I have been going to Saigon Taste for the past 3 years now. I am Vietnamese and am always in search for the best pho place in El Paso. I've got to say their pho is cheap with very large portions. However, with flavor, it is very average. One dish that is very well made here is the Wonton BBQ Eggnoodle Soup. I now get it everytime I come here. The broth is so flavorful and the BBQ pork is so tender and juicy. Reminds me of my mom's cooking. The service at this restaurant is very nice. The waiters and waitresses don't make you wait when dining in or get your order ready quick when you are getting To-Go. Saigon Taste has become my staple source of Vietnamese food and would recommend to anyone who is craving good Vietnamese food on a budget! read more

Since moving here from Cali, I have been here twice now. The shrimp vermicelli was tasty and was a nice reminder of home. On this second visit, I decided to try to the wet cake barbeque rolls. That's what brought my rating of this place down. Yes! they were tasty and yummie, I will give them credit for that but be warned that what u get isn't the same as what is advertised. On the menu it says 6 rolls and the photo example they shows 8 full rolls. But what you actually get is 3 rolls cut in HALF to make 6 small rolls. At least get the picture example right . read more

I'm skeptical of any Asian food in El Paso but this place was solid. I don't proclaim to be a Vietnamese food expert but I have been to Vietnam and live in the Bay Area. Lots of good veggie options here. They seem to use fresh tofu which I always appreciate - we had the lemongrass and salt & pepper tofu. Veggie pho broth was also quite good. So I come in to eat with a friend of mine, we order the Bahn mi sandwich and number 13 Pho. The sandwich was great and when the pho comes out I take one bite and spit it out. The broth was terrible, I bring this up to the waiter and he says too bad. I ask for the manager and when she comes over and asks what's wrong I tell her I don't like the broth and can not eat it. She says well your friend likes his so I can't do anything, eat it or we throw it away, and she walks off. All in all I do not recommend this place to anyone. Go down the street and eat. read more

I was feeling very nauseous and didn't feel like eating food. Soon after we ordered and our food got here I ate all of it. My nauseousness left me and I was very satisfied. The food there is absolutely scrumptious. From the crispy eggrolls to the perfectly cooked chicken- and I'm very picky about my chicken- it's so soft and tender but not too soggy, and its nice and plump, but not overcooked. It's perfect and the atmosphere is calming. The lettuce is fresh unlike other restaurants I've seen and while I'm typing this I can visualize the smell of my plate. The service isn't horrible but it just isn't memorable. Luckily, the food is good (and that's what really counts!), so I'm fine with it. It feels like a small ma-and-pa shop, which is exactly what I like about it. I haven't experienced any slow service yet thankfully. There really isn't very many options on the West side for pho and thankfully, this place suffices just fine. Slightly pricey but, come on! Very upset with service. So much I will never go back. The last 2 times we have gone, we have waited 15-20 minutes for someone to greet us. The first time this happen, people sat down after us, orders after us, and still received their spring roll appetizer BEFORE us. The second time this happen, we waited 15 minutes and the server walked right past us, to the table next to us, and took their order. Again they sat down after us. She never once acknowledged us at any point. We just got up and left because we could never get her attention. This happened at 1:15 pm and only 5 tables were occupied. Us being one of them and the individual that came after us. After leaving, I called the restaurant to speak to a manger. Their was no manager on site. I tried again later that afternoon and still no manager was available. Food is good but it's not worth the wait. I would rather drive down Mesa to Pho Tre Bien and get better food and better service. read more

We Just ate at this establishment. Here are Some of my thoughts. Today the place was packed, I mean all the tables were taken. They have around 25 to 30 tables. They had a total of two desperate waiters for the whole place. Poor souls; they were trying. Obviously, their efforts were not sufficient to provide an adequate eating experience. Now, the most memorable part, for all the wrong reasons, was the food. I am no expert on Vietnamese cuisine. Granted. Nonetheless, I gather no dish should taste like one of the ingredients is ur grandma's perfume. This food was barely edible. That perfume note just overpowered our ill-fated phos. There are never a lot of people when I've been there, but that may just be because of the hour I visit their business. They have an extensive menu, but I like what I like. Ordered two baguette sandwiches for pick up and they told me it would take about 15 minutes. I got there in nine minutes and waited a few more. So five stars for having delivered on timing of food! The lady at the cash register up front was real friendly and had a great smile. So five stars for customer service. I had terrible expectations for a Vietnamese baguette sandwich since I'm from California and have not liked any food businesses in Las Cruces or El Paso. Although the bread does not cut close to home, it was still delicious bread! The stuffing is nothing like home but it still had the pickled vegetables, fresh cilantro, jalapeños, and the meat. Both the beef and pork were cooked to perfection. Whatever sauce they had in the sandwich was real delicious! Although it's not sandwiches I'm used to, the spin they took on it was still mouthgasmic! Overall, service was meticulous and prompt. It was even more impressive that we had a walk-In party of 18. Food had a few hits and misses, and some adjustments were made to cater to locals. I grew up on Vietnamese cuisine, and would recommend the pho and dessert (che) here. The flavor was good and the amount of noodles was sufficient. The pho came with less meat than I'd usually have in other cities. I didn't have to waste meat so I was really happy about it but it was a noticeable difference. If you have a large group and didn't make a reservation somewhere yet, this place would be very ideal. The lemongrass chicken with noodles was a huge hit for everyone present. The vegetarian options were served with a soy sauce mix instead of the traditional fish sauce, which was a great vegetarian alternative for my vegetarian friends. However, the curry was very bland. Also, the pork spring rolls were served with peanut sauce. It's traditionally served with a fish sauce mix if you'd like to try something new and more authentic. read more

