It's always a treat when you can watch a beautiful sunset, but their is nothing like watching the sun go down when aboard a 45 footlong sailboat sailing on the beautiful Lake Travis. Phenomenal. That is how we would describe our sail with Cap'n Tim! From carrying out bags on board for us to taking complimentary pictures, we were blown away. I wanted a unique and more relaxed bachelorette celebration on the water and this exceeded my expectations. We sailed for three hours (through sunset and 30 minutes after). The views were incredible and the ride was relaxing. We had the ability to play our own music, which made the ride personal too. It's easy to find a party boat to rent for the day, but what really sold me was Captain Tim and his charter. Pretty disappointed in the way I was treated today. I came to the Sunset Sail Cruise with Captain Tim. I was invited from a boat ride I attended a couple of weeks ago. While on that last ride two ladies stated they would join me on the sail. Tim asked if we all we coming and I said yes plus one for me. I arrived with my guest and we were told to wait. We did, I greeted Tim and then sat down. He asked me about the other two ladies. I advised that I had not spoken to the lady as I did not know her but only met her on the last ride. The other woman had advised that she wasn't going due to her COVID ramp up. He then got upset and said it was my reservation and I needed to pay even if they did not attend. I said, "Tim, you did not advise me of that nor does it say it in the email contract." He said, "I am not going to let you do me like that, I'm going to ask you to leave." Now I have planned this trip, drove there and attended, and was kicked off the boat because two people that were physically present and verbally stated they would go did not come because of COVID. I was polite, I obliged the request and exited the boat. BUT...yes there is a but, my guest and I were the only blacks. No matter what the story or the situation I would have been guilty before I was innocent! It was embarrassing and rude: I had no control over the other two women and they weren't my responsibility and SHAME on Captain Tim for being unprofessional. If it was about the money for the two ladies that didn't show, why lose $250?!?! For kicking my guest and I off? It was apparent that "WE" were not welcome. It's sad, but beware. I have patronized this man and recommended him to many and did NOT deserve the treatment I received today. It was about power, pride and money. Not about consideration of the COVID concern. Btw no one had mask on but my guest and I and there was no social distancing. It probably was a blessing. read more

Fantastic family evening on Lake Travis with Captain Tim on his big beautiful sailboat. Sailed until sunset, then dropped anchor and watched a fabulous fireworks display. We had the PERFECT experience on Captain Tim's boat! Captain Tim and the entire experience was the absolute best! I planned a 4 hour sunset sail ride with 10 guests for my husband's birthday, and needless to say it was a fantastic evening. The boat is gorgeous, clean, spacious (perfectly comfortable for our group of 10 with room for more) and organized with all the amenities one could desire. Captain Tim was so kind, relaxed, and made our sail 11/10. He was laid back about our group being a tad late, and didn't flinch at the amount of food and general 'stuff' we brought on board (which turned out to be way too much for a 4 hour cruise). My girlfriends and I booked with Captain Tim and Sail Austin for a bachelorette weekend and could not have asked for a better experience! The boat is REALLY nice -- my friends were not expecting how big it was when we arrived. We brought sandwiches and wine/beer on board, which was so great. Captain Tim taught us a bit about sailing, and then we anchored in the cove and swam for a little while. Captain Tim and his co-captain took lots of pictures for us and shared them with us immediately. Whatever you're in the mood for, Captain Tim is super accommodating. We went on a Sail Austin charter for a friend's birthday and had Cap'n Tim take us around Lake Travis. We had the most amazing time enjoying the evening on his very spacious and beautiful boat -- swimming, nomming some light snacks and beverages, and most of all sailing! I absolutely can't wait to do this again! Such an incredibly beautiful vessel, but even more amazing when the sails went up! Captain Tim was very accommodating and really made the adventure extra fun! We went out on a Sunday cruise with my toddler and some friends. At first I did not know what to expect with a small child but Captain Tim was really great at explaining everything and we felt like we were in good hands. Even though my daughter was very excited the cruise had such a sedative effect that she ended up falling asleep on the cushy seats at the helm; any parent with an active toddler knows how wonderful that is! My favorite part of the boat were the seats along the very back, there are some nice cushions for getting some sun but there are also these 2 seats where you can really sit back, have a wonderful view of the boat and kind of lean out over the water, just incredible! The inside or salon area is very nice with wood flooring. We made some wonderful memories, looking forward to doing it again. I think it would even be nice when the weather gets a little chilly! read more

Captain Tim was AWESOME! My friends surprised me for my birthday with an evening sailboat excursion from 6 - 10 pm. I could not recommend this more. We sailed for a bit, swam for a long bit, and then went night sailing which is something I will never forget. Took my 9 year old son out on a beautiful sunset sail with Captain Tim and had the best time! It was our first sail so I wasn't sure what to expect but, wow!! It was perfection! Wow, this was honestly one of the best if not THE best experience I've ever had in my life. By far exceeded my expectations. I've traveled and been around the world but honestly nothing beats the serenity and peace you feel sailing on the water. Captain Tim made the entire ride smooth sailing. I kept it a secret from him and he was so surprised when we got there! I don't think he stopped smiling once the entire time. We got lucky with a beautiful day, the clouds were gorgeous and had a perfect sunset! The sailboat was stunning, then you see the inside and it's even more amazing. Captain Tim had everything available that you might need, from plates to the bottle opener. We were allowed to bring our own food and drinks, l also brought a birthday cake along. And by far the nicest thing was Captain Tim took pictures! I find in my family I'm always the one taking the pictures so I'm never in any. It was nice for a change to see myself! Captain Tim made it super easy and sent them to me via drop box the next day. He does this at no extra charge! We can't wait to go back in the summer and go swimming!
