This was a fantastic meal. After being recommended this restaurant from a trusted friend, my finally agreed to give Indian food a chance. Our server was very friendly, and excited to find out it was my wife's first experience with Indian/Nepalese food. The Naan was perfect. The Murg Rara was very well seasoned and balanced, but could have used a little more heat for my taste. The pan fried chicken Momo's were fantastic and I throughly enjoyed the chutney they were served with. We did order a side of Raita as a milder sauce. The tika was excellent and the portion was large. Enough that we took over half of it home. The dining room was clean, modern, and inviting. I'm a bit picky about my momos just because nothing compares to my favorite spot, but this is the only place that's come close. I really enjoyed the vegetable momos I got here--the flavor and crunch from the onions was so pleasant, and there was a hint of bitterness in the flavoring which I surprisingly didn't mind. It was flavorful and so delicious and it was amazing with the sauces on the side. I also ordered the himalayan vegetarian thali set, but since this was my first time trying a thali set I'm not sure how it compares in general. It was a nice experience but I only really loved the curry with mushrooms. However, I had this later as leftovers and it surprisingly tasted even better that way. We also tried the paneer tika masala and I'm so glad we got that. It was delicious, full of flavor, and went really well with the garlic naan. Soooo... I fell hard & fast for this spot Cute restaurant, super helpful staff & amazing food! Never been here before, came in on a whim. I love Indian/Nepali food, but I was expecting to sit at the bar, have a glass (or 2) of wine & leave. I ordered the Chatpate extra spicy, but I forgot to mention that I have a peanut allergy. This place has really great food and a very calm environment, but recently I notice they reduced their portion sizes, and the worker Allie was gaslighting me saying they never reduced their portion sizes. Great food here. The chef was able to make chicken jalfrezi (not on menu) for me and it turned out superb. Their butter chicken is also great. Their naan bread is fantastic and we kept finding ourselves ordering more throughout the meal. The service has been hit or miss depending on staffing. This last time there were only two servers and took a while to get refills and entered came out at different times. The restaurant itself has a lot of paintings and pictures of India that add to the experience. Dim lighting and solid place for Indian food dinner. read more

Good muted atmosphere. Excellent flavors and core items. Momo dumplings had full filling flavor with a good sauce. Spring rolls well loaded with variety of veggies, just crisped roll and a good fruity dip sauce. Shrimp soup was quite good. All ordered midrange heat, nearer mid Chinese heat than expected a bit higher for Nepali, but did just right balance for flavor, not all capsicum red pepper type, flavorful. Takes a bit of time to cook all items, but this visit I fast tracked, will need to go spend an hour for a good meal progression. I shall return, and you should try this unassuming place nestled among a strip of narrow other restaurants in this strip center on cooper near green oaks. Seemed plenty of parking at 5:30-6 pm for the many places around. read more

The service here was great, and there was no weight. Their garlic naan was a nice size and had a slightly sweet glaze on it. I had the korma chicken and got spice level 3. The next time, I'll get spice level 4. They gave complimentary soup too which was really sweet of them. I think overall the food was a bit too salty for me, but everything was decent and flavored really well. read more

Saffron was awesome!!!! The service is amazing. All the employees are courteous and friendly. They make you feel right at home. The atmosphere is family friendly and very comfortable.. This is a new-ish place that we happen to stumble upon, and we are so glad we did. Food was excellent, (the naan bigger than your forearm!), ambiance was nice, and service was impeccable. The owner Shilu also came to check on us and tell us a bit about the traditions and the traditional foods from Nepal. Space and decor was well thought out, but the food was the stunner. I decided to stop in and try a couple of items during happy hour. I started with the pakora, which was solid flavorful and nicely seasoned. Next, I tried the tandoori wings, and unfortunately, they missed the mark. The wings were cold and didn't appear to be cooked through, making them a bit chewy and unappealing. That said, the place has potential. The atmosphere was really nice, and the flavors in the pakora showed promise. I'll give it another try in the future and sample some other dishes. Very casual dinner experience on a weekday night! They remodeled the place from the old smash burger and they did a fantastic job! The apps, naan, and entrees were very large so consider sharing while selecting your plates for the night! For those of you who love spicy foods make sure you tell them to max it out their spice levels are kind of underwhelming. Remember it's a natural spicy taste not like a trying to kill you spicy flavor. We got the buffalo dumpling platter which was delicious most definitely easy and worth to share with the table. Then we tried three different curries! We got the Saffron chicken curry (my favorite), Korma Lamb Curry, and the Saag Lamb Curry. The Saffron chicken curry came out really fancy! Chicken rolled in an egg then covered in the curry it had a nice creamy texture and taste to it. The Korma Lamb was more on the creamier curries as well! The Saag lamb curry had a lot of spicies in it and it created a different type of texture to it than the other two. All three tasted delicious so I highly recommend bringing a group of friends and sharing entrees with everyone! Most definitely try all the different naans they have! Their mango lassi was a very refreshing drink that I would Highly recommend! Service was quick and they were very nice! We had so many questions I felt kind of bad asking so many questions about their about their menu. It was our first time trying Nepali food so we were really curious! love Indian food & wanted to try out a new place so i stumbled upon this gem. The place is neat, it has a very modern look to it, nice ambience. The waitress that attended us was super super attentive and sweet! Honestly would return just for the service alone! They also provide a complimentary soup & salad. I've been here a couple of times now, and every visit has been fantastic. The lamb chops are absolutely outstanding--perfectly seasoned and tender--and the tikka masala is rich, creamy, and easily one of the best I've had anywhere. On another visit I tried the vegetable curry, which was also delicious, with fresh vegetables and just the right amount of spice. The vegetable samosas were also very tasty and fresh, with a perfectly crisp shell and flavorful filling. The garlic naan is homemade and absolutely impeccable--hands down the best naan I've ever had. Soft, warm, and full of flavor, it's the perfect companion to every dish. The staff is always so friendly and welcoming, the mocktails are refreshing and creative, and the restaurant has such a nice ambience--comfortable, inviting, and perfect whether you're dining out casually or for a special occasion. Honestly, this spot is far better than the Indian place over on SW Green Oaks Blvd (the one in the same strip as Chipotle). Adorable place. The food was amazing. The naans took us by surprise. Not only were they huge. They were so freah and soft on the top and crispy on the bottom. Absolutely amazing restaurant! The food is fresh and delicious, not greasy at all and you can see their care they put into the food. Not everything is made "traditional" but it's a fusion of Indian and Nepalese food which is the best. Some of the best service I have ever received. I have a SEVERE nut allergy and they were able to more than accommodate me. I normally cannot eat a thali because they can't fix it to where there is no nuts but they were able to! The momos were handmade and fresh, samosa were not greasy, garlic naan was HUGE, mango lassi ( not pictured) was delicious (not that weird neon orange color), paneer tikka masala was amazing ( they made it but nut free and the paneer were really big), salad and soup were so good (especially the salad dressing. Our absolute favorite was the Gobi Manchurian not the typical sticky heavy fry one but a lightly fried, super fresh and flavorful one. The decor is beautiful and in a great location! The restaurant does close for a few hours in the middle of the day but that's normal for Indian restaurants. There was not one thing we didn't like.
