Can't give less than 1 star. High pressure to sell products. Went in for 1 tooth to be pulled yet office wrote up multiple teeth to be pulled while they tried to pressure me into getting partials. I said NO, just 1 tooth. But because they wrote up multiple teeth, it took over 10 days for the approval. I finally called the insurance company and they filled me in!! "Why didn't they call for the 1 tooth? We would have OK'd it on the spot." NO, they had a plan in mind to get money for no service, which they did. Even tho no other teeth were pulled, this office made a partial for me. No teeth pulled, no fitting, no contact, no anything!!! They charged the insurance company over $5,000 for no service to me. Now I cannot get any real work for my teeth due to this. I went in to have my teeth cleaned. I wasn't thinking clearly that day or I would not have signed the agreement to have the cleaning done. I should have walked out. For them to charge $1,227.00 for a deep cleaning of only half of your teeth is outrageous. My part to pay was $339.00. I couldn't tell they did any cleaning other than a normal cleaning procedure. Need braces/dental work with a side of absolute, nausea-inducing stress and frustration? Look no further than Sage Dental! Their call center does not give correct information, they give you extremely inflated prices for dental work, the dentists will not follow their recommendations, and the orthodontia is unprofessional and a joke. The dentists will constantly make you pay for extra stuff you don't need (aka -- will tell you you have gum issues/too much plaque) and need a deep cleaning not covered by insurance or some type of special mouthwash or extra this or that not covered by insurance. They have changed orthodontists about three times; the dental staff has changed multiple times and has no clue what they are doing. All of the office staff are defensive and stand offish. They cancel appointments with no notice, they are THE WORST. If you go here despite the multiple and consistent HORRIBLE reviews, that's on you. This place is awfullllll! read more

My experiences with Sage Dental are very much in line with the other recent negative reviews here. Sage Dental has a policy of upselling, and they refuse to do a basic cleaning unless you agree to their upsold services. The staff are sometimes rude and condescending. Honestly, the periodontist they had until last year was the only good thing about Sage Dental in Altamonte Springs. I can't think of a single positive experience at Sage Dental with anyone other than Dr Alvarez and her assistant. The pre-pandemic general dentist placed crowns on two implants, and both started coming loose within 6 months. I have been back twice to have them tightened. The first time, a year ago, the general dentist (different than the one who placed the crowns) told me he couldn't do anything until the crowns fall out on their own (choking hazard?). My new general dentist at another practice tightened one a couple weeks later, and we held off on the other because it was barely loose. Today, the new general dentist at Sage Dental (different than last year) told me he can't access the screw without consulting with the periodontist who is not available for another month. I wanted Sage Dental to be accountable for their mistake (not properly tightening the crowns originally), but all I can get is the run-around. Avoid Sage Dental. read more

If I could give a zero rating, I would. I keep thinking that maybe it's an off day or I'm reading into something too much but nope. The reception is catty and rude. They never call back or answer the phone. Then they'll blame you for "not calling". The staff are unprofessional, rude and give subpar quality care. I just left with a cut in my lip and wet clothes because the dental assistant was being reckless with the hose. They don't communicate and will just leave the room without saying anything. PLEASE READ BEFORE USING THIS OFFICE for your dental care. Take a look at all the reviews by many different patients talking about the ways this practice forces patients into unnecessary expensive cleanings for routine care. These are all true as this Sage Dental office has highly unethical practices and I have experienced as well. I had 2 cleanings in 2024, the first one ate up over $700 off of my dental benefits, this was supposed to be a routine cleaning, and the iPad I signed before the treatment of the first cleaning had a total of around $250 for this cleaning I agreed to. When I saw the EOB was for over $700 I called and asked what happened and how the 2 numbers could be so far off. They told me that I "needed" an anti microbial treatment on many of my teeth, and that is why the cleaning was so much. I let them have that one, but the 2nd cleaning I had done last year, I specifically referenced the treatment code for that service, and verbally told them 3-4 times up front that I REFUSE TREATMENT for this service on this cleaning. The oriental dental hygienist that works there flat out lied to me, and I was STILL charged me for the SAME ANTI MICROBIAL TREATMENT that I verbally refused and said I didn't want. This EOB was over $800+. I immediately attempted contacted their corporate office at: patientfeedback@mysagedental.com , and spoke with