. We ordered the chicken corn soup, shrimp and chicken fried rice, chicken Seekh kebabs, and the chilli garlic chicken. Across the board, the food just wasn't well balanced. Everything leaned heavily on being way too salty, way too peppery, and way too greasy, which took away from what could've been a flavorful meal. The dishes didn't have the harmony you'd expect, especially given the hype. While the service and atmosphere were fine, the food itself missed the mark. For us, it's a one-time visit, and we don't see ourselves returning. There are simply better options in the area that deliver on both taste and quality.

When we came home portions considerably smaller, and prices higher than website. What i got as an entree is the same as what was the app size. Naan bread seriously undercooked. Food tasted good, but this for $40? Pass. I'll stick with Nirvana or Namaste

We usually come here once a quarter and for good reason. The food here is flavorful and it's pretty reasonably priced. They specialize in a variety of South Indian cuisine, but my favorite has always been the Kurinji special mutton perattal biryani. It's a pretty big dish with rice and plenty of meat. It also has several sides of sauces and spices to mix in. It's a definite must-have if you like lamb. The other favorite of mine is the Vijayawada chicken biryani. It's a huge serving of chicken, rice, onions, and other great ingredients that are sure to get your taste buds satisfied. My coworkers often order the chicken tikka masala or the butter chicken, both of which are better than most Indian places I've been to. An unexpected surprise were the vegetarian samosas, which are large Indian dumplings that are mostly appetizers, but are quite addicting once you've tried it. Kurinji is good for any occasion, but be advised that they are closed on Mondays. Among all the places my coworkers like to visit for lunch, this restaurant remains as our favorite spot. One of these days I'll go down the entire menu to explore everything else they have, as there are just so many options to choose from. We'll definitely be coming here whenever we get a chance and highly encourage any newcomers to check this place out. You definitely won't be disappointed. If you have a large party, it's advised that you call ahead, as I don't think they've been able to seat more than 8 people at a time on a single row of tables.Re

This…read moreis a major issue in the country, where little attention is given to those who follow religious traditions requiring only Halal food. It's unfair to deceive people for profit in such a dishonest way, especially when Muslims take these rules seriously. As a result, businesses lose customers since many choose to buy from Halal stores and cook at home. When I called, they falsely claimed the food was Halal, so I decided not to eat there. On top of that, prices for almost everything have skyrocketed, making them unaffordable for most people. Inflation in America is extremely high, while funds continue to flow to Ukraine for war efforts. What cost of all food items in all Indian restaurants is horrible to bear. Added to that tips it comes to almost 100 dollars for a family to eat at such costly places. Another fraud restaurant is Namaste in Warminster, very high prices and lie that everything is Halal, a very big liar who keeps saying false name like Bharat. A very fraud owner, except for his wife who almost run this business. So, I totally stopped to going to any restaurant.

I hadn't yet found a truly good Indian restaurant in Philly, until last night. Amma's came close, but fell short due to a goat dish I had with no goat! We happened upon Lilly's by looking for 'good restaurants in the Jenkintown area' on Yelp. Ironically, we'd walked by it dozens of times without noticing it, as there are other stores and restaurants in the area. It had several good reviews and since my partner had NEVER had Indian food before (I know it's hard to believe), I felt this was a must try! We walked in and immediately noticed how nice the interior looked - beautiful murals on the walls, a quiet, a relaxed atmosphere and everything looked clean and new. I knew exactly what we were going to order - the same two dishes I've been having for decades in New York, DC and other Indian restaurants I'd been to....Chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb Rogan Josh. Of course, we added an order of Naan. I initially judge these dishes based on the quality of the meat - in this case - chicken and lamb. I started with the Tikka Masala - as soon as I tasted a bite of the chicken, I knew we'd come to the right place! It was a delicious piece of lean, tender, white meat that had the most luscious, creamy, tomato based sauce - not too spicy ( we requested a very low 'heat'/spice level. My partner had never tasted a curry sauce before and was very impressed - she loved the dish! Next up, the Lamb Rogan Josh! I was pleasantly surprised to see large, lean, tender chunks of lamb in the pot that was served. The sauce was a little spicier than the Tikka Masala, but had an excellent flavor! It complimented the chicken dish perfectly. Both the lamb and the chicken were high quality meats that enabled these dishes to shine! Not to forget the delicious Naan - I took several scoops of both chicken and lamb and put them between a folded piece of Naan! Lilly's is a gem in Jenkintown - I'm glad we found this great Indian restaurant!
