So thankful Bob from Sage Jewelers was able to resize my wedding and engagement rings so quickly and beautifully; you can't even notice at all, from outside OR the inside! Very hard to convey the relief to get them back so quickly, after wearing for "multiple decades" :) with out ever removing them. Great attention to detail, and he shined them up, too! I was happy to know he would do the job in the store, and not have to send them out, which was very important to me. Who wants to take a chance of things being sent out and in with your most precious jewelry? P. S. My only 1 STAR review. Purchased 2 wedding bands on 04/18.... never came in. I called today 05/09 and was told any day now. I asked to cancel the order, they missed my anniversary. I was told tough luck. I was also talked to like I didn't matter by the owner. 1400.00 and no rings, no I'm sorry and no decency. I'll leave the matter with the credit card company. Wow, we had a bad experience with Sage Jewelers (7/5/18) --- with the owner in particular. I had my wife go in ask them to open up a watch. He responded by scolding her and giving her the bum's rush out of the store. Unreal! When I called to tell him how upset she was, gave me one juvenile/untrue answer after another: "I wasn't nasty" (she was almost in tears); "I was busy" (nobody else in store when she walked in - and anyway, is THAT a reason to be nasty to a customer?); "that watch can't be opened from the back" (from a jeweler that's just a lie; Linwood Custom Jewelers did it later the same day - about 20 seconds). Some people have an answer for everything. It's never their fault. If this guy wants to operate under the principle that "the customer is always wrong", I guess he can. But if do us all a favor and just be civil and tell the truth. Never. Going. Back. read more

I was interested in buying my boyfriend a gold chain for our anniversary and I had mild knowledge about which direction I should go in, regarding the best value for the price, but Bob (the man I dealt with) completely took my knowledge to the next level. He was informative, honest, and reliable. He took his time and broke down every single option for me regarding the karat of gold, the length of the chain, the width, and the style. He was able to give me many, many options and even offered to deliver them to the store next-day, so I could view them ASAP. Aside from being knowledgeable, they're FRIENDLY, and they've been legitimate jewelers since they were practically teenagers (its a family business). I went to about 10 stores before trying Sage, which was based on a recommendation from a friend, and it was the first time I went into a jewelry store and didn't feel like I was being taken advantage of regarding pricing. I inherited a beautiful opal ring from my Grandmother that my aunt been holding for me. She gave it to me before I moved back to NJ from Georgia. Instead of keeping it for myself I am giving it to my daughter for Christmas since it is her birthstone. She remembers her great-grandmother fondly and I want to see my daughter enjoy it. After failing to deliver an order over a week and a half after the promised due date, the merchant berated me for having the audacity to expect the merchandise, or at the very least, an apologetic phone call. I just had perhaps the worst customer service experience of my life. Sage was recommended to me by a friend for jewelry repair. A bit over a year ago, I took my wedding/engagement ring there because a prong was loose. After looking at the ring the owner, John, recommended more extensive repair replacing all of the boxes that held each of the diamonds (a total of 6 diamonds). I agreed to the repair upon his suggestion that the prongs were too old to repair. To my horror, two days ago I noticed that one of the diamonds was missing out of the ring. I took it to the store just now, and had an awful experience. When I walked in, I explained to the woman working at the counter about the repairs done just a year ago. John was in the back and overheard. He asked for the ring, and immediately got defensive saying "how could I expect him to honor his repairs from a year ago?" He also said there were now 3 prongs loose. I AM NOT rough on my things. This is the nicest piece of jewelry I will ever own, and I take very good care of it. I pointed out that I had it for 16 years without a problem before I brought it to him. He cut me off and demeaned me several times, saying things like "I ve been in this business 30 years, and I KNOW!" and "What do you want me to do melt it down and sell it?" I'm really not even sure what he meant by those comments. All I do know is that a SINGLE year of normal use should not be all one gets out of a jeweler's repairs. More than that, his attitude and demeanor were highly unprofessional and downright rude. At the end of his rant he gave me a very weak offer to leave the ring and "he'd see what he could do." There was NO way I was going to let him touch my ring with that kind of attitude. I will eat the cost, and go somewhere that customers are treated with dignity and respect. read more