someone named Robin and received zero resolution. I also called and ended up speaking to someone named Maria in the Altamonte office, explained everything in detail, and again, had zero resolution. Would you pay over $1,500 in routine cleanings, especially when you verbally said you DID NOT WANT a treatment that costs over $500+ each time (anti microbial)?? This practice engages in highly unethical billing practices and there are so many reviews on there stating examples of that. Went in for a cleaning that my insurance is paying for and came out 2 hours later with a list of work that they said I needed done. Over $2000 dollars and I told them I would like the cleaning that's all that my insurance is coving and they said no I have to pay the amount quoted or else I can't get any cleaning. What kinda of dentist is this what if you can't afford it that means you can't even get what your insurance is paying for? I have a regular dentist I see in NY for the last 10 years but I was in FL for the summer and this dentist just wants to rack up charges for work that's not even necessary. My question to this office if my insurance is paying for a cleaning why not just do what my insurance is paying for ? Or do you guys just get kicks by overcharging people. I left after an apportionment, Said I owed nothing, then later get a letter saying I owe money and that my insurance didn't cover it. Then this same exact thing happened again. Don't believe Delta Dental's on-site rating. Yelp's is much more accurate for this horribly run office. I was in between jobs, paid for my own insurance and went to the office to catch up on my oral care (really just needed a cleaning). I was accepted as a new patient, they cancelled the first appoint without notifying me, they have no automated text or email notifications, I had to show up and find out. After finally getting my first appointment they did every X-ray possible and only after doing all the X-rays did they evaluate and tell me I have to do whatever the dentist and hygenist say, I can't just have a cleaning that day. I've had 30 years of dentist appointments every 6 months and was never told I need a "deep cleaning" now all of a sudden it's a must or they won't treat me and it will cost $269. Also, the Dentist says I have an older silver filling that needs a crown ASAP because it is cracking my tooth (my last Dentist didn't say this) and that will be a $625 copay. But they can't do any work until the insurance approves so I can't even get a cleaning, even though I clearly explained the entire reason I needed an appointment was because I was between jobs and wanted maintenance, not extra expenses. Fast forward about 6 weeks, I got approval from insurance (which I had to notify Sage Dental about) and set an appointment for my "deep cleaning" (again calling multiple days with no return call until I threatened to show up in the office to set the appointment). My insurance says I should only pay $15 so I'm good with that for something I've never needed before because I need at least a normal 6 month cleaning. I get in the chair, they immediately tell me they need to book my 3 month appoints (no longer 6 months) and then the hygenist hands me a waiver with a long list of charges for this "deep cleaning" totaling over $1000 and at the end says my payment after insurance will be $162 dollars today before I can leave. When I argued about the cost the hygenist said "Didn't they tell you this" I was like no they didn't do anything at all as I had to do all the work and now you want to charge me more than the insurance states. I said I would have to cancel and check with my insurance about these charges and the hygenist then said she'd have to re-evaluate me if I came back. I said "Do you think things would change that fast" and she said "No". So I then asked why after all these years going to the dentist was every 6 months for checkups and now it's 3 months and a deep clean vs a normal clean? Did the ADA roll out a new protocol? She answered, "No, you are old now that is what you need, you can go get a 2nd opinion but they will all tell you the same thing". This is the biggest money-making scam and I don't see how things changed this fast in the dental industry. But this Sage Dental office is 100% about the money and upselling. But the worst part is they don't tell you "anything" prior to the visit and once you are there they repeatedly tell you from the front desk staff to every helper, that whatever you want doesn't matter, "you have to do whatever the dentist recommends" period. So in summary, they got all their insurance money for tons of X-rays, I got 2 months of waiting and doing all the insurance leg work and still never got a any type of check up maintenance cleaning. Last, now they burnt my X-ray allowance and another office won't see me if they can't do X-rays first. If I could give a negative number rating I would. read more

