    Mongolian Beef Dinner

Pepper Asian Bistro is a Denver staple! I've been ordering take out from here for years, and I finally decided to dine in. The food was just as good, if not better dining in. The service was great, everyone was super friendly and attentive. We were seated and served very quickly. I was curious how portions would compare to take out, and they were just as big if not a little bigger. There's plenty of seating - the space is bigger than I expected. There's a bar area to sit at as well. There's a parking lot in the back. This place never disappoints.

Wow. Let me start by saying that the hot and sour soup is hands down the BEST I've ever had. We also ordered a cup each and not a bowl, and it was a large cup!! Portion sizes are large here! We also ordered the cheese Rangoons and those were super yummy. No crabby flavor which I like :) For our entree, we got the general tso's chicken. It was yummy, crispy, and saucy! Service was fast and attentive. We were able to sit down right away even on a Saturday night. You have to try this place! I see why people love it :)

Always have such an amazing time here. The food is always on point. The dishes are huge servings. Everything comes out hot and fresh tasting and very timely. The service is amazing and the people are so kind and helpful. Crystal and I both love coming here. It's near our neighborhood and we love walking here! We have also gotten take out and delivery and our favorite is to sit in and eat. We indulge in some cocktails at times but they also have plenty of NA options as well. The chicken fried rice is our favorite in town. Drunken noodles are always a classic here and any of the steak and veggie dishes. Honestly everything we can has always been really excellent here. And you can order different spice levels according to your preferences!

Pepper is always a must when we have guests visiting. This was my first time at this location and WOW I felt like it was such a fancy restaurant vs the Colfax location. I did not get the name of our sweet server but she was professional, knowledgeable and caring. The food is beyond!! I literally can taste the drunken noodles. The portions are huge so there is no doubt you can enjoy your leftovers the following day for lunch. What really amazed us was the foot traffic for takeaway meals. The entire bar was lined with takeaways the entire time we enjoyed our dinner. The mints at the counter are a must as well. Pepper never lets you down.

We were very impressed by our to go dishes! Everything was packaged nicely and was still hot by the time we got it home. We got the drunken noodles and General Tsos chicken. My husband got both medium, but the drunken noodles leaned more hot, and the Tsos chicken leaned more mild. My husband doesn't care for broccoli, so they did extra peppers and that was perfect. They did mention it is cheaper to order to go through them rather than grub hub, so something to keep in mind. Overall I was impressed and this will definitely be our new Chinese food go to.

We had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. The hostess greeted us in the most friendly way, our server was super nice and attentive and the food was excellent. The place is tastefully decorated with clean restrooms. There's a decent size parking lot with plenty spots that were available on a weekday.

10/10. We selected this restaurant based off of Yelp reviews once we landed in Denver for a family vacation. The service was very good. The ambiance was a casual seating environment. We ordered several dishes to share family style: hot and sour soup, Kung Pao chicken, Hunan chicken, and Spicy Chicken with Basil. All were wonderfully prepared and we finished every single dish! This was a great start to our trip in Denver. Especially with the cold temperatures, the food from Pepper Asian Bistro II was hearty and filling.

i LOVE pepper. i always have such a great experience here. i have ordered takeout here for years and have dined in a couple of times now. my friend and i popped in for lunch. parking lot + street parking. seated immediately. chicken dumplings in hot sauce are phenomenal. lunch specials came with a side, so i had sesame chicken + hot and sour soup + steamed rice. my friend had chicken & broccoli + fried rice + egg rolls. every single thing was fantastic! I've had many of their beef noodle dishes, beef and broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, lettuce wraps, cream cheese wontons, the list goes on. I've yet to be disappointed. they've got lots of seating and bar space. i imagine it gets busier on the weekends but for the most part, its been really chill and has quick service. i am a huge fan!!!!

Kinda low key spot that turned out to be great! Open late, humble decor, and attentive service, the menu includes a wide variety of rice, noodle, and curry dishes. Initially I thought it would be mediocre quality but I ordered a very tasty drunken noodle was very decently priced with a large serving. I always rave about any spots that serve Thai with mango sticky rice, which was a fantastic end to the meal. Lovely spot for a Thai craving late at night

    Crystal R.

Continues to be one of my absolute favorite places to eat. Such flavorful dishes. Large quality while not compromising quality! Love that you can change the spice levels. Great cocktails too and always always always the best service!

The chicken soup dumplings, pork potstickers, and the ice cream was all very good! I wasn't such a huge fan of the tufu pork belly noodles. I'm not really a fan of tofu but I didn't really like the noodle dish in general. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful and well designed. The wait staff was also very friendly. I would like to come back here and try more items from their regular menu.

Lately it feels like a lot of restaurants are charging more while giving less, and it's getting harder to find places that actually care about the customer experience. Unfortunately, this was another one of those experiences. We ordered three side dishes and three drinks, and the bill came out to around $100. Two of the three sides were served cold, the dumplings at least came out hot, but they were pretty mediocre and nothing I'd order again and drinks were extremely over priced. The waitress was fine, no real issues there, but it did feel like the food may have been sitting in the kitchen too long before it hit the table even though the place was empty. At the end of the day, it's hard to justify paying that kind of money for cold, underwhelming food, then feeling awkward about the tip because the experience just wasn't good. I won't be back. If I had known this is what the experience was I would have definitely gone somewhere else. As an added bonus I felt like crap afterwords, I think it was because of poor quality ingredients. My aim in writing these reviews is to highlight the restaurants and businesses that truly take care of their customers, to give people a heads up about the ones that clearly do not prioritize quality or the customer experience, and to express myself in a world where it often feels like there is very little room to speak honestly about paying top dollar for mediocre experiences. Very disappointing.

