My first visit to the Primrose AND it was decorated for Christmas. Bonus points! Met up her with friends for a few cocktails and was not disappointed. Between the group of us, we sampled a variety of Christmas cocktails. On the whole, we were all quite pleased with our choices though there were a few that weren't our favorite. Of the seasonal cocktails, the Navidad Jalisco and Deck the Palms were two of our favorites! Service was a tad slow but to be fair it was quite busy! Not an empty seat inside or on the patio. Would definitely recommend!
I happened upon this little cocktail bar by complete accident. I was at another business and walked by so I had to check it out. It was a nice night so I opted to sit outside. They have a cute little patio area that is somewhat enclosed so there is some privacy from people walking by. They have some nice shrubbery and light at night so the ambiance is lovely. The service was great. Everyone was nice and professional. I had the Le Petite Goat: Hennessy, lime, blackberry liqueur, and a goat cheese ball. It was so good. I wish it was bigger because I could drink a few of these. It was bright and tangy and everything just went so well together. They have several other tasty looking cocktails but they also have mocktails and light bar snacks. Definitely check them out if you're in the Mission area.
The Primrose has a great, chill atmosphere and very interesting drinks. The bartenders regularly change up the menu and often take great car to ensure the drinks are made well and properly garnished. I really loved the lemon meringue inspired drink, and found the watermelon matcha drink to be an interesting combination.
A gem in downtown Mission. I kinda don't want to tell you guys how good it was since it's just down the street from my place... but I want them to stay in business so I'll share it all! If you like Wild Child, but it's a bit too crowded for you then The Primrose is your spot. It's just a more comfortable experience! If you're solo, sit at the bar and chat with the crew. If you're in a group there are plenty of couches to take over. I felt like the drinks were fairly priced and the staff were happy to make recommendations. They also have a pretty impressive bar, so if you just want a standard cocktail like a martini or old fashion then you have that option. Mocktail recommendation: Blushing Bride! It did not disappoint! Favorite cocktail: Lavender Haze was the vote of our table! Light and refreshing, but it will get you there.
Went here with a group of 7 people and they were very accommodating to our party. It was an hour wait, but they recommended we visit their speakeasy next door while we waited for our table. The service was great and I loved their selection of cocktail drinks. I got the dragons house cocktail and it was the perfect mixture of sweet and tangy!

In a city with a growing list of cocktail bars, the pressure and competition is on. I would love if the Primrose would hone in on their identity. For example, the music selection felt a little random (throwback hits?) and a little out of place. Not sure if that's just because it was a quieter weeknight. But with the price of the cocktails and overall aesthetic of the interior, I expected either top hits (trendy) or something that fit the personality of the bar a bit more. Setting the mood. Additionally, I was surprised the menu didn't list the spirit brands. With most of their signature cocktails priced at $14+, guests like to know the spirit brand. Come to find out, most of their spirits are local! Which, to me, makes the cocktails more worth the price and make me more inclined to order another! Add the local spirit brands to the menu - because a lot of people aren't going to go out of their way to ask.

They have unique cocktail menu that we look forward to returning and trying out more concoctions! Our waitress was friendly and attentive and it was clean with attractive decor. It has seating indoors and some patio seating as well. The music was the perfect level and fit the atmosphere of the place.

The space is a bit small, but there are a variety of seating options - a half dozen or so seats at the bar, couches, arm chairs, and small tables. The menu features a handful of fun seasonal cocktails along with "Signatures", "Classics", and even an impressive set of "Mocktails". I ordered the About Damn Thyme cocktail {vodka, early grey, lemon, club soda} for $11 off the "Signatures" section. Overall, great first impression - excited to return!
creative seasonal cocktails and i love the illustrations on the menu! the osaka bayside was probably my favorite, and I was skeptical about the sweet pea but impressed at how refreshing it was. cozy little space, and super friendly bartender. the le petite goat could've used a little more punch, but overall a great local spot.
Really neat little place.. simple food like a charcuterie board and spinach dip. Drinks were amazing everything you could ever imagine incredible combinations they really take pride and effort.. see their website for waitlist and reservations because the place is really small. Just moved to the neighborhood and so enjoyed being able to pop in to a cozy, trendy, welcoming cocktail spot on my way to dinner - no reservation needed. The ambience was excellent, they've taken care to make it cozy and elevated. The drinks were fresh, cold and well mixed. The menu had so much to choose from, but I loved my selection so much I chose it twice - Lonesome Crowded Midwest, full of the freshest summer flavors (cucumber, mint, lime) and topped with a generous amount of lime zest that made it an aromatic experience alongside a tart and refreshing taste. Will be trying the bites on my next visit! read more
An upscale bar in a somewhat small space with a nice outdoor patio that serves primarily cocktails! What they do right is craft some unique flavored cocktails and create a fun atmosphere to get together with a small group of friends. The space can get a little noisy inside when it's full, we also didn't have the best service either, it's pretty clear they were busy however 20+mins without a drink was disappointing. read more

