Allowances have to be made for a remote locale like Chincoteague, and I don't look at this the same way I would as a restaurant in an urban area. However, despite their impressive vegetarian selections, I was told upon arriving well before closing that they did not have any rice, salad, congee, or vegetarian pho. What's left, one might ask? The answer was vermicelli noodles with chargrilled tofu. These came with some pickled carrots and daikon. The tofu grilled up fantastically and had a delicious marinade. I'm told they get a fair number of vegan customers. There's not a lot else around. The quality was there, but I'd suggest coming early as keeping food in stock seems to be a challenge. I ordered a tea with a weird artificial grape flavor but also some nice fresh grapes and boba. The place runs as 100% takeout at the moment. This is not a huge drawback as one normally does not come to remote beach islands to sit inside, and if the weather is bad you probably have a hotel. Did a pick up order yesterday for curry beef over vermicelli. They asked me if I wanted it "blowout" hot which I declined and just chose "hot". It was amazing! Looking back, I probably should've gone an additional setting down on the heat scale but it was delicious and a massive portion. P6 (pho) was great (it has a lighter soup base then the heavier ones that are usually found in mainland Virginia, still delicious), other family members ordered rice dishes, spring rolls, and hot and sour soup and said they were amazing as well. Service was good for a small restaurant, had about two servers going around and no complaints about their service at all, they were very accommodating. I got takeout from Saigon and it was a great experience overall!! We got two vermicelli noodle dishes and one stir fry noodle dish. The fish sauce that comes with the vermicelli noodles is delicious!! It was one of my favorite parts of the meal. The pork and the bbq chicken was flavorful and tender. The stir fry noodles dish was good, but not great. The restaurant provided hand sanitizer during pick up and was following Covid guidelines wearing masks and gloves. Love Pho!!! I ate vegetable pho regularly while living in Seattle 5 years ago. Since then I have not had the pleasure to enjoy Pho. The couple of pho restaurants I've checked out had an unmistakable bone marrow smell which I am not a fan of. To my delight this place smelled yummy. Soft Spring Rolls Shrimp and Pork) that was good although I think it was a lil overstuffed with noodles. A little less would be just as satisfying. My brother ordered the S2. Cholon Hot and Sour Soup. It didn't look like what I'd expect but the flavor was tasty... spicy and vinegary. He also got the B5. Barbeque Pork Vermicelli and Fried Egg Rolls and said it was solid. "Let's go to Chincoteague in the middle of the week in September," said two vegetarians. There would be plenty to eat, right? Well, the taco stands weren't open, the pizza place decided to stay home that day, rain washed out the veggie burger and French fry place, everyone else decided to close early, and we were hungry. Saigon Village to the rescue! Looking at the Yelp reviews, we expected serviceable mediocrity. What we got was much better. The tofu banh mi offered thick wedges of fried tofu in a crackly fresh roll slathered with mayo and enlivened with slivered daikon and carrot, with a sprinkling of cilantro. What was not to like? The Thai basil tofu stir fry was delicious, with a toothsome sear on the onions and tofu and plenty of expertly cooked crispy-fresh veggies. The spicy curry noodles were flavorful, the veggie stew was hearty if a bit salty, and the veggie egg noodles were bursting with tofu and veggie goodness. All in all, Saigon Village made a splendid effort that kept us satisfied for the two nights we were there. We were especially impressed with the generous amounts of fried tofu and the equally generous portions of perfectly cooked veggies, which can be sparse in some Asian restaurants. They were super nice and fast but this isn't Vietnamese food. Tasted like very plain generic American style Chinese take out. Way overpriced for what it was and super disappointed. That being said the banh mi wasn't a bad sandwich, just not a banh mi and the Thai basil stir fry was light and good, just didn't have any Thai basil and wasn't really stir fried. I had the chicken bun aka vermicelli. The chicken had no flavor at all. It looked like it was going to be good because it had some sauteed green onions on top and char marks. When we went back to ask for the food they said they were closed and couldn't prepare it for us even though it was 15 minutes before the stated closing time. The food that we did get was not good. No one enjoyed their meal. I shared mine with my husband who did not get his food. We still didn't finish the meal because it was just bland and unappealing. For what we paid for this we could have had a feast at any other restaurant in town. Find somewhere else, there are too many great options to waste time and money here. read more

This is a first time customer review: I was convinced by a staff member to order the Saigon noodle soup with rice noodles instead forgoing my regular Pho choice and it was a disappointment. The chicken broth tasted bland and like it was straight out of a package. The roasted pork had no flavor and looked like an ordinary deli cut (you could it was not housemade because it had the pink "salt" ring around the edge) but the shrimp was the best part; nice and large and cooked perfectly. I also ordered the crispy pork egg rolls and they were delicious, could have had a plate of those instead of the soup. I'll try the regular Pho next time and hope for the best. read more

My husband and I came in and ordered the barbecue chicken over the vermicelli noodles, and it was just so tasty! He got the beef noodle soup with the meatballs and loved it. Portions are huge so we got to take home and have as a snack later that night Would definitely recommend for those who want to try something new!! OVERALL: Affordable, decent food. Nice meal if you're looking for something a little healthier/different than the standard island fare. Great for vegetarians. As a Vietnamese person visiting Chincoteague, I was surprised to see that the one Asian restaurant on the island is Vietnamese, and the owners really are Viet! The food is tame, but tries to stay true to Vietnamese cooking. The stir fry dishes are typical of generic Asian cuisine, but the noodle soups and summer rolls are pretty authentic. We came here for lunch. They have lunch specials which are a good deal. For about $9, my husband got a summer roll, seafood stir fry, and fried rice. The summer roll ("goi cuon" in Vietnamese) is good, and made fairly traditionally with shrimp and a tasty peanut/hoisin dipping sauce. The shrimp and scallop stir fry was not very generous on the seafood, as it contained exactly 2 shrimp and 2 scallops (along with broccoli and cut carrots, etc). The fried rice that it came with was standard. Nothing disappointing, nothing amazing. I ordered the Saigon Special noodle soup which came with a mix of egg noodles (the yellow ones that normally come with Chinese roast duck or pork) and rice noodles, as well as shrimp and roast pork.