i stopped in this facility and had X-rays of my teeth..Dentist looked at them along with some staff members...said I had a cavity under my gum which had grew into my nerve..I said just pull my tooth..I was persuaded to get a root canal and crown..Dentist drilled my cavity and filled it...believing that this dentist did a competent job I left feeling as though I was lead in making the right decision...well after 8 months guess what my cavity which was believed removed started to continue to decay due to the fact this dentist obviously didn't completely remove 100 percent of it..had a my new dentist look at my tooth which gum had began to have an abscess forming...had X-ray which showed indeed cavity was causing this issue..now the dentist can't save my tooth...will need to pull it...anyway this Sage Dentisty is a total incompetent place to deal with...simply unbelievable they can provide such poor service ..and not really care about their patiences.... read more

I have never experienced such a low standard and quality of care as there was at Sage Dental Altamonte. They are THE ABSOLUTE WORST! Their orthodontist was constantly trying to end treatment for my son at every visit. They could never manage to order enough trays to last until his next scheduled visit, and there was 1 time that they could not get him new trays for 2 months (keeping him in the same tray for 2 months). The constant turnover of staff was also a problem during our time there. On a single appointment he had to attend by himself (he had just turned 17), the orthodontist ended his treatment and (per the office staff), she falsely documented that parents were happy with treatment. That did not happen, as we were not present and did not receive a call. He is a minor. He was told that we would get a call to pick up his retainer, but that did not happen. Per the office staff, it was never even ordered. When I returned to try to get them to finish the job in October, their new orthodontist (the 3rd one) was shocked at the care my son received. When the office manager came in, she refused to continue treatment and wanted me to pay for the clear aligners, AGAIN. They will also not refund my money. I took him to another orthodontist who quoted another 18 months of treatment, so they are really bad at what they do and clearly don't think that there will be any consequences. Go anywhere other than this place. They will try to make excuses and shift blame, even with a completely compliant kid like my son. It's just completely garbage orthodontic care. Friendly at the desk but as soon as I walked through the doors i felt like i was at a car dealership rather than a dentist. I know i needed a good amount of work but Christine Monir gave a laundry list of extras and the proceeded to ask if I'd ever considered braces? She also wanted to extract my 2 Wisdom teeth that never showed right next to the molars I'm having extracted. It's clear this place has enough clientele that they don't need to care about you or your needs. They are just part of the soulless money machine that was created post covid. My mother also went here and found out she was over charged for many things and they added services she didn't need. I came here and brought my wife here. This is year 4 now and I love it. The dentist were caring and my wife who moved here from the Philippines beginning of this year came here as her first US Dental experience. This location front desk staff has changed. I was gone for a year, and noticed all new front desk staff. The dentist are the same however. I have never been upsold, and familiar with my teeth on all accounts. I was even told I didn't need the preventative sealants (usually for kids/teens) but I wanted them anyways, and paid for them also. I find the reviews that are negative either fake or un-reputable as almost all but 1 ONE had less than 10 reviews in total. I will say its possible they confused this location with the Apopka location. The Apopka location is complete garbage. Also if you are 20-30 minutes late you WILL need to reschedule unless you get lucky and someone cancelled. This is usually the case anywhere you go. Here it's enforced. They are VERY busy and thats because they are awesome. The dentist was nice, friendly, educated me on some things, sociable, gentle, and awesomeness. They say that they will work till you are satisfied, but that is not true, They did a bad job and took 2 years instead 7 months like they said, also, they change doctors very frequently and the doctors blame each other for bad work and the final result is a bd work with no warranty, even if your physiognomy changes like me. I had to wait for an emergency appt for 4 days, then left work early. I had to take antibiotics because I have knee replacements. After sitting in the chair an hour and a half nothing was done except he wiggled my bridge and said yeas you now need an 8 unit bridge instead of 4. No x-rays or did not take off the bridge to look at the broken tooth. They do not make porcelain fused to metal crowns only porcelain, which is not as strong. I was told when I made the appt. the dentist would make sure I was comfortable until all the work could be done. This did not happen. They also want to charge a pin build up under each crown, which you do not need on every Tooth. I was not happy during the visit or on my way out with nothing done after 1.5 hours of waiting. read more

