Took the wife here for lunch today. I had the Pho Beef bowl, House Fried rice, a Vegetable egg roll and ice water. Wife had Egg drop soup, Hot tea, Hunan Pork/w rice, and an egg roll. We were the only ones there, during a snow storm, but the wait staff was a little slow. Nice asian vibe though. The food was outstanding. I typically get takeout from here - they usually quote 25mins but I've learned to show up around 35-40 mins after I call. That's the only downside but the food is consistently great! My fav is the VN-10 and dumplings. The dumplings (or some other places call them potstickers) have a thicker dough which leads me to believe they're homemade. Pepper chicken and orange chicken are also delicious. If you eat in, don't expect anything fancy - it's definitely a "hole in the wall" which in my opinion, always have the best food! Decided to change things up & try this restaurant (i.e. my usual go-to Vietnamese restaurant was closed). Ihad my standard fare of spring rolls & a bun bowl with eggrolls. I was not disappointed, the food was very good. The service was also very friendly. But the prices are significanlty higher than other places, but that also maybe a wash depending on how far you have to drive. So you may have a usual spot, but I think variety & choices are good things. Recommended! read more

Reminds me of the food I ate when living in Southeast Asia . The family that owns the restaurant are friendly, the service is great and the prices very reasonable. My favorite boy is almost in kindergarten and we both needed a pho fix- meatball for him, rare beef and tendon for me and OMG. Service is lovely, and polite- something I don't expect but our server ( who probably owns the place) was sweet although disbelieving that my five year old wanted pho on a 90 degree day! Ok. Pho with beef and tendon- I've never eaten tendon before but it was awesome- chewy, fatty and satisfying. Definitely recommend. The broth is saltier than some other places, but not too much. Not underseasoned The folks behind us in the dining room were RAVING about the house chop suey. The restaurant is clean, bathrooms are fine, and the location isn't great, but two adults could get in and out for about 25$ and I'm cool with that. We were hesitant to come here because of the bad reviews, but my wife wanted a Vietnamese vermicelli bowl and this was the only place open. We were very pleasantly surprised. The lady who seated us and took our order was very sweet and helpful. We had a nice conversation about where we were from and other Vietnamese places we had been to in town and where I could get a good lychee drink. My wife LOVES Vietnamese vermicelli bowls, we have been to a number of places in several different states, and we had just been to another restaurant in Sioux Falls where she definitely did not like the vermicelli. However, she said the one she had here was one of her favorites so far. I cannot vouch for all their other food, but I had the sweet and sour chicken and thought it was very good! The restaurant was also very clean and I enjoyed the atmosphere. Over all, not sure why this place has so many bad reviews. Would definitely come back. read more

The coffee was terrible, the food was nothing much in the way of flavor, and the experience was not unique, exciting, enriching, or anything you can't get at a dirty food truck. Excellent Chinese food. Never have tried the Vietnamese food, because I don't know what to order. But the sesame chicken, generals chicken, chicken fried rice are second to none. Then there are the egg rolls, which are so good I can't go without having at least two (or more). Only thing I can think of to make this place better would be to have a buffet. read more

I fell for the 4 stars.. I highly regret not looking closer at the reviews. We ordered the family meal and were greeted with a pile of fried wontons and egg roll each, including a bowl of egg drop soup. Any egg drop soup I've ever has had a watery texture, but this was a jelly substance that tasted like dirty socks . We didn't even bother eating the wontons, and the egg rolls were pure oil. Our main course of Kung Pow chicken tasted like a cheap frozen meal that was just doused with sugar and salt. By the end of the meal my wife was sick to her stomach and I had this tingling pressure in the muscles in my face, chest, and arms -- like nothing I've ever felt before. The service was also less than stellar. We were one of 2 couples in the place, and our waitress forgot our waters twice while she chatted with the cook in the kitchen. The best part of this place is the food. When we arrived to the empty restaurant, we were seating right away but waited a good 5-10 minutes before anyone came to take an order. We ordered all food right away, including a kids meal for my 3 year old, and that did end up coming first. He was able to finish his entire meal before we got ours - and he's a picky/slow eater. Once our food did arrive, between the 3 adults we finished off the rice with half of our entrees left but were not offered any more. We tried here for the first time today. I was optimistic due to the reviews, but we were relatively disappointed. The service was pretty poor and the food was just OK. We waited for over 10 minutes before we were even asked for a drink order (we had thought about leaving...perhaps we should have), and food took terribly long to be prepared. A cup of soup took close to a half hour, spring rolls took over 40 minutes, and entrees took another 10-15 minutes after that. The restaurant wasn't even busy - we were one of three tables seated. We hoped the food would reflect the preparation time, but it did not. My wife said her soup was "ok", but she's has better. My spring rolls weren't very great - they were pretty gummy and seemed to consist of 99% bean sprouts. The entrees weren't bad - my wife's Mongolian Beef tasted good and my pho dac biet was also pretty good. Our opinion was definitely most affected by the waiting time. If we didn't have to wait for so long, we may have thought better of the visit. For how long we waited, however, the food unfortunately wasn't worth it. read more

While I love Sioux Falls, its sad that the best Chinese food is usually Hy-Vee. Sai Gon Panda is great. Excellent Vietnamese and really nice people. This place rules! Yes, the decor is dated, but who cares when the food tastes this amazing. Their egg rolls and crab rangoon are so good I sometimes get just that for lunch. I really love the Pho and always have. I ordered curry chicken, got it home and it was super thick and gravy like and did not taste like curry at all. I called and said I think my order was mixed up and I did not receive curry like I asked for. The woman said "yes you got curry". I said I have been eating curry for a long time and this didn't taste like it at ALL. She asked if I was Chinese and I replied no I am not. She then asked if I was of Asian decent, and I told her no was not, but I know what Curry tastes like and this was NOT it. She repeatedly told me that I didn't know the difference between Chinese and Vietnamese curry and that my order was right and she has been serving the dish for 13 years without one complaint. First I am offended that she was questioning my race, and secondly of not knowing what curry tastes like! Its unfortunate that they lack customer service skills and didn't even offer to make the dish I wanted. I will NEVER order from them again, and I will tell all of my friends to do the same. read more

Terrible service. Seemed to have no interest in doing business. When I called to inquire about delivery the woman who answered the phone wouldn't tell me if they served Pho until I'd told her how many entrees I planned to order. I told her there were 2 of us and she stated that she "wasn't going to bring just 2 entrees over to the west side." She'd not asked me where I was so I've no idea how she came to the "west side" conclusion. When I gave her the address of our hotel, it was determined that we're actually much closer to her than she thought. Her response was, loud sigh, followed by, "Uhhh... I'll do it for $35." Really?
