Great spot! Cozy and fun small bar with super creative, one-of-a-kind drinks--all with a clever touch of "sage." We've been here a couple of times now and every visit has been excellent. The staff are always incredibly friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. Definitely a favorite for unique cocktai

Always good vibes in Rosedale at Sagebrush. Service is outstanding, drinks are perfectly crafted, and now there's even Caram3lo snacks next door from time to time. Cocktails are always on point, but I usually can't say no to the "Small Fire", which is a small chela and your choice of a pour of tequila or mezcal.

Found this spot from visiting the neighboring coffee shop and from the recommendation of some friends. Such a cool spot in KCK and much needed in the area! Love the desert vibes and mood lighting; a majority of the space is at the bar, which is great. This is so helpful for getting drink recs, watching drinks get made, and hanging out. It made for a great date-night spot for my husband and I. We had the Sagebrush and an Old Fashioned. Both were unique! The old fashioned was bourbon forward but my husband enjoyed. The Sagebrush had sorbet added and a jalepeno type foam added on top that added a kick to balance the orange and guava Snacks are available at the bar, if you need a little something to snack on while sipping. The menu and concept does come from the owners of the Campground, so the drinks are well thought out, unique, and expertly crafted.

10/10 - this is SUCH a great cocktail bar. The drinks were great, the bartender was so friendly and helpful, and the vibes were so good. We had the whole place to ourselves because of the weather and felt like VIPs! I can't wait to go back.

From the second we sat down the owner, Chris, was amazing. He was welcoming, his drinks were awesome, and the vibe in this place is really cool. I don't drink and really enjoyed the Agua Fresca. My wife had an old fashioned she said was delicious. I highly recommend this bar for a relaxed date night or a before/after dinner cocktail. We look forward to going back!

service was great, really intimate place with great vibes and drinks. a couple tables inside not too loud was perfect for the girls and I to have a nice chat after work!

i have really enjoyed going to sagebrush. the vibes are great and the drinks are greater. there's a limited selection of cocktails to choose from which is a good thing because they're really good. if you're unsure about what to pick, the mixologist will get you right and get you with something you'll enjoy. the service is great! there's always some music going on the vinyl player. they choose some good music. it's never too loud. this is a great option to start off a date night or night on the town. access to crossroads and downtown is optimal.

Fun new spot in KCK. Created by the geniuses behind The Campground so you know it's going to be good. Simple but delicious cocktails. Tiny little spot tucked on an unassuming street. Well done Sagebrush!

The space is smallish but they do have bar seating in addition to seating throughout. The service was friendly and the drinks were great. They don't offer food, but they do offer cocktails, beer, wine, and mocktails. I went on a Sunday and they have a special menu called "Almost Monday." It's a smaller, simpler cocktail menu and the prices are very fair compared to other cocktail spots. I tried the Caipirinha (pineapple) and the Negroni sour. Both were good. My favorite between the two was the Negroni. It had a pretty color and wasn't too sour or strong. I'd def recommend it and get it again. Definitely stop in and check out this cute spot in Shawnee.

When you arrive there is parallel parking available outside the bar. When you walk in you'll feel like your bright, vibrant, and feels incredibly welcoming. Also, they have some really fun drinks as well that have been thoughtfully put together. We ended up sitting at the bar and I started with the Reformed Porn Star (vanilla vodka, bronson's tropical milk punch, passion fruit, Prosecco, citric acid and popping boba) which was by far my favorite drink and felt like I could have drank a couple more of these. Second I tried the Neo Cosmo (white rum, strawberry, cacao, coconut, rose hip, lime, bubble) which was good and was a fun drink with an ice cream shaped cup and a bubble on the top (meant to look like an ice cream cone). If you are in the area, this bar is a must try, the bartenders were awesome and took good care of us. Between the creative cocktails, fun atmosphere, unique floral setting, this was a memorable experience I'd definitely return for.

