It is a long overdue review for Dr. Christine Chang. I was her patient a couple of years ago in the Bay Area. She was an amazing acupuncturist. I was under a lot of stress with the fertility treatment, every session with Christine was a joy. She was always very caring and listened to my rants about life. At that time, she was about to embark a journey to Haiti with a doctors without borders group. I was so excited for her. Unfortunately, Covid happened, I stopped acupuncture visits, and later on learned that she was no longer with the clinic anymore :( Christine, I want to thank you for your support during my last fertility journey. This isn't a day spa, so know what you're walking into. This is an older office building, entrance is around back. Parking is easy. My first issue: no working restroom. Before an hour long "relaxing" treatment it's hard to relax if I didn't have a restroom. Staff had no recourse. I was told I'd need to drive to the local grocery store! My husband got a massage, and had pretty tepid review (fine, not great). I got a facial, which was new for me. I didn't find it relaxing (constant ticking timer going off, foul smelling creams). I don't think I'll be back to this facility. I'm told they are best for chiropractics. Staff was perfectly friendly and kind, but ambiance and facilities weren't what I hoped for. read more

I went to Sage in 2021 for treating the early stage of Dupuytren's disease (viking disease). Rob Rohlmeier treated me with FSM and acupuncture (combined) over a 6 week period. The lumps in my hands went completely away. Now - 2025 - I have had no issues with either hand and no new lumps have formed. Conventional treatment is to wait until some of your fingers are frozen in place and then do surgery to reduce (not eliminate) the issues. Big thanks to Rob for effective treatment! read more

Came in mainly for lower back (L4/L5) problems flaring up, also my neck and shoulder (problems there C5/6/7 going to my right shoulder, sometimes down the arm). The treatment/adjustment did OK for my neck, but did nothing for my lower back. At the time, Dr. Sage mentioned being "gentle to make sure I come back" as a little joke, but I obviously was looking for something more potent. She mentioned an assistant giving me instructions for how to "not undo what she had done, but no instructions were given, and when I wrote an e-mail later that day asking for same, no response. Main issue is with billing. Has been 17 days and still nothing showing at my insurance. I liked the office well enough to plan on going back, but they charged full price on my credit card when per where my deductible was with my insurance (Anthem Blue Cross) I should have paid much less. They said they'd give me a check for the difference when things were figured out... I had scheduled another visit but told them I wanted them to bill my insurance instead of my paying full price up front, and they said they couldn't do that, some B.S. about not being able to "when a service is provided." Sure... I can get a full surgery or MRI and those places go through insurance and get charges agreed upon before billing! Three calls to the office since and nothing is showing up with my insurance still, no follow up from the office after any call. At least they answer the phone, to apparently blow smoke? Shitty way to treat a potential new client. read more

I saw somewhere else that someone wrote Dr. Sage is a born healer and I couldn't have said it better myself. There's only two people in this world that I have met that have the type of incredible, kind, calming and vibrant energy that Dr. Sage possesses and I haven't even begun to talk about how transformative her practice is. The first time I went to Dr. Sage I was sold. She identified misalignments that I had never had checked or been told of. After our adjustment I felt immediate and intense relief. As someone with chronic neck and shoulder pain, it was amazing to find someone who could relieve that. In addition, I struggle with neck adjustments and since day one she has always made modifications to give me the adjustment I needed without doing a manual adjustment. I can't tell you how much I appreciate her listening to me as a client but also listening to my body. My entire family (and I mean... my ENTIRE family) now go to her and no one else. I'm so grateful to have found her. I have been wronged by chiropractors in the past who did unnecessary adjustments, peddled fear and clearly only cared about the $$$. Dr. Sage's practice is NOTHING like this. Her sole intention is to make sure every person that comes through her doors leaves feeling better. Endlessly grateful for her. wow well deserved 5 star rating, I've been experiencing back and neck pain for about 3-4 years. Laying in bed after a day of work had my Lower back and neck throbbing almost every night. Certain back cracks I had done on my self would help to a certain extent, but then I would slowly feel it come back in a matter of days. I worked with Kirsten Sage as she made me feel super welcomed and comfortable. She listened to me about how it felt, how I relieved the pain and even gave me tips!. However she found exactly where the pain was coming from simply in 5 minutes into my appointment. She adjusted my lower back and neck a few days ago but I have never felt so free with moving my body like that in the past 4 years. I haven't gotten not even a sliver of pain since. I've received a letter in the mail requesting I update my review since I've now been able to have an appointment. I was able to book a massage, but I don't remember who the provider was. They had me down incorrectly for a deep tissue massage when I had requested a Swedish massage. The massage was okay, nothing amazing but not bad. A couple weeks later I found out I was pregnant and dealing with awful morning sickness, so I decided to try acupuncture there since I still have a gift card. I saw Lina. When I arrived they asked if I completed my forms, which were never provided to me in advance. Lina then asked why I was having morning sickness, which I thought was an odd question to ask a pregnant woman. She then lectured me I did not put on the form I was pregnant, which I definitely did. I've had acupuncture many times, so I'm familiar with it. Wasn't super impressed and unfortunately had no relief after. The music stopped while I was laying with needles in, and all I could hear were people washing their hands in the sink directly outside the door. The facility is nice, but if I didn't have gift cards I don't know that I would pay on my own. read more

I've come in every week consistently for almost three months and never had an issue or complained about wait time. Up until this point everyone has been super friendly. However today when I was running late I was met with nothing but hostility on the other end of the phone that made me rethink how much everyone here cares about patients. On top of being treated rudely for letting them know I was running 5-10 minutes late due to an accident on the freeway, receptionist Nikki cancelled my appointment even though I called beforehand. A majority of the time i'm waiting 10-15 minutes before being seen (mostly for an appointment that lasts maybe ten minutes), so I thought this was pretty extreme given i've seen them grant leeway to other patients who arrive late while I've been there. Kristen is nice and seems to genuinely care, which is why this review is not 1 star-- however until today it was a five star review. Nikki on the phones needs some more training. At the end of the day I come in to help my pain and stress, not add more on, and this experience will prevent me from returning. read more

Yet I arrive today and not only is the address incorrect on yelp but also it says they are open and no one's there. It says to go to another building and you can't even enter the lobby. I've been a regular client at Sage Health for probably 20 years. Dr. Kirsten Sage is a wonderful Chiropractor as well as a beautiful, kind, caring person. Her techniques do not involve cracking, twisting or otherwise manipulating clients' necks, backs or any other body part, which other practitioners tend to do, and which can actually cause damage and pain. Her approach is refreshingly gentle but very effective as she gathers information from the client and hands-on testing, and targets the appropriate chi points and muscles to effect a healing process. Her staff and assistants are also great. In addition to regular monthly "tune-up" chiropractic adjustments over the years, I had many months of acupuncture for a couple of conditions a while back and found this service at Sage to also be very helpful. You can receive everything from chiropractic to acupuncture, facials, various massage techniques, aromatherapy and more at Sage Health. Probably the best source in Encinitas, and possibly all North County San Diego, for all your non-invasive alternative health services. P.S.
