Coming out of SF Supermarket, I wanted something and couldn't decide since it had been so long since I was in Modesto. They seemed extremely busy, especially with DoorDash or some other delivery service. Searching the menu, I didn't see a lot of VietNamese dishes. Many of the items seemed to be Chinese. I wanted some com dia. I ended up with Tofu with Vegetables and Rice. Considering how much I pay for a bowl of rice at a Chinese shop, getting more on the plate with the tofu and vegetables was a decent value. It wasn't tasty enough that I would go back in the same week. It's more of a McDonald's or Subway kind of food where it's reliable. Service was fine for being so busy. I'm not sure anyone had the energy to be really friendly. They were getting the job done.

Was in the area so decided to try this place. Tried the vermicelli bowl with beef and shrimp, fresh rolls and pho. The amount of meat served with my bowl was a small amount compared to the amount of noodles. The fresh rolls also had a lot of noodles in it. The pho was ok and could've used more flavor. Overall I would say the food was average but there's better Vietnamese food in the area. Service was ok and the restaurant was clean.

So I'm a regular here at Saigon restaurant whenever I need a pho/ soup fix. This place is located in the Lakes shopping center on Oakdale road and Floyd. I usually come once or twice a month here during lunch. If I had to say what most people order is the pho or other soups besides their rice dishes. Lunch can be busy and there's always people who order for pick up. So today, I ordered the wor won ton noodle soup and a Diet Coke. You have a choice of rice noodle (vermicelli clear noodle) or the egg noodle (yellow, often same used for chow mein). I got the egg noodle and added the bean sprouts and peppers that is given prior to the soup arriving. It also has mint and a lemon but I opt not putting those. I add the plum sauce and sriracha for added flavor. I've been to a few other pho places but this one is close to my office and they know me there. Don't even need a menu and the lady already knows my usual. Now service isn't anything great. They'll take your order but won't chit chat and they aren't one to smile, etc. That's okay with me as long as the food is good and it is. Place is clean. They sometimes have the tv on if you need something to watch. One thing I want people to know is they likely put MSG in their food and their soup. Way I know is that after a meal there, I develop a headache lol. So if you don't want MSG, either ask to not add or avoid going here. For me, it's still my go to place for lunch.

Food/Taste/Flavor: 4/5 - #9 of Large Pho with rare steak and tendon and #15 of Bun Bo Hue which is a spicy broth with beef and pork. Decent portion with clear pho soup but it was on the sweeter side. The spicy broth was our first time trying things like that and we enjoyed the flavor but it was quite oily. Service: 3/5 - very quick service and to the point so not friendly. First time so we didn't know you just walk up and tell them the table number to pay. Unfortunately, We couldn't tell if they were talking to us or at other workers some of the times. Ambiance: 3/5 - very compact store with sticky tables and condiments. Value for price: 5/5 - just under $15 per dish after tax which seems reasonable for the area and we enjoyed the food.

This is a solid place if you're in the mood for some pho. I was a bit overwhelmed with the menu, but other yelp reviews really convinced me to try the garlic chicken. The garlic chicken was amazing and next time I come here, I'll definitely be getting it again. The pho was good and so were the spring rolls.

This is a small restaurant that gets pretty packed quickly during dinner hours. Lots of parking since it's in a bigger shopping center. The food was very tasty and the portion sizes matched their prices very well. Their ice water is more like tap water so I strongly don't recommend that. I do prefer when restaurants have at least filtered water but that wasn't a big deal. The only reason why I marked them down was solely based on their customer service. Not bad service, but i feel they could have done way better. We were ready to order for a while. we made eye contact and even raised our hand so someone could take our order. Despite doing both, the worker just looked away and continued doing what they were doing. I thought maybe that wasn't that worker's role to take order, but eventually it was the same worker that finally took our order. Again, it wasn't too significant, but we definitely felt that we were ignored a bit.