The shumai and pork buns came out first and really heightened our expectations. Both were delicious. The sauce that came with the shu mai is one of my favorites that I have ever tried. The pork buns are served with a spicy sauce which my dad liked but I decided to pass on. After that, we continued to get more and more disappointed. The Kung Pao Shroom Trio was not our favorite. The sauce on top was lacking and this dish really needs some protein. We also did not enjoy the cheeseburger dumplings. They did not have any cheese in them and the spicy mustard on top did not go with what we felt like the theme of the dish should be. I will say that every dish has great presentation. When we went, it was late. However, none of the servers seemed extremely interested in helping and they would drop items and quickly leave before you could say anything. They do have an online order and pay system which is really nice and the food comes out quickly. They do keep your sodas filled. The ambiance is definitely more bar like (again, makes sense since it was late) since they have a bar upstairs. Not a place for kids. We would come again for some shu mai and pork buns, but that's all.

Having champagne waiting at the table was such a great touch and set the tone for the night. We went with a chef's choice experience and every course was thoughtful, creative, and incredibly well executed. The surprises throughout the meal and the complimentary dishes made it feel even more special. The wagyu on the hot stone was easily the best thing I have eaten in my 36 years. What really made the night unforgettable was the team. They gifted us a cookbook signed by everyone with a beautiful message, which meant a lot to us. This is a night we will be talking about for a very long time. Thank you to the entire Uchi team for such an incredible experience.

Uchi is dangerous for people like me…read more Not because of the raw fish. Because the place understands seduction. I've been eating at Uchi since it opened in Denver and today it still carries that same intoxicating balance of precision, warmth, swagger, and restraint. The room itself glows instead of shouts. Wood slats divide the dining room into little private theaters while the sushi counter hums with focused choreography. Expert hands moving constantly. Rice. Fish. Quiet communication. Tiny acts of discipline repeated hundreds of times a night. I sat down intending to have a civilized happy hour. That plan lasted maybe twelve minutes. The kurodai crudo arrived first. Gooseberry, leche de tigre, candied garlic. Bright, sharp, and alive. This is the kind of starter that wakes up your entire palate and you are reminded that you will absolutely be spending more money than originally intended. Next was the bincho temaki: cool albacore, kimchi, avocado, and a vividly garish orange sauce with some heat to keep the richness from becoming too much. Uchi understands something many restaurants don't: luxuriousness needs balance. Fatty fish without acid, spice, crunch, or brightness is palate exhaustion. And then one after another the deliciousness continued: the oysters were cold and perfect with cucumber, calamansi vinegar, and umeboshi. The day boat scallop nigiri nearly stopped time altogether. Just sweet scallops, rice, citrus, a little finishing salt. Incréable. Or whatever the French word is for "I briefly forgot my own name." And somewhere during martini number one, the staff adopted me. Apparently Uchi keeps notes on guests. Mine, I was told, says I'm "nice and a good eater," which may be the most flattering thing anyone has said to me in months. Suddenly more dishes started appearing. Gifted nigiri. Ikura glowing like little amber jewels (my favorite). A ridiculous and completely delicious carrot toro maki with green chili crunch and enough heat underneath the richness to make the whole thing flirt openly with your mouth. At one point the bartenders literally invented a "walu walu shot" on the fly just because the mood had drifted into improvisational chaos. This was somewhere between oyster shooter, seafood dare, and excellent bad decisions. Meanwhile, the guests next to me started talking to me and the entire energy of the evening shifted into communal sushi-bar joy. Suddenly we were all reacting to dishes, laughing, comparing bites, participating in the same ecosystem of salt, fish, alcohol, and temporary human connection. This is the real thing Uchi sells. Not merely sushi. Attention. Rhythm. Atmosphere. Memory. The feeling of being folded into a beautifully functioning machine dedicated entirely to pleasure. And yes, by the end I was emotional enough to remember being 20 years old eating sushi with an older woman named Alana who wore real fur and introduced me to this whole sensual adult world in the first place. That is what a martini and exceptional nigiri will do to a man. The final bill before tip was somehow only $141, which honestly feels mathematically impossible considering I briefly entered a spiritual relationship with the sushi counter. I tipped $50 because at that point we were basically family. Uchi remains one of the sexiest restaurants in Denver. Not performatively sexy. Not influencer sexy. Actually sexy. Confident. Observant. Generous. Precise. And just dangerous enough to make you order one more thing. Amazing dining experience.

We ordered way to much food but I do not regret that because I got to try so many amazing dishes. Despite ordering so many options they even brought us a chilled tofu dish complimentary (no clue why but not complaining) and it was lovely! We shared the uncle salad (amazing!), thai shrimp, eggplant buns, several different nigiri/aburi nigiri and sashimi and the toro toro and spicy tuna roll. My typical go to is on of the salad. Now salads typically are not standout at most restaurants, but the ones at Kawa Ni just hits different. Both the red cabbage and pear salad and the brocolli salad are delicious and the portion is massive, easily enough for a table of 4 to share. For apps and shareable entrees, you can't go wrong here. The build your own tuna temaki hand rolls can easily be shared and the tuna is so fresh and well seasoned. The szechuan dumplings are delicious, as is the curry onigiri and the bao bun. The Dan Dan noodle, kimchi Carbonara, and their tonkotsu ramen are also amazing, and, with the exception of the tonkotsu ramen, can easily be shared. I would highly recommend other seasonal dishes as well, such as the coconut swordfish or chicken katsu parm. However, one of my absolute favorite dish here is the ochazuke. It's basically grilled fish over rice in a warm green tea dashi. It's so comforting, especially on a cold night, and a dish that I return to time and time again.
