I just don't understand why DoorDash has a 4.7 star rating for this place. My tortilla chips were burnt. My enchilada had a red sauce that tasted like spaghetti-o's. The beef was extra greasy. I won't be giving this place another chance even if ratings are high. There are plenty of other Mexican restaurants in the area that have better food. read more

I'm giving this place a 5 solely on the vibe and the staff being so friendly. It was really quiet inside which I love but we def need to get this place some business. I loved my first visit here. Service was quick and nice, free chips were warm and salsa was good. Menu is huge. Whatever you might want, or whatever combination of items they have it. I loved the chicken fajita quesadilla. It was huge and had so much chicken. Price was amazing for what we got. Where else can you get a $11.99 authentic combo meal on a weekend? Those reviews that bash this place have obviously never ate here. 5 stars for food! 5 stars for service especially Luis! 5 stars for ambiance! I've ate here more times than I can remember. Absolutely awesome every time. We've tried several different dishes and always had great food. I highly recommend El Toro. By far the best Mexican food in Brighton!! Seriously, someone ordered chicken nuggets at a Mexican restaurant and someone complaining about red sauce on enchiladas Taco Bell that way read more

The amount of food they serve you is ridiculous!! I ordered Molcajete. It's like fajitas in a bowl. AMAZING!! I couldn't stop eating! I'll have leftovers for days. They also have a food truck we hit up at the Taco Fest in Royal Oak. Just as good and the tacos are over stuffed with goodness. Same amazing taste!! Can't wait to go back. read more

Nice place! Fast and efficient, staff is friendly and helpful. Only problem I see is the name on the outside is El Toro??? We found that in a Google search... I hope you find it either way. There's not many Mexican places in the area, but this one is my go-to for good, reasonably priced food. I believe they are recently under new management, and that is a good thing! On tuesdays the tacos on special are authentic - made with corn tortillas, onion & cilantro. Previously, it was a sad hard shell taco with just meat. On tuesdays and Wednesday's, margaritas are 1/2 price all day. I'm giving 4 stars because the tamales were terrible, the masa was flavorless and had a strange texture. After a long day, having good beer and good food soothes the soul. I got the steak and shrimp and it was tender. Meat was thin sliced. Wifey had the veggie taquitos which she devoured everything. We enjoyed what we got. Enjoyed the never ending chips and salsa. Not bad at all. Service was very attentive but not overly attentive. Restrooms have paper towels which is a plus. I used to go to a location in Oakland County when I used to live out there, so when I discovered there was one in Brighton I was so excited! El Toro has some really delicious food, a liquor license, and reasonable prices. It sounds kind of crazy but my absolute favorite thing they have is just a cheese quesadilla dipped in their salsa. I never order quesadillas unless I'm here... there's just something about the flavor of the cheese with that salsa that is perfection. I placed an online order for lunch. My husband's chimichanga was not deep fried and didn't have any seasonings on it. The beans served with it were cold and watery and the cheese was so melted it came off the chimichanga and was all over the bottom of the carry out tray. I ordered lunch special #10 which was supposed to be an enchilada, a chalupa, and a cheese quesadilla. Look at the picture and tell me where the chalupa is? Maybe I'm too accustomed to Taco Bell chalupas but if the round item next to the enchilada is supposed to be the chalupa then I think they've confused a tostada with a chalupa. When my husband went to pick up the order he said he walked in and there were two male employees standing around and when he asked about the order one of the employees just pointed to a table where the food was waiting. No words were spoken. It was very rude. We won't be back. read more