Food is mediocre. Young guy waiter never bothered to check if customers were okay coz he was so busy talking to the other customer about sports. He also overcharged customers if you pay upfront so make sure you remember the price on the menu. read more

Love going here for lunch; BBQ pork & egg rolls are my favorite! Great people very attentive. Only reason I've given it a four instead of a five is because twice out of the seven times I've been there part of my rice is hard; or old tasting. But the other times have been great. read more

Like all new pho places, typically would start off very promising with good quality and good portion of pho noodles...now they skimp out of the quantity and still have the audacity to charge extra when ask for extra noodle due to barely getting any in the bow in the first place. read more

Best place to get amazing pho! My fiance and I have tried several different spots from Modesto to San Francisco and none of them compare to this spot! We are regulars here and the staff have even memorized our orders! The chicken pho, eggrolls, and thai tea is simply amazing! The service is friendly and the guy that always wears the vest is always friendly and outgoing. Highly recommend this spot to anyone who enjoys a great bowl of pho! 10/10 read more

I love getting my pho here it's better then many other places I've tried. They're food is good and prices are decent. They are fast at getting their food out. Had to ask several times for a refill on water and for napkins and that took them some time as well.Customer service is definently not a priority at this place. Overall good place to eat.also if you don't have cash you must spend more then $15 so they take your card payment. read more

The food here is the best Vietnamese food you will find in the local area. I want to make it clear that some of the issues people have here with costumer service are likely due to differences in cultural practices and perceptions. For me, the waiters being brief or not wanting to commit to banter does not equate to culture shock. It just means I get good food faster. I come here for the food. If what you are looking for is great food, you will not be disappointed. If you are looking to be pandered to by a waiter or waitress who expect a big tip, you won't find that here. With that said, I have always perceived the people as being friendly, especially after you become a regular customer. Friendly, however, is a relative term and might be interpreted totally different than how I see it. What matters is that their egg rolls are the bomb! read more

Ordered shrimp spring rolls with the peanut dipping sauce which was thick and not so tasty. I asked for no mint, cilantro instead and they put the whole stem of cilantro which was tough.. The lemon grass chicken was covered in this chalky feeling stuff, uck. The bbq pork chow mein was dry and tasteless but i managed to dr it up with soy and hot sauce. I called down there and asked why the cilantro stalks were in the spring rolls and she said thats how they do it, I repied there tough and bitter, not so good. And also the rest was not so good and we would'nt be returning. Back to Pho 7 next time. Would not recommend this place. read more

Fantastic place. Generous portions at really low prices. Staff is very friendly. The only complaint I have is they don't have a soda fountain and the soft drinks are limited to two choices. Other than that, it's a great spot for lunch. read more

The broccoli chicken here is amazing! I crave it constantly. The whole family loves the won ton soup and spring rolls! The service is fast, whether you're eating in or taking out and everyone is SO friendly. We got our take-out in less than 10 minutes and the place was packed with eat-in diners. read more

Always amazing food. The price point is fair and you get a good amount. We ordered take out grill pork verimicelli with chicken and egg rolls. All the food there are flavorful. We like to enjoy good Vietnamese food. This place is great because they close later than most pho place in Modesto. I will definitely recommend them for good pho and good food. If you are in the area spot in this place and enjoy good food. Friendly service and welcoming environment. They get really busy so keep that in mind. read more

Been wanting to come here for awhile, sister-in-law was saying how she wanted to try it since they opened not too long ago. After a long movie husband and I were starving for some good grub! The food was good. Husband got vermicelli with pork and shrimp, delicious! I got curry, Vietnamese style, it was spicy and had great flavor. Made my nose run! lol..at least it cleared up my sinus! Overall, I will come back, the service was prompt and fast, friendly. They came back to re-fill our waters. Thumbs up. read more

5 stars for the food, but 2 stars for the service. I rarely dine in and usually get my Pho to go, because the servers aren't friendly at all. But the pho is amazing, and the place is cleaner than other Vietnamese restaurants I've dined at. I recommend the beef ball pho and egg rolls. The price of the food is awesome as well. read more

In addition to authentic Vietnamese cuisine such as pho (noodle soup), com dia (rice plates), bun (vermicelli), bun bo hue (spicy beef noodle), we also serve dishes that utilize ingredients and are inspired by neighboring countries of China, Thailand, and Mongolia. The fresh and varied ingredients make Vietnamese food one of the healthiest in the world.