Not sure how to respond, but my 1 star rating should explain it all. I recently took my daughter the Altamonte Springs location and on the first visit everything seemed to be okay. I had been looking for my daughter and dentist close to, and she also needed braces. Got an appointment, no problem. And after her initial visit, braces placed, and a new debt of over $5000 I can't get a call back. My daughter had the top braces placed and I had questions, but these were discussed on her follow up and informed my daughter that they were okay. On the second visit to get the bottom one's done the person placing them did them incorrect and the Orthodontist came in and removed them and had someone else put them on. Since her dad took her I did not see the work that was performed until that evening after work. Needless to say my daughter had some concerns that she showed me. Brackets missing one the same day placed??? I called the office to try and speak with someone who informed that someone from Orthodontist group would call me back. Not only have yet to receive a call 5 days later, I forgot to mention her cleaning was cancelled last minute and make up appt was has never been schedule. I tried to be patient and not report them to BBB or contact the company that financed her braces to inform them of the bad service their partner is offering their patients. Being in Health Care this is poor quality and not sure who their office manager is but their process as well customer service is hurting the name of Sage dental. read more

The 1st one was wonderful but the one that took over never fully read her treatment plan or file and completely missed the part where her 1st doctor recommended her have 4 teeth removed to correct her over jet. Horrible customer Service! Horrible employees, and incompetence abound!!!!!!! DO NOT GO HERE! I had used this location of Sage Dental for 4-5 years. In the past, The female Dentist and staff were always great. With Covid I avoided the cleanings for 18 months, until I was vaccinated. I decided to get the Sagecare+ plan, and made an appointment. Monday August 9, I am driving to my 8 am appointment, when I get a call 15 minutes before my appointment to tell me, the Dr. was sick and they had to cancel. We all know if that was one of us cancelling, we would be charged. The girl who called me says, "oh well people get sick". Absolutely, we all get sick, but we notify our jobs 4 hours prior to give others time to plan. I reschedule a week later, August 16, 8 am, get a call to change it to 8:30 am, got another call to say the Dr. is not out for a family emergency (bull crap) and it would be a different dentist and they were moving my appointment to 9am. All this confusion in one week. I show up today, do the paperwork UPDATE, go in the back at 9:30 (I arrived on time). I am told they are doing X-Rays today, I said no, I am here for X-Rays and a cleaning. I told the guy who was helping me, no cleaning today means I cancel my Sagecare plan, stop using Sage Dental, and leave you negative reviews. I am told they can't schedule a same day cleaning, and to go see Crystal. Totally the perfect example of a non-caring, unhelpful, and rude employee. I told her to return my payment for my dental care plan. Her reply, I can't do any of that, only the manager can. Please, do yourself a favor, do not consider using this dental office. Read all the other comments about the poor service and work ethic. They only have 3.5 stars for a reason, truth is that score is 2.5 stars more than they deserve. I came for simple dental cleaning hovewer they refuse to do and started offering additional work which I needed to pay for out of pocket. Doctor was very meen and did not want to see me until after I agree to pay for treatment. I did not have a choice and when they applied a medicine it took one week to wash it out without any effect. They are nice but definitely slow and ALWAYS LATE! They literally always run behind on appointments. Be prepared to wait for your scheduled appointment for about 30mins or more. Some of the staff members are really nice but I really hate waiting such a long time for a scheduled appointment. I was not pleased with my cleaning service today. The hygienist was very hurried; never have I EVER had a full dental cleaning completed in 15mins. She wasn't thorough and even missed entire sections of teeth. I won't be coming back again. I wouldn't recommend that anyone bother with this Sage dental location either. This was the WORST new patient appointment I've ever had! If I didn't use my insurance for the X-ray exams I definitely would never go back! The dentist was literally the only exception. The hygienist, hygienist assistant who couldn't even keep up with the dental hygienist were only concerned about going home and did not hold back about how they felt. Horrible experience turned in to the best visit. I set an appointment at 9am and didn't get seen until 10am. 30 minutes after that I still haven't seen the doctor and had another appointment right after at 11am. I expressed my urgency but my request fell onto deaf ears. Needles to say I walked out feeling like I wasted 2 hours of my life. About an hour later the doctor called to apologize about the experience and told me to come in anytime and they will see me asap. The only thing I had a problem with was after they filled the filling a month and a half later the filling broke and came out... of all the filling I have, I never once had any of them come out so I found this to be strange.
