Tried the banh mi , was excited to try the pork belly but it was meh. The bread was also a disappointment because it was not nice and fresh as it should be for banh mi sandwiches. Nothing really stood out in the sandwich, it was bland and the pork belly had mild flavor, overall it was a disappointment. Saigon Bistro is incredibly cute and has great service. Unfortunately, i have a few bones to pick with the menu. Would gladly come back to give them another chance, because i can see the potential and want to try a few more items. Now, onto the good stuff. Greeted nicely and was handed hot tea. Love that. Usually you have to ask, but not here. props for that. Viet wings were good. Theyre on the small side, if im being honest. However, theyre cooked well and flavor is killer. i love the crunch to them and theyre not too messy. Veggie pho with veggie broth. I know traditional is beef and i took a gamble here, but the broth was just incredibly bland. ive had plenty of veggie stock pho that hit the spot, but here it was just so bland. I had to spicy it up with the chilli sauce and hoison. not good. the dessert. this just lost me. i was so let down here. the sweet corn pudding had a few issues with it. it was basically rice pudding, with maybe 8 corn kernals thrown in there. im not a chef, but it seemed like the corn was not cooked with the pudding. the corn was not sweet and neither was the rice pudding itself. it truly tasted like the corn was thrown on top. Also, the coconut sauce on top was not sweet. again, it tasted like it was poured on top and didnt blend with the pudding. read more

I ordered for pick up and the process was seamless. The food was ready when I arrived. I got the beef and brisket pho. While the broth of the pho was flavorful, the portion size here has sadly shrunk. My recent order of the beef & brisket pho contained 5 short pieces of thin, sliced beef and small handful of noodles. The pho broth was a more reasonable size, which was a saving grace. The latest 2 pictures are my most recent order of pho and spring roll while the other 2 pictures are my order from last year for comparison. A little disappointed! read more

I don't know what happened but today I ordered a take out for pho and the portion is the smallest portion I ever had, across different pho restaurants. Their previous portion is not that bad before. In other restaurant, 2 pho portions can feed 3 of us. Furthermore, the beef meat is already cooked where usually, is left raw for take out. Even the bean sprout portion is small and they didn't give mint and basil leaves. In summary, meat ends up overcooked, incomplete and I am still hungry after the meal. Hence, only 2 star. Really great and friendly service! Came on a Sunday around dinner time and we were seated immediately. Pretty chill spot, only a few other groups in there and it was pretty quiet. Summer rolls were fantastic and refreshing. Pho was absolutely soul warming, really just lovely. Pleasantly surprised to find this place with delicious pho and banh mi. You wouldn't miss a lot if you skip the spring roll but I do like the banh mi. It's good. Service was also great, we came in around 3 pm where there's no crowd and the place is quiet and nice. I do recommend the grilled beef banh mi, the bread is lightly toasted and the grilled beef is tender and tasty. I remembered our host saying you can't go wrong with any banh mi filling you choose, so when I come back next time I will try a different one. read more

In my opinion, this is one of the staple Vietnamese spots in town. I usually get the beef cubes platter when I got to Vietnamese restaurants but this time I wanted to try their Pho. Boy.. This place made me fall in love with Pho again. The broth was so good and the meat was tender. There is plenty of seating inside or you can take out as well. My pho was really good. I've never had pho before but I enjoyed it. The portion for the price is great; I had enough for lunch for the next day! My fiancé enjoyed the curry noodles. Great authentic Vietnamese food amid the Bergen Lafayette neighborhood. I have had the Lemongrass soup on a couple of occasions and was not disappointed. The Ramen is great too. It comes with the traditional basil leaves, lime, and sprouts on the side. It is spicy, just the right amount. The ambience is cool and less common in this part of town. We like the Heights location. Wanted to try the new second spot. We came for an early dinner. Got seated right away. A lot of space and good decorations. We came here on the hottest of days, and the staff was very accommodating putting tables together for the large party we had. I had to get the Thai iced tea which did the job on a sweltering afternoon. Both the spring rolls and summer rolls were up to par - crunchy and tasty full of texture and flavors. Tastes good, but does not travel well via delivery. Summer rolls broke apart when I picked them up (the wrapper immediately ripped) Beef pho has amazing broth taste. However it has the beef slices already in the broth container so by the time it arrives it is overcooked and tough. I prefer other spots that have the raw slices in the noodle bowl and you pour the pho broth over it to cook the beef (how it's supposed to be). I would recommend dining in for this spot perhaps, but not order for delivery here. read more

The service was amazing, since it's a busy block and there's not parking I paid for my order and sat in my car letting the staff know I would be back to pick up my food. They were so kind, that when my order was ready they brought it out to me! I had the chicken pho and a Vietnamese coffee. The pho was delicious, the chicken was grilled and perfectly cooked. I asked for extra hoisin sauce and they were generous with that. The pho was flavorful and the coffee was so strong. My partner had the seafood noodle soup and his bowl was empty when he was done. The decor was simple but, if you've ever had Vietnamese street food on the street, this place would be a luxury. We had prompt service after we sat down. And our server was kind and attentive. The food was delicious and... girlfriend approved! I believe in supporting local, small businesses. If you're looking for an overpriced, stuffy, overdone decor restaurant, go to NYC! The only thing that keeps this from being a a five star review is the service: the young ladies are nice, but they spend their time at the counter on their phones rather than keeping an eye on the guests at the tables, often forgetful about bringing things to the table, and generally inefficient.