I love the Primrose! The atmosphere is great, it's cozy but upscale, and still super welcoming. I love their themed drinks and decor, and the drinks have always been delicious. Their spicy margaritas is one of my favorites! read more

the gals and I needed a quick drink after work and we found this gem! kinda tucked away between a couple other places on johnson drive! reallyyyy great drinks, this will definitely be our go to spot. not too big and has a few outside patio spots! read more

Cute bar here in mission. It our only cocktail bar on Johnson drive so glad it's here. For winter they have a speciality menu that if holiday themed. Drinks are good No wine or beer only liquor No food read more

What a cute and fun hidden gem (at least to me) for a girl's night! A friend had recommended this place and we were glad we went! The service and the drinks were equally fantastic! It was the most perfect patio weather day and we sat outside, but there was quite a bit of seating inside, too. Each drink is around $15. We tried an assortment of drinks off their summer cocktail menu and they didn't disappoint! My favorite was the Common Tiger. If you like a little spice and a Tajin rim, this is the drink for you! read more

They don't take reservations so we arrived early enough to be seated quickly. We were seated at a lovely marble-top 2-seater with comfortable seats (always a plus) and given still water. They have a QR code to access their menu which starts with their seasonal offerings accompanied with a cute drawn picture. I got the Persephone while my friend got the Crime of Passion. Both were well-made and refreshing. My friend got a second helping of the Crime of Passion, while I found one Persephone to be enough for me. I would definitely go back. read more

Absolutely beautiful here and the employees are wonderful. I always enjoy chatting with them. The drinks are great across the board and the seasonal drinks are always so fun. My favorite place in Mission. I always make sure to bring my friends from out of town here. Great for girls night or date night!!! A must!! read more

Tonight we came for the Valentine's menu, and I was at Common Tiger last week for the last weekend of the Winter drink menu, and I loved the lemony drink, can't remember the name. Another cocktail bar you need to visit and this one is in Mission. @theprimrosemission is a must. Service is kind, space is warm and welcoming, and the drinks are well crafted. We went specifically because the birthday girl loves an egg white cocktail and The Primrose met all expectations. Other favorites were the Mission Boulevardier and Miel y Humo. read more

This little gem just popped up in our neck of the woods and it's a a vibrant spot in Mission, Kansas. You won't find a food menu here (although there may be a food truck outside in the area), but the elevated cocktails are fun and the atmosphere is lively and cozy. Our group tried quite a few things. Their signature Primrose, Urban Prairie Cold Brew Martini, About Damn Thyme, Apple Strudel Martini, Autumn Harvest Punch, and the Havana Halloween. They do also have a small selection of wine if cocktails aren't your thing. All the cocktails were delicious. My personal favorite was the About Damn Thyme. Very festive and creative! Welcome to the area Primrose. What a fun place to meet for an after dinner drink (or two)! read more
So happy to see this open in Mission. And right next-door to the brewery so it's a great spot to hit before or after. Finally was able to pop in here one night for a drink. And not a day too late because I was able to see their Christmas Decour. I loved it. The drink was delicious and the service was great. I will definitely be back and bringing friends. The only thing I would do is maybe turn down the lights just a tad for intimacy in certain areas, but this could be from the Christmas lights decor adding more light. read more
This place continues to be my ABSOLUTE favorite cocktail bar in KC! I bring all of my friends and family whenever I get the chance to. We have been so many time the last few months the bartenders are remembering us hahaha. All their cocktails are ideas from their own personal staff, so feel free to ask about them because they love to explain why and how each individual cocktail is concocted. There isn't a ton of seating options but they have expanded out front with a cute lit patio area. The inside has a dark aesthetic and makes you feel all cozy as if you are in someone own lovely home sipping on a glass of happiness. read more

What a hidden gem! My sister and I stopped on Johnson Dr. to check out another spot, but couldn't resist stopping in to the Primrose as we walked by. The door was open, music was playing, and it just beckoned to us. We were pleasantly surprised to find this stylish cocktail bar in the heart of Johnson County. Clearly, the people of Johnson County were hungry for something like this - every seat was filled and there was a short wait. The Primrose has seating along the window that is perfect for people waiting for a table - and they'll serve you there. While I wanted a mocktail, they were missing ingredients for 2 of the 3 mocktails on the menu, but they offered an alternative - an almond lemonade, that was very tasty. Service was fantastic. Our waitress was kind and attentive, and the bartenders were flashy and skilled. There were all sorts of smells and noises to take in - they were smoking rosemary, setting things on fire, etc., all in a very cozy, intimate environment. Overall - highly recommend checking this fun, new place out! read more

My friend and I stopped by for some cocktails after dinner (Karma has good sushi down the street). It is a small location we waited about 20 minutes to get seated. Staff was very friendly and attentive. I really liked the atmosphere-it was warm and cozy. I ordered the Larkspur and Aloe Refresher, both were great- I would recommend.