It was adorable and the drinks were divine. Around Christmas they do a popup bar and in 2025 it was themed around a ski lodge. We tried to versions of the old fashioned on the menu and though we did like one over the other both were well balanced cocktails. After we ordered our libations the bartender suggested we head upstairs where it was less crowded and it was so cozy we felt like we were in someone's living room. Another couple joined us and we ended up having such a lovely conversation with them, chatting all about our favorite hot spots in Kansas City (gotta love KC pride). Just a note this is a slightly hidden speakeasy inside a pizza place, you need to have a password but it's easily found on their social media pages- just check Instagram. On our way out we decided to get a slice of pie (pizza pie that is) to balance out all that whiskey we washed down. I believe the one we got to go was called The Bee-sting, it had pepperoni and hot honey and though it was simple it hit the spot after a night of imbibing. I would most definitely revisit common tiger even without the winter aesthetic.

It's not the biggest spot but I think they utilized the space well. It wasn't super crowded when I went but I wouldn't be surprised if it gets busy and crowded quickly. The vibe was Disco. And it was disco balls everywhere which I don't hate. It was fun and on brand. Everyone was nice and the place was clean. You can also get pizza. A few looked intriguing but I had just eaten. So another time. My only issue with the space is that I think it closely neighbors the kitchen. It was quite hot inside. To be fair, it was a hot day but still. I tried the Running of the Bullshit: blanco tequila, pineapple, lime, and smoked honey. It was good. The smoked honey was a tad overpowering but overall not bad. I'd probably opt for a different cocktail next time. I had a sip of the watermelon moonshine: blanco tequila, watermelon, grenadine, lemon, luxando, plum bitters, and topo Chico. It was watermelon! But it was good. Very refreshing. Both cocktails were very visually appealing with fun accessories and accents. Definitely check them out!

There is a brilliant, transportive alchemy at work here, transforming a casual stroll through our neighborhood into a deliberate departure from the ordinary, where the modern world gently recedes into the background. The atmosphere is utterly on point, evoking the hauntingly beautiful, slow-burning elegance of a French colonial-era brasserie tucked away in the humid heart of Southeast Asia. That changed yesterday, when Diana Condori, the bar manager, was named a 2026 James Beard Outstanding Professional in Cocktail Service semifinalist. As we love supporting restaurants and bars that receive that kind of recognition, my wife and I headed to Fern Bar that evening. I was especially curious what exactly a "sugarcane and agave bar" meant. We arrived around 5:30pm and found only a handful of guests inside. After congratulating the bartender who first served us, he mentioned that Diana was working that night and would stop by to meet us. During our conversation, Diana shared that she didn't even know she had been nominated. She woke up Tuesday to a call from owner Bryan Arri, who said he had big news and was coming over. Her first thought was that something terrible had happened--like the bar had burned down. Instead, he showed up with coffee and told her she was a James Beard honoree. Diana is originally from Bolivia and has lived in Kansas City most of her life, with the exception of time spent in San Francisco during the pandemic. She further refined her cocktail craft through local pop-ups in Kansas City under the name Condor's Cove. When Bryan was preparing to open Fern Bar, he reached out to bring her onto the team. The printed cocktail menu immediately reminded me of the Monarch and the Mercury Room--not surprising given Bryan's background at Manifesto and the Monarch. Thoughtful, intentional, and clearly designed for people who appreciate serious cocktails. We planned on having one or two drinks but ended up staying for three, thanks to an outstanding lineup and a memorable conversation with Diana. We tasted: * No Fly Zone - Rum, agave, pineapple foam * Mr. Collage - Smooth, elegant, egg-white cocktail * Three Negroni Lunch - Bitter, boozy, and beautifully balanced * Pendergast No. 4 - Complex and spirit-driven * It's Bananas - Banana liqueur with bright tropical notes * Off the Rails - Creative and well-executed rum/agave cocktail One downside of many cocktail-forward bars is the lack of food, but Fern Bar offers two varieties of mini burritos for $4--just enough protein to keep things balanced while indulging. Great concept, exceptional service, and truly memorable drinks. Check it out--and be sure to say hello to Diana.