This place is delicious. Incredible pho dishes with very good cuts of beef, papaya beef salad, everything is super tasty. As other reviewers have already said, good Vietnamese food is hard to come by in the El Paso area, so finding a restaurant that is this good is a HUGE plus. The absolute ONLY gripe that I have with this place is that they do not do a whole lot of variety when it comes to the Banh Mi. The menu is extensive, but that is certainly an area where they could expand a little. Regardless, I suggest visiting this place. If you're worried about 'trying something new' you shouldn't. Their dishes are very very easy to enjoy. A lot of the meals have a slight 'French' influence due to the French colonization of Vietnam in the late 1800s until about 1950 or so. read more

The sandwich was full sized but listed as an appetizer which was a little confusing. However the back page all vegetarian and pretty extensive. Love Saigon taste Is one of my favs especially bec the westside is so limited. Shrimp springs rolls are a must! $4 for 2 you won't regret it. Great Pho is El Paso TX?!? That is not a Mexican dish...This is overwhelming. As far as Pho goes, Saigon Taste was great. I had the rare beef (#12 I think). The broth was clean and flavorful, the noodles were cooked perfectly, the beef was tender and delicious and the bowl was huge. Service was great as well. Ok, so we moved here from Portland Oregon, home of many absolutely amazing restaurants - so our bar for "amazing" is darn high. That said, by far worth the drive to EP to get our Pho fix - until I went to Pho Saigon in Las Cruces. I had my doubts, but they definitely proved me wrong. I didn't think I'd find authentic Vietnamese cuisine in El Paso! I wanted to test their menu and try the "Banh Xeo." That's like my favorite Vietnamese dish of ALL TIME. It's what I like to call a Vietnamese Crepe. When it came out I was surprised that they weren't shiesty with any of the shrimp! Fish sauce was just right and it was derricious! We love Saigon Taste! They have great Pho for vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters. We always get the vegetarian pho with steamed tofu and it's delicious, except on Tuesdays which is their first day back after being closed on Monday and it's never very good on Tuesday's don't ask me why. 8 out of 10 times the Pho is dead on, every once in a while the Pho broth is seriously lacking flavor, or the tofu is off, thus the 4 stars instead of 5. The restaurant can be a little unkempt when they are busy, but the servers are always really nice and work really, really hard to be as fast as possible. The food is highly recommended. Almost everything will be great option for brunch, lunch or dinner~ however, I am really enough with the owner. Maybe because it's one of the restaurants in El Paso can provide excellent food. Sometimes the service are really, really bad. Take 30 mins to serve water (after requesting for 3 times), another 20 mins to serve a simple soup (lots of people later than me already got what they ordered). And, with no utensils to eat. Thanks to the kind lady next to my table, she passed me chopsticks. And then, the owner just said very superficial sorry. Besides, usually it takes them forever to give you the check. Nom nom nom! Absolutely delicious! Hands down the best Vietnamese in El Paso. Any of the Pho dishes (soup) are at least two meals. The service is excellent and the prices are hard to beat. Much, much better than Pho Tres Bien, which I think is overpriced. I also like the fact that when you order Crispy Noodles to go at Saigon Taste, they package the crispy noodles separately, so they stay crisp (duh!). Unfortunately, Pho Tres Bien lacked the foresight to do so, and so my Crispy Noodles were Soggy Noodles by the time I got home. Go and eat at Saigon Taste - you won't regret it. read more

My Daughters and Mother( we are Mexican) went to this restaurant a couple of days ago. When my Mother tried to send a plate back for not being what was expected, the owner proceeded to tell her "when I go to a Mexican restaurant I dont send food back"! My Daughter of course defended my Mother and the owner was trying to take pictures of her.
