WE LOVE CAPTAIN TIM BEST! I contacted him about surprising my husband with a sunset cruise for his 30th birthday, and I couldn't be happier. He was so accommodating and willing to brainstorm ideas with me about how to make it perfect and special. We ended up taking lobster rolls and eating them on board, it was super nice! He has a great sense of humor - we got to see not one but 5 different sunsets, hahaha. We saw butterflies flying all over. We took a Sunday cruise with my wife, 3 year old daughter, and some friends. Captain Tim makes sailing fun, interactive, and relaxing! He is very knowledgeable about Lake Travis and sailing! This was the first time my 3 year old daughter has been out on a sail boat had she absolutely loved it and blast and asked to go out again! The boat is huge, very roomy, has two bathrooms (Heads in sailing lingo) below, all teak wood flooring and a very nice salon area. The outside area has comfortable cushioned seats and pads to lay on if you want full sun for a tan, or you can sit in the comfort of the cockpit area for some shade! We sailed with Capt. Tim for a big family event and it was amazing! We had 11 people in our party for a 4-hour sunset cruise on Lake Travis and it exceeded my expectations. Way more fun and entertaining than a party barge. :) It's a surprisingly large boat, so there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. And despite the heat we were comfortable between the wind and the covered top-- and of course the water. We thoroughly enjoyed being able to anchor and swim. I was fortunate to be included on a Charter just last evening for a friend/coworker's Birthday! It was such a great experience! First and foremost, Captain Tim is extremely professional and kind, and not only takes care of all the details but provides the passengers with photos afterwards so that they can enjoy the ride and look back on the great experience! His Sail Boat is immaculate, with sun pads, two bathrooms, two bedrooms, a kitchen, dining space and more! The boat is absolutely beautiful! Our group came prepared with food, cake, champagne and beverages for the ride and we had enough space for the large quantity that we brought, which is great! My boyfriend surprised me with this afternoon / sunset sail for my birthday. The weather had been ugly during the day but Captain Tim stayed and waited out the storms for us. Be very careful booking anything with Captain Tim. He will pressure you by sending texts and emails to confirm your appointment that way he can charge a $100 if any changes need to be made regardless of circumstances. Booked a trip with him on a Wednesday for the following Thursday. That Sunday a coworker that I have worked with for years committed suicide. I asked Captain Tim on Monday if we could simply move it to next Thursday because of the circumstances that I absolutely had zero control of. He told me that was no problem but he was going to charge me a $100. I can understand charging $100 if I needed to change my date because of something I had control of. When I told him I didn't think that was fair. He told me sorry you need to honor your commitments like I do. Seems crazy that someone has no compassion for your human life. So be very careful when hitting yes on his calendar invites that he will pressure you into doing. Once you do the con is on. read more

We had a perfect evening on beautiful Lake Travis with Captain Tim for a bachelorette weekend. The boat is beautiful, the lake is gorgeous, and Captain Tim is a gem. I've been on many sailboats where we spend a lot of time motoring, but with Sail Austin, we actually sailed the entire time. We ate great food, drank champagne, listened to fun music over the boat's sound system, and jumped off the boat to swim and float with Captain Tim's train of pool noodles. I get motion sick easily and Captain Tim even had some essential oils to give me to help with some brief queasiness while we were sitting on the boat before we started sailing (I'm super sensitive) - it was smooth sailing from there on out! The boat trip was a highlight of our group's weekend in Austin and I'd highly recommend it to anyone! read more

This was my first trip sailing and I enjoyed every minute of it. Our sailer, Tim, is excellent at what he does. He taught me a few things about sailing also. As soon as we entered the boat, he had something special ready for us, since it was our anniversary. Apart from sailing, he is part photographer! He took plenty of pictures of us, and I was happy about that, considering I do love taking pictures. The boat was very nice and clean, he had a nice playlist for us to blast in the boat. I loved being on the water, with my drinks and music. After sailing, we needed to get back to the city. Luckily Tim gave us a ride all the way back to our hotel, which was awfully sweet of him. Overall experience: LOVED the sailing trip! It was equipped like an apartment with a kitchen and bathroom, and fully appointed with everything you could need Tim took many photos and happily provided them to us (no cost--I've been on boats where you are charged for a disc with all of your photos). After years of my husband getting our anniversary mixed up with his 1st wife, my husband surprised me this year for our 21st. I thought we were going to dinner and asked him what I should wear and he said my swimsuit. We went to Lake Travis and met Captain Tim on a beautiful sail boat, he greeted us with a sparkling beverage. We sailed on the Lake and with the view of the gorgeous sunset. Captain Tim was very warm and polite, yet we felt private and alone on the lake. The Captain docked and we ate a picnic dinner and went swimming. On the way back we laid on the back of the boat and looked at the stars talking about our lives. The captain offered us a pillow as we cuddled. It was the most romantic anniversary ever.