Since we didn't , we got seated on the bar which is fine. For it being in Modesto, they try to get the anime vibe with toys and anime art around. I'm no ramen expert but I've tried over a dozen ramen places in Tokyo, Vancouver, Japan town in LA, San Francisco, Oahu, Seattle just to name a few cities. So we got first the spicy garlic edamame. Not bad at all, had a kick to it and was edible. From a scale of 1 to 5. I'd give it a 5. For the main entree, I wanted the garlic tonkatsu but the waitress said they ran out.... Ok, for a Saturday night at 6 pm, running out of a ramen and they've been in business for several years now?!? never had that happen before in any ramen shop I've been to. So me and my wife both got the Ichiraku ramen which was a miso broth with pork belly. Price $23. I added 2 more pork belly at $5 more. Oh, the waitress mentioned no bamboo shoots and no fish cake........ ok, never had that happen before in a ramen shop. So while eating edamame, I kept track of how long it took we got our ramen.... It took 30 minutes before we got our ramen... definitely atypical to wait that long wait but I guess it's because they offer a lot of items besides ramen. Presentation was fine, the pork belly was seared on one side with a blow torch since I can taste that searing. . It just had green onions, 2 seaweeds and 2 soft boiled eggs which I was impressed the yolk wasn't overcooked. The noodles I chose was thin and was good with a soft texture. The miso broth was average Over all, it was an okay ramen. Me and my wife both didn't finish our bowls... definitely unusual since we love ramen but somehow, it didn't fulfill our satiety to finish and be content. I can tell you that of all the ramen places I've been to. This is average and doesn't compare to Ramen 101 in Modesto that I've ordered many times before my first time here. Sadly, I can only give it 3 stars because the ramen was average and not in the same league as other ramens I've had in other places and cities. And if me and my wife couldn't finish our ramen, that's a tell tale sign it was just okay. Plus, the place is called Konfucius Eats, doesn't have a Japanese name for a restaurant since "Confucius " is a Chinese Philosopher lol. In fact, I didn't see any Japanese or Asian cooks... just saying that's atypical to the other ramen establishments I've been to. For Modesto, it's aight. I just can't see myself going back here for a long time. Lastly, they are open Tuesday to Saturday only .

These wings were good hot or cold as leftovers. 61 - Pineapple Curry - 5 - We ordered this with Prawns and they were cooked perfectly. Bell peppers, Basil and Coconut Milk rounded out the dish making it perfect for serving over rice. 73 - Pad Kraprao - 4 - Just a bit of heat to wake up the taste buds, we ordered this with Chicken and it an excellent choice. Again, a successful meal. We'll be back!

All their lamb dishes are halal and I did try their two lamb options ( rack of lamb and baghali polo) , they both were amazing. In terms of chicken , I wish I could try their saffron chicken which is very popular dish at this place, but I did try their joojeh kabob which was the only halal option there in terms of chicken. And I admit it was amazing as well, this kabob was cooked to perfection and had all the flavors along with being juicy . They do have a lot of vegetarian options and pescatarian options as well. I have heard that their Salmon is pretty good as well. Overall amazing place to try Mediterranean food if you are in Modesto .

Very disappointed! My son and I decided to visit the Oakdale location. Our waiter brought our food (which, in all honesty, looked pretty great). As I normally do at Asian restaurants, I poured what I thought was soy sauce on my rice dish. There were two bottles of dark colored liquid and I assumed them both to be soy sauce; there were no labels suggesting otherwise. I took one bite and found that I had poured a fish flavored liquid on my food. I called the waiter over and politely told him that I had mistaken the liquid for soy sauce. Before I could even ask if he would bring me another dish ,since it was an honest mistake and there was no way I could have known the two bottles contained different sauces- He replied that the liquid was "fish sauce", and, in a blunt and rude tone (without consulting who I assumed to be the owner that was seated in the back of the restaurant) said he would have to charge me half price for the first plate and full price for the second. Had I eaten a considerable portion of the plate (it was litterally one tiny bite) I would have understood why charging me would be necessary. However, it was of no deliberate fault of my own that the plate was now covered in fish sauce. I kindly rejected the offer, and the plate and ended up paying full price for the meal. read more

Saigon Restaurant in Modesto has quickly become one of our favorite spots, and it's easy to see why it's my mom's go-to place for wonton soup. During our recent visit, we tried the flank steak pho, vermicelli pork bowl, and egg rolls, and everything was absolutely delicious. The flank steak pho was incredibly flavorful, with a rich, aromatic broth and tender slices of steak. The fresh herbs and lime added a delightful freshness to the dish. The vermicelli pork bowl was equally impressive, with perfectly grilled pork, fresh vegetables, and a tasty sauce that brought everything together beautifully. The egg rolls were crispy and packed with flavor, making them a great appetizer to start our meal. Overall, Saigon Restaurant offers a fantastic dining experience with its delicious food and welcoming atmosphere. we always come here to eat monthly, their chinese food was very good, but recently we have tried for couple time , it was not good like before. all the food smell like burn , and tasteless. no flavor at all. even my kids don't want to eat it. There is a reason you'll see so many co-workers eating here -- quality and value. The soups (pho) are great. They also serve quality dishes over rice or noodles. To top off the meal, they have lovely boba drinks. read more
