Here's a Yelp review you could post: We stopped into Sagebrush Cantina for lunch and had a pretty good experience overall. We started with the chips and salsa. The chips tasted homemade, thin and crispy with just the right amount of salt. The salsa was a little thinner than I prefer, but it had a nice kick once it arrived. For our meal, we ordered the chicken, steak, and shrimp fajitas. The steak and chicken were both moist, flavorful, and well seasoned. The shrimp, unfortunately, didn't have much flavor, and I was disappointed by the vegetable ratio. There was a huge bed of onions and only about one pepper in the mix. One of the highlights was the steak tacos. The steak was chopped into small pieces, packed generously into the tortillas, and so tender and juicy that you could barely close them. They were absolutely delicious. We also tried the handmade chicken taquitos appetizer. They come cut into smaller pieces rather than whole taquitos, but don't let that fool you. The chicken was finely shredded, the crispy exterior was perfect, and the spicy sauce that came with them was excellent. The portion was surprisingly large and easily shareable. A special shoutout to our server, Parker. He was fantastic. He checked on us frequently without being intrusive, offered menu recommendations, brought us extra tortillas without us even having to ask, and genuinely made us feel welcome. Great service can make a meal memorable, and Parker definitely did that. There is plenty of parking since the restaurant is located in a plaza, though it's easy to drive right past it if you're not paying attention. The only downside was the price. Lunch ended up being around $20 per person, which feels a little high. Still, the quality of the food and excellent service make it a place I'd return to.I'd probably rate that 4 stars: great service, excellent tacos and taquitos, good fajitas overall, a great meal. read more

Nice atmosphere, pretty popular in the area and good service, but the quality of the food has dropped to an all time low unfortunately. After a bad experience almost 10 years ago, we decided to try again. Logan C was our server and we had the nachos. OMG, the food was great and Logan was wonderful. We stop here on the way home from up north a few times a year. Normally they are pretty good. This last visit was very disappointing however. We came in on a Monday night. Place wasn't busy at all and we sat at the bar. Started with drinks with salsa/chips. Never received napkins/silverware. I went and got napkins myself from the server station. Soup had to be set back because it wasn't hot. I kept saying something was missing from the soup or they changed the recipe. After we finished it, I pulled up the menu online and realized there was no rice! I mean none, not even one grain! None! I don't understand how that can even happen. Didn't bother to tell bartender since we finished it before realizing what was missing, plus she just wasn't attentive. Meal itself was just okay. Had the outrageous chimichanga. I rarely write reviews, but our recent experience was incredibly frustrating due to a total breakdown in service and management.We had a youth football game run late, so I adjusted our waitlist reservation on the app and received a text confirmation for a party of 8 under "Sarah." When we arrived, the host stand had a reservation for a "Sean" but insisted they couldn't find ours, despite me showing them the text confirmation on my phone. They were polite enough and estimated a 20-minute wait, and fortunately, we were sat sooner than that.Unfortunately, that is where the service completely stopped. We sat for a long time without even being greeted or brought water. Because my son was overheating from his football game, my father eventually had to go to the bar themselves just to get him a glass of water. After 30 minutes, we finally received chips, but still no drink orders had been taken. My son actually ended up having to go home early with his grandfather because he was unwell and we couldn't get any timely service to get him food or a drink.When our waiter, Nick, finally brought our drinks, we asked if we could place our food order since we had been waiting so long. He told us he had to take another table's drink order first and left. From the time we sat down to the time we received our food (6:40PM to 7:55PM), we watched five other tables in our section get seated, get their drinks and food, and completely finish their meals and leave. To make matters worse, we watched tables who arrived well after us get served their food first.I understand that youth staff are learning and things get busy, but a 1.5-hour wait for food with virtually no communication or basic table service is unacceptable for a party of our size. I hope management uses this as a training tool to improve their reservation tracking and table pacing. Happy family memories growing up in Lake Orion & Sagebrush was a favorite. Moved over 20yrs ago & just thrilled to be visiting Fenton & discover this location. Prime dinner time Saturday evening showed a 20min wait, they sat us within 5min, hustling cleaning tables seeing our party had a man on crutches. Young sweet hostess offered on her own to hold them behind the reception station while we ate. Holly P. our waitress was FABULOUS! She was enthusiastic with suggestions & service. Seemed to enjoy her job & was great at it. We changed our order, she didn't seem annoyed & got it right on a busy prime hour weekend! So thrilled for a great experience after all these years! We ate here last Friday night! I'm sorry to say it wasn't the best eating experience! The food was ok but the service was the worst we experienced in the 3 weeks we spent in Michigan!! Our server, I believe his name was Dillon was terrible! I ordered the Fajita combo, I wanted the combo!! Steak, chicken and shrimp! He never asked what combo I wanted since there were multiple options! Then he delivered the food, steak and chicken! I told him that I ordered the combo and