This Cooper Street hidden gem is very unassuming but the food is fantastic. I was in a hurry when I saw the sign and decided to stop so I got mine to go. I got the Butter chicken since it was my first visit. It was very good! The spices were spot on. The one thing I like is the variety of South Indian options. There is something for everyone. The service was friendly and there is plenty of space to dine in. I'm going back to try some other dishes. Oh yeah the Mango Lassi I give a thumbs up too.

To show how much we enjoyed the dishes here...

So happy we found this place on Yelp! We had the best experience dining here and meeting Preyansh P was awesome! He is such a great addition to the really yummy, fresh dishes... We ordered the spicy fish curry and butter chicken. Our friends ordered theirs and they loved it, with them from South India! Flavors are yummy... You go in and order at the counter and they will deliver to you. We will come back again for sure...

My brother and I went to go visit, he really loves his soups and his onion dosa and I really loved my rava Marsala dosa. We both really enjoyed the free Iraqi chai tea. and after meeting the owner, we were treated to some amazing little snacks that were super tasty with the chutneys. I highly recommend going here. It is such an amazing place and has amazing Indian food from Southern India not the normal curries were used to.

    Samosa

Absolutely outstanding from the food to the service. The staff is extremely helpful, especially if you need menu assistance or recommendations. My food came out incredibly fresh and hot. Everything was absolutely beautiful from the fresh fluffy naan to the crisp samosas. I can see this being my new regular spot. Friendly atmosphere and good music too.

    Chicken 65 and mutton briyani

Once I entered, I was offered masala chai as a compliment. This is an ala carte restaurant. There are many daily specials in a board inside. First was Rameshwaram dosa which came with sauces sambar, coconut chutney and peanut chutney. It tasted as if I were in a restaurant Chennai. This is a bit thicker version of dosa. I checked and the cook is from Tamil Nadu. 2nd item was Chicken 65. It was good. 3rd was Mutton briyani which was dry. I packed the leftovers. It should last me for 2 more servings since quantities are large. I asked for extra sauces. No problem. This is a great South Indian non-vegetarian restaurant. They are open for breakfast which I did not try.

They're known for their absolutely fantastic lunch and dinner buffet with prices that are hard to beat, especially in this economy! I don't eat there in person often, but it's one of our top go-to spots for takeout/delivery. I swear it's just as good delivered to your doorstep as it is at the restaurant itself. They really know how to securely pack up a to-go order, I'll tell you that. I know we don't live far away, but still. It always arrives piping hot. Besides the obvious and ever-beloved chicken tikka masala (insanely good), I'm a big fan of their Mulligatawny Mughlai Soup (lentil soup with rice and chicken). It's super savory with a little lemony brightness. Ultra comfort food! We're also big fans of their veggie biryani: super fragrant basmati rice all dolled up with fresh veggies, paneer, raisins, and almonds. We also love their Bombay potatoes (spicy potatoes with mustard seed) and their Chana Masala Punjabi: spicy chick peas, potatoes, and onions in a tomato and onion gravy. How good does that sound?!

Our server was very friendly, and excited to find out it was my wife's first experience with Indian/Nepalese food. The Naan was perfect. The Murg Rara was very well seasoned and balanced, but could have used a little more heat for my taste. The pan fried chicken Momo's were fantastic and I throughly enjoyed the chutney they were served with. We did order a side of Raita as a milder sauce. The tika was excellent and the portion was large. Enough that we took over half of it home. The dining room was clean, modern, and inviting. We hadn't left the restaurant and were already talking about what to order on our next visit. Can't wait to go back! A true gem of a restaurant.

I really enjoyed the vegetable momos I got here--the flavor and crunch from the onions was so pleasant, and there was a hint of bitterness in the flavoring which I surprisingly didn't mind. It was flavorful and so delicious and it was amazing with the sauces on the side. I also ordered the himalayan vegetarian thali set, but since this was my first time trying a thali set I'm not sure how it compares in general. It was a nice experience but I only really loved the curry with mushrooms. However, I had this later as leftovers and it surprisingly tasted even better that way. We also tried the paneer tika masala and I'm so glad we got that. It was delicious, full of flavor, and went really well with the garlic naan. I also liked how generous the one order of naan was.

My daughter lost her first tooth at that pub, such good memories of years past. There are still Guinness signs hanging behind the bar. Seeing those old signs brought a single tear to my eye. One door closes and another opens. The restaurant that now calls the old pub their new home is great! All is good with the new place, you might even say great. The interior is not that of a pub anymore. It has been completely redone and the dining room is quite nice. I wouldn't call it a quiet cozy little romantic restaurant, but it could be if that's what you need. I would be willing to take my kiddos to the new restaurant, as long as the six-year-old boy is acting like a human on the day we decide to go. There is a full bar too. I feel that anyone can stop in for any occasion a fit right in. I don't remember the names of the dishes that my wife and I had for dinner but the food was very good. We kept it simple and we both had chicken dishes. If you want to step out and explore culinary culture they offer many appealing options. The food was fresh and light. The spices that they use are aromatic and flavorful. I am guessing that there is a strong Nepali influence. The beauty of the restaurant scene in Arlington is that there is so many different authentic cuisines from very specific regions. If you wanna have Indian food in Arlington you have to consider what kind of Indian food you want. If you go to downtown Fort Worth an Indian restaurant is an Indian restaurant. This little restaurant is a good representation of what Arlington restaurants have to offer. We will go back, soon.

If you are like me, just know that Nepalese has hints of other South Asian flavors like Indian food--richly spiced and layered in flavor, nicely cooked veggies. First off, the atmosphere is great! The restaurant is clean, colorful and welcoming. If you're tall, you may need to duck under the light fixtures. The service is so spectacular-- attentive and friendly. The server really added a special touch to our night. But we're all really curious to know about the food. It. Was. Mind-blowing. No, seriously. It is, without a doubt one of the best places in Arlington. We went with another couple who share my porous food boundaries so we ordered several thing and shared. The best bite was the vegetarian Aloo Cauliflower. Second best bite was the Royal Kofta Ball. We also tried a couple of chicken dishes that were delicious. You know it's a good place when you find yourself craving the Aloo Cauliflower even though it's been less than 48 hours. If you're in Arlington (and even if you aren't). Royal Nepal is Arlington's best restaurant--there, I said it.

The 3.9 star Yelp average is too low for this business and is likely due to the petty complaints of entitled customers. We have had Indian food everywhere both in the USA and internationally except for India itself. We have also eaten homemade Indian food made by immigrants. In light of this experience, SI food is in the top 2 Indian food restaurants we have ever eaten at. On our visit on a Sat night around 6:00, they were moderately crowed with low to average noise level. The shared lot gets full but you can find parking further away in the lot. There are several other good restaurants in their strip mall. Sadly, the BUFFET is ONLY offered on WEEKENDS now. However, neither the items, quality, nor price has changed much recently. They have their take on the traditional and common Indian buffet items: chicken Marsala, vindaloo, paneer, etc. Consequently, the buffet pics I posted years ago are still accurate. This is a family owned business. The wife is hostess, waitress, and cashier. The husband makes the naan fresh while you eat and you can watch him through a window. It is a little thicker and fluffier than some other places and has less "toppings" (garlic etc.), but tastes great. The soup in the buffet changes periodically. We definitely recommend giving these guys a try. The buffet is a great value if you eat a lot or if you want to try their menu items to see which you like. The regular menu is great if you want takeout or know which items you like already.