It's the Taco Bell review that had me rolling!!! Seriously people?! Usually if you're visiting an AUTHENTIC Mexican restaurant, majority of their employees may speak limited English. Being that Spanish is a primary language in the US, your bigotry only proves that you're shallow minded and just a plain idiot. Nonetheless, this place is AMAZING! Not only do they offer FREE soup (which is some of the best I've ever had tbh) and coffee, the hospitality by Jose and his crew are undoubtedly the best in the county. They brought me out the best shrimp tacos I've ever had, accompanied by an array of different salsas and hot sauces that they had made for VIP's. Go here. Get a margarita. My favorite Mexican restaurant in brighton! The many dine in & carry out experiences I've had have not disappointed. The staff is always very friendly and I've never had to wait more than 10-15 minutes for my food after I place my order. The chicken tortilla soup is delish & my go-to entree is the fajita burrito (steak). The only thing I've ever ordered here that I have not liked was a classic lime margarita- just tasted a bit to much like it was from a cheap mix and most definitely a batched drink. Since then, I've stuck to my pacificos and have been happy! read more

Been here a few times and the food is always amazing and the service is great. Today the food was amazing but the service was terrible. Took forever to get our drinks and queso. He never brought our hot sauce or the cheese for my meal. Had to get up and hunt down the waiter to get my bill. Sorry Dude. You missed out on a $30 tip. This was our second time eating here! Both times have been good! I love their chips and salsa to start! I don't like overly spicy so I think the salsa is perfect! I went there on Memorial Day and we were the only people there. I myself am picky so I just got a taco with rice and beans. The taco was kind of spicy yet good, the refried beans were excellent, this place was also the only place I have liked rice. The chips and salsa to start was good, the salsa was mild. Came here for the 2nd time...giving it another whirl. Lunch this time and it was pretty good...not as good as other places in the area and a lot less bang for your buck. And what's even more disappointing is they charge for hot sauce..crazy..and it's not even that good, actually kinda gross. Chips and regular salsa are on point though. We love Mexican restaurants with unlimited chips and salsa. Chips and salsa are great here. Chips are thicker and crunchier and salsa is salsa. It didn't take ling to bring our food. Everything was fresh and tasty. I ordered shrimp salad and shrimp were great, crunchy and fresh but i wish salad had more flavour to it, no dressing and seems to have only salad leaves. You won't get full if you only order salad here. Staffed jalapeños were great, came as a main dish. Also, waitress was a very nice girl but it took her a while ti take our order and get a check even that it was slow. Decor is unique and beautiful and restaurant is clean and nice. I would recommend this restaurant and I will be back for sure. read more

When I go into the store, which is a hassle for me, I see surly, unhappy servers and three full garbage cans overflowing with trash to the point it's on the floor. One time, I waited a half hour during a lunch rush, and when it was finally my turn to order, they said they didn't have any more soft shells so I'd have to order it online to get the shells from the other side of the store. I refused that nonsense and finally she walked across the room to get the soft shells. It was so unnecessary and not the way to earn customer loyalty, especially after standing in line for 30minutes!

I had a pretty disappointing experience at the Chipotle in Brighton. My boyfriend and I went in…read moreyesterday, and the place was very messy--there weren't any clean tables available, so we had to wipe one down ourselves just to sit. I do want to say that I understand it was very busy, and I know how hard it can be to keep up with cleanliness during a rush like that. I also noticed that several staff members were clearly trying their best and working hard, which I definitely appreciated. However, what really made the experience frustrating was the service we received with our online order. We had placed it about 30 minutes before arriving, yet we were the last people served. Everyone who was in line after we got there received their food before us, which didn't make much sense. When we went up to ask about our order, the employee preparing it was very rude and dismissive. She was making snarky comments about other staff right in front of us, and when she saw our order--which was just a simple burrito and a bag of chips--she rolled her eyes and threw her hands up like we were a huge inconvenience. I completely understand that working during a rush can be overwhelming and frustrating, but all I ask is that employees don't take that out on customers--especially not in such an obvious way when we're standing right there. It made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Even after all of this, I stayed polite and even was kind enough to tell the rude employee, "no rush!!", but the overall experience left a bad impression. Between the cleanliness issues, the long wait despite ordering ahead, and the poor customer interaction, it wasn't a great visit.
