    Cream Cheese Wontons
    Lacey M.

Early Dinner Order Appetizers: * Fried pork egg rolls * Shrimp spring rolls * Cream cheese wontons The appetizers were overall tasty, but the cream cheese wontons were disappointing. The dough was tough and lacked flavor, so I wouldn't order those again. The egg rolls and spring rolls were good, but the peanut sauce was very thick and a bit clumpy. It still tasted good, just not the best texture. Very disappointing. The peanut sauce is the best for spring rolls. Entrées: * Vermicelli Bowl #39 - Good overall. The beef was flavorful and wrapped around green onion, but the onion pieces were quite thick. * Pho Specialty #16 - Very good! I also appreciated that it could be made spicy. Service: We placed our order over the phone, and the staff was very helpful. In person, they were also very friendly. Overall: A bit on the pricey side--just over $74 for two entrées and the appetizers. 3 stars because of the peanut sauce was a big disappointment & the cream cheese wontons, without those to items we would have saved $13 bucks.

Combination Seafood Pho and Spring Rolls

We decided to try this place after a gal at the bank recommended it. It also had a four and one half stars here on Yelp. They keep it nice and clean. So that was a plus. Our server was very friendly and prompt. The spring rolls were good filled with lots of shrimp and tofu. They did not disappoint. My husband got the special beef pho which included steak, tripe, meatball and brisket. The flavors were good, but could've had double the amount of meat. Light on the protein compared to what he's used to getting in Orange County. I ordered the seafood combination pho. The flavor was good. It included two pieces of broccoli three carrot slices and I think it was baby bok choy leaves. I was disappointed by only three pieces of shrimp, five halved fish balls and three minuscule pieces of calamari. Unfortunately we won't return.

The food was very good and fresh. The service was also very delicious. The inside felt very home

A (good but) different spin on Vietnamese food. Living in The Bay Area I have certain expectations for Pho and other Vietnamese food. Traveling through town we stopped and of course checked Yelp to see what others thought. Good ratings and interesting menu items helped us choose this location. The customer service was above average and a warm smile made us feel quite welcomed. This location is worth visiting. Enjoy!!

Impression: First time visiting this place. I have always…read moreheard great things about it. I have been to quite a few places in Oakdale but always just rolled by this spot. The inside is old school food place with photos of nostalgia of the country. Flow: You can call in and pick up for fast service or drop in and wait to be seated. It could be a long wait or it could be fast depending on the line. The service is fast though. They don't dilly dally and waste your time. If you are going to dine in you need to go to the counter and put your name in. Food: Leo Camarillo- You can order with pastrami, roast beef or both. (Not half and half) Lots of cheese and sautéed mushrooms. If you're not a mushroom fan just skip. This is so delicious I have been thinking about it ever since we got it. My wife doesn't like mushrooms and she still ate with the shrooms on. We ordered pastrami only. No ragrats! French Dip- My kids ate both halves and didn't even hook it up with a bite! It was juicy and the dip was perfect. Always add the cheese. The Italian- Loved the Italian. It had a lot of meats on it and the veggies were fresh. Topped with an Italian dressing. Salads- Pesto salad was my favorite. Excellent flavor. No heartburn. Spaghetti salad was the sleeper. Very unsuspecting. I thought it was going to be cold spaghetti sauce but it was tomato's and Italian dressing/seasoning. Potato salad was ok. We added pepper and salt. We ordered 3 sandwiches for 4 people and came home with an untouched half because there was so much food. Bill was less than $60 for all the food and the soft drinks. Will definitely be a frequent haunt now.

There was plenty of parking out front which was nice. When you enter the restaurant it is pretty dark but there is an option to sit outside if you want. We chose to sit inside at a table. We both ordered three sheep's to the wind. That was a jalapeño with pineapple margarita. Wasn't sure how I was gonna like it I was worried it was gonna be spicy. We both actually really liked it. Drinks were good amount of liquor, they were made with patron tequila which I love. She was hungry so she ordered the sushi rolls and she ordered the pretzel bites with cheese sauce. When the pretzels came there wasn't very much cheese sauce so we had to ask for more. They were just OK I wouldn't order them again. She said that her sushi rolls were OK as well not the best. We probably should've ordered the wings. Ordered another margarita because it was it's good. My sister ended up getting heartburn so she can finish hers . Would like to come back and try other drinks. This place is perfect 4 a date night.

There was an older gal (floor manager or bar back?) that did the absolute most to not make eye contact or interact with us while we were waiting to get seated/order drinks/order food. It was comical. After being ignored I kind of hollered at her and asked when their kitchen closed and she looked confused for a bit and said, "I'm trying to remember what day it is". The bartender was the most helpful person. But we think they were all doing shots/kind of lit while working behind the bar. Would explain why the service was a little lacking. Will not be going back. We split a French dip, I don't think the bread was cooked. It was super soft but almost TOO soft, like it was the par baked stuff that you're supposed to throw into the oven for five minutes to finish. Two stars, because the bartender tried. She was sweet, but it was not a great experience.

I asked my favorite llm where I should stop by for prime rib going from Fresno to SF. It at first suggested I make a bee like for house of prime rib in sf, which I like but have been to many times. It then suggested house of beef and I'm so glad it did (cattleman's in Livermore was also a 3rd choice but I've been there several times too). Thankfully it was Fri eve and they had prime rib. I like mine rare and it was perfectly cooked, very marbled, huge, well seasoned and delicious. I pared it wth au jus and mashed with gravy. Then, what reminded me to write this review, was the tri tip from the meat counter and took to go. They were nice enough to pack it in ice for my 2 hour drive. I just cooked it on my grill in the rain and this is seriously one of the best tri tips I've ever grilled up. The meat tenderness/marbling/quality is on par with any prime grade/American wagyu I've bought and the seasoning is just super on point. Looking forward to smoking the baby back ribs I picked up as well in the next couple of days but I will definitely be back next time I'm in the area. Seems like other reviews had issue with service but the staff were exceptionally attentive when I was there. Seriously the only thing that wasn't top notch about my experience was the cocktails(mine was totally fine but I'm a bit spoiled when I'm in SF) but for my purposes passing through I just wanted the prime rib and meats to go to be delicious and house of beef certainly lived up to its name!

Service is fast and attentive, staff is apologetic about the wait, but the waiting time was not too late or rushed. Our server 10/10 service, even gave us extra bread to take home. Salad and soup bar were excellent and everything tasted fresh. We loved the tomato soup, but didn't like the french onion dip soup. The bread was amazing, and even tasted great as reheated leftovers. The prime rib and ribeye steak were cooked perfectly to our order, but couldnt finish eating dud to being full from the unlimited bread, salad and soup bar. Garlic fries were amazing and crispy, even after reheated for leftovers. Only a few things I didn't like was when we went to get our soup and salad, they cleared the whole table. I was warming up the butter in my hands for the bread to spread on faster, but they took it away like trash when we went to grab our salad and soups. They resetted the paper towel rolls to the side of the table when we moved it to the center, and they almost took away my husband's alcoholic drink, and then realized we were still dining. The lighting was definitely way too dark. I could see elderly people slipping if there was were liquids or food filled on the floor. The space is interestingly very small for a steak restaurant, but they seem to make everything flow well. Definitely would come again, enjoy the soup and salad bar, and then maybe share a steak instead of ordering two.