said he could bring shrimp, I said I just wanted to start eating. He would be right back with the tortillas and the sour cream! He never came back! After 10 minutes I caught him passing our table and asked if he planned to bring the tortillas and the sour cream, he said I got you, still I sat there for another 5 minutes he never responded! Finally I asked a runner for the tortillas, came in 30 seconds and my daughter gave up her sour cream so I could eat! I got the Catina fries as an appetizer and the chimichanga for my meal. The Catina fries were good for the first couple bites but then the jalapeño overpowered it. This appetizer would be much better if there was less jalapeño. The chimichanga itself was very good, I really enjoyed the fresh guacamole and sour cream. The beans and rice were okay, nothing special. The hostess was very polite and seated us right away. Our server was also nice and efficient. Sagebrush has a welcoming ambiance. This is a very busy Mexican place. Our server was great. We didn't realize how long it would take to get our food but she helped as we were headed out to the movies after. Cute decor. As I said it was very busy. Thank you goodness they take reservations. We ordered the chile relleno with enchilada, buffalo shrimp tacos and salads. Chili rellenos are tricky. They're supposed to be cheese stuffed peppers fried in a tempura type coating. But if you can't do them right they can be awful. Mine was very greasy. The rice was bland and the beans were runny. The enchilada had plenty of shredded beef, but again tasteless. Even the sauce was bland. The salads were ok and the dressing is on the side. Ask for two serving of dressing if you get the salad. The shrimp tacos were ok but it was hard to taste the shrimp or even see it. LOL If you're looking for better Mexican food, I'd go elsewhere. I still love this place! We are in the midst of supply issues, limited goods, job market crisis with limited access to employees, and inflation and this restaurant still delivers with their value, taste, and service. We recently went to a similar type of restaurant that charged more than double ($10 for a taco bell sized beef )for an a la carte burrito less than a year after I got it at a cheap price. Here... their a la carte super burrito is less than two dollars more for four times the size stuffed with tons of goodies. And for a couple more dollars you can get it wet covered in enchilada sauce and cheese. Their super burrito is so big it can be multiple meals and has all of your dinner sides, like the beans and sour cream instead stuffed inside. Sure they did raise their prices, but the value is still here. We love the outrageous chimi which comes with chili (or soup or salad). The chili is so great the whole family could not stop eating it with the crisp, crunch, salty chips. They were not stingy with the chips so hot an yummy, with great salsa. Even the appetizers are a meal for a good price. The kids love the chicken tenders and fries, which is huge, and the quesadillas which is also served like a meal with sides of rice, pico, and guach and sour cream. There is so much food we all had tons to take home. I like their beer and marg selection still. While I did not order any this time, they offered some really great priced and great looking marg flights. The service was great too. This is your favorite place of mine for Mexican food. I almost always order the chicken tortilla soup. It's a perfect combination of chicken with some vegetables in a delightfully seasoned broth. And adding tortilla chips to anything just makes things great! I'm also a huge fan of the fish taco which I get ala cart. By the time I eat a bowl of the chicken tortilla soup I can really only eat a fish taco if not any of the sides that would normally come with it. I love everything about the fish taco. Unlike other restaurants the soft tortilla is packed with fish and the coleslaw like topping. Hmmm, just writing this review makes my mouth water! read more

I recently dined at Sagebrush and was quite disappointed with my experience. We ordered queso, and it arrived cold. When we informed our waitress, she seemed indifferent but mentioned she would bring us a new one. Unfortunately, the replacement queso was also cold. Not to mentioned we had a few things missing in our order. This was frustrating, especially considering that the restaurant has a new manager, and it feels like the quality has declined since their arrival. I was in tonight November 7th with my family and there was a guy walking around checking on tables, who I assume was the manager. He had a very stank face the whole night which made me uncomfortable. My dinner was going well, server was great, until I heard screaming and turned and saw it was the same guy who was checking on tables. I will never come back with that type of management. I've been a fan of sage brush for years. Honestly, you can't get better Tex- mex style food in the area. The salsa they bring to the table is my favorite by far, I put it on everything there.. including my salads! The cantina margarita is top notch, always a must when I stop in. My favorite item? The Buffalo shrimp tacos! The popper sauce they put on them is SO good! I always get extra on the side! I also love the salads here.. but wanting, come hungry because they are HUGE. Always love stopping in at Sagebrush when we're in town from Louisville for Fish Tacos and Carne Asada Burritos! Margaritas are always great while you wait for a table or your food. Highly recommend calling ahead, even if your party is small. The staff seemed frustrated when we called to put our name in this visit, but after 6 hours on the road we didn't want to wait 45 minutes for a table, the staff member was clearly annoyed she had to transfer to the call to the front of the restaurant to put our name in and the hostess was too clearly annoyed we wanted to put our name in, however it was the smart move because even calling ahead we waited 30 minutes with a wait list of 15 tables.
